Table service started out great, then went downhill. 35 minute wait between apps and entree, no offer, just entice to purchase another drink. When I brought it up(complained) they were more than gracious and did offer me another drink to bide my time, on the house. Made me a happy camper. Man, does this place do some business!!! We came here on a Wednesday night, not thinking it would be too crowded...lets just say, thank gawd we made reservations!! We were seated when we arrived (again, thankfully we had reservations). We had 5 kids with us and they were given wiki sticks and a coloring book set which was nice. We ordered the deviled eggs, lobster stuffed mushrooms, oysters Hamptons (amazing), and spinach artichoke dip for apps. All very tasty. My only complaint was that they did not give enough chips for the spinach dip, and when we asked for more, they literally brought out a tiny bowl with 5 more chips in it. There were 5 adults sharing apps--gee thanks, we got another chip each. For dinner all our entrees were tasty. The service was friendly and quick despite how crowded it was. Even valet parking moved pretty quickly despite the long line. And let me not forget to mention the spectacular view...you're right on the water. They also have a boat that will take you back and forth to Rhumba if you want to go to either for drinks/dinner. All in all a great place! read more

Great happy hour (3-5 half off apps and margs!), delicious brunch, gorgeous views, and a great atmosphere! The boyfriend and I love Cowfish. Perfect place to relax with friends and enjoy awesome margaritas in the afternoon or their to die for bananas foster French toast for brunch. They have a shuttle boat that will take you to Rumba as well which is such a fun little boat ride to complete the experience! Throw in a little corn hole on the grass and we've made this place our go to. Thank goodness they're open year round! read more

The best part about this place is the view. The service was horrible, after they took our order it was pretty much like they forgot about us. I can deal with bad service so let me move on to the food. Well the food was even worse than the service, steak was over cooked, baby back ribs were tough however the sauce wasnt terrible. This place is in an excellent location and has a great vibe for relaxing and having fun near the water. We ate dinner here for the raving reviews and how popular their cornbread skillet was. The cornbread skilet was definitely the best thing we ordered, but okay in flavor. The swordfish steak was cooked well but lacked flavor, the scallops were very salty, and the blackened fish sandwich was average. Terrible food and service. Decided to eat at the upstairs bar where the nice view is (the only thing this restaurant has going for it). Ordered a bottle of wine (which was extremely overpriced) then decided on the tempting $30. Price fixe menu. We ordered clam chowder with bartender, then she disappeared. Another woman served our soup...then we were completely alone at the upstairs bar with COLD soup for at least ten minutes before the bartender briefly returned (she must have been waiting tables somewhere else). We decided at that point that if they can't get soup right than the rest of the meal will surely be a disaster. We said we would just finish the wine in our glass and take the bottle with us. Then, she disappeared again The soup server came back again and she closed out our check. Probably another ten minutes after we paid, she offered us hummus. Seriously? How about a discount instead? Don't you think that would have been a better thing to do? It wasn't until we had coats on and we're leaving did the bartender ask if we needed a bag for the wine bottle. We said no and she said "well you have to if your taking it with you" (like we were stupid). Why would she ask then? We then waited downstairs for her to get the bag sealed. The whole point of my review is to let people know that this restaurant does not have it's act together. I'm tired of these all style no substance restaurants. read more

Everything from the outdoor waterfront bar to the rooftop outdoor seating set the mood for a fantastic lunch. Although we had a hard time docking the boat the food was worth the slight aggravation. Disappointing. We ordered the buffalo shrimp appetizer. The buffalo part was good but the shrimp was horrible. It was grey & tasteless, not fresh . We had the fried flounder special. The best thing on the plate was the cole slaw. That was delicious. The flounder was so thin you could see through it and barely taste it. The fries were so over salted that I couldn't eat them. The only thing this place has going for it is the view. Go at sunset for a cocktail then have dinner elsewhere. read more

My favorite restaurant all time. They have the best views of the Shinnecock Canal that are truly breathtaking. Their food is delicious and always fresh. They have a great creative drink menu. My favorite drink is the Home Wrecker which is so refreshing it's hard to stop drinking them ( they are strong but don't taste it so be careful ! ). Their workers were so nice to me I thought I was a celebrity from the second I walked in to the second I left. They are an amazing establishment and can't wait to go back. I can carry on and on about how awesome they are but it can't explain it, you will have to go and see for yourself. read more

Beautiful location, may be a great spot to get a couple drinks and an appetizer but dinner was incredibly disappointing. I don't eat meat or dairy so I ordered an avocado roll. The roll had barely any avocado! Two others in my party ordered sushi rolls that included avocado and their portions were MUCH larger. Not sure why solely an avocado roll would have barely any. Also the service was not great. The waitress had a poor attitude and after we received our meals did not come back to check on us until all our plates were done. I doubt I'll return. read more

