I'm a very fussy eater when it comes to eating at Italian restaurant. When you've had the VERY best from your Nonna and mother, it's just not the same. I rarely eat at them. I went to Sherri's and saw they had Pasta e fagioli. My Nonna and mother would make it often. They called it a depression special in those days. I was very hesitant about ordering it and didn't my daughter ordered it so I tried hers and was pleasantly surprised. So I ordered it and I ordered a quart to go. That's how good it was. They were good reviews so we decided to give the place a shot. One of the worst dining experiences I've had in a long time. We were there right at 4 o'clock one of the first to enter. Bartender seating people had a terrible attitude. Talked to patrons like they were children. Ordered a lemon meringue martini. Thought it tasted an awful lot like pineapple. Bartender asked me if it was "ok". I just said yes because I didn't feel like complaining. Afterwards, I heard her telling somebody at the bar that she forgot to put lemon in it. She forgot to put lemon in the lemon meringue martini. Must be why it tasted like pineapple. We ordered stuffy's, which took forever to come out as we watch everybody else that came after us get their appetizers. Probably waited a half hour to even put our order and we had to repeatedly ask staff for everything because nobody would come over to the table. I got fish and chips. My husband got a veal Parm sandwich. The food was good, but the tartar sauce tasted oddly like nutmeg or cinnamon. Sat waited and waited and waited. Finally asked for our bill only to get someone else's bill and have to go back up to ask for our bill. Same as before, a great meal and drinks at Sherri's. The bar was crowded, but we were lucky enough to get a table. We had an appetizer tonight, that generally doesn't happen because we choose to enjoy our meals. However, one of the specials was a shrimp and garlic brushetta. Very good, very garlicky, very good kick with the spice. There were quite a few shrimp, and combined with the roasted peppers, you can't miss!! The only problem (if you want to call bread dunked in a delicious broth a problem) was the bread wasn't toasted enough for us, and was soggy. Still, it was delicious. I had the most delicious espresso martini, hubs had a beer on tap. For dinner, I had chicken Parm (without the Parm since it was Provolone, which I don't like), but the chicken was so tender and good. My husband had fish and chips. Another great dining experience at Sherri's! We went in on a Friday night and ordered a regular fish and chips and the Brociole special. The sauce was excellent and the Brociole was super tender and full of flavor, which went perfect with the Josh cab by the glass. The sauce tasted different from the house sauce, but it was actually better in my opinion. Although the bar was full, the service was excellent and the food came out quickly. On a Friday evening, this spot was absolutely mobbed! The bar was full, one 'two top' and one 'four top' were open and they filled up immediately. Clearly a popular spot. Our waitress was very personable and although she impressed upon us how busy they were, our food arrived in a reasonable time. French onion soup was our starter and just what you would expect. The breading on chicken parm is nice and crunchy, the sauce slightly sweet. It comes with a side of pasta and no veg. The baked stuffed cod special was tasty and a good sized portion. The Italian zucchini was good, well cooked, lightly sauced, the mashed potatoes were salty. Specials menu has no prices. Ask. Altogether it was a very nice visit. Good pub food, nice clean restroom, full bar, pleasant staff. They offer take-away as well. Just give them a call. read more

My wife and I get takeout from here 2 or 3 times a month, so I feel qualified to write a review. While we haven't tried everything on the menu, we have tried enough items to get an overall sense of their fare. With rare exception, everything we have ordered has been good (chicken parm) to excellent (baked stuffed shrimp). Their food is about as close to home-cooked as you can get at a restaurant, and they even made a side dish of carrots creative and delicious, which is a rather impressive feat. Prices aren't cheap, but are reasonable, considering the quality of the food, and this thing called inflation. Service has been excellent. The food is consistently ready within the quoted time, which is important to me. Owner and staff is always polite and thankful for your business. read more

