    Italian Job sandwich
    Lisa W.

We came here last night after hearing that it was under new management. Not sure, though, how true that is. The only difference we noticed was a new counter at the entrance, and a "new" menu cover. The menus we received had worn print. Same worn out booths, same dark restaurant. We were hoping there would be new menu choices. The only thing we saw was no more prime rib. They had a page of specials for Easter Greenwich Restaurant Week. Then there was the page of specials for the night. I ordered the Italian Job. It was a grilled chicken sandwich with roasted peppers, tomato, fresh mozzarella, prosciutto, and a basil pesto spread. I expected it to be on a cibatta roll or some sort of roll, but it was on sliced Italian bread of sorts. Chicken was not bad, but only 1 small piece of roasted pepper, 1 slice of tomato split between each half, and the pesto spread was especially disappointing right out of the jar. The fries looked overdone. My husband had the pulled pork pizza. It was loaded with pulled pork, and he said maybe just a bit too much BBQ sauce, but he liked it. Our waitress was pretty good to start, admitting she was new by a few days. She never came back to refill sodas, but did bring us some rolls since we were waiting quite a while for a pizza and a sandwich. She did come by to let us know the pizza was done, she was waiting on my sandwich. Sounded a bit backwards to us, but it all came about 10 minutes after. We waited quite a while. She was suddenly overwhelmed by a couple of large tables. We felt forgotten. There's a really good chance we won't be back. The waitress is NOT the reason we wouldn't be back.

Small, no thrills bar/grille near the E.G./N.K. line. Friendly people, and pretty good prices. Brighter than most bars. Limited hours, and although there is parking in back, its still on the short side. Worth a look in the area, and there's a good ice cream shop next door for desert.

    Nasty chicken tenders

Not sure why I keep giving this place a chance? These nasty chicken tenders make me wonder when the last time the oil was changed in the fryer?! Such a waste of money! In 2years of living in the area, I have not once had a good meal from the Waysider. So disappointing and disgusting.

A nice surprise! We were looking for a casual place for lunch (but not a chain) and decided to stop in here (the former Mozzarella's for a Rhodie of a certain age ... ). The entrance and decor was just like the former Mozz, but the menu's definitely been upgraded! (We'll try this place for dinner as the entrees looked really good.) I had a good reuben sandwich with a solid corned beef brisket, hot and tender, and nicely toasted and tasty dark rye bread. A classic rendered well! My wife had a simple greek salad, but it was filled with plentiful olives and just enough feta so that it complemented and not overwhelmed the greens. Plus nicely piquant pickled hot peppers to add a bit of zest and zing. Waitstaff was very pleasant, friendly, and prompt.

Wow, i live In the neighborhood and I am lond ordered the calamari appetizer and the girl on the phone had no idea what it was. She put me on hold twice and I finally placed my order. Picked it up and it was AWEFUL! Price on line is $13.99 and I was charged $17.99. It was easily the worst I have ever eaten. Ordered it a few years ago and got sick but I figured I'd try again. Small overpriced portion that was served cold and was totally lousy. Never in my life have I ever left a bad review anywhere but I'm going to social media on this one. Ownership needs to know how bad this operation is. Avoid at all costs! Basic

She showed me to my table, brought a carafe of water, and welcomed me in. I was quickly welcomed by Sergio, my server, who shared the special and the soup of the day. Once I ordered my soda I took in the ambiance of the bar, new lights, and the rest of the restaurant. It's not a large building but they make every inch count. Now, the reason you're reading this review- THE FOOD. I ordered the Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich with a Caesar Salad. The chicken (photo below) was perfectly cooked, topped with hot honey, slaw, pickles, and ranch then placed on a soft brioche bun. The meal was reasonably priced as well at $33 which included tip. I will absolutely be back to the Shanty next time I'm in town.

The fries were great, sandwiches were also really good! Would like to come back and get one of their main dishes as they all sounded pretty good. We got the bread pudding for dessert (sorry forgot the photo) but that was really good!! Would get again.

They do have parking available which is nice since there area mostly only have street parking. Inside is pretty large and they have lots of tables and counter. It was not too busy so we were sat down right away. They did have some easter specials but i ended up getting Fried chicken sandwich and deviled eggs. Deviled egg came out quickly. It was ok looked kind of sad as seen on the picture. Rest of the food took a while for it to come out which was weird because it wasn't that busy. Maybe short staffed. Finally the food arrived. Fried chicken sandwich was honestly not that great. Looked like it was fried too long, darkened. The cut did not have a lot of meat and it was very dry. The sauce and brioche bun helped it to balance it a bit. Fries were good. Overall the food was ok at best. We decided to try their dessert. We got the easter special egg cheese cake and carrot cake. The desert was excellent. Egg cheese cake had egg and nest looking chocolate frosting which made it look in theme for easter. It had nice creamy cheese flavor with chocolate frosting and good crust at the bottom. Carrot cake was moist and delicious. Service was ok. We had a new server that seemed like was not fully trained yet with knowledge about their menu. Wait was long for the main meal. I can see that she was trying though. Overall the place was ok. Food quality seemed to be inconsistent with the menus. If anything i would come back for the desert if they have the cheese cake around again.

