LEGIT TACOS... This taco shop in Wynwood had a line out the door today at lunchtime and decided to take a peek. The lady was making fresh corn tortillas on the flat grill almost within my reach. Ordered 2 Carne Asada & 2 Al Pastor tacos for $23.00. They were brought to my table in under ten minutes. While waiting, I organized two flavors of salsa from the kiosk in addition to three bottles of assorted hot sauce that were in baskets on the table. The tacos were slightly larger than the average street taco with a respectable amount of meat and toppings. Both were flavorful and the fresh corn tortillas gently influenced my high rating. Noticed a "Mexa Flights" sign in the kitchen above several tequila bottles and two guys drinking Margaritas at my table in a non-fancy cup. The gender assigned women's bathroom was out of order, but the men's bathroom looked like a comic book store and a skate park exploded. Almost ever nook and cranny was covered with colorful stickers and marker graffiti including the ADA compliant metal handrails. The gray and white mosaic floor added a subtle retro vibe (See Pic and you will smile too).
We stopped by the other night for some tacos and also we hadn't been here in a while. We were not disappointed because their Carne Asada tacos were as delicious as before! The staff were still friendly and welcoming. It is casual with indoor and outdoor seating. Parking is still difficult as before because Wynwood is so popular and filled with tourists as well as locals. It's a must try place!
NOT a fan. Unsure what the $2.43 service charge is for? Didn't enjoy the taste. Food arrived quickly and order was correct.
Probably the freshest tacos ive had but the long line behind me confirms that these are the best in Wynwood. Had the trio tacos and the tortillas right out of the skillet really enhanced the taste with just a little bit of added hot sauce. Loved the ambiance and the big patio outside watching the traffic and the sounds of loud boom boxes.
My friends and I came here on a Wednesday night for dinner and loved the vibe. It was raining so we sat inside (there are tables outside) and stood in line to order. I believe they had a special going on for the day and we ended up with 3 chicken tacos and several beef birria tacos + chips and guac. It was a little confusing to order because we also had ordered margaritas but they did not charge us for those so we had to stand back in line and re-order them again. It was definitely hectic inside but a fun vibe as everyone was seemingly getting ready to go out for the night so there were a lot of young people drinking. I thought the tacos were OK, with the beef birria being my favorite, but they were priceyyy. The margaritas were good as well. In all honesty, I probably would not return here. Given the fact there are so many places in the area to try, and I was not completely loud by everything, but at the same time, I really did not have any complaints.
They still got it. Back when I lived in Miami, we used to love coming to Coyo taco for incredible food and then to dance in their speakeasy in the back. There is usually a long line when I've gone, but it goes by pretty quickly. They have seating both outside (with umbrellas) and inside. A lot of it is huge table communal style. They have a big variety of tacos, burritos, and bowls to pick from. They even do specials on certain days. If you are dining in, you order your meal at the counter. Then they give you a number for your table. Typically you bus your own table, but the times I've gone, the staff is so sweet and attentive that they've grabbed my finished plates for me. I love this spot and it'll always have a special place in my heart.
Love the vibe and the tacos, pssst nothing but flavor to the moon. I ordered the salad bowl Pollo Carbon - organic greens, guacamole, pumpkin seeds, cotija, chipotle, pico de gallo. Food came pretty quick with the amount of patrons. The chicken seasoning was amazing and the texture was crisp and tender all at the same time. Finished off with a fresh frozen slushy drink. Not to forget the speak easy club feel in the back of restaurant with the reggae vibes.
Service really stands out here. All the staff are friendly and welcoming, which makes the experience even better. I ordered tacos and quesadillas and enjoyed both. From the tacos, I'd definitely recommend the birria (not pictured), and for the quesadillas, the steak one was my favorite. They have outdoor seating as well as communal indoor tables, which gives you good options depending on what kind of vibe you're looking for.
Coyo Taco always slaps. The food is soooo good and the margaritas are cheap and delicious! I have tried so many tacos here and have loved every single one. The outdoor dining area is small but nice and a great spot for people-watching. Their happy hour deals are good. Definitely one of my favorite spots in Miami for a casual bite.
Went to Coyo Taco in Wynwood and had a great experience. I ordered the steak carne asada tacos and the esquites, and both were really good. The esquites were especially flavorful and a perfect side. This location has a speakeasy in the back, which makes it a really fun spot to visit. The speakeasy has a great vibe and definitely adds to the overall experience. We went later at night, so there was a long wait for food since people from the speakeasy and all around Wynwood line up for tacos, but the line moved quickly. Service was good and the food came out fresh. Overall, this is a perfect late night food spot if you're out in Wynwood and want something satisfying with a fun atmosphere.
Late-night bites at Coyo Taco never disappoint Grabbed a few tacos from their happy hour menu, took a little sneak peek behind the restaurant into their hidden speakeasy, and instantly remembered why I love stopping by this spot whenever I'm in Miami. The tacos were so good, and honestly, if I didn't have a bedtime, I probably would've stayed for the vibes in the speakeasy too
The quesadilla was obnoxiously good. There's a very long line for both elements of this place. The taco line and the club line. Once you past the dining area there's a small, dark back room where various music is played depending on the day. The first day I went was rave music, the second day was hip hop/ rnb. There is not much seating in the dining area so once you get your food it's best to leave. The place is pretty sticky because of how busy it is. The tables really don't get cleaned at a sufficient pace. The food however is worth the wait in that line. I got the Birria quesadilla and it was very well packed and wonderfully flavorful. My friends left for the club part and I remained an additional 20 minutes just so I can finish my quesadilla. Worth it.
Good food, friendly service. Good taco's, just not the best I've had, definitely more on the authentic side. They come 2 in an order, I couldn't just have one type of protein though, so I got an order of Al Pastor and an order of Carne Asada. Definitely recommend Al Pastor. Also added a side of esquite that was probably enough to share. Topped it off with a $5 Coyo Margarita. I went late enough to sit outside and people watch without getting too hot. I personally loved the R&B/90's vibe music, not too loud, just nice enough to relax and vibe after a long day, or before a long night! read more
Tried out a new (to me) taco place. Nice vibe & decor. You order at the counter & they quickly bring your food to the table. Fabulous tacos! Such a random find in downtown Miami. We heard this was a crazy fun bar scene but didn't have any reason to stay after dark. Stopped by at 1:30pm on a Friday and it was packed. Waited 20 min in line for food and another 10 min for delivered food. We had the carne asada quesadilla, carnitas and mahi mahi tacos, and pollo burrito bowl. Also don't skip the guacamole if you're a fan. Debatable on the best. Pick your favorite - they are all incredible. Service was great. They treated us all like we were the most important people there. One of the managers even offered to let me grab a bag of chips without waiting in the line (paid on the back end of the restaurant). My husband forgot the kid drinks and the hostess just let him have a couple cups. Things that don't matter but really do, you know? Hardest part was finding a seat - very limited. My 13 year old son almost got in a fight with an older man who assumed he could beat around a kid to steal his table while we waited in line for food. Note to others: seats are constantly turning over. Don't really need to sit while you aren't eating. Be patient and chill... you're in Miami! read more

