First, Feathered Friend is not closed. It moved to the Canton Marketplace. Check their website and/or FB. Second, the Canton Marketplace is open only once a month, during Canton First Mondays. That's not Monday, it's the Thu-Sun before the first Monday of each month. So, yes, only one weekend a month can you try this place! Third, I never thought this place looked good because it was in a gas station, and maybe the logo didn't spark joy for me. Even in the Canton Marketplace, I almost didn't try it. My misjudgment! The spicy OG is the ***best*** chicken sandwich I've ever had. It's a bit messy, so maybe I should ask for 3/4 as much sauce. Or really, I'll just learn to be tidier each time I enjoy it. Sauce might drip out even as you are unwrapping it. =) The regular OG is the **2nd-best** chicken sandwich I've ever had. =) Chicken thighs FTW!!! (You can also get the sandwich with white meat instead, but I much prefer the version with dark meat. Really owe it to yourself to try the OG as an OG.) They also make their own sweet tea and lemonade. Of the sides I've tried, I think I liked the corn/elote best. Oh, right, they also have a mean salad! One of the best I've ever had. Tough choice between that and the spicy OG. But I'd say you gotta try the chicken sandwich at least once, the way it's meant to be. You can take the salad home for later. Chef Ryan is a nice guy. I think he likes trying new things and thinking outside the box. I give them six stars. But minus one for being open only one weekend a month. read more

I've a visited a handful of times and so far have enjoyed the OG sandwich, the spicy sandwich, chicken tenders and a variety of their awesome side options. The street corn and perfectly battered fried okra sides are my personal favorites but they all are good and freshly made every day. In fact, everything on the menu is made daily with fresh ingredients which you can tell instantly after beginning your meal. Some of the best food can be found in the most inconspicuous locations and that is the case with Feathered Friend. This place has some awesome surprises I was not expecting. Really great choices on flavor profiles. Honestly hard to beat mexican street corn: Not too sweet like some places do. Great spicing profile. Make sure to mix it good! The southern spice was also a tasty surprise on the creole potato salad. The tenders were tender. I'd describe like a crunchy chick-fil-a with a nice balance of popeyes crunch on parts of it. I like to eat the breaded part even if there's no chicken so I'm happy they had that part for my crowd. The ingredients tasted pretty fresh too. Great okra and street corn. Best sauce IMO was the spicy korean gochujang sauce. The heat was comparable to a buffalo. The yard sauce (pink sauce) was a great chick-fil-a style sauce but less sweet and not full of artificiales. For the people that care about presentation, it was great. I'm not one of those so I'm sure my standards are low, but I noticed. Great experience. Give them a shout if you're ever in their neck of the woods. I only stopped to get gas at the Valero, but was hungry and spotted this place inside. What a pleasant surprise! This was the best chicken sandwich I've ever had. Apparently they don't leave anything under a heat lamp, and cook everything fresh. It shows! I got the waffle fries on the side, and used the yardbird sauce to dip them in. So impressed! read more

Feathered Friend is in the Valero Gas Station so don't think you're going in to fine dining. Having said that, the quality is what counts! We had the fried chicken sandwiches. Better than Popeye's chicken sandwich easily. Huge piece of of chicken breast with cole slaw added inside the sandwich which enhanced the deliciousness of it. We had the Creole potato salad for our side and was very tasty. Their sweet tea is some of the best I've ever had. My wife had the fleshly squeezed lemonade. I had a taste and loved it. read more

excellent fried chicken and most importantly unique. breading is like cane's, popeye's, golden chick, but the flavor still manages to set itself apart. sides put it over the top, especially the seasoned waffle fries (think curly fry seasoning). they also have good okra and cream gravy. i would describe the chicken flavor as slightly gamey and very robust--not every day i eat pasture raised chicken but it certainly doesn't taste like it came from a factory farm. highly recommended, the tendies and even nuggets are quite large. read more

Don't let the fact that it's in a convenience store fool you. Quite possibly the best chicken tenders and tater tots I've tasted. (And yes, I've tried Cane's). I got the salad with grilled chicken and it was an outstanding salad. The green goddess ranch dressing was very good. It was made with salad greens and not iceberg lettuce. My husband had the chicken tenders and tater tots. So of course I had to taste them. I'll be stopping there whenever I pass through town! read more
