Our family loves Fresco! They have a great Monday night special--for $49.98, you get two salads, two entrées, and a bottle of house wine. If you have a third person, you can add one salad and one entrée for $25 (no wine included), which is also a great deal. Beyond the value, we really enjoy the food. Dinner always starts with their warm bread served with spicy olive oil and Parmesan cheese--something a lot of Italian restaurants do, but Fresco's version stands out with great flavor and balance. Their Caesar salad is also a favorite--you can tell the dressing is homemade, with a nice hint of lemon and shaved Parmesan on top. We've tried a variety of entrées over multiple visits, and everything has been consistently good--never had a dish we didn't like. We decided to try out this place for dinner and had a nice experience! Many local friends recommended it to us. Expected dress is casual and the ambiance is laid back, pop/rock radio playing in the background. Parking is pretty chaotic, and you can expect the restaurant lot to be filled uo on busy nights, although finding street parking nearby is pretty easy. Service is fast and friendly, and the food is good for the price. Portions are also pretty generous too. read more

A beautiful and classy looking restaurant - definitely much nicer and better run than the small, cramped, noisy West Warwick location. I had a lovely waitress who was attentive and accommodating. Being a Wednesday, I received a complimentary large, delicious salad and tiramisu for dessert. My meal was a large portion of a braised beef pasta dish. It was tasty but not exceptional. I still do not think Fresco is anywhere near best as good as many other Italian restaurants in Rhode Island. read more

Party of 4. 2/21/25. Had the crab cakes. They were not good, and this is putting it kindly. They were two perfectly shaped patties (more reminicent of a Sponge Bob krabbie patty) that were over processed, tasted more like eggplant (due to the plate of red pasta sauce they were served). There was zero crab lumps like traditional crab cakes are supposed to be. I suspect they were boxed "crab" cakes from a vendor and certainely not in house made. And a first was them being served on a plate of red pasta sauce. "Not good" is basically horrific. Add to that the c.c.'s were deep fried. These should ALWAYS be pan fried to preserve the tenderness of a crabcake. Anyway, had chicken piccata. Two chicken breasts breaded and deep fried (again, if not it was a great imitation of having come out of a fryer) plated next to a hanful of arrugula that wasn't too bad. Though the parmesan was missing and only two quarter marinated artichoke hearts. The sauce was serviceable but the plate overall was pretty disappointing. It would have been more acceptable if it came out as a sanwich. The drinks were ordinary as well. I ordered a cucumber martini that states fresh "muddled cucumber". That didn't happen. It was just cucumber flavored vodka poured into a glass with two cucumber pieces on a toothpick. It should have been ice cold too. It was cold, but not martini cold as they should be. Had the drink been muddled as adverstised then a slightly cloudy appearance would have been noticeable. Our server was pretty good considering he had to serve up less than enjoyable drinks and food. Will not go back. Too bad, the location is prime but if you sell less than average product you will eventually go under. There are other places in the immediate vicinity and just a short drive away from. You cannot sell less than desirable products and expect to continue to make money. Something has to give, and it won't be a patrons wallet. Should have known that our 5:30 reservation when we arrived, had very few people in the dining room and bar. The kitchen apparently just goes through the motions because the food overall was below average. The bread and oil served initially was the best part of the meal. read more

About a dozen of us ...women from the January Class of '65 enjoyed a wonderful time at Fresco 's. The service was excellent as our waitress skillfully managed 12 separate orders. The Asahi tuna arrived perfectly prepared accompanied by crisp green beans, carrots, and boiled rice. Wasabi and sesame oil/ soy sauce added zing. The seaweed is an acquired taste. The location and ambiance are quite nice. If one cannot find parking on Main Street, there's a free municipal parking lot just up the hill a block away. read more

Went here on the recommendation of a real estate agent. Walked in before 5, and was asked if we have a reservation. We did not. We were asked this two more times, which was slightly annoying, but not the worst. Our waiter was young and eager to please. He gave good service and, while slightly awkward in his eagerness, was the right amount of attentive. My wife had chicken piccata, which was quite tasty, well above average. It came with mashed potatoes and broccoli. Odd that it came with potatoes and not pasta, but they were good, but my wife said they were a bit cooler than she liked. The broccoli was decent but could use seasoning. I had the lobster ravioli special. It was quite good in a vodka sauce with spinach h and grilled shrimp. The shrimp was extraordinarily good. This rating is strictly for the East Greenwich location only. We've been to the Warwick location and it was totalllllly different. I believe it was a very hot summer Sunday when we ate here. We were waiting for them to open at 4:30pm. The doors opened and we sat at the bar and were greeted right away by the bartender who was very down to Earth and nice. She whipped up a kick-ass Hot N Dirty martini for me. We shared a burrata with prosciutto appetizer drizzled all over with balsamic vinegar MMMm....My entree was a huge a55 bone in rib-eye packed with flavor. It was so good that I wanted to share it with my son who is also a steak lover--so I saved him half! :D My bf ordered pasta with meatballs and those balls were HUGE! So my review of this place teeters between a 3 star and a 4 plus. I have been frequenting this restaurant for years and have been wowed and underwhelmed! I think the key is consistency. Their eggplant parm is at times so delicious and impressive. Just the right amount of fresh, light and airy eggplant flavor and crispness with a lovely sauce and nice topping of yummy cheese! Other times it is seedy, and chewy and has an acidic flavor! I think maybe they have had changes in chef's and some don't always prep the eggplant to maximize the flavors! The sauce is fresh tasting and it is always piping hot . The bread is so yummy and the oil dipping sauce is so good! read more