During covid we would occasionally used "take out" from Sherri's. I liked the linguine with clam sauce which is not on the menu but it is offered as a special every couple of weeks.I also like the pasta fagioli soup which is very good. The menu changes often and is updated on their Facebook page. I suggest you take a look. Last night we decided to eat at the restaurant for the first time instead of take out.. It's a small place with a few tables and hi-tops placed around a "U" shaped bar. There is a good sized tv on one wall. We sat at the bar. The staff was attentive. I had a special, veal and peas,Kathy had eggplant parmigiana. The servings were large and we took some home. The food, as always was very good. We each had a glass of red wine. The wine list was very limited. Comment: Sherri's is a local bar with a lot of regulars, who seem to populate the bar. They all know each others names and beers (of which there are many choices), seem to be the most popular beverage served).There is a neighborhood bar "feel" to the establishment. BUT, the foods are not your typical bar foods. The cook takes great pride in her offerings and this results is a higher quality selection available. We might go back to dine inside again, not sure.. We found this cute little spot on Yelp while visiting the Warwick Rhode Island area. It doesn't look like much from the outside & the area looks a little sketchy but this place was a hidden gem. It's small inside but what it lacks in size it more than makes up for it with its charm & delicious homemade meal options. It has a cute 3 sided square bar which is the focal point inside with tables around the outskirts. They can accommodate larger parties 6+ parties but I recommend calling ahead for a reservation. I had the chicken francais which was on the specials menu that night with homemade red smashed potatoes '& my husband had the chicken Parmesan with linguine. I also had the homemade meatball in gravy (sauce) & my husband started with french onion soup. Everything is made to order from scratch! We will definitely go back here again! read more

We tried Sherrie's this weekend for the first time. I can't really speak on the ambience only the food because we grabbed take out. My husband had the Angus bacon cheeseburger and I had the fried clam dinner. For some reason they either substituted or accidentally gave me an extra cup of tarter sauce instead of the cole slaw that's supposed to be included. The fried clams were okay. They tasted very fresh but were a bit damp from the soggy fries. My husband enjoyed his burger but his fries were also soggy and kind of rubbery. When we first pulled up to the restaurant we weren't sure what to make of it as from the outside it's very unassuming. However, once inside we were greeted warmly and our server promptly took our drink orders. We asked for recommendations as it was our first time there. My wife ordered the Figgie Burger which was on special and I went with one of their best sellers, fish & chips. My absolute favorite cozy comfy little restaurant ever . My family and i moved to west warwick almost 2 years ago and the first place i saw was sherrys and after seeing there food and menu on yelp i could not wait to eat here . We had to wait because of Covid but it was so worth the wait . The food is amazing and fresh , the staff is incredible and friendly and the atmosphere is so cozy and just perfect . Just to add to my experience at this amazing place , I was able to have a conversation with the owner last night and she is so fun and great to talk too. Sherry cares so much about her restaurant , staff and patrons and its great to see a owner that has so much love for every aspect of the restaurant and overall community around her . I have recommended many many restaurants on yelp but I really recommend stopping into sherrys and have a drink and eat some amazing food and if you are lucky enough to have a conversation with anyone on the staff you will know what im talking about when i say this place is perfect and the staff is the best and they love this place as much as they owner does . Lastly I just want to add our food was incredible last night like always and my wife and i can not wait to go back and have a date night . Tried this cleaned up ex-dive bar after the reviews and the images of the dishes posted. Stopped in around 2:15 for a late lunch. My first choice from the menu was not available. So I ordered the stuffie to start with and then a pub cheese steak grinder. The stuffie was okay, I found it to be a little dry and lacking in flavor. I had to cover it with Tabasco. The pub cheese steak was 1 of their best sellers I was told. Compared to the image of the pub cheese steak posted to the cheese steak I got, they didn't even look similar. The cheese steak I got barely had any meat or cheese. The grinder was closed up, not like the image where it looks like was so full you couldn't close the grinder I could barely see the meat in my grinder. I got the $3.50 cheese steak but I paid $12.00 for it. I wish I took a image of the cheese steak I actually got served. I've had way better for much less in price. However this place definitely has potential and with all the hard work and investment in renovations I'm hoping they'll only improve. I'll definitely try again and update the review read more