Delicious Tacos with delicious combos. Drinks were delicious as well as the food. Self service but it's quick. Feels like you at an outdoor picnic with huge tables for gathering. Decent prices for being in the city. I look forward to another visit. read more

Had a wonderful experience at Coyo! I came for the Ribeye taco (which had been recommended) but they were out sadly. I ordered carne asada tacos instead with a side of guacamole and a margarita. The tacos were delicious! The steak was tender and flavorful with the right amount of salty. The corn tortillas were soft and dreamy and I usually don't like corn tortillas. The guacamole was delicious and my margaritas was $6 with beautiful presentation and a solid amount of alcohol. If I had any advice for improvement it would be to put a friendlier person at the register. read more

A favorite and very frequent spot I visit every time i am in Miami which is my hometown. This place has a speakeasy in the back on weekends that has. small sized room with hits from Y2K. It has plenty of inforo and outdoor seating and also has bathrooms. They offer drink machines for refills and they also sell alcohol. The food is so good. I always get the shrimp tacos, street corn, La Rubia beer and a bowl of rice and beans. You wont regret it. A great spot to stop by before, during and after the club. They are opened late but lines sometimes can be long. read more

Came on a Tuesday night for taco Tuesday + $5 margaritas. Although very busy, I waited in line for 15 min and got my food in another 15 so not too bad. The birria tacos had so much flavor and the tortilla was nice and crispy. Inside is nice but it gets very packed so if you aren't a fan of big crowds order for pick up ! read more