Hotline Pizza started in 2020 taking orders exclusively through Instagram. No storefront, no sign,…read moreno walk-ins. You either knew, or you didn't. You got through in the first minute, or you weren't having any pizza. That kind of operation either collapses in six weeks or builds a following that argues about it on the internet for years. Hotline got the second outcome. They eventually opened on 211 Broadway in Providence, then shifted to 80 Frenchtown Road inside the Thirsty Beaver North Kingstown. On National Detroit Pizza Day, the RI: The Pizza State community held a meetup there. Hotline built a pizza specifically for the occasion -- the OG Detroit, one night only, not on the regular menu, not available any other way. Cup and char pepperoni, Wisconsin brick cheese, red striped in two lines across the top, Parmesan dusted over everything. You had to be in that room. The Thirsty Beaver is a lively sports bar, string lights, cold drinks, TVs running. Then the pizza arrived, and a room full of people who think seriously about this stuff went quiet for a moment. The edges tell you everything first. Detroit-style cheese goes all the way to the pan walls, where it caramelizes against the sides. That's not a side effect of the style, it's the whole point. The border (frico) on this is nearly black, crunchy, savory. The kind of thing you fight over. Wisconsin brick cheese is mild, buttery, and high-fat, and when it hits those hot pan walls it stops being cheese and becomes a dark, crunchy crust of its own. It also carries a sweet, tangy flavor that mozzarella doesn't have. The Parmesan on top added a second layer of salt and a different taste. Together they built a flavor profile that the average pizza doesn't usually offer. The cup and char roni was doing its job. Natural casing pepperoni cups and chars in the heat, crisping at the edges and trapping oil in the bowl of each piece. That pooled fat bleeds back into the cheese when you bite down. It's a little indecent. Nobody complains though. Then there's the dough. Hold a piece up to the light, and someone at the table did, because that's the kind of group this is, and you see a honeycomb structure, open and airy, like good focaccia pulled upward. The dough runs at 80% hydration or higher and is double-proofed, which creates an open, porous interior with a crackling exterior. The crust tastes buttery without any actual butter in the dough. That's what happens when someone knows what they're doing. Greg definitely knows what he's doing. The sauce was bright and herby, laid on top in stripes after the cheese. Sauce on top means the crust stays dry and the cheese anchors to the rim all the way to the last bite. It also cooks the sauce a little bit, renders it down slightly. It had enough acid and herb to cut through all that fat without flattening the taste out. The OG Detroit was a one-night pizza. It's not coming back in that form. But Hotline is at the Thirsty Beaver Thursday through Sunday, running 12 Detroit-style options, and if the OG is the standard they're working from, you should go find out what the rest of the menu tastes like. Some pizzas are worth building a night around. This one had 80 people nodding at each other in a sports bar in North Kingstown, smirking and reaching for another piece before the first one was finished all night long.

The paper napkins were of the same quality you'd find at the Dollar Store. We couldn't believe it. The calamari was over done and quite rubbery (my first napkin turned to shreds after I ate some of the calamari with my fingers). The filet mignon, however, was incredible and cooked perfectly. The lunch-sized portion of chicken parmesan was very generous. In fact, it was just about the same size as my dinner-sized veal parmesan, which was surprising. It was tender, not too heavily breaded, and the accompanying marinara was delicious. The veal, as you can see, was a little on the small side and was not nearly as tender (more than likely wasn't pounded). There were also only 3 or 4 ravioli accompanying it. The dessert, Tiramisu, looked nothing like the picture, and had chocolate drizzled all over it for some reason. When the bill arrived, there was an upcharge for the ravioli (which we were never informed of). We would like to give this place another chance, and I believe we will come back to try their pizza and other entrees.

The hostess put me on hold to get the manager. When the manager (or whoever Tracy is) picked up, she just said hello. After a long pause I told her I was just waiting for someone to get back to me and she said she was that person. I let her know, again, that my order was missing an item. She then told me that she confirmed with her chef and wait staff that the item was made and it is not currently in house. I was immediately annoyed because I didn't call to argue with her about it. I let her know that I definitely did not have the item to which she responded with an exasperated sigh. I again asked to be refunded the cost of that one item. She had the nerve to ask if I would prefer a gift card instead. I let her know that I would have no use for the gift card since I won't be back because of her horrible attitude. She then told me she doesn't have an attitude and that she was just letting me know her understanding of the situation to figure out what went wrong. I told her, which should be common sense, that she should definitely figure out what went wrong from the restaurant but that I didn't need to be part of that conversation nor was it my job to help her figure out where the staff messed up. She finally relented to say she would refund the card. On a positive note, the food that we did receive was good, but there is good food everywhere. The service is definitely not just lacking, but is overly antagonistic, completely inappropriate, and not fit for any restaurant.

The restaurant has a tree house in front of the entrance which explain the name of the place. Inside is beautifully decorated with flowers, books, old books and decorations. It's a busy place so we made a reservation. We were taken to one of the table and were seated right away. They offer various different type of dishes including sandwich, seafood, mac and cheese, salad, pizza and more. We ended up getting few things to share with the group. We got tree house tavern salad, special Thai mussel, sweet potato pizza, lobster mac and cheese, and whipped feta and ricotta. Everything end up arriving all at once. Treehouse tavern salad was slightly sweet and refreshing with candied walnut, apple and vinegary dressing. Thai mussel was flavorful with hint of Thai curry and coconut flavor. The broth paired very well with baguette. Sweet potato pizza was cheesy and savory with hint of sweetness from the sweet potato. Lobster mac and cheese was cheesy and flavorful with lobster chunks. Whipped feta and ricotta was sweet and savory pairing well with the baguette. All the food was tasty and easy very unique for the most part. We also had their desert which they bring full samples of all their desert to show. We ended up sharing cheese cake because we were pretty full. Service was good but the place was but the server was but awkward as little details were missing from the service. Lack of trays for mussel shells, brought desert with candle as it was my birthday but was blown out because of the fan. The server turned off the fan but left it off so it was hot inside for a while. I think service could use a bit more attention. Overall the place was good and food was excellent. They offer unique dishes you don't often find in other restaurants. The ambience is also nice and it reminds me of old time tree house. I would go back again m.