On a nice Friday night on the first weekend of the summer, we ventured to Fresco for dinner. We reserved a table on the patio for 7:30PM, and were seated upon arrival. The sun was setting and the evening started off with amazing company. Several other dinners were paying their checks and soon left us alone which was an added benefit. Nice, warm focaccia bread with oil soon arrived at the table. It was very good and a nice start to the meal. For entrees we ordered the crusted scrod which was very tasty, served to the table hot, and was accompanied by broccoli and carrots with white rice. The pan seared ahi tuna was served with similar vegetables and white rice and ordered rare. On the plate it was very ordinary and plain looking, but was accompanied by two small ceramic cups containing teriyaki sauce and wasabi sauce. It would have been more interesting and visually pleasing to have some drizzled on the plate; either under the tuna or even over it. Still, both meals were very good and reasonably priced for the quality and quantity of food. Oh waitress, Caroline, was a pleasure. She was knowledgeable of the menu and answered our questions with positivity and excitement. She definitely took pride in her job. Came in tonight for my 3 year anniversary they sat us at the smallest table in the middle of the restaurant mind you it was empty.. told my server it was our anniversary... no happy anniversary nothing honestly server ruined our first experience here, made rude comments about our age saying it's a school night (we are in our late 20s) when my man offered me to get a drink couldn't tell if it was a joke or just a rude comment since she didn't seem pleased that we were her table.. also waited 30 minutes for our food. Older couple next to us complained the entire time about service & their wait for food as well. Won't be returning. read more

The manager and bartender are both incredibly rude, and the food is sub par at best. With all the other options in EG, walk past this one and find a better option. It's a shame b/c their other location in West Warwick, and their D'Vine in Warwick are the best. The owners need to rethink the staffing here in order to improve. read more

We left before ordering. Our dinner plans at another venue fell through so we chanced upon Fresco and thought we would try our luck - so no, we didn't have reservations. We arrived exactly at opening time 4:30. The look on the hostess' face when we said no, we didn't have reservations definitely made us feel like she was tolerating our inconvenience. Nobody was in the restaurant yet. The main dining room was divided into two rooms by a 3/4 faux wall. We asked to sit in the front by the windows (there were 2 of us). She said no, that section was for reservations. She led us to tables by the kitchen door and a table in the middle of the room in a high traffic area. I asked if we could sit in the bar area and she said no, those were reserved. We asked if we could sit off to the side, and she said no, this was the table was for those without reservations. Our waitress was nice enough but made us feel rushed. She didn't know the price of a house bourbon - in face she couldn't tell us anything about it. She went to find out (no one was sitting at the bar) and came back and said $16 a glass but couldn't tell us anything more. My partner asked for a taste since she didn't know about it - she returned back with the tiniest drop in the bottom of a glass. It was laughable. A runner brought us bread and oil. After we started to nibble on the bread, our server immediately came to our table to let us know that wasn't supposed to come to us but to the couple that was seated next us. And she kind of made a big deal out of it. I asked her if she wanted it back for the next table and she said no, she'd go get them theirs. We started with calamari in a lemon butter sauce - as the menu described it we were expecting a sauce. Nope. Overdone calamari rings and two wedges of lemon. No sauce. We suggested to the server that the kitchen forgot to put the sauce on the dish as they were so bland. Nope. Server said there's butter in the batter and squeeze the lemon. Which we already had done to try to bring flavor to the dish. She offered another option and we asked for marinara sauce. We got a small saucer of cold tomato sauce that was very sweet. Sugar?? Also all the banana and red peppers were deep fried as well. I think there were fried jalapeño peppers as well which made the dish strange. The peppers only added some flavor if you specifically ate them - they did nothing for the calamari. Also it was difficult to distinguish between the peppers and the squid as it was all fried. We ended up using the dipping oil from the bread for the calamari and left the plate half empty. The server kept coming back for our order during our appetizer and first glass of wine and we repeatedly asked for time. The specials sounded the most interesting- the menu seemed like a pricy basic menu. We weren't impressed with the food selection at all; just an average menu one can find at any restaurant. We were expecting Italian but it's mostly a meat & potato menu with a few American-Italian dishes. The folks nexts to us got a pork chop (I think) on mashed potato's with steamed broccoli. It looked so basic. I was wondering if there were two different menus: one for reservations and one for the rest of us? The hostess sat a family next to us with little kids playing video games and that was our final straw. Since we had multiple little incidents of being made to feel like we were not welcome or wanted, we told the server we would not be having dinner and just wanted our check. She had it all ready and said she hoped we had great rest of the evening. I think we were there for 30 - 40 minutes maybe? I guess if we had made reservations our experience would've been different. However on our way out the entire bar section was still empty and a few locals were at the bar by then. The main dining room was less than half full. Honestly. After the way we were treated - you can keep your reservations and I'll keep my money at those prices! I wish the hostess had just said they don't serve parties without reservations- it would have been kinder than how we were treated. We walked down the street to an oyster bar and had an absolutely wonderful dinner and experience there. read more

