I wanted to share an experience my family and I had this evening that unfortunately prevented us from ever getting the opportunity to try your restaurant. At approximately 7:45 PM, I pulled into your parking lot with my family of five. We had seen your steakhouse from the road and pulled in specifically to discuss with my wife and family whether we wanted to have dinner there that evening. Within approximately 30 seconds of pulling into a parking space, a gentleman wearing a black security shirt approached my window and asked if I intended to have dinner at the restaurant. I explained that we had just pulled in and were discussing as a family whether we were going to stay. He informed me that there was a $20 parking fee, which would supposedly be reimbursed on our dinner check. I thanked him, rolled up my window, and he returned to his booth. At that point, my wife and I were having a conversation about whether our little boy, who has autism, would be able to handle the evening. We were simply trying to make a thoughtful decision about whether dinner at your restaurant was going to be a good experience for our entire family. Less than 90 seconds after our initial interaction, the security guard came marching back to my window and demanded that I leave. I asked him, "I can't stay?" He responded in an arrogant and dismissive tone, "Only if you intend on eating here." At that point, he made the decision very easy for me. If a parking space is more important than giving a potential customer a couple of minutes to discuss with his family whether they are going to dine at your restaurant, then you don't need or deserve my family's business. Thankfully, we pulled out and found a wonderful little German restaurant, Hofbräuhaus Restaurant & Pub, just down the street. The staff there was welcoming and courteous, and we ended up having a fantastic dining experience. What struck me most about the entire situation is that my family wasn't asking for anything unreasonable. We were potential customers who had just arrived and were trying to decide whether your restaurant was the right place for us that evening. One restaurant made a concerned father feel like he mattered. That was not your restaurant. I hope management will take a serious look at how customers are being treated before they ever make it through your front door. First impressions matter, and unfortunately, ours was enough to ensure that my family and I will not be returning read more

The restaurant looks fancier than it is, and it has a great view of the river. The menu is full of beef and seafood dishes for piles of money. I ordered the rainbow trout. It came with two sides but there were no vegetable sides other than potatoes (baked or mashed potatoes) I even asked the server but his only suggestion was the salad. Okay, I had a baked potato and the salad. The salad was pretty good with fresh romaine lettuce and two grape tomatoes and a spoonful of grated carrot. It was minimal but I still appreciated something green. My trout was broiled nicely and tasted good. The potato was plain but well-cooked. Paul steakhouse was a disappointment for us. The staff was amazing however chicken was extremely tough. The steaks are all pre seasoned so anyone with allergies cannot have steak. Prime rib was ok however and coleslaw I found spicy. Be aware they charge a big surcharge to use card there! read more

DO NOT COME HERE. Two different people in our party had hair in their food. The steaks were overcooked. The hush puppies were under cooked. Their salads tasted like they had been made 3 days prior. We asked if we could push two tables together by the window to be able to see the river and they refused even though the place was half empty when we got there. Hubby and granddaughter each ordered the filet with one being medium and the other being medium rare to both come out well done! And at $42 each, yuk! I had prime rib and it was to be medium rare and it was well done! No, we did not send back due to other peoples horror stories at other places. The prime rib was a nice size and not too fatty. We got someone else's food *twice*, and our steaks didn't come out like we asked. Mine was barely edible with how chewy it was, and my girlfriends was overcooked, maybe alright if we were paying for something cheaper. For the price its awful, youre paying a tourist tax for the view and they might not even sit you where you get the view. It would be alright if it were maybe a quarter of the price. $$ Right next-door to Paul's steakhouse is Paul's margarita deck, which overlooks the Chattahoochee river with plenty of seating riverside! We stopped here just for a quick snack... Margarita and some onion rings. You order your drink and food with the bartender and you pick up your food at the kitchen window. There's plenty of condiments in the cafeteria style kitchen area. The best thing was sitting Riverside on the deck and watching the people in the in tubes flow by. Great conversation, great weather, and pretty solid pub food. Safe journeys! read more

Wow incredible food 1/2 rack of ribs huge and my large shrimp were colossal in size as were their baked potatoes. The side salads were fresh and refreshing. Ben our waiter was super nice and attentive. The restaurant had lots of tables without feeling crowded. If you're in the Helen area this is definitely the place to eat. A must go to in Helen! Every time we go to Helen this is the first place we stop We pay $20 to park but they give you $20 coupon to use inside. So it's basically free. We have the souvenir mugs and our michelob beer refill is $12 for a 32oz. They have live Good music more dancing music late. Lemon drop shots are amazing! We also got the cheese fries. I wish it had been toasted more, but it was a good sandwich, around $12. Came with a bag of Ruffles potato chips. The margarita was on the rocks & handmade. There are two ordering windows. We had NYE dinner here and had a great experience. The restaurant was clean, the staff were nice and hospitable. We sat in the lounge area, and we had a wonderful server named Adam, make sure to ask for him on your next visit. All tables had great view to the bar TV's, and had a great vibe. The food was very delicious, you could tell it was freshly made and the portions were very generous. My husband had the country fried steak, and I ordered their surf and turf. Our waitress was so sweet, and the food came out surprisingly fast. The fried shrimp dinner was tasty and fresh, and the house salad with blue cheese dressing was delicious. Received our salad, nothing much lettuce, carrots and a few cherry tomatoes. Then we received our meals. The lobsters were decent but I have had better but my steak was horrible. It literally looked like it was taken from the freezer to the microwave and then pressed on the grill. It tasted awful, I couldn't eat it. My husband felt bad and offered his lobster to me, which he knows is my favorite but I couldn't eat anything else in that place. We didn't complain to the waitress but she knew something was wrong but never said anything. I went up to the register to pay and told the cashier/manager that the food was horrible. For a birthday dinner while on vacation we chose Paul's. Had we read the reviews first, we would have kept on walking! The beef tips tasted as if they were boiled, so so disappointing and quite frankly not eatable. The bill was over $50.00 for two without drinks. This experience has taught me to always read reviews. My advise to anyone thinking of eating there, keep walking. The server was a nice guy and attentive.
