Cox cable is one of the most shady business that I have ever had to deal with. They have stated when I try to cancel my Services that I had a contract. Even though I stated I did not want to contract when I signed up for Cox cable, but they stated that I did have a contract with them and that they sent me something in the mail stating that I had a contract. Which I never received this supposed contract in the mail. They believe that they can do anything they want because most complexes around this area anyway, only allow Cox cable into the complex. So buyer beware, if you're getting Cox cable I would go and make sure that everything is in writing and signed by a Cox cable representative. read more

The worst customer service I have ever had. If you want to waste money and time, you can use them. We have been with them for years. Every time if there are internet issues, they either push us to switch plans, and that always come with some unexpected fee. Or sent the technician to check, and if their technician came in to fix their problems. They would freaking charge you. Seriously? I am paying you every month. Now you charge me for fixing your own problems? (their wires or hub in our neighborhood was damaged). Every single time, they charge you. This time we decided to cancel, and they push out 1 gig internet and offer some discounts, of course. Again, a lot of unexpected fee. We have made up our minds never go back to Cox. NEVER!!!NEVER!!! They told us this is not a contract plan, we can cancel anytime. That is why we give it a last try. Now they are saying we will be charged for a cancellation fee, because it's a contract plan. I was warned about Cox customer service being the absolute worst. Yet in AZ they have us over the barrel because they are really the only provider in town. Regardless, I went to this store to pick up my modem, the kid wearing a rainbow mask took my info, grabbed the modem, said it was activated and that all I had to do was plug it in. I went to my new home, did as he said, entered all the wifi info and...nothing. Waited 20 minutes and still could not connect to the internet. I called Cox customer service and after a few attempts to connect remotely was told I was given the wrong modem. He gave me a 3.0 when my account was marked for a 3.1. The rep told me to go back to the store and exchange it. I arrived at the store at 2:01 . Doors locked but plenty of customers and employees hustling inside. I knocked on the door and the head hourly employees didn't even acknowledge me. The dude with the rainbow mask saw me and scurried away like a scared mouse. I will be going back in person so they see my face to complain to a manager but just letting everyone know this store is pathetic and just adds to Cox's piss poor customer service reputation. Top customer service. Our cable box had stopped working about a week or two ago after I had unplugged it (I plugged it in again and alas, it was dead) and we finally got around to bringing it in. This store is conveniently located close to our home and it took us a few minutes to find it. Two employees opened the door for us as we entered and we were greeted in a friendly manner by them and the man at the front kiosk. He asked us what we needed and put us in the queue. Our name was called a few minutes later and Xavier was helpful as we got a replacement box and a mini box for our other tv. Easy process, we were in and out in about 10 minutes and Xavier even escorted us to the door, where several other employees thanked us for coming and wished us well. Cox has definitely stepped up their customer service and even though this was my first time visiting this store, first impressions are telling and I can tell you I'm impressed. read more

Let me start off with the good... My experience in this particular store was very good. The staff was extremely helpful and they got me in and out quite quickly. that, however, is where the good experience stopped. Since installing my new Contour boxes...I have had nothing but issues. Not only did I have to take half a day off from work to have them installed, they have not worked right since that time. I have to repeatedly reset my box to make it work. Finally over The weekend, I called and I had Cox do the reset. The box started working again. I then went to tune into my MLB package that I subscribed to, it would not work. When I called Cox, they told me that since I got new boxes it would not work and they would have to fix that. Why the technician would not know that, I'm not very sure. They were able to get the MLB package working after about 25 minutes, but they were quite clear that they had to resubscribe me and that my billing would probably be wrong and to watch for it and call back if and when I saw it was wrong. Here we are two days later. Box not working again. I called Cox and they can automatically detect that I've already called for something today so I get placed through to a person. Again in defense of the individual, she was extremely nice. Unfortunately after 30 minutes on the phone we could not get the boxes going. She let me know I would need to have a tech come out and as you would expect - another 1/2 day I will need to take off work. I let her know I would schedule but would probably call back to cancel as I was fed up and would probably change to direct tv. She showed her care about this by thanking me for calling cox cable and told me to have a nice night. Next call...direct tv. read more

This experience was much better than I was expecting. As soon as you walk in there is someone to greet you, find out why you are there and sign you in. They don't make you take a number or anything like that. They have screens up in the store that tell you who they are serving at that moment and who is waiting and what number you are in line. It's pretty high-tech and makes for a pleasant wait time because you aren't wondering how long you will be there. Everyone was very nice and helpful. read more

