The food came out very fast and hot. I got the pork belly sandwich which minus the beans was delicious. We sat in the outdoor patio area which had lots of tvs for football. Overall great vibes and food at this place.

Pretty good spot located in downtown Helen. If you've been to Helen, then you know the restaurants in the area can be hit or miss. Thank goodness for Yelp! Cowboys and Angels has a vast exterior compared to a smaller interior. The service we received was excellent. Their menu has a lot of traditional American fare. I opted for the buttermilk chicken which was very good. Others in my group ordered the burgers which also looked very good. This is one of the very few safe spots in Helen. Go check it out!

Cowboys and Angels was an excellent lunch stop in Helen. We had a tomato mozzarella salad with incredible pickled peaches. Our awesome server Jack recommended the buttermilk fried chicken breasts with greens and omg was he right! Delicious! The chicken was moist and perfectly cooked and the greens were 10/10! And of course of service was also 10/10! I hope we can get back for dinner before the end of our visit because they have amazing looking burgers and steaks that we want to try. If you're in Helen, stop in!

Truffle Hawg! Laz loved it and exclaimed "best burger ever"!

Absolutely would recommend -- and I already have! The food was amazing, but the service? Phenomenal. Thank you, Lacy! You truly made our experience memorable. We will absolutely be back to see you. The atmosphere was sooooo inviting and welcoming -- the kind of place where you instantly feel comfortable and excited to sit down and enjoy a great meal. Now let's talk about the real reason we'll be back... the FOOD. WOW. My nephew and his fiancée were visiting, so we made the drive from Atlanta up to Helen. We were completely indecisive about where to eat, but after reading the menu, we decided to give this place a try. Best decision ever -- because now we officially have a go-to spot in Helen. The steak was the absolute star of my plate -- cooked perfectly and full of flavor. My nephew also ordered the steak, and here's how I knew it was a winner: he normally adds A1 sauce to every steak he eats... but this time? Not a single drop. That alone told me everything I needed to know. Laz said he had the best burger he's ever had, and my nephew's fiancée agreed -- which says a lot! Between the phenomenal service, welcoming atmosphere, and unforgettable food, this place is a must. We will definitely be back every time we visit Helen.

We came here last Saturday while visiting Helen with family members that came from Miami, FL. Our waitress was super attentive and friendly. There was a wait time of approximately 35 minutes or so but it was Valentine's Day too. We ordered our drinks which were really yummy except the Porch Pounder that I didn't like at all, it was sort of bitter to me. Our food came out really fast I must say and boy we were in for a treat. From the appetizer of the "Pork Belly" which was super yummy to the "Truffle Hawg" Burger I ordered with a side of "Gouda Mac N' Cheese". All of us were soo very pleased with the food selections we had chosen. Even the following day we were still talking about the food and how we wish we could've went back to this restaurant. Our family members can't wait to come back to visit so we can go back and eat there. But my partner and I will defy make a trip to it since we live in Atlanta. The place wasn't super crowded, the heater lamps were on since it was a bit chilly so it felt nice. There was no loud music so overall a very nice ambiance I must say. Please keep up the awesome job. Major kudos to the owners and the cooks in the kitchen

I wish I could give more. We waited about 40 minutes (that's totally fine). I ordered an beer and chose Alfredo pasta with chicken. My table family ordered shrimp grits, burguer and Salmon. After 10 minutes my plata arrived with same pasta as Mac and cheese, I asked about the panne and the waiter told me "probably they run out". I understand if they didn't have, but never asked me if I would like to choose another plate or another kind of pasta. I hate the pasta that has Mac n cheese shape (don't know the name), so returned my plate and ate some snacks around the city. Staffs weren't really friend, Ambience has everything to be cool

We hit the jackpot of all servers with Cody. He was personable, made fantastic recommendations, and was uber patient because I can be I indecisive when it comes to meal selection. He brought us our drinks ($5 for a German import was reasonable) while we settled in to listen to live music and peruse the menu. We started with fried green tomatoes. They were crisp and deliciously topped with bacon and a side of remoulade. My husband got a Philly cheesesteak with fries and an extra side of hush puppies. They were generous portions and, although I'm not a hushpuppy fan, I loved the crispy on the outside, soft on the inside battered fries. He enjoyed all of it. I ordered my bison burger medium which is necessary because if cooked more, it can tend to dry out. It's a really lean and juicy piece of meat when cooked right. Mine was cooked perfectly. It was so good & large that I brought half of it home. The cole slaw is homemade and brought me back to my childhood with more mayo than vinegar. Yum. Cody recommended a chicken breast for our dog and we indulged her. We asked for no seasoning but found it sprinkled with pepper on one side. We scraped it off but because it was grilled, much of the chicken was scraped off with it. If we do that again, we'll probably just send it back for a redo. We enjoyed our visit to Cowboys and Angels. Hats off to the chefs and especially Cody who made it special!!

Ate here during a trip to Helen Georgia. Extensive menu, friendly service, comfortable atmosphere. I ordered the salmon dinner with a sweet potato and coleslaw. My dining mate had the Bison chili. Both meals delicious, good portions size and food plated nicely. Prices very reasonable. Coffee also good. Our friends also ate here and enjoyed their meals.