I really wanted to like this place and support local business, but this is the third time the food wasn't good. The specials were posted in the morning and by dinner time, not only did the sides change completely from glazed carrots or sautéed spinach to Italian style green beans in tomato sauce or a salad of some sort; but the description of the meal was completely different. I ordered two dinners of the Maryland chicken, mashed potatoes, and the Italian green beans. The description from the restaurant was "Hand pounded chicken, breaded and lightly fried, then stuffed with bacon and provolone cheese, served with buttery mashed potato and either glazed carrots or sautéed spinach." What I received was a fried chicken cutlet topped with gravy, provolone, and two strips of bacon ON TOP, NOT STUFFED! My red mashed potatoes were in an aluminum dish along with tomato sauce green beans, so my mashed now were swimming in tomato sauce. You know what happens when you put tomato sauce in an aluminum pan?? It turns bitter! Any chef would know that. 47$ for this meal; 3 strikes you're out Sherri's! read more

I love this place. I've been many times now and it's always very good. It's a small "mom and pop" type of place with very good food.

Love Sherri's ! I order the same thing every time; colossal fish and chips, and the baked stuffed mushrooms. The fish is always white and flaky and never heavily battered. I do get less cheese in the mushrooms. They are a great way to start my meal! The Come Along is small and cozy, but the staff makes you feel right at home. I've heard really good things about Sherri's and have been wanting to give it a try. Since we have been babysitting Friday nights at my daughters house about a mile away we figured it was the perfect time to give it a shot. I ordered delivery through yelp app for our first order which was delivered pretty timely and the next time I went and picked up our order. First time - I got the shrimp scampi and it was really good. Generous portion of shrimp and nice bites of garlic in this dish! The hubs got the cacoila sandwich and while he said the meat was very good the bottom half of the bun had become soaked with the juices and the bread had just turned to mush. It couldn't be picked up and he needed to use a fork to eat it. Second time - was told 30 min for pick up. I was there in 20 because I prefer to wait for my food rather than the food be waiting for me. Food didn't come out until for another 20 min which again is fine because I'd rather it take longer and be good. Unfortunately that was not entirely the case. Ordered a stuffie for an app and just didn't care for it. I found there to be too much filler like peppers and I didn't have more than three bites of it. My baked stuffed fish was good, green beans were delicious and mashed were tasty. Husband again didn't make out so well. His fish and chips were incredibly overcooked. The batter was thick, heavy and hard. Nothing good to say about it. The downside of ordering takeout is you can't send it back My meals have been good but the hubs hasn't fared so well so it'll be tough to convince him to give it another shot. Just based on my own personal meals and the yelp recommendations from others I would give it a try. read more

Completely unexpected! I had heard the bar was under new ownership and one of my carpenters was doing work in there, so I stopped in for lunch a couple weeks ago....I've been back a dozen times. The first time I was there I ended up leaving with a bunch of soup for dinner and lunch the next day! The pasta fagiloa is unbelievable, they told me they sell it cold so I can have it for the week. They do the same for the Italian wedding soup and chili which are both now permanently on the menu. The sausage and peppers, steak and cheese and veal and peas are my go to sandwiches. But I went last night and tried the Chicken Zona special which had sun dried tomatoes, chicken, mushrooms and spinach in a pink vodka sauce with Gorgonzola on top....holy cow it was good. My fiancé got the shrimp scampi and raved about it. We had more than enough to bring home too. The interior is remodeled and clean, I like the fact you can see the kitchen and see how clean it is. I would have never expected this from looking at the outside. I have a feeling that as people find out this place won't be a secret much longer. We are working down the road and they have a separate take out register and entrance so you can get soup and food to go quickly. Must try the fagiola! read more