Couldn't be happier to cancel my Cox Service after years of being a customer. They have a new tactic where they hang up on you, after transferring you around several times, when you call to disconnect. This not only happened to me, but to family and other friends, like I said it's a new tactic. They shut off my bills, I was not getting them via mail or email, and that was done by Cox, not me. Meanwhile, my bill was increased. Called and reported this to them and the operator/Customer Service person said, "yes, I've had several people complain about how their paper statements have been turned off and they aren't getting email statements either. You are like the 5th person today to say this". If that is not admitted fraud coming from the horses mouth, I don't know what it. Couldn't be happier to cancel their service. Cox, why does the store have such limited hours? Having customers come by to get their own equipment, is a huge TIME AND COST SAVINGS to Cox. I can't understand why the store opens at 10am and closes at 6pm. The hours should cater to your customer's needs, so they don't have to take time off of work. Many of your clients work 8-5, or later, making a weekday impossible to swap out faulty Cox equipment. Saturdays are available, but only for 4 hours and Sundays the store is closed. I recently went to the Cox store in Scottsdale to arrange having Wi-Fi service activated. As I walked in I noticed about 10 customers waiting and figured this was going to take a while. To my surprise my wait was only 10 - 15 minutes. As my name was called I told the young man what I wanted and less than 10 minutes later I was on my way out the door with a modem and the account set up. What a great experience this was. I don't know how there's a lot of negative reviews on this Cox store, but personally I had a great experience at this location. Was instantly greeted by staff with a smile and he was very nice and quick, and my problem was quickly solved and I spent minimal time there. Docked off a star mainly because I've been very frustrated with Cox in the past and with the inconsistency that I've been getting before. To be honest, even though it's been pretty positive the last couple of weeks, the inconsistency of service is still there for various situations. FYI: If you're coming in trying to complain about bad internet, just know now that during this time with COVID going around, there's a high chance it is bad because people are all staying home and you will experience packet loss and some abrupt stops, but I know for sure that once this cools down, everyone's internet will get better. This review is for this particular store, not Cox in general (who would get a pretty low review from me). After moving, my Cox bill was almost double the price I was promised when I established my new service. After several phone calls to Cox and at least an hour of my time, I had made no progress. I decided to visit this store as my last resort. After walking in, I was immediately greeted by Michael who listened to my spiel (now perfected after having to explain to multiple billing reps). He quickly found the reason that the other reps were unable to get this fixed. After making the necessary updates, he gave me his email address and told me to reach out if I had any questions. About a week later I got a phone call follow-up from Michael to let me know that the changes were in effect and that I'd get a credit for an overpayment on my previous bill. If I need to contact Cox in the future, my first choice will definitely be visiting this store rather than picking up the phone. read more

Wouldn't you think a company in the communications business could communicate? Pretty simple, right? Well it's not really true for Cox. I arrived at the store to pickup a box I had ordered over the phone the night before, seemingly a pretty simple task. I was fourth in line and two people were at the counters waiting on customers. Not too bad, or so I thought. After about a 15 minute wait it's my turn, or so I thought, but I'm never called and one of the two people waiting on customers is now busy working at her station on some other problem. No communication with the customers waiting which has now swelled to about 10-12. Finally she puts her phone on speaker and it sounds as though she's waiting for Cox technical assistance. Wouldn't it make sense for employees to have a direct line to technical support? Just sayin! All this time the second customer service rep is waiting on a customer who has come to the store to ask 500 questions and set-up new service at their home. All of this is taking a V-E-R-Y L-O-N-G T-I-M-E. Finally the CSR that has been on hold with tech support gives up and hangs up, but she still doesn't wait on anyone. After about an hour wait the second CSR is done with the new setup and calls my name, all of the people in the waiting area cheer and I tell them I'll try to make it quick. 10 minutes later I'm out the door. Not so bad except for the 1 hour wait. I would have hated to have been one of the 20 people in line at this point. Hopefully they're not still in the store. If they had just let the people waiting know what was going on it would have made the wait much more bearable. Couldn't they have called someone from the back to help? Yes, there were other people in the building. But they never did any of this! It's all about communication folks! read more