Apps were ok if you like your pita that has grill marks but isn't even warm. BBQ ribs at $29 dollars that were dry and taste like sauce from a bottle. And finally French dip. Chopped beef of some kind on a good roll. We stopped there on Saturday prior at 9:30pm and were told there was a two hour wait but we do have a bar. We left. Mixed experiences. First night we just went for drinks. The outside bartender played on his phone and talked to other staff over serving us and other guests. It took over 15 minutes to get our first drink ordered and he wasn't busy. Then was fairly rude. The next time we sat outside upstairs at the restaurant and had an excellent server. Great location! Came here on a Monday afternoon, pulled the boat up to the dock and sat on the upper level looking out onto the water. Just note the dock is very small and is probably very hard to get a spot for your boat on a busier day. The service was just okay. We didn't get napkins and silverware until after we ate our appetizers. It was a struggle applying hummus and guac to our bread and chips with our hands with no napkins. Our waitress was no where to be found. Also, she didn't serve someone I was with because she didn't have her ID and she was 25. The food was very basic but good, nothing special. There was so much hype about this place. I guess it's a favorite for many locals in the hampton bay. We attempted to go here on July 4th but they had a wedding so came here on a Saturday night instead. We got here at 8:30 and were seated at 9:30 but was told that it would be a two hour wait. I ordered the ribs and my friend ordered the rotisserie chicken. Both were good and safe. My ribs came with fries and cole slaw. The chicken came with rice with veggies. The view is quite nice and perfect for drinks. I don't know that I care for their food too much. Service was extremely slow. read more

Bit tricky to find but worth it. Lunch, seat on upper deck, beautiful views of the bay - worth 5 stars. Service a bit mixed but decent enough. What about the food I here u say. 2 people had ribs and rated them v highly, sweet sauce, meat that falls of the bone, with some shoestring fries excellent. The chicken and fruit salad was quite what I expected but the chicken in mayo with finely chopped apple was nice , melon was a good touch. Not spectacular but fine lunch dish. They did sort of a rustic look and have the waitstaff dress in jeans and plaid; it works! To make it even better, they offer a free boat ride across to their sister restaurant Rumba. Very cool! Finally a cool out door bar for all types! I love the casual vibe indoors and out that this place brings to the table. ;) The food is amazing. Really... It's that good! Oh, and lets not forget the service. The day we were there the bartender made it just as enjoyable as the food and atmosphere did. You have to try the rum punch, which if you're a fan of Rumba, is the very same as theirs. This is my new favorite place to hang out when I'm home visiting the parents! You have to go here for the view alone! Located on the corner of a marina and the canal. Large outdoor bar, and a lot of outdoor seating to grab a drink and enjoy the scenery. inside, modern and spacious. Didn't try a lot for lunch because we just came from sister restaurant rumba. Wedge salad was pretty good with crispy bacon and chunky blue cheese-decent size portion. Also tried the buffalo shrimp appetizer- 3 jumbo shrimp over a blue cheese drizzle. My favorite things were my drink (the home wrecker) and an amazing house made banana cream pie (the best I have ever had)! There is a boat at the dock that will take you to the sister restaurant rumba down the road. This restaurant has one of the nicest views on long island-Definately try it out! read more

Food was great but service was atrocious. We were seated half and hour after our reservation. They knew they were behind from a wedding and they should have called us to let us know and tell us to come 20 min after our reservation. They rarely brought us water even after asking several times so I got up and took the pitchers and brought them to our table. All the food was pretty good except one Berger which was raw (they brought a new one) and the coconut rice of ahi tuna was weird. read more

After taking the train to the Hamptons from NYC, my boyfriend and I were looking for places to eat and celebrate our anniversary. Cowfish came up on Yelp as a suggested spot, and given its high rating and reviews, I thought it was worth a shot. Plus, I love to eat anywhere on the water/with a view. When we showed up, we were blown away. Both the interior and the exterior of the restaurant are decorated beautifully. The inside is cozy and romantic, and the outside is very inviting and casual. We were also crazy about the food--we ordered the spinach and artichoke dip as an appetizer, which was absolutely to die for. I ordered the rotisserie chicken and my bf got the shrimp. Both of us scarfed up our meals and felt very satisfied. Our server was delightful, and one of the other servers offered to put our bags in storage for the meal. We finished our drinks outside, and there was a lovely engagement party taking place in the far end near the bar.
