Customer service is just not there. People on the phone are just horrible. They act as if you were inconveniencing them by calling. There was a huge fire in our neighborhood and many neighbors lost their homes. They couldn't be bothered to give information on restoring internet service after a week for people to be able to keep their families abroad informed on their condition. Worst internet service ever. Down more than its up. Use a different company if you can. You will regret of not.

I still maintain the review I gave eight months ago. Cox really sucks! (No pun intended)! For the past year, I have had issues with Low or no signal for TV, fractured, pixels, horizontal, pixel, melting, etc. and it gets worse at sundown. Have had many many technicians come, changed out wiring, re-ran the underground to the pole from the house, and the issue does not resolve because, and I told them this, The trouble is toward the cross connect or at the cross connect box but they keep sending me subcontractors who know diddly squat about anything. I waited four days for an appointment this time and was promised I would have a Cox employee that has some years under his belt, but that did not transpire and I received a text that my appointment was canceled! They will lose a lot more customers because they simply do not care about the customers. They job out to foreign countries to interface with most customers that don't really have any knowledge of telecommunications. I on the other hand, have had 20 years of troubleshooting experience in telecommunications! It's very frustrating to have them follow the flow chart and not have any idea how a circuit works or a transmission gets to the house! i've had enough of their BS and I finally chose to disconnect my TV service with them today,! What a relief! They never look at the yelp ratings because they don't care and they have a billion dollar business so why bother with the little folks like me? this is a sad state of affairs. I've been a customer with them for almost 40 years. Will be filing more complaints against Cox when I get my ducks in a row and file with the proper institutions, FCC? I have been a customer of cox for years. we have two internet lines coming in to our property for house and business. yesterday we changed a modem to a newer model (on their list of of approved models) . we were on the phone with them for 2 hours in the morning and no luck getting the new model connected. I called in the afternoon. the person got it working but disconnected the other line. I called again. no luck. I called again. they said service tech coming today. I received a notice - suddenly my bill for next month was half as much. so I called about that. Person assured me that someone was coming today between 8am and 7pm. I called today at 5. I now only have one line. some dumbo turned the other one off. then they told me there is an outage. now they are saying they are coming Friday. I guess tomorrow I am shopping for a new service. read more

Do not get Cox Mobile under any circumstances. They are liars and even though you will have a copy of the transcript they won't honor the price they sell you. Plus nothing but foreigners for customer no service. Worst experience I have ever had. Had them for exactly 2 months because that is the soonest they will allow you to cancel. I have had problems with both the Contour and the standard boxes; including tiling, pixilating, picture freezing and voice freezing, often for several minutes, until I have to turn off whatever I'm watching. This really sucks when I'm watching a show I really wanted to see. This problem has been going own for more than a year and has gotten increasingly worse. I've had several techs come to my home who all tell me, "Cox is aware of the problem." The last service tech came out in September 2024. He called the following week to tell me that there are now hundreds of complaints about the same problem and "Cox is aware of this". Being aware of a problem is one thing...doing something to fix it is quite another. Perhaps Cox has a "concept" of a plan to fix it. Every time I have to fork over $200 a month to Cox for such poor service is infuriating. I guess it's finally time to look into an alternative to Cox. read more

Customer service talks to you like you're an idiot. have internet service thought them. only getting half the speed we're paying for. they try and blame it on my modem which is recent and can take download speeds of at least 400 Mbps down. Or blaming it on the router. Which is also recent and can take very fast speeds. we've got the level of service where we should get average down speeds of 50 Mbps. We only on average get 25 Mbps down. What is their solution? Pay them $75 "truck roll" fee just to come and check the pedestal (ugly green box outside near the sidewalk). They won't even come out unless you agree to the $75 "truck roll" fee. If you have another choice, get something else. Okay, maybe not AT&T. But consider another ISP if you can. Service has been out randomly during the week as they do maintenance. And for hours in the middle of the night. Sure glad we don't have tv service with them anymore! read more

Literally the worst. If I had any other internet option I would choose something else. When I moved recently, cox told me service was on at the new house. It wasn't. When I called, I had to go through multiple reps until I got one who sort of knew what they were talking about, but they said they would have to send someone out to check the lines. I made an appointment for that Saturday at 10 am. Nobody showed. When I called, they told me that I didn't have an appointment. I'm sitting here waiting for them and they spit in my face. So I make another appointment. The earliest they can come is almost a week later, but I can't be home when they come... Whatever, the previous owner had internet, so they don't need to come in the house, just fix whatever lines outside. The technician calls me and says all of the lines outside look fine, they'll have to reschedule when they can come inside. Of course this means they'll want to charge me for running new lines through my house. Unbelievable. So I watch some videos and figure out what to check myself. I open the box up... And I can't believe it. I literally can't believe what I'm seeing. The line is just disconnected. I plug it in and reset the modem and now I've got internet. How can every single one of their employees be so inept? read more

If I could give them a zero, I would. No integrity. The worst customer service. Shady. And heartless. My grandfather died. We called to cancel HIS membership. Then start a new lower membership one for my mom to have in the house while we get it ready to sell. They did not change the membership. They put my grandfathers previous bill and a whole new month with things we canceled IN MY MOM'S NAME, are refusing to fix their mistake, and are purposely ruining my mom's credit by throwing it all under her name and will not take it off. And then are barring us from having any cable or internet. Their response was "we can put it under whoever's name we want to make them responsible." And THEN, said "you should have called the night your father died to deal with the membership." LIKE THAT WAS THE FIRST THING ON THE AGENDA. We called after his funeral. I made an account just to write this review that's how much I despise this internet company. If you ever have to opportunity to NOT use Cox then do it. I have never experienced more latency issues, outages, and "scheduled maintenances" than I have in just two year with Cox. Don't do it!! Worst cable service ever!!! I have been a LOYAL customer for YEARS but so tired of them hiking up my bill every month. When I would call they would say, 'it's because our rates go up". Right. My cell phone bill stays the same. My rental lease stays the same for at least a year. Not COX. They lure you in and then in a few months they start slowly hiking up the bill, hoping you don't notice. My service was started out around $150, then crept up to $185. When it hit $200 I was mad. I called them and you usually get offshore people that you can hardly understand. I have had it!! I told them to cut all TV service and only keep Wifi (only because I have to have it for my job). They have ZERO loyalty to keeping their customers. After I told them to cut all TV, the bill went to $100 a month. Then my grandson showed me how to get a couple of streaming channels for only about $5 month. So now I am saving about $120 month because my next bill was going to be $225. I was condescendingly congratulated on the amount of square footage that my residential service is to cover & then informed that it doesn't matter who or what Cox installed in my home, it was my router now. Nevermind that the router was intalled by Cox on the day of setup. I asked to speak to his supervisor and was told that Kim does not take incoming calls. Interesting, because she is who set up the service call to address our slow, spotty service to begin with. I asked how both the person who set up the appt and the serviceman could both be telling me the wrong thing. He assured me that both did not know what they were talking about. His 22 years of experience with Cox trumped anyone else. Somehow he missed the customer service training! Way to roll your service team under the bus! Not a good look COX! read more
