I had the sausage ravioli and I loved it. 1 friend had chicken gorgonzola she also enjoyed. 2nd friend had turkey dinner she only consumed Spinach off her plate did not like at all. 3rd friend had chicken stir fry said was ok but sauce was too sweet. RI Food Fight- Lord of the Pies 2024 review: I remember liking Cowesett Inn years ago. But it's been years... 1. Cute little market inside but here is the odd thing- they are selling 3 different types of wing sauces in the market but they only have buffalo on the menu! Also, the one sauce I picked up expires in 3 weeks! (She sold it to me for half off!) 2. The wings were cooked well done as requested and were tasty. The blue cheese isn't the best but it also isn't the worst! 3. The pizza. It was gross. It wasn't hot (and we had just ordered it- we weren't late.) my husband and I went here for my birthday initially everything was fine. We both ordered Big stuffed shrimp and calamari for an appetizer. The big stuffed shrimp was very sour and it's tasting. We both sent it back. The manager never showed up. She/he never came out over. We went yesterday 3 ladies & all had lobster rolls. Could not seat near the window because no staffing. Our lobster rolls arrived, presentation was good but the amount was poor for $23. I'm going to go five star because I think the negative reviews need to be balanced out. In terms of first impressions, it did sort of remind me of Gregg's with better lighting - some historical touches, fireplaces, a lot of wood paneling, very 70s vibe. The menu had pretty much anything you could want, from burgers to pizza to chicken parm to "heart healthy" options to steak. Usually when I see a menu that extensive, the quality of the food is...well, chain quality. Fine but eh. In my experience, however, everything we had was incredibly delicious and homemade. Some highlights: Tiramisu martini - one of 10 martini options, this was is truly desert in a glass. Made with rumchata. Absolutely loved it, and it's a hefty portion. Pierogi - these are made from scratch by Polish women who visit the restaurant a few times a week. They are hand pressed, totally made with love. Hands down the best pierogi I've ever had. Sausage ravioli - I think my hopes were pretty average for how it would taste, and I was surprised. It was REALLY good, as good as any place on federal hill. My friend ordered the ribeye and she said it was perfectly cooked. The sides they offer were very generously portioned. Dessert - I've never had grapenut pudding before, and I was told it's a RI right of passage, so we ordered it. It was okay...I don't really have a reference point. But the cheesecake! One of the best cheesecakes I've had in a while. It came with strawberry topping and honestly, it would have been better without. So velvety and decadent. Also, if you're looking for a space to host a part of 10-20, there's not a lot of good options in my opinion. This place can totally accommodate larger parties. Our server did an amazing job, too. The food was terrible. There were 5 of us with complete meals and appetizers. Chicken batter hard and cold. No one could eat their meals. I have been going there for over 20 years. The food was always consistent and great. The last 4 times it has been terrible. 1 hour to get our means. The service staff was very polite, friendly and talkative. The food was great. The kids wanted Mac and cheese and it was really delicious. They ate it all up and it wasn't blue box! I haven't been here in YEARS and probably came for a party or something back then. Anyway, we returned to use our Food Fights deal and nosh on some burgers. We started with calamari and a spicy stuffie. Both were good although I'm still in search of *really* good calamari that I haven't found yet. I had the Ranchero Burger which was a high noon showdown of flavors on a pillowy bun. The ranchero sauce was a spicy, tangy marvel that tied the whole burger together with just the right amount of kick. The jalapeño peppers bring a little fiery burst of flavor that'll make you sit up and take notice. They're spicy enough to keep things interesting without overpowering the burger, striking a perfect balance between heat and flavor. I may not return for several more years so I hope the Cowesett Inn is still around when I do. read more

