Delicious macchiato and delicious pastries. I did get me some of their granola before heading out on a hike. I love visiting local coffee shops, especially when I'm in town in different places so this one is no different. I love the chandelier in the coffee shop. It did add to the ambience. Service was nice, quick and helpful. I love the vibes that this coffee shop gave off. Local bicyclists riding by making pitstops to get their caffeine fix and some baked goods before heading out on their commute. Definitely will visit again.

Very tasty scones! We both tried the 3 cheese dill scones. The servers were working their butts off to get everything out quickly and correctly so I appreciated them. The inside was a bit noisier and busier. There is outside seating, and the patio is dog friendly and was a lovely table to be at this morning.

I always hear great things about Coyle's and finally got to check it out today--for me it lives up to the hype and then some! The shop is tidy with a minimalist but cozy vibe and counter service. There are lots of spots to sit, which I liked (I feel like a lot of local bakeries just have a table or two as an afterthought). We were a bit late in the day so selection was a bit picked over but we snagged the last kouign-amann (so crispy and buttery with wonderful crunchy caramelization), and a flourless brownie (rich with a really interesting almost umami flavor). I love that the pastries are generally pretty small so you can sample a few without getting stuffed. There are giant, decadent slices of cake and puffs of meringue that I will have to try another time. I am excited to add this place into my regular rotation!

This review is specifically for the savory scone - filled with herbs and two types of cheese...it is so damn good! I was totally not expecting it when I bit into it. Perfect texture too!

How I heard of this place: It's in the neighborhood, so we often walk by Coyle's, but never felt the push to go inside. On a recent visit from an out of town guest, we decided to give it a go, as it's one of the only cafes in our 'hood which we haven't yet tried. Type of cuisine: Coffee and house-made pastries. Ambiance: Quaint and minimalist, the space includes a street-front windowed barquette around the front of the establishment, a few other tables at booth-like settings graced the space around the order and display counter. Service was friendly and warm, pastries plentiful and display nicely presented. Interior seating taken, we opted for one of the outdoor tables and chairs under the small overhang on the sidewalk. The cool bench and mini desk seating, which was always our favorite part of the cafe is no longer there. What I ordered: For me, a 12-ounce mocha ($6.20) and seasonal rhubarb danish ($5.50). For my sister, an Americano and ham & gruyere croissant. For the littlest one in our party, an orange-vanilla Italian soda and Swedish shortbread (with caramel & chocolate). What I loved: The tartness of the rhubarb on the danish. Why I loved it: It's a friendly spot, passerby also content to stop and chat with those of us seated outside - especially when tiny puppies (namely, Kester) look up so sweetly. Cost: Average to high

Coyle's Bakeshop in Greenwood is everything a neighborhood bakery should be -- warm, inviting, and full of tempting treats. My vanilla latte came with a little foam heart, the perfect start before diving into a buttery ham & cheese croissant, rich millionaire shortbread, and a seasonal peach tart that tasted like summer. The upside-down blueberry cornmeal cake was a surprise favorite. The staff couldn't be nicer -- genuinely friendly and happy to chat while helping you choose. It's the kind of place you linger, soaking up the good vibes and the smell of fresh-baked goodness. Greenwood, you're lucky to have this gem.

Stopped by Coyle's on a wall through Greenwood. Love the selection! The cake was amazing and my latte did not disappoint. The staff was super friendly and I even got some bergamot marmalade that I have been using to cook with and trying out with different flavor combinations. So much fun.

A ham and cheese croissant that the attendant said is not a ham and cheese croissant. There are several on the tray.

It's ok - but not much better than that. Their butter croissant is a pretty small croissant. Tastes fine, but so small. I asked if I could have the ham and cheese croissant in the picture. I was told that it's not ham and cheese - clearly it's ham and cheese. The attendant wouldn't sell it to me. ugh... there were several on the tray shown

Walked in around 7:45 this morning (8/12) for the first time. The pastries looked delightful, so I ordered a chocolate croissant and a seasonal fruit croissant. I also ordered an espresso macchiato. Both were delightful, one of the best chocolate croissants I've had in the US, and the baristas pulled a wonderful espresso shot for my coffee. Great cozy atmosphere on a quiet(ish) street corner with indoor and outdoor seating in the shade. Will be back soon!

Great place!! Love the bustle of baking activity going on and the incredible smell of fresh bakes! Happy to find some jam (for homemade cookies!) and try some of the famous carrot cake; which I will take on a hike today.

Hands down one of the best bakeries in the city - every item is careful and delicious. The shop itself is simple and welcoming, staff are friendly and helpful. Plus: they still (see my prior review) actually care about steeping time and have an amazing selection of tea. Remains one of my absolute favorites.

Americano (was really good!) and a kouign amann with a pain au chocolat
    Anne M.

Cute bakery in the Greenwood area, was pretty busy on a weekend visit. The display case is packed with delicious looking food so took a while to choose. I ended up tasting a pain au chocolat and a kouign amann (since they are bite size!). The pain au chocolat was cold and didn't have a buttery and crumbly texture which was disappointing. The bite size kouign amann was incredible and I wish I had two of those! My Americano was also very good. I was surprised how reasonably priced it was but likely wouldn't try their version of a pain au chocolat again. Maybe the croissant has better texture. It's a little difficult to find on street parking especially on the weekend, but that's not their fault. Will be back to try a slice of cake and update based on that experience.

Cute local bakery! I went on saturday morning at 8:30am and you could tell locals frequent this place. I got a few pastries to share: - Savory bisuit: crumbly, but wish it was flakier (had more of the bread-like texture). Didn't feel too heavy on the plus side. - Canele: quite yummy with a good crust but also wished it was chewier. - Kouigh-amann: could taste the cardamom! Its a small pastry but a good complement to a black coffee. Americano: pretty mild but not bad

It's a decent amount of biscuit with large chunks of ham and there plenty of seating to relax and enjoy the morning that isn't hustle and bustling like in downtown. Their breakfast sandwich is literally $13 for a $5 sandwich. Today I had a simple drip coffee. This was $5.77 Then, you notice a jar for tips, and it has a sign that says, "You have already tipped, but jar is for more tips if you want to" So, yeah.... This means already damn expensive items having tipping built on top of the pricing, and the biggest issue is that you are tipping without your own choice, AND it is done before you have even received ANY service. Wait a minute.. there actually IS NO SERVICE. You order at counter. You operate the card reader yourself. The woman behind counter lifts a coffee pot, and pours it into your cup. That is literally all she does. Then you... go to the other counter to add your own cream. Nobody has come to my table to ask me if I want anything else, or how is everything, etc. Don't correct to clear your own table, because they have it set up for you to do that to. I forgot to mention the creamer was spoiled, so the coffee was not drinkable.

The cafe area is spacious and it had a nice display of chocolate that you could sample and choose from to be used in your drink. I had the mocha with Colombia chocolate. The drink tasted too strong and bitter for my taste, though. I don't think you could make it any less strong because Colombia chocolate seemed to be on the lower side of cacao percentage among other selections here. The bitterness could've also come from the espresso shots too. I prefer Spinnaker's mocha to the one here because Spinnaker's is not as bitter and more smooth. But if you prefer your chocolate more bitter and espresso stronger, you might like Cocoa Legato's mocha better. The place was giving good vibes, so I'd be happy to take friends and hang out and maybe I'll get a different kind of drink next time I'm here.
