Hey, the Cowboy keeps a clean and interesting rest room and the Chai Latte was the BEST I have had in years...set a new standard...creamy and foamy down to the last gulp. I'm a coffee snob :-) and this stuff was very good. I ordered my usual latte the way I like it and they did a great job, so we went back the next day before we left town and they did it again. They don't open until 630am, and we were there a few minutes early, trying to get an early start on our 10-hours of driving, and were met with a cheerful welcome. Also, they roast their own beans. Hub ordered a breakfast bagel with egg, cheese, and bacon and it was irresistibly delish. I planned on just two bites and ate almost half (it's as big as a cheeseburger). read more

I was really excited to try this place. For starters it was busy, but unlike others I had a very friendly experience with the staff. I ordered a gluten free muffin that was amazing and would have given this place five stars had the latte and chai been 5 stars as well. Unfortunately, the type of almond milk they use is extremely watery. I basically had the mocha but imagine it americano style. The barista was generous to give me an extra shot as it did not even taste like there was espresso in it. My friend had an almond milk chai and hers was also extremely watery tasting. We popped in here to get our daily dose of caffeine and was very impressed with the latte. Small location with not a lot of space to sit and eat, especially when they get busy, but if you are looking for a good quick bite or a grab and go this is probably the best place in town that we saw. I ordered a cappuccino and was disappointed in it as it wasn't steamed enough and tasted like a cup of espresso shots with oat milk (no steaming). I really wanted to like this place, but it was the lesser of our 8 breakfasts in Jackson. The coffee and iced black tea were great, but the breakfast sandwiches left us disappointed. We got the breakfast biscuit, and it was good but somewhat lackluster. There were no standout flavors in it. We took it to go and found ourselves wishing we'd had the forethought to ask for ketchup. The Granger sandwich was the bigger letdown. It's cream cheese, avocado, and sausage or bacon on a brioche bun. I had two issues with it: 1) The cream cheese was so overdone that it overwhelmed everything else. If you are someone who absolutely loves a crap ton of cream cheese on your bagel, maybe this is the sandwich for you. But for me, the half-inch-thick (if not more) layer of cream cheese was too much. 2) The sandwich lacked texture. Everything on it was soft and squelchy. I thought about this beforehand but I had asked the cashier for a recommendation and she said the Granger. I should have trusted my gut. The sandwich would really benefit from something with more bite, like some peppers and onions or something like that. I was so excited to write a raving review of this place after hanging out most mornings on our recent trip to the area. The breakfast sandwiches were tasty, and the coffee was fresh, and for the most part the service had been fantastic - until - yesterday morning. We were about to depart for the long drive home and decided to get breakfast to eat outside before leaving. We travel with our dog, who has severe separation anxiety (hence the reason for bringing him with us so many places - plus he's a part of our family). We got him 3 years ago from the shelter, where he had been returned twice, he's had lots of hurdles to get him to the place where he is now, and that is comfortable with trusting other humans. He has come a long way, but like most living beings, he has his quirks - one of which is whimpering when all his people are not together. He's a work in progress, but again he's come so far. So what does this have to do with coffee?? I'm getting to that. So I sat outside at a table, next to the water dish that was so thoughtfully placed for our four legged friends with my nervous pup. My husband and son went inside to get food and drinks, the line was long. The front door was open, and the music was playing and there was lots of traffic in and out and along the street and my pup couldn't see my husband or son, so he whimpered. As much as I try to shush him so as not to disturb, he will intermittantly whimper until everyone is together at the table. Another customer came outside and struck up a converstation with me as she said it was way too crowded, noisy and hot inside. As we were talking, a male employee (manager?) came out and told me that I basically needed to shut my dog up because he was being too loud. I had him repeat himself, as I've never had anyone complain about our dog (he doesn't bite, loves kids, and is generally well behaved), the employee irritatedly repeated himself. The woman I was talking with's jaw dropped and said, 'I'm standing right here and he's not even that loud.' A couple passerby's stopped to pet my dog as I moved him from in front of the shop to the side and were put off by the comment as well. Once my husband and son returned to the table, of course my dog stopped his whimpering (maybe 20 minutes tops). I get it, any repetitive noise can be annoying, but surely you could've used a touch of kindness to ask about the situation, instead of angrily assuming we're out to annoy people. I wish I could describe this encounter better, as it was truly horrible. For this, unfortunately, we won't be returning to Cowboy Coffee on any future visits. Standard coffee cafe but good service. Always greeted with a pleasant smile and a helpful barista. We were visiting tourists this early Spring and enjoyed a Cowboy Coffee every day we were in town. They make good mocha lattes with nice designs on top. Was it the best coffee I've ever had, no; but it was the best I could find in Jackson Hole and I was always happy to get my coffee for the day. I didn't ever eat there but it looked like they had a great menu of bagels and sandwiches. read more