Helen Georgia~ On vacation and this place looked like a fun spot for drinks and food. The name was catchy too! There were 6 of us, but only 4 ate. We each had something different and every entree was really fresh and tasty! Buttermilk Chicken~moist, crunchy, and delicious! The corn & asparagus sides were yummy too. Catfish with collard greens (recommended by our server, Jack) and coleslaw! Perfectly breaded catfish that had no fishy taste. Our server was right when he recommended the collard greens. I don't usually eat those, but they were out of this world. Good call! A garden salad with a seared scallop on top was super yummy too. They even had goat cheese feta, which was perfect for my dairy free friend. To round off the entrées, we had a cheeseburger with fries! Juicy burger! Cocktails were on point, but the best of the night????? OUR SERVER JACK!! This guy is hilarious and a great storyteller. I would go back for the delicious food, but I would definitely want to sit in his section again. What a phenomenal guy!!

Excellent steak! I gotta ribeye and was far from disappointed. Cooked to perfection and that's all that really needs to be said of a steak house. They also had good cocktails and I enjoyed the live music. The staff were very attentive.

Wow - two college kids started this? Were seated quickly, great servers. Cowboy caviar is delicious and they make their own chips. Fried green tomatoes were yummy with excellent sauce. I had seafood pasta - good number of shrimp, large piece of lobster. Great caeser salad. Hubby had salmon, boys had sandwiches. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Reasonable prices too. Wanted a tee but they didn't have the two I wanted in my size. Recommend!

The atmosphere was great. Our server was really friendly, I can't remember her name but she made the experience great. We both ordered the same food, we had fried fish and it was delicious.

If you've spent more than five minutes eating your way through Alpine Helen GA, you already know…read morethe truth: finding genuinely good, made-from-scratch food here feels like a competitive sport--and most places are losing. Campfire Restaurant isn't just winning... it's playing a completely different game. I've been here since day one, watching owner Matt and his crew build this place with intention and pride. This isn't a "let's open and see what happens" spot--this is passion, detail, and respect for doing food right. In a town where "authentic" can mean reheated and overpriced, Campfire stands out like a perfectly cooked ribeye in a sea of mediocrity. The vibe hits immediately--rustic North Georgia lodge meets modern comfort. Wood, textures, that Smoky Mountains ambiance. Indoor dining is cozy, outdoor dining under Edison lights is where the magic lives. It's date night, family dinner, or "I survived today" energy all in one place. Locals recommend this place for a reason--and locals don't hype things lightly. Now the food. Everything is made in-house--real Southern food, comfort food, and American food with flavor and consistency. The Southwest Gunpowder Nachos? Legendary. Handmade chips, massive portions--get steak and extra corn. It's two meals unless you're me. Best value in Helen. The smash burger is easily one of the best in Georgia--juicy, consistent, unforgettable. Fried chicken is solid, but locals will tell you: get the chicken tenders. Ribeye is tender, juicy, and always recommended. Mac and cheese? Creamy, different--but I'll admit I'm biased because mine is elite. Still worth trying. And the s'mores dessert--if you don't have room, make room. It's rich, indulgent, and perfect for date night or birthdays. Service has that "Cheers" feel--friendly, consistent, no judgment if you roll in looking like life just happened. They remember you, take care of you, and that matters. Parking is easy in the Alpine village shopping center. Seating is quick if you're smart about timing (don't be silly). Live music adds to the vibe without overpowering it. Prices are reasonable (rare for Helen), portions are big, and quality stays consistent--that trifecta is everything. This is a bucket list, must visit, locals favorite, top rated spot in Alpine Helen GA. Whether it's Oktoberfest, a Smoky Mountains trip, or just a Friday night--this is where you go when you want food that actually delivers. And honestly? In this town... that says everything. #facts REASONS TO VISIT: 1. Must visit, bucket list restaurant in Alpine Helen GA 2. Locals favorite, top rated, best in North Georgia 3. From-scratch Southern food, comfort food, American food 4. Southwest Gunpowder Nachos (huge portions, local favorite) 5. Smash burger (one of the best in Georgia) 6. Indoor dining + outdoor dining patio ambiance 10. Live music, Smoky Mountains vibe 11. Friendly service, "Cheers"-style experience 12. Reasonable pricing + generous portions 13. When a server set the steak on the table shortly after, I asked for 57 sauce, as I'm a sauce guy. When the server brought it back he told me to try a bite without sauce as their steaks are well seasoned. Boy was he right! The gunpowder seasoning along with the clarified butter really enhanced the flavor of the ribeye. My wife gave me a bite of her chicken Alfredo and it was well seasoned too. Nice balance of garlic. The sides are the reason for a the 4 star review, though if judged by the steak alone, it would easily be a 5 star review. I ordered the loaded mashed potatoes, and they were topped with cheese and bacon. The potatoes needed seasoning. Mostly salt, pepper, and butter. The same could be said of the Mac and cheese. Our server was amazing. He had a great personality, and made sure we had a good meal The restaurant was clean.