Cox is pitiful. After the 3rd receiver broke and I went back down to get another one they actually blamed it's failure on me. I think their equipment is absolute garbage and they will not give you a new unit but only beat up, used, refurbished crap that breaks. Also, the user interface for the box is slow and always freezes. Try Dish Network or DirecTV. P.S. You should see what the installation guy did to my house! Still, I had a deceptive hour wait my last visit, only to be sold a defective router/modem. It happens, I suppose. Returned the unit 18 days later only to see they are now carrying a different brand. Hmm. At least the wait was shorter and the installation quicker this time. A total of more than three hours of my time wasted just trying to maintain my internet service. Hey Cox. Transparent pricing would be great. How about no longer giving discounts to new customers and screwing your existing ones? Why knowingly break new customers' budgets with plans they can't afford when promotional discounts end? Why not stop offering free premium cable for just a month or two or three to trick your customers into paying extra for channels they do not want or need? Typical Cox store. Employees are slow and everything takes too much time when trying to Simply return any of their equipment or even exchange equipment. Personally I have drop their service for cable I found it to be overpriced and under-delivered. So I guess I cut the cord but I'm very happy because I usually only watch about seven channels and I do not need to pay the price of 250 channels. If they were smart they would charge by the channel a few dollars and let people get what they want rather than give them hundreds of channels that will never be watched. I think over the years Cox Dish and DirecTV will be hurting because of all of the streaming options that are much less expensive and give you what you want. The store was very busy but everything seemed to be moving along efficiently and the staff was very friendly. We transferred to the area from Chicago and had a low image of cable companies as Comcast is awful at customer experience! Upon stepping into this Cox store we were blown away by the freshness of the decor and the ability for the staff working there to get people's issues fixed and get them on their way! We ordered our new service with Ryan Schultz who could not be nicer and more professional. This guy is passionate about what he does and it shows! He easily explained their cable bundles and assessed our needs as to not waste our money or time. We totally appreciate that! Ryan worked very hard to make sure we were so happy with our new service and constantly told us he appreciated us choosing Cox. Stanly was our installer who came to our home. He continued right on Ryan's passion of service and product knowledge. Stanly was super positive, friendly, smart, and helpful. We went over our wishlist for locations in our new home and everything was set up perfectly. Stanly even had some suggestions as to other equipment we may need if we didn't get the best wifi due to our home design. Ryan even called us after installation to make sure all was good to go! It was a bonus that Ryan happened to be from Wisconsin (where we lived before Chicago)....so we had great fun talking about sports and such while he was waiting for the system to update our information. Thank you Cox for hiring such great staff....they made me feel important, like a family member, cared for, and appreciated. Bravo! read more

They were great. I visited between 4 and 5 today. They did a good job with social distancing and masks. The gentleman who worked the greeter station was friendly and helpful. He did a great job juggling the customers to limit the number of people in the store. He greeted me. Asked me to wait outside until there was an available seat. All good! Then a young woman arrived without a mask. First, he asked her if she had a mask. She waived a laminated card claiming "I have this thing that says I am exempt." He was great. He said "ok then we can help you ouside". She protested. He was respectful and firm and continued to give her options. She decided to put on the mask that she had in her handbag. She got a chair to wait inside and then put the mask under her chin. He came by and reminded her that she needed to keep the mask over her face. She put the mask back up over her nose and mouth. Eventually, she left without being served. This is a challenging time for everyone. Thank you for being firm but respectful keeping your employees and customers safe. Well done!! read more

Cox is the worst internet provider you can have. Choose anyone else. I am going to switch to Century Link, here's why: In these crazy times of COVID-19 other companies have stepped up to support their customers, Cox has all but stepped out. They are of no help when you call them. If you try to, be prepared to be on hold for 30+ minutes. They will blame lack of Wifi connection on anything but them. My Wifi is only out for 2 to 3 hours a day. (Typically starts around 3:30pm) It works perfectly the other 90%. Will Cox address the issue? No. They will tell you a service time on the phone. Then you'll get a text with an entirely different time. There is nothing you can do about it, everything is automated. You can TRY to call but you'll be on hold again for another 30 minutes and have to reitterate every problem you've had. Even when they did FINALLY send someone out ( had to call multiple times a week for about a month) and The technician still would not enter the home, despite the person on the phone saying they would. The problem is still not fixed. Every time I call they try to sell you a protection plan that doesn't solve the problem. This has been a terrible experience with this company as a whole, not just this store. How can they not understand that people are working from home and rely on internet connection. And worse still I work in the medical field and cannot continue my work at home. Cox is terrible. Choose any other service. If I could give 0 stars I would. read more
