Very good food , service and ambiance. Highly recommended. Loved the steak , salad, and sushi.

The bar area is entirely too small. We went for a date night this week and were sad to see that there was zero space at the bar before our dinner. I was not impressed when they allowed some people to walk in with half shirts and ripped jeans. If you set a dress code, it lowers the experience when seeing this. We also witnessed a waitress pushing food onto the table with her lower leg area (calf) instead of having someone assist her while delivering plates. That was so distasteful. Also the waitress was taking photos for her guests at the tables. When she took a photo of a couple, the lady pulled her sweater closed before snapping the photo to which the waitress called out loudly "not to be so modest." I heard her from four tables over. We were celebrating our anniversary. No question was asked if we were celebrating anything. One of the hostesses looked not properly dressed for her position. A high mini skirt with a good leg tat showing through and her belly button peeking through under her shirt isn't what I want to see while I'm eating at a waist level in a more refined restaurant. The food was fantastic. The music was a tad loud and made each table hard to hear each other speak. For the price I paid for a meal, I expected a little bit higher of a bar set. I'll be back but maybe just around lunch time instead. read more

Probably the finest sit down dinner restaurant in Midland. The service has always been impeccable by the hosts and the servers. The meal options are exquisite and varied. I've had many different entrees and have not been disappointed. My daughter who is a wine aficionado always ends up with a good wine that compliments the meal well. The prices aren't cheap but you don't come to this restaurant for a burger and fries.... Well worth the price as a great treat. You will enjoy the time here. read more

The food was terrific. The service was very bad. It took 20 minutes to get our drinks. I ordered the $80 dollar strip with bearnaise sauce on the side. Sauce didn't come. Had to wait 10 minutes with my steak getting cold. Not a good experience read more

Me and my wife love a good meal. When ever we travel where we eat is always of top priority. After moving to the area 14 years ago from Orlando FL, we realized we not only are living in the desert but food wise we might as well be on the moon. We have watched as the food culture here has grown sometimes at a snail's pace. But after the meal we had last night at Cowboy Prime. We finally have a restaurant worthy of celebration and it doesn't come with a 3+ hour car ride. The location is great. The decor is elegant and comfortable and fits in very nicely here in West Texas. I would describe it as elevated country comfort. The service was excellent !! This is something I never thought possible here in Midland/Odessa. It was the first time in 14 years that we felt welcomed in a local restaurant. Unfortunately most places we have tried just seem like they had never experienced good customer service and if they had,it was not a priority for the staff more of an afterthought, definitely not the case at Cowboy Prime everyone we interacted with was warm welcoming and attentive. The food was what we expect from a fine dining experience. Nothing groundbreaking just good quality food cooked with care. Myself having a culinary background the food showed an appreciation of quality ingredients served traditionally without a lot of unnecessary frills. We shared a sushi appetizer and my wife had a filet that was cooked perfectly, and I do mean perfectly. Myself I couldn't refuse there burger after seeing one come out of the kitchen. And I wasn't disappointed. And dessert was a neat spin on a baked Alaska. We had zero complaints with the entire dining experience. Even the check was shockingly reasonable for the quality of food we received. I'm so thankful that we finally have a restaurant that we can attend for special occasions. We will definitely be back . Never have I been inspired to leave a review for a food place. Best steak I've had (filet with the chimichurri) had the Ceviche lobster roll to start with!! Very delicious! We are on the patio and really enjoyed the great music being played! The Caesar salad was great, I don't do anchovies so my husband got doubles on them! I ordered the bistro steak frites, which was amazing (came with yummy truffle fries) and my husband ordered the Cowboy cut bone-in ribeye with baked potato and he lived it! We decided to try the crème brûlée and apple crisp! Great desserts and really wonderful staff! Highly recommend!! read more

We had oysters, lobster Benny, rib eye with house made chips, steak frites, a Bloody Mary, and the El Charro cocktail. Every single thing exceeded our expectations. The only complaint I have I I wish the oysters came with the normal accompaniment of horseradish, cocktail sauce, etc. Also, try to walk in and get seated for brunch/lunch. Reservation showed full but we were seated immediately. I think the hype to get a reservation is messing with the actual availability schedule. Overall: 10/10 We will definitely be back! It sure is nice to have a restaurant in our small town that can compete with top restaurants in big cities. At Cowboy Prime, you'll have excellent service in a higher-end atmosphere. We arrecirte the presentation of the dishes and staff that knows to replace your cutlery as you progress through the courses on the menu. Get out your camera because the dishes are all photo-ready ... made for an Instagram. It's not just a pretty presentation, though. The food is excellent. The sushi, steaks, salads, and sides are all memorable. Our Baked Alaskan dessert needed fine tuning as it was frozen all the way through, but it won't deter us from returning. In fact, we already went back for another memorable dinner. Make a reservation, get gussied up, and go to Cowboy Prime. read more

It was evident they were precooked because they looked a bit dehydrated. Stroganoff was unusual and barely room temperature. The visual appearance was not appetizing. The crème brûlée was good. Tonight was our 1st time to Cowboy Prime. Service was good, food was good, drink were good. The atmosphere was GREAT, NOT LOUD LIKE MOST PLACES, you could actually have a conversation your party! I had the wild game dinner and I was awesome, wife had Salmon and it was awesome, another in our party had the burger and said ot was great. The best part of the night was desert, but I ask for coffee and the waitress said that there coffee maker was out of service, BUT the manager went to their restaurant next door made a fresh pot of coffee and brought a cup for our dessert! Was not great! My "filet" steak tasted like a dry piece of sirloin. Out of several menu options and wasn't told until after we ordered. From the moment you walk into the restaurant It gives the vibes of a bigger (non oil field) city. The hostess greeted us right away. We had reservations but were asked to give them a few minutes to clean off a table. We were offered a complimentary glass of champagne which was a very generous and thoughtful gesture. The ambiance of the restaurant is spot on, the restaurant is clean, and the staff looked and acted very pleasant and professional. Our server was attentive from beginning to end. The food was out of this world!!! My husband and I enjoyed a delicious romantic dinner to celebrate his birthday. We will be back!!! Thank you!!! read more

Beautiful atmosphere and service was perfection but Not overly impressed with the food- meatball appetizer was my favorite dish tonight. A large portion, quite tasty but as a more than shareable size should offer more than one small piece of toast to accompany it. ($20) The sushi was unique- good but not amazing. ($18) Hubs ordered Wagyu sirloin. He was disappointed at the texture and flavor for an $84 steak with no side included. My peppercorn filet was preferred by us both. It came with mashed potatoes and asparagus for $55. We added a side of mushrooms and another of mac-n-cheese for $10 each. The mac was very bland. Nothing we ordered was better than the franchise steakhouses we can visit for a lesser price point. We ended the meal with creme brûlée and the apple dessert. They were good- not particularly special. Overall, a lovely dining experience with mediocre food at a very high end price. The atmosphere and the service were fabulous. read more
