Today I visited the Cox Nursery which is across the street from the store. The store is great but this not about the store, it's about the plant nursery. I purchased some plants and the plants were in great shape but the service I received was not. I was told I couldn't push my basket out to my car by a young man. Ok, no problem but it was the way it was said. I took offense to what was said and addressed calmly, no scene needed. I have to push the cart out cause my mgr said we don't want any accidents. Ok, but your customer service skills lack diplomacy, you're scared that I'm going let the basket run into a car?! Ok, I'm cool with the new policy but as I sitting in my vehicle I see a lady who was probably in her 60's maybe in her 70's pushing her cart full of plants to her vehicle but you stopped me? Puzzling so I asked to speak to the mgr, after interaction I felt my complaint was not received well. Forgot to mention that the young man laughed while speaking to the mgr...heated...no scene needed but you lost a customer and i well make sure to spread the n news! read more

Pros: great produce Cons: I've been shopping here off and on for years and have never been asked if I needed help. I have needed help finding things. Staff stand in the aisles and socialize while one stocks and the other chats with them, don't move to accommodate you trying to get something. So I share with the world how cool Cox Market is with their quality products and competitive prices. But that was so 2017. Yeah, those delightful Clif bars with the Organic ingredients that were $2.29 else where and only $1.59 here have been hiked!! Bummer. Those organic goodies are full priced along with so many other items lining their shelves. When Cox first opened several years ago, it was awesome getting incredible deals on high quality items. Not any more darlings. Rent has probably increased a significant amount. And guess what?? So have the prices of their products. Funny how that works out. Oh well. That's life in the fast lane. I will probably just be buying several health related products that haven't yet seen a 50%-100% price increase. But the rest of my grocery items are going to bought else where. I come here at least once a week. They have THE BEST produce, and a great selection of everything. The prices are competitive even to Kroger and Tom Thumbs, although they stock almost exclusively organic or non-gmo stuff so it's going to be slightly higher than the generic stuff. Very clean place as well. The staff has always been helpful with me. Yes you have to approach them but I've never had to not approach someone at a grocery store. Not sure where all of these other people shopped before. We flip between this store and the Farmer's Market in Downtown on weekends for the freshest food at good prices. My husband and I stopped in this store for the first time and was pleased to see a well laid out market with fresh fruits and vegetables. Prices are reasonable. My daughter is a vegan so I will be bringing her back here to shop, a one stop shop for vegans for sure! I was disappointed that store personnel did not approach customers to see if they needed anything, they just stood around laughing and talking to each other. I had to finally approach them to ask for a certain item and they looked at me like "don't ask me anything". It was clear that these folks did not have much product knowledge. read more

Oh Cox... how much I wanted to just walk in and fall in love with you. Like the cruise you can't wait to go on and you spend the whole time seasick... it seems that most people in the area thought the fresh items would specialize in organic? That is really not the case here... yes the fruit and veg were beautiful and fresh... but i only buy organic. They had a few items towards the back with org on the tag, but alas it wasn't the majority of their space. I do applaud the shelves full of natural food products I was used to finding at Natural Grocery across town, but the natural meat selection looked slim. I'll be back to see if they got it all stocked and if they have some improvement in choices... otherwise I'll stick to the other places I go right now... a "Farmstead" down the street that has amazing "healthy" meat choices. Yay! Cox has arrived on the West Side! Folks in Duncanville and the rest of SW Dallas County might already be familiar with this little family-owned gem of a grocery store, which has been in the community for decades! I've always thought of it as our little Southside Whole Foods. So glad to see that Cox is getting their shine on in the trendy Sylvan Thirty residential/commercial development. They still offer organic/natural products and produce but at prices lower than what you'd find at Whole Foods or Central Market. And in a larger space than the original location in Duncanville. Me likey!! Now that the other retail spaces in Sylvan Thirty are filling up, parking is starting to get a bit challenging but so far, I've only had to do a couple of laps around the parking lot at the most to find a space. Cox Market is a welcome addition to the area where organic grocery stores are pretty much non-existent. read more

The only thing missing at this place is my net zero bread! We come here once a week. Freshest vegetables and fruits anywhere. They have whole grain and low carb options. The prices for some items are a bit pricey but it's a once stop shop. They do have meat options too. They carry a large variety of Waldens, Lilly's and Other keto drinks. They carry plantain bananas and bean sprouts too!!! These two items are very hard to find as well. Not much seafood options. I love the homemade hummus and other dips this place isn't for shoppers who want to pay cheap your gonna pay for quality that will last. read more

Really, I haven't reviewed this place before? idk ... Nice little hometown general market feel going on here. Excellent pricing on BIG avacados, compared to the same size at other establishments. They carry a good brand of tortilla chips there, Leal's. About as good as the El Milagro brand a lot of the grocery stores carry. Of course they carry a wide variety of local grocery and produce products. Pricing can be high but there are deals sprinkled about. They have been here for forever and I hope they never leave Duncanville. read more

Very glad to see if Farmers Market on this side of town! It is pretty awesome, I was expecting more of an actual Farmers Market but it kind of reminds me of a Sprouts grocery store. There is mostly a selection of different grocery Goods like cereals, soaps, Etc. Only one fourth of the store was actually a produce section. However it looks like once outside the other side of the lot is an actual Nursery full of plants! I bought a few pieces of random fruit just to try them out and see if it was a big difference from my mainstream grocery store. The mangoes were so juicy! There were juice beads literally on the outside of the mango! My other items were okay definitely a little overpriced but well worth it if they are truly Farm goods read more

