We ended up at Liberty Burger because it was one of the few places still open later in the evening when we arrived in Jackson, and it served its purpose. The service was definitely the highlight of our visit. Our server was attentive, friendly, and took the time to answer our questions about the town and offer helpful local recommendations, which we really appreciated after a long day of traveling. As for the food, it was average. Nothing was wrong with it, but it wasn't particularly memorable or something we'd go out of our way to have again. If you're looking for a late-night meal when options are limited, it's a solid choice. However, if you're searching for one of Jackson's standout dining experiences, there are probably better options. We ended up sitting at a bar stool by the window where tourists were walking very close by.. not my favorite thing. Bathroom was on the upper floor, and had to go up a narrow staircase. Two things to preface with. This place wasn't bad, but it did cost $60 for two people and a milkshake. For the food: I got the Liberty Burger with a Bison patty, add bacon and cheese. Ran me $20 alone. For the flavor, it was quite under seasoned and also dry. It's wild to say, but five guys burgers are cheaper and taste better. My spouse got their Turkey Burger, The Libertine. This one was better tasting overall, but still just generally bland. This ran $15. The best thing we had by far was the $12 milkshake, a Nutella Biscoff creation that was easily the best tasting milkshake I've ever had. Great size too. Total plus tip was $60, and beating realistic, this place is not worth the price in the slightest. I don't mind paying $60 for two fantastic burgers, one side of fries, and a milkshake, but this wasn't fantastic food. Milkshakes yes, burgers hard pass. After having disappointing experiences at a few other Jackson eateries we were pleased to be seated immediately here and given water as soon as we sat. Our waitress acknowledged us and we had a cool view off the second floor balcony, where we could people watch. We order the Smashburger onion rings and the skinny fries. I prefer a different style of batter though so I was disappointed. But that's me. Really enjoyed my meal at Liberty Burger, and I promise it's not just because I was hungry! Came in for lunch after a morning of hiking and their burgers, fries, and milkshake were exactly what I needed. I got their "B.O.M Burger" (this month was called The Great Smash) and it was so good. The fried onions, carmelized onions, with the patty and cheese - mmmm. Our table shared an order of sweet potato fries and an order of shoestring fries. Both were good but thought the sweet potato fries were better! Initially we didn't order a milkshake, but after seeing some other people get one, we saw how good it looked and got one to share. They're quite large, and my family of 4 was able to split a Huckleberry Shake. It was tasty and refreshing! After trying huckleberry flavors at several other places, I can confidently say that Liberty Burger's huckleberry shake has good flavor. So good I came two days in a row. It's in the bustling downtown area with lots of shops and restaurants. There's street parking or lots. It can get pretty busy, but I was able to find a seat at the communal table and counter. I don't remember which burgers I got, but they both were excellent. The food is either a hit or a miss, and all of it is very pricey. We had the burger of the month which was a spicy fried chicken sandwich, a baby bella burger, some fries, and their huckleberry shakes. The spicy fried chicken sandwich has heat that builds up - very good burger, but there was nothing to balance it except the regular huckleberry shake. The baby bella burger was pure umami with no kick (like the complete opposite of the B.O.M. which was pure kick). The fries were solid. The standard huckleberry shake tasted like a regular vanilla shake and the huck berry which is a huckleberry shake with vodka just tasted like house vodka blended with some ice cream. All the items on their own had their strengths, but no balance whatsoever. Most of the items don't even compliment one another. The part that bothered me the most was the location itself. We were seated inside by right by the sidewalk. Keep in mind, there's no glass window here. If you put your items towards the "window", someone can easily rob you while walking down the sidewalk. It's no different than eating outside. I would wish an employee had the decency to cover it up especially considering the weather. We tried them and was so glad we did. This place is pretty popular so expect some wait if you go during lunch/dinner hours. Got there for dinner around 8:50pm. Surprisingly a lot of restaurants in the area close around 9 but Liberty Burger doesn't. Got seated pretty fast and got two Wild West burgers, a huckleberry shake, the sturdy salad and shoestring fries. Huckleberry shake was sooo good, I really like fruit flavors so this was awesome. The burger was alright. The barbecue sauce was good but not sure it needed it and I love pickles so that was great too. The shoestring fries were good and crispy but also wish they offered thicker cut fries. I don't think we got dressing for our sauce initially and had to ask for it which was a little annoying. There wasn't really too much service. Just giving us food and what we needed when we asked but didn't check in much which was fine to us since it was a casual place. This place is right downtown Jackson WY! It has a fun atmosphere with open windows overlooking town square. There are two levels with a porch to eat outside that you can sit and watch the people on the square. Service was pretty good as this place gets busy. I needed mayo for my burger and it took a few minutes to track the gal down but not too big of a deal. The Liberty Burger, however, was not to die for. What you get at Liberty Burger does not justify the price, I'm sorry to say. Our party left pretty disappointed with our wallets crying. We all went to Liberty Burger with the excitement of trying out a bison burger. We all saw the menu and our jaws dropped to the floor - an additional $7 to replace the beef patty with bison. Fine, we're already here in Jackson Hole. Why not? It ended up being a huge culinary and financial mistake. The burgers seemed paltry, looking like something you can get at your local burger chain. The bison meat was lacking in flavor and honestly looked a bit gray, which was unappetizing. And I personally hate burger joints that charge you extra for fries (like, come on, burger and fries should go hand-in-hand), so a $22 charge for just a measly burger felt like a slap in the face. The onion rings were the saving grace of the meal. In the end, we all left dissatisfied and disgruntled, and we actually walked to Stillwest down the street and ordered a second dinner. And their burgers looked miles better than what we had at Liberty Burger. Do yourself a favor and check out other restaurants if you're looking for a quality meal. Decent prices and food. Bison meat add on to the burgers is a pretty cool Wyoming touch. Servers are great and the bathrooms are decently clean.
