    Fish tacos

The place is really beautiful right next to the river. The service is good with the service being very good. Although the food took about 45 minutes the servers came over multiple times consoling us for the long wait. And let me tell you the food is worth the wait. The tacos were very good with big filets of fish in them. One of my favorite parts of this place is they don't skimp on the sides. The sweet potato fries are precut and crispy. The onion rings were also extremely good.the food is also fantastically priced and way better than other restaurants in the area. Overall this place is a must visit in Cleveland and if you're in the Helen area.

This place is fantastic!! Great service, good food at a decent price - and a great view. Good vibes. We ate at campfire burgers, some places in Cleveland and downtown Helen. This was our favorite on the trip. Wish we had found it before the end of the week!

On vacation in the area, got into town about 3:00 and was in a pinch because all the restaurants close early as heck on Sunday. The only place that was open near my resort was this tavern and they closed at 5:00 so we were got lucky. Spouse ordered the Ruben which was juicy and I ordered the cheeseburger which was pretty tasty as well. The fried green tomatoes were excellent. Also ordered the wing a which had later that night and they were cooked right too. Can't say enough good things and wait staff was friendly and polite. Check them out want some good bar food!

OMG! Stumbled into this "dive", after hiking today. Still cannot believe what we experienced!!! Started with the fried green tomatoes. Excellent! The Pitmaster IS a MASTER! I had the best ribs I have ever eaten. I did not insult them with sauce. Did not need one ounce of sauce! My wife's pulled pork sammich was to die for! Baked beans were off the fork, amazing! Cole slaw was done extremely well. Great draft beers. Something for everyone!!! Lots of unexpected great wine. Danny (our so sweet bartenderess) was the bomb! All staff were friendly and on their game. We will be back, often. It is not to be missed. Very casual, but service and food, at the top of the GA food chain!!!

Can't rave about this place enough! If you're up and site seeing in the area this is a most stop place to eat! The food is incredibly good! And the service was friendly and above and beyond. The locals are so sweet! And welcoming! Will be coming back here again! Also... the smoked chicken, burger and pretzel bites are so delicious!

Wife had cheeseburger, which was spot on. I had the the fish and chips, based upon the yelp reviews. It's pretty sad when the best part of the fish and chips are the chips. I've never had fish and chips where I believe the fish may have been catfish. You guys can do better

Great bar, cold beer excellent service

I wanted to try their pancakes but didn't want a full stack, and our server Robin was wonderful in recommending the Sweet Start. One thing we really appreciated is that all breakfast entrees include coffee or tea, and the prices are already very reasonable. We were also pleasantly surprised to learn that even though we ordered specialty coffees, we could still enjoy complimentary refills of regular coffee. The restaurant has a charming and unique atmosphere, with every table looking a little different from the next. For my meal, I ordered the Sweet Start, which included one pancake, eggs, and bacon. I also appreciated the transparency from the staff. When I asked for an extra serving of their homemade pecan butter, I was informed upfront that there would be an additional charge....a level of honesty that's surprisingly rare these days. My husband ordered the Banana Nut French Toast comes with homemade whipped cream and homemade pecan butter, which also came with bacon. He added a side of eggs as well. Everything was delicious. I'm especially particular about pancakes, and I can honestly say they serve some of the best pancakes I've had. The food was excellent, the service was friendly and attentive, and what stood out most was how genuinely happy all the staff seemed to be. It created a warm and welcoming atmosphere that made our visit even more enjoyable. We would definitely return the next time we're in the area.

We had our 12 lb bundle of puppy joy with us so to the back deck we went. I think Dakotah was the only server on the main floor, both inside and out because it took a long time. Long time for water. He was busy even though the restaurant wasn't full. Poor guy. My hubby ordered the muffaletta and wasn't impressed. He ate it though. He loved his Abita root beer. I decided to order from the side menu and I'm so happy I did. The andouille sausage was grilled and tasty. The maque choux was amazing. Think Mexican corn with a Louisiana twist. Perfection!! The loaded grits were also wonderful- chocked full of gouda, bacon, and green onions. Delicious! The gumbo was thick like a stew. The flavor was smoky and sublime. My only beef is instead of all gumbo, the cup was filled mostly with rice... topped with gumbo. Overall we enjoyed our dinner. However, due to the pace of things, the underwhelming sandwich and perception of getting shorted on the chicken and gumbo. I wouldn't hesitate to swing by and order a maque choux to go as a snack except they charge $1 for the to-go container.

Seating was roomy and comfortable. Bathroom clean. Our group got a variety of things from the menu and off menu. The pulled pork sandwich was right on. Couldn't eat all of so we saved it and ate it with some eggs at breakfast. Yum! The fried okra was hot and crunchy, and quite the serving. The little dish was heaped high with deliciousness. I got the Brunswick Stew, which was not on the menu, but on the specials board at the entrance. I never miss a chance to eat Brunswick Stew. It was just right. Not too spicy. Not too vinegary. I got a bowl and shared it. I also got the baked sweet potato. That was a real treat. The potato was hot and cooked to silky smooth. It's served with this brown sugar butter that made it a dessert. One our group got the fried apple pie with ice cream. I'm not a fan of fruit pies, but I did have a nibble of the crust. It was light and crispy. Not heavy, tough and crumbly as I've seen done by others in the mountains. I would almost eat a serving of fried crust dough. Serve with that butter for the sweet potato, and some ice cream-THAT would be awesome. On your way out don't forget to pick up some grits or pancake mix from Logan Mill. It's the only grits I serve at my house.
