Ordered 2 half chickens, a side of Mac n cheese, green beans, okra (2), a tangy tomato and cucumber salad- comes in a small styrofoam container (my mom said it had a strong taste like cilantro), a BBQ chicken sandwich, and drinks. They seemed to like the chicken. I told them it looked a little dry, to which my mother replied it kind of was. She didn't like the green beans nor her salad. She loved the okra, though. My dad had already mentioned how good the Mac n cheese was. My BBQ sandwich was decent. I had a toothpick in my chicken that did not go through the bun, so I'm glad I checked before I took a huge bite. Also, there was a bone in my sandwich that I found after chewing and noticing something hard in my mouth. I'm so glad I didn't swallow that.... That wouldn't have been good, as it was a pretty nice sized bone. My mom had googled this place's menu before sending me, and she saw something Called a nearly famous Sweet tea- which is basically tea and lemonade. They don't serve that here. The lemonade is just minute made lemonade (sweet, but not as sweet as homemade). Check your bags before you leave. He rang up forks, I believe I saw, but they placed none in the bag. I got forks, and I asked for ketchup for my fries (which are not good- I will choose another side if I decide to go back) Overall, the food is good. I used to like this place. I like the chicken is fire roasted. but, I've found they've gone down considerably in quality. They either are out of chicken completely (quite often), the chicken is dry and overcooked, or the pieces are so small, you have to wonder where they get such small chickens. A chicken leg should be more than two bites. My last visit, the chicken pieces were larger but didn't taste the same. It was if they changed the seasoning and type of cook completely. So, I asked one of the young women working there why it tasted so different. She said when they've been running out they go to Walmart and buy them already cooked. You would think they'd buy them and cook them rather than be fraudulent about it, selling Walmart cooked chicken as slow cooked fire roasted. I also found out most of their food on the menu isn't cooked on site, but only warmed up - often in a microwave. Lately, I have been seeing where the men in the cooking area are actually sexually harassing the women at the cash registers. It's not a family friendly restaurant when you must put up with this type of sexual activity. The girl with the long hair, not even tied back, always talks to us. I asked if a manager was there. She pointed to a man right there where this is taking place, an assistant manager, not doing anything about this illegal misconduct. He seemed to be a part of what looks like a female gossip group, not a manager. I had to hold myself back not going up to him and telling him off! He should know better. He was old enough to have grey hair and is in a position of responsibility. Those young women do not look like they are out of high school. And, they are obviously thinking this disrespect and abuse is okay. I fear for their future relationships. I saw one woman there who frowned upon the things going on and I imagine she won't last. They were laughing at her behind her back. No woman should put up with this. All have cause for cases at the unemployment offices to file on this employer and could get a lawyer. I'll even be a witness! That manager needs to find a job where he is not over women. I won't be back. I'll just go to Walmart and get better, larger pieces of cooked chicken at a lower price and save myself from witnessing near porn and sexual abuse. I'll also know what company is actually doing the cooking and the quality is more consistent. This place has far too many problems. Don't give them your business. At least those women who understand shouldn't go there due to sexual abusive in a workplace. We need to stand united in this! There are plenty of other restaurants in Longview, TX that serve chicken. read more

We ordered the farmhouse salad with red wine vinaigrette dressing. Salad was great and large enough for me and my husband to split. Also ordered a brownie for dessert, which ended up being a disappointment, as it smelled and tasted like the smoke used to cook the chicken. We both tasted the brownie separately and both agreed on this. So, the brownie was inedible and a waste of money. Salad great, brownie - not so much. This place is wonderful if you like rotisserie chicken it is prepared on a spit fire so it's not fried chicken if that is what you are looking for this ain't it. They have the best baked sweet potatoes and my husband can't get enough of the peach cobbler. The salad is always good and my daughter is addicted to the corn fritters in her own words. I have forgotten to check my to go order before leaving and made it home with missing items but I called and they took care of me. I have never had any issues with their staff or managers everyone is always friendly and welcoming. i came here last month with my gf as soon as they opened thinking the chicken would be hot and fresh.............it wasn't!!! it tasted like last week's chicken, dry and not even hot. i said something to isabella and she said i should wait and see what the management had to say. i waited. after several more customers were waited on and no help came for me i asked what was going on, will they replace my order. she said no manager was even on duty and exclaimed if they replaced my order the kitchen staff would be on the hook for replacing the chicken. i simply left never to return!!! the chicken in the window seems to be just for show. i never even saw them take any off of the rotisserie'. don't waste your money!!! read more

Call this is a fast food place. I had the grilled chicken salad. It comes with cucumbers, tomatoes, celery, shredded cheese, onions & crispy lettuce. It had the perfect amount of of everything and it was cut into bite-size pieces. (Nothing worse than trying to cut up a salad and that's falling all over your lap.... I have eaten at Cowboy Chicken in the past, and at this specific location. However, I have never written a review until now. If you are looking for a unique chicken experience, and do not want the rotisserie at Wal-Mart, then this is the place. My daughter and I went there after a movie recently, as it's her favorite spot to eat. I ordered the deep fried legs, and I got half hot, and have with BBQ sauce. Their house BBQ sauce is amazing, with a bit of a kick, but not too hot. Now, if you like hot and spicy, the hot deep fried legs are very tasty! They use Texas Pete, which I know is a pre-made sauce, but what they do with it is wonderful. I highly recommend the above dinner, with fried okra, which is crispy and non-greasy tasting. In short, it didn't leave a lake of grease on my plate. Very affordable at around $7 to $8 a person. If you want a quiet experience, Sunday nights at 7pm are the time to go, otherwise I'm sure it gets quite noisy in there. The staff are friendly, as well as helpful. I just cannot say enough good things about this place. Would go again in a heartbeat. read more

Do not eat here! My daughter went to get food for herself and my grandsons and was given enchiladas labelled Saturday. They were burned. When she got home and saw it, they had no response. Been a long time since we have been to Cowboy chicken. Loved it in the past. I was excited to try their Keto bowl. The broccoli, kale and green beans were delicious, and the chipotle ranch was perfect. BUT the chicken was almost inedible. Keto meals should be high in protein and fat, so I assumed the chicken would have the skin on, which would add flavor. NOPE. It was Chicken breast with no skin, zero flavor and so overcooked and dry that it was hard to even swallow it. This is a CHICKEN place. How can you NOT know how to cook juicy, flavorful chicken breasts? I literally had to have a mouthful of veggies with each bite of chicken to get the chicken down. So disappointed. We loved Cowboy Chicken before we were in the world of the quarantined, but customer service where they brought the food out to the car was greatly appreciated. We were able to order online in the morning, and it was pretty close to the time we had scheduled it. It was extremely busy, and the one suggestion that I would have is not to turn in by the McDonalds as you cannot get past that line going into and out of the Panda Express. That was a regret on my part with people coming and going from store to drive through. I suggest driving down across from the movie theater to get in that way and not pulling in from Eastman. The food was a proper temperature; the family deal was a great plan for our group of 5 people with a whole chicken, 3 sides, yes, you heard my right, and rolls. If you are smarter than the average bear you will order from your app, which I did not do that time, but will from here on out. Add a cobbler and it will be for free. That is a fabulous bonus! Chicken is well seasoned which may mean salty to some but to me, it means I don't have to compensate for poorly seasoned food by adding salt at the table. I rate the Rotisserie Chicken as great! Their rolls (wheat rolls) are surprisingly good as well. Wish I'd had some honey to slather on them. As to the sides, fried okra was probably the best I've ever had - very crispy on the outside.