I had never been before but I have been told this place has been around for a long time. We tried it because we were participating in a pizza challenge. There is ample parking and plenty of seats so you won't have trouble with either. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We grabbed seats at the bar because we are casual folk and prefer it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They had a decent craft beer menu and my hubs enjoyed his ipa. We got some potato skins to start because ... potato skins. They are life. These were very tasty. Loaded with bacon. . We have been told this place is more known for comfort food and dishes so it was really great to get to try the pizza. It was thin with lots of cheese and garlic. The pizza sauce was tangy. I went in and sat at the bar for a treat myself dinner. I wanted to have leftovers but the food was so good I couldn't stop eating. I got the steak a La mama - and the steak was excellent - but the best part was the spinach. I devoured it. Katie - my server - was a great bartender. She got my drinks so fast and with such a fun vibe and attitude; she made some mixed up drink on the spot and it was so tastyyyy. I honestly ran in while I waited for my son to get out of a movie and didn't know if I'd be rushed - but they were so quick I had so much time. My favorite spot here in Rhode Island! Been coming here for years as we have family who lives in Coventry. The best baked stuffed jumbo shrimp all over town! Great layout here with lots of space for big parties and special events! Staff is very sweet and all are wearing masks. The area by the windows has great natural lighting, great views! We ordered the calamari, baked stuffed shrimp, and a Caesar Salad. The calamari had an amazing flavor and great spice to it. Also comes with hot peppers throughout the dish, so good! We always come here for the baked stuffed jumbo shrimp, and every time we are not disappointed! Love how flavorful these are. This dish in general can sometimes get very buttery and heavy, but never this dish when we order it. Light and holds up well! Butter on the side for dipping if you want that rich buttery flavor (honestly doesn't need it though!) We went in with a party of six at the bar on a week day night for drinks after dinner. The resturant was empty and there were some others enjoying the bar. There were two bartenders on at that time. I asked if they could put the Bruins on the TV and they did when we told them what channel it was. The bourbon selections were very limited and they did have quite a few beers on tap to choose from. We all had one drink and were ready to order another. The female bartender was texting on her phone and eventually came over when I ordered another drink. She disapeared and didn't ask anyone else if they needed anything. After 15 minutes, we went around to the other side of the bar and asked for the bill. When we went to pay, she questioned the bill saying, "Is this all that you guys had?" She went on to say that should could have sworn that she brought another drink over. Needless to say, she did not. Let there was the same empty glass with watered down ice. A couple of things looked good on the menu, but seemed to be in the $30 range. Everything ,last nite I ordered 1 shrimp scampi with pasta that has mushrooms tomatoes more didn't Evan look or taste like it! Our server Amy was great, and the martini was good. That's where it ended. Food was not good! We were simply out for a sandwich and a drink, so were not expecting, nor needing, "fancy." The stuffed mushrooms looked terrible and tasted worse. Stuffing appeared to consist of Ritz crackers ground to the consistency of flour, then smothered in butter. Meatballs in the meatball sandwich lacked texture and flavor, and I suspect may have been provided frozen by the local foodservice company. The burger tasted ok, but again, the presentation was anything short of appealing. Think "here's a burger on a plate, enjoy it." Thirteen of us, from my church, enjoyed a lovely lunch here. Our server was very efficient, professional, pleasant, accommodating and worked very hard to make our experience lovely. A local traditional spot that everyone has been to many times, it still holds up to its standards. We wanted to get more than the usual takeout fare for New Years Eve so we ordered from here. Chicken parm, traditional pub bacon cheeseburger and pork chops with vegetables and rice. A three were delicious, well prepared and packaged and still hot when we got home. My chicken parm came with a nice piece of garlic bread, al dente pasta and plenty of tasty sauce. The burger and pork chops elicited lots of oohs and ahhs from the rest of the family. Good portions and fair prices. Friendly service as well. An old favorite that continues to please, always worth the visit. Lots of other restaurants open and may distract from places like this, but they have stood the test of time for a reason. You can't go wrong here. read more

Back in the day this place was the place in this area, I'm talking the 80's and 90's what a shame because the menue was really promising. Stopped in for some comfort food on Black Friday. There were a few other occupied tables, but mostly to ourselves. We had a nice water view. Our waitress was very attentive and kept my water glass full. The bread was fresh baked, hot and delicious; loved the whipped butter too. My husband had the fish and chips; It was flakey and hot. My MIL had the cheeseburger club with fries. I had a grilled chicken Caesar. The dressing was authentic, grilled chicken moist, and the croutons melted in my mouth. I cleaned my plate! read more

We have used Uber eats to bring us food at home from this restaurant several times. The food is always hot and good. They have pretty reasonable prices and good size servings. We've never had a complaint about anything that they sent us and they have a great variety in the menu. And Uber eats is pretty fast so even at the busiest times you can get your food in an hour or less. read more

It was a Tuesday afternoon. I met my wife for lunch. I was told their perogies were delicious. I placed the order of a tuna melt with fries and perogies. 30 minutes went by and had to ask the bartender if our food was almost ready? He said the kitchen told him its coming. I explained we may need to take lunch to go as we were running out of time. He came back almost immediately with our order. The perogies still had oil dripping from them. When I asked if they were deep fried they said no. They are pan fried in oil. I can tell the difference and they were deep fried. I think someone forgot about our order and tried to rush it out, so they popped them in the fryer. Needless to say, they were terrible. It was very disappointing, and they cost $17. We will not be going back. If they made it right, we would have given them another chance. Half hour for a tuna melt and perogies is unacceptable, especially when the place was empty. The food is horrible everything seem frozen and low quality the restaurant was empty on valentines day now i know why. Will never return again. I can't remember the last time I went to Cowesett Inn, probably back in the 1990's, I'm glad that I decided to go there for dinner with my boyfriend celebrating our 3-year anniversary, I had surf and turf and my boyfriend had fish and chips, the fish tasted fresh and my steak was cooked perfect with mushrooms and garlic, Also I really enjoyed my baked stuff shrimp I had two sides baked potato and squash they were good, I end up taking the rest of my food home, I did end up leaving full I'm a satisfied customer.
