This place has confusing branding, no one is sure whether it is called Granite Farm or Merola's. My receipt says Merola but their sign says Granite Farm. Difficult to figure out what door to go in. Large parking lot that filled up on trivia night. Drinks are cheap but my server stated she was only 18 and wasn't sure what beers or hard ciders they had, had no idea what an Angry Orchard was when I requested one. My friend's sangria glass was filled 70% with ice and she did not recommend it. I do like that they serve breakfast all day and breakfast item pricing was low and reasonable. Some apps and seafood dishes had a higher price than the atmosphere dictated. The dining area smelled like urine and looked outdated. We wanted to try a different place we hadn't been to. We had buffalo wings-frozen coated wings on the small side. Do not recommend them. I had the hot wieners and let me tell you they were the worst I have ever had. Fries tasted frozen and tasteless. The sauce on wieners was brown and and tasted like meat from shepherds pie no celery salt. My granddaughter had a small grinder and came home and vomited. She said it tasted funny and didn't finish it. Service was not very good but waitress seemed unsure of what to do. No refills on water forgot drink that came with order. Was recommended by my ladies coworker so we made the trip from CT. I don't think we got their best this Sunday morning. Our waitress seemed very green and wasn't on the ball. Our food came out and it looked great but it was a little warm. It was as if it was cooked and sat for a little bit before it was brought out. I ordered the "Kelli" and a side of corned beef hash. I received the "Kelli" but not the hash. When I asked for it she said she'd go get it and it came out when we were done eating. I'm assuming it was never put in. We will definitely be back to give it another shot because we loved the look of the place, the prices on everything were reasonable and the food was good. For the price it's great, the portions are huge and the food is pretty good. I love the fact that there is a soup and salad bar, sometimes the soups are really good! The food is pretty basic but the boyfriend and I had dinner for just about $20 and that included dinner play soup and salad. Today I decided to try the specialty burger that had mash potatoes, bacon and cheddar. It was pretty good even though the bacon was the bacon bits from the salad bar. My favorite thing so far has to be the honey fried chicken. The plate is absolutely huge and the chicken was pretty good. For a local cheap dinner place this place is definitely worth it. I saw they do free dessert on Sunday with a $10 purchase but the waitress brought out the check so fast after dinner we didn't have time to ask. Maybe next time tho! read more

Came here for breakfast. Food was fine. But the plexiglass glass did not even cover the entire bar. And the server kept taking her mask down and was pouring drinks without a mask. Not to mention customers are allowed to walk around the restaurant coughing without a mask on. Would not recommend to come here during the pandemic. read more

I support the locals before I venture out to the bigger establishments. Granite Farms is rustic and has very good food for the price. Service is quick with the kitchen in close proximity to the bar area so you can actually see them preparing your food if you are seated out front. Great selection and quick service. Stop by for supper tonight, was seated gave our drink order, and dinner order. Three other couples came in after us got sever there meals and were leaving , while we were still waiting for our meals. I ordered two orders of French toast (One Texas the other regular), two orders of home fries (both were burnt) an order of bacon and an order of sausage. This was a take out order that came to $26!!!! $30 for breakfast that was burnt- mind you! Since I'm a tipper- I left $30. The home fries and bacon were burnt and I wouldn't feed my dog that sausage. Updating my review because I last submitted a review in 2016. Some of the staff have since changed and they are under new ownership. The food and service at Merola's Granite Farm are better than ever! I often order their chicken parm dinner, minus cheese, because it's the best chicken I've ever had. Their tomato sauce is fresh, bright, and delicious. If I'm not in the mood for pasta, I order an eggplant grinder with sweet potato fries. The eggplant is crispy on the outside and velvety on the inside - phenomenal! Sweet potato fries are always good. I'm usually not a fan of breakfast because of my food allergies but I LOVE their breakfast items! I usually order a bunch of sides. Their carved ham is fantastic, their homefries are excellent, and you can't go wrong with their cinnamon baked apples or a grilled English muffin. Staff are personable, attentive, and friendly. My girlfriend and I enjoy Granite Farm Restaurant immensely. Their weekend breakfasts are beyond compare. Whether we're having one of the specials from the extensive menu, or our one favorite standbys (any kind of omelette), the food is always perfectly prepared, very fresh, and served by a courteous and very likable waitstaff. The restaurant has a nice buzz, with regulars mixed with newcomers. Lunches and dinners are just as enjoyable!! Try the Buffalo Chicken pizza. Pros: Cheap Cons: TACKY, bad service, mediocre food While this was my first time eating at Granite Farms, I knew it would be my last when it took the waitress 20 minutes to bring me my drink. I went with a large group of friends for breakfast and, since the 18% tip was mandatory for our large group, our waitress ignored us the entire time we were there. She wasn't explicitly rude to us, she just took an absurdly long time to take our orders, bring us our beverages, and she never offered anyone a refill. More over, a family had left soon after we were seated, and no one cleared their table until we were leaving an hour later. As far as first impressions go, the place is disgusting. The restaurant is divided into two distinct spaces: the dark, divey section and the family section. I was in the family section. When I first walked in, the first thing that caught my eye were the tacky murals on the wall. The most offensive one, which my friends called the "Narnia Door," was covering a closet door. Aside from the paint job, the space is littered with fake flowers. The tables have fake flowers, there are hanging fake flowers, and there were fake flowers in the window. It would be one thing if the fake flowers were clean, but there weren't. On top of the tasteless decor, the chairs were unnervingly wobble and made a horribly loud noise when sliding on the floor. And everything was sticky. The menus, the table cloth, the silverware; they all felt thoroughly used. The term "disgusting" comes to mind. The food was merely mediocre. But it was cheap, so it was acceptable that it was sub par. There was no fines or refinement what so ever, and everything needed a good kick of salt. My biggest complaint, though, would be the ambiguity of the menu. For example, I knew I wanted pancakes. But the pancakes given on the menu are plain, though it does say you can add "toppings" for a price. However, they never list what the toppings are. Furthermore, a lot of details are left out about other items. I ordered home fries, and no where on the menu did it say the home fries had onions in them, something that would have been nice to know. All in all, the restaurant is a good place to bring your elderly relatives, but not a good place to bring your date. The mediocre food can be excused as it is so cheap, but the horrible service and tacky appearance cannot. read more

We just moved to Scituate and have been checking out the restaurants. I think I may have been spoiled by the quality of food in Providence, and now everything else just seems ordinary in comparison. That's what this was, just plain good food from a family restaurant/tavern.