I live right next door to this place, and I love it! They stock the specific brand of Almond Milk I like that seems to never be on sale anywhere else. This in itself gets me there at least once a week. Their fruits and veggies are reasonably priced, and very fresh. They have a wide variety of salad options and a few pre-packed things like a delicious cucumber salad. Make sure you check out the drinks cabinet and the freezer right by the front door. There's all sorts of juices and kombucha flavours, as well as fruit popsicles that are easily missed. read more

Today I had a nice outing with my mom who doesn't get out alot anymore. She loves Cox's Farm so off we went to get veggies. This is a small little family owned farmer's market/natural food store. It just smells so good when you walk in since the fruit and organic foods are by the door. Today they were unloading some of the most beautiful red grapes I have ever seen alongside plump plums and huge mangos. The fruit and veggies are really beautiful and fresh, fresh, fresh. No droopy leftovers here! They also make their own salsas, carrot salads, dips and other fresh goodies, too. The refrigerated area carries a small but nice selection of yogurts, free range eggs, soy and regular milks and other dairy products along with my favorite dressing by Naturally Fresh, WINE AND CHEESE! WOO EEEE! They have a whole area of healthy foods for the family, organic beauty products and vitamins, cool lines of fragrant soaps and body washes, too. Think Sprouts but smaller and family owned and you get the idea. It's well priced, well run and nice to have in Duncanville! BTW, my mom went crazy in there and we had fun! read more

How have I not written a review for this store yet?! For shame on me. Cox is absolutely one of the best kept secrets in Dallas. It is so easy to get great deals on organic produce, and even better, you can do 100 mile shopping extremely easy here. Seriously, check out the beef. The address of the farm and processor are on the labels. How cool is that?! And lets talk bulk. You cannot go wrong with the bulk items, and if you are vegan, this store is definitely your best friend. You can get tempeh, seitan, and dried tofu for fabulous prices. The veggies are super fresh, and you can even buy locally made snack foods! For those who are looking for their favorite national brands, they have you covered too. What I love most about Cox is double fold. The level of customer service you get here is always fabulous. Even the youngest workers are trained to take pride and care into the service they provide. The next thing I love is that the workers are actually my neighbors. I see them around and I like that feel that this really is a neighborhood market. So if you are looking for a chance to really support local while also getting a very competitive deal, you can't do any better than Cox. Pro-Tip: Listen to the other Yelpers. They sell the best tomatoes here, they are so full of flavor. Go to Wal-Mart and buy a regular tomato and then go buy one from here. Go home and do a little taste test and you will be amazed by the difference. Their produce section is a little better quality than Sprouts in Cedar Hill. However, Sprouts does offer some killer deals in their weekly ads. But, Cox Farms wins in the "fresh" department. read more

My friend brought me here because we just had lunch at Ben Franklin's Apothecary. This place is like an indoor warehouse farmer's market. We looked around at all they had to offer. Some of their prices for fruit and veggies were a bit higher than your local grocery stores, and not too much to choose from. I really like their dried fruit and nuts selection. Their roasted almonds tastes better than the almonds from Sprouts and Whole Foods. My mom is a bit particular about dried fruits like the mangoes, and she gave Cox Farm's dried mangoes 2 thumbs up. This is a super tiny market to get quality stock items. I love the little sign hanging at the top it says something like, "Cheap produce is not good, good produce is not cheap..." they only buy quality produce and they let you know it. They have the best avocados in the city! I swear this!! We have been to the Dallas farmer's market, Kroger's, Albertson's, Costco and the mighty HEB. No one carries avocados as delicious as they do at Cox. We spoke to the guy who buys the avocados and he takes a lot of pride in his work. He's an avocado aficionado. Trust in the avocados at Cox. We come by here almost weekly, and sometimes several times a week for our produce. Nothing like great produce to make your meal fresh and delicious. This week they got their batch of rainier cherries. We were so elated! So far we've purchased 4 bags and each bag was filled with heavenly goodness. Oh, the staff is friendly. Mostly young college kids. They always have registers open. You'll never stand for too long. Also check out their soaps. I've tried so many of them and go back for more. I remember going to Cox Farms as a little kid. My parents would let me pick out a piece of fruit just for me, as a special treat. Then service got a bit sketchier, products weren't always as fresh and nicer grocery stores opened up closer to the house, so we just stopped going. Now, I've heard that Cox Farms has changed hands several times in the past few years, and it has apparently been for the better. Again, they have a nice variety of wonderful fresh produce, as well as bulk spice/grain/baking supplies, environmentally friendly home items, vitamins, meats and all kinds of other fun stuff. I like to drop by every once and a while just to see what they have and stock up on healthy stuff for the house. I ALWAYS go there when I need fresh fancy mushrooms (oyster, shitake, trumpet and the like). You know you're an adult when you get excited about a grocery store opening. Only 1/4 mile away from us in the new Sylvan Thirty project is now a store that will finally replace our Whole Paycheck (Whole Foods) trips with items like Vital Farms eggs and Mill King milk, which is hard to find in one place besides Whole Foods. They mainly carry cleaner and organic products so you won't find any Dorritos here (fine by me). This place also has very friendly service, which to me, makes the whole experience even better. Tip: You won't find fresh meats here as their next door neighbors to open soon will be a meat market, so get ready for that as well. read more

Yes! I am SOOO happy to have this market in the hood! Super friendly people, well sourced fruits and veggies, farm eggs by the flat (I often find two yolks in my eggs when I crack them..try finding that with grocery bought "organic" eggs!). I think as much as they can find from Texas is put on the shelves here, including most of the bread/bakery items are from Dallas area bakers.