Have not reviewed this East Greenwich venue since 2016 at which time I was disappointed. However, we have had the opportunity in the past couple of months to enjoy some fabulous meals here in this very neat and lovely dining room. The most recent occurred this week when we once again ordered from the Monday evening special menu accompanied by wine. Christina, our excellent server, was so pleasant, accurate, and helpful. She also knew how to pace our dinner courses. A basket of bread was served as soon as we ordered our salads and it was just the way we liked it - a crisp crust with a tasty, airy bread. We were a party of four who were each thoroughly delighted with our meals. Beginning with salad, my Caesar was tasty but not at all with an overly strong anchovy flavor and was accompanied by an appetizing crunchy garlic toast slice. The mixed green salad has also been excellent with its balsamic vinaigrette dressing as I have ordered that in previous visits. Regarding entrees, I must state that I have not had such a scrumptious sliced pork dinner in a very long time. Two of us in our group could not refrain from our many compliments about the Panko-encrusted pork tenderloin topped with a bit of apple Chutney, along with mashed potatoes and the vegetable of the day, zucchini and summer squash. My husband remarked positively after tasting his entree, baked scrod with his favorite Ritz Parmesan crumbs, Jasmine Rice and the squash vegetables. The other diner was very complimentary as he partook of his 8 ounce grilled NY STRIP steak with mashed potato and his asparagus (slight upcharge). Each meal was a good size portion and with smiles, we knew we were taking some home - mmm, another helping to enjoy the next day! I was so thrilled with the cuisine and the happy experience that we all had, I forgot to provide some pics for our readers - next time! Such a great evening of well-prepared, delectable food. Been to this restaurant twice. The first time the meals that my wife and I had were good. During our second visit, we sat at the bar before dining and my wife's earring fell on the floor. She went to retrieve it and was surprised and grossed out seeing so much dirt and debris on the floor. Transitioning to our meals, I ordered the swordfish chop that was quite good until my last bite. As I began consuming the last piece, I thought I could feel a hair in my mouth. Unfortunately I was right. I had to pull a long black hair out of my mouth (it wasn't mine as I don't have black hair). GROSS! My wife ordered the baked scrod and it was very sub-par, being dry and slightly burnt. We were with another couple who had recommended we go to Fresco's so I in particular, didn't want to say anything to them. I didn't know about my wife's meal until we drove home. There are too many choices of fine places to eat in RI so we will absolutely avoid Fresco's in the future. read more

I have been a loyal costumer to this restaurant for a long time but as of tonight I'm done. it's not the food or the service or the prices, it's this stupid rule they have at the bar where you have to sit where they want you to. I'm 70 been going to restaurants all my life and this is the ONLY place I've been to where you can't sit where you want at the bar. my wife and I always move if needed to accommodate other people coming in but if needed not just because the chairs MIGHT be needed. I feel bad cause I really like it but not going back after being asked to move 3 times now and no one has ever sat next to us all 3 times. read more

Was there with the family for Mother's Day. Everything, from the perfectly cooked calimari, to the eggplant parmesan, to the chicken piccata was excellent. The marinara sauce was excellent as well. The fresh baked bread was perhaps the best I've had out in a restaurant, quite frankly. Our waiter (a younger guy with black hair and beard) was informative, friendly, and attentive (as were the two busboys). The only thing keeping this review from being a five star rating would be that the veal parmesan (and the chicken parmesan to a lesser extent) was a little on the tougher side...not fork-tender. Some due-diligence (as it pertains to pounding the meat first) would have solved this obviously. All in all, a wonderful experience with good food and great service! read more

