When I was visiting Jackson, this grocery store was across the street from my hotel. I walked over here a few times to pick up some snacks and drinks. Pearl Street Market is a locally-owned and operated grocery store and deli in Jackson. It is walking distance from the city town square. The store itself is somewhat small, but has almost anything you need on hand. I probably wouldn't do a full grocery shopping experience here at Pearl St Market. They are a little pricey. But they do have a lot of good grab-n-go stuff. The store itself is very clean and organized.

Breakfast burritos were bomb !!! Tomato bisque was really good too but a bit expensive. Also had this huckleberry soda, it was good.

[1058] 12/2019 This corner local market was a nice find. It's located close to the center of town. The groceries are a bit higher then I am used to. The middle and back section has prepared foods which are really tasty and reasonably priced. We enjoyed the items we purchased (soup, chicken tenders and chicken torta). Make sure you bring your own bag or it's 20cents a pop (looks like all of JH is this way) I'll definitely be back

Solid market to get fresh sandwiches or quick to-go versions. The grilled cheese was great and I loved my Turkey sandwich as well. Good but expensive for groceries with lots of local favorites. I would stop here if going on a hike and need a quick bite.

    Got both and loved both!

It seems like people compare this store to Whole Foods but to me it was more like (an even more expensive version of) Seattle's Metropolitan Market or PCC. I'm not surprised people who don't live in the Seattle area don't know about those stores, though. My shopping list: laundry detergent (the machine at our hotel was broken), a little prepared food, and something gluten-free. Their selection was pretty limited and the items seemed more expensive than they are in Seattle (note: I frequently shop at PCC, Met Market, and Whole Foods) but I was glad I was able to find everything I wanted/needed. From the prepared food area I ended up grabbing a colorful fingerling potato "salad" and the watermelon + heirloom tomato salad (uploaded a photo to the business page). Loved both so much I am pretty sure my family didn't get to try any. Oops? ;)

The moment we sat down, the kindness started immediately. I don't remember being greeted with that much of a smile that was authentic about being present, and then being proud about the food that they serve, and the specials that were offered. I think one of the things we want when we come on vacation, our great memorable experiences, and I think that's exactly what you're gonna get when you come to this wonderful restaurant. Now we haven't received the food yet, in my review so far is not about the food as much as it is about the experience, which sometimes could be more impactful than the food itself. I hope you have a wonderful time here as well. PS - ask for Eric

We were surprised on a Saturday afternoon that the place had 3 couples only for lunch. The bar is the center of the restaurant and it is beautifully done. I found the menu to be limited and not that inspiring. We ordered the French onion soup and the catfish po-boy with fries. The flavor was good for the French onion soup while temperature was luke warm at best. This soup is usually super hot unless they melted the cheese with a torch. The po-boy sandwich had nice fluffy bread, a flavorless catfish filet but delicious fries. If the remoulade had not been present, it would of been tasteless. I had higher food expectations with the beautiful restaurant design but the food is no where close to matching the bar. A real disappointment. I know the chef is a long term resident and success in Jackson, but this was not anything to write home about.

I mean how greedy do you have to be? It's a small thing but it sets the tempo to offer some bread. The service at Gun Barrel moves on the slower side. Food took 30 minutes to reach the table after ordering. I'd say that's a bit tardy for a steakhouse. The decor is exactly what you'd expect and it does a good job of feeling like a hunting club cabin. Wish they'd put a fire in the fireplace though, if it is an actual functioning fireplace. I ordered the ribeye. The steak had good crust, flavor, and seasoning. It was pretty damn tough. I had to revisit the menu and yep these were choice cut steaks. Kind of pricey for choice meat at that. Even the cap of the ribeye was needing to be chewed on repeatedly in order to swallow it. It was tough even by choice standards. It was a shame because the chef knew what he was doing. The temp was right, it was seasoned well, beautiful crust... just a crap steak he had to work with. A quick word on my side of mashed potatoes. They were okay but you get a pathetic amount, maybe about a cup worth. Just another thing that makes this place feel cheap. My date ordered the salmon. It tasted fishy and had no seasoning on it at all. Like zero salt or pepper. The fishy taste was notable, like it was starting to spoil but they cooked it up anyway instead of throwing it out. I would avoid this place.

I got the 12 count dry rub chicken wings, with Mac and cheese and fries as my side. My boyfriend got the half pound brisket with potato salad and fries as his. The dry rub chicken had a good amount of flavor, but it was the tiniest bit overcooked. The sides were honestly the stars of the plate. The Texas toast was buttery and so good. The fries were perfectly cooked and seasoned, and the Mac and cheese were so creamy and full of flavor. The brisket was tender and not super greasy. However, the outer layer is extremely salty so I would double down on the sauce. The potato salad was good, but nothing crazy. I think the portion sizes are absolutely massive and you'll definitely leave with a full belly. The ambiance is pretty neat, but service wasn't the fastest, but food came out in less than 15 minutes. It seemed like maybe they were short staffed this day. Our waiter was nice, but he had a lot of tables to wait on, so he wouldn't come over unless we flagged him down.