The house red Pinot noir was much better than we expected for a house wine We split a honey/goat cheese / onion flatbread, ricotta gnocchi w/ vodka sauce and a side of Brussel sprouts. If I could give my experience tonight no stars I would. My family made a reservation for my moms birthday for Saturday night. We tried to make it online but were unable to as they ask parties of 7 or more to call. I called and spoke with the manager, Bonnie, who wrote my reservation down. Upon arriving the hostess, who was absolutely wonderful, said my reservation was written in the book but it looks like it didn't make it into the computer. The manager, Bonnie, than came over and started arguing with me that she put it in herself and I cancelled my reservation and that's why it wasn't in the computer. I told her I couldn't have cancelled it as I made it over the phone and never received a text message confirmation. She insisted that I was wrong even as I showed her my phone to show her I received no text message to confirm. I've worked in the service industry for over 12 years and have never met a manager who was more rude. She refused to acknowledge the mistake and was insanely rude and didn't even offer a simple "im sorry." The hostess was absolutely wonderful and so kind and apologetic - mistakes happen as we all know. However, it was the managers behavior that was so appalling. read more

A larger party.. Where shall I begin? 1. Apps- pizzas- top notch. Coconut shrimp out of this world. Fresh- golden. Monster size jumbo. Perfectly cooked. Calamari- both ways - melted in my mouth. Stuffed mushrooms were, again, excellent- stuffing was tops! Next- lobster Ravioli topped with grilled sirloin and asparagus... sounds pretty good, huh? Well let me draw this picture - how about chunks of lobster meat falling from the ravioli and needing to be cut with the steak knife? Come on, MAN!!!! Tips were a little over done for medium but this did not hinder the experience one bit. Top that baby with some perfectly cooked and crunchy asparagus, and you can start your ascent to heaven. But then? Why not try a little piece of tiramisu? Melted in my mouth. Fantastic... Wait staff was dead on point. My compliments to the chef. If I had to review this flavor filled experience with one word, it would have to be plagiarized from the king of the kitchen himself, Emeril Lagasse: "BAM!" read more

Recently had a great dinner here with two other couples on a Friday night. The atmosphere is upscale casual with soft lighting and tasteful decor. The bar area boasts a nice horseshoe area for seating with friends with some smaller tables with comfy chairs for more intimate outings. Met the other two couples at the "small" bar off the dining room right at our dinner reservation time. A cozy, intimate little spot to have some before dinner chit-chat and relax with a cocktail. We felt no pressure to go to the table but had just a gentle reminder from the hostess that our table was ready when we lost track of time over drinks. Very classy and subtle. We shared a few apps at the table which were average but would not have been my choice...calamari and coconut shrimp were tasty, but not eye-popping. The meals are always over-the-top delicious here. This time was not any different. I had the house special osso bucco that, per my request, was served over risottoa instead of red, mashed potatoes. Their risotta is one of my favorites. It is creamy and flavorful with an al-dente firmness nicely seasoned with fresh herbs. The osso bucco was a tender, meaty delight...so good. Our waiter was great. Service was top-notch and attentive. Just a short stroll from other great watering holes on Main St. in East Greenwich makes this place a good place to start your night out. read more

My wife and I always do small plates or apps for dinner and so we had a nice shrimp dish with beans and artichokes that was very good. My chicken soup was also very good. I dined in at Fresco in East Greenwich on Nov 26 to take a friend out for her birthday. I ordered the steak Carbone and asked my waiter named Bobby not to put any added salt in the food as I cannot have a lot of salt. When the dinner arrived, I started to eat the steak and noticed that it felt like it had been marinating in salt. I then took another bite of the steak and combined it with some asparagus and it literally tasted like someone had taken the salt shaker and poured it on everything. The bread was better tasting than the dinner. I did not say anything to the waiter as it was my friends birthday and didn't want to embarrass her as it was her day. I called the next day to talk to the manager who I assume might be the owner not quite sure. I spoke to her and told her of my experience with my dish. Instead of apologizing, she told me that I should've said something when I was there. Whatever happened to that good old customer service? However as I reiterated twice to her that it was my friends birthday and I did not want food going back-and-forth and then having my friend wait on my dish while she was already finished with hers. I did ask the manager for my money back just for my dish as I was very unhappy with it, and she did not want to refund my money and just stated again that I should've said something last night. If her concern was whether or not I was telling the truth, she could've easily looked up the reservation that I made to dine in at frescos and spoke to the waiter to verify. The manager seemed very aggravated and annoyed at me even though I told her that we dine in at her restaurant often. With that said, I will not be going back there as I feel like she did not care whether or not I had a bad experience as the food tasted as though it was slowly simmered with salt. read more