My friend friend and I walked to Coyo Loco from our hotel last night and were very impressed. The staff are so friendly, the service extremely quick, and the food was to die for. We each ordered three different kinds of tacos, the corn dip, and guacamole with chips. There are also eight different types of salsas and dips on the condiment bar. This is my second time at this location, and I will certainly stop again next time I'm in Miami. Francela and Louis went above and beyond to make sure our experience was exceptional. The restaurant itself is also very cozy with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. read more
I was walking from the convention center to my hotel and decided to have dinner. Mexican sounded good, being one of my favorite foods. I took a while to order, because a young lady was not only taking by orders, but she was pouring the shots of tequilas as well. So I ordered two beef tacos that was absolutely delicious. I also ordered a burrito bowl with chicken. It was fantastic. The taste profile was a bit different that LA, but I enjoyed it. I sat outside on the patio. Nice breeze, great food, cold beer, what else does a man need? The only changes I would make is to add chips and salsa and give an option of hard shel taco. read more

Glad I came across this Coyo! Stopped in for lunch hour and tried their Burrito Bowl it's the best value and savory food served fast. The chicken and sweet plantain bowl is my favorite and goes well with their in house sauces. The cashier is friendly and made great recommendations. read more

We were in Miami for the night and we found Coyo Taco highly recommended on TikTok. It was in walking distance of the Moxy Hotel where we were staying. We decided to try the BEEF BIRRIA QUESADILLA and 2 margaritas. Both items didn't disappoint. The lady taking our order was very knowledgeable of the menu and recommended good things. Inside the tables were nice and intimate. Outside there was very nice scenery. 10/10 I highly recommend! read more

This was a great experience. The staff is very friendly and attentive. I love coming here on the weekends! The food is great, especially the quesadilla. The tacos are really good as well! If you like horchata, order a cup because it's exquisite. There's a speakeasy in the back, the dj always plays all the hits. From throwbacks to new music, it's always a fun time. Everyone is always dancing and enjoying the vibes. The cocktails are yummy! You can never go wrong with one of their margaritas, especially the frozen ones. I highly recommend you check this spot out. You won't regret it! As you walk in, it seems like a regular restaurant and then you get through the door and it's a whole other world. read more

My first Yelp event! I've been to Coyo Taco a few times and can say with confidence their quesadillas and burritos do not miss. They had a chips and salsa station, with a queso dip that was good but spicy. The salsa was made in house and delicious. The event offered two drink tickets which you could redeem at the bar for a premade margarita and your choice of a tajin rim, I give the drink 7/10. The full bar was available and the bartender was very friendly and efficient. It was a great experience as I had never been in the speakeasy. The Yelp community was so welcoming, I made new friends and danced. The live DJ set the mood perfectly playing all the bangers. I will say that it does get loud in there so it can be difficult to carry a proper conversation! read more

The speed of service here is impressive. The execute exceptionally when in high volume. Not sacrificing quality for quick. Even when it settles down it's still consistent. Yet still the customer service is sustained. All employees will stop to give attention to any question or need. read more
We came here on a Saturday afternoon and both inside the restaurant and the patio were packed with people enjoying their food and drinks. They also received a lot of takeout and catering orders. Their menu is extensive and has so many variety of tacos; I couldn't decide which one to choose. Finally, we chose "Shrimp Tacos" and "Al Pastor Tacos". They were both delicious, but Shrimp taco was my favorite; the spicy sauce and coleslaw had added a very nice flavor. The staff are very nice and friendly and also very efficient. read more

I always seem to go to coyo as my intermission from drinking lol the food is so good ! It's worth every minute of the long line ! Love that once you order they will bring it to you !! Nice small place. There's a outside eating area. There is a takeout section where you can eat and then after hours there's a back speak easy place. Excellent customer service. Food is served quickly. Tacos are made fresh. The guacamole isn't anything special. It just needs more seasoning. read more

I attempted to stop by to eat some tacos in anticipation of going to the lounge in the back. Guess which one I succeeded in doing? We were going to give up if the line was way out the door for later this evening, which I've seen all too often, but the line had only a few people, and we were ordering in no time. The menus are in a hanging folder on the way to the order counter so that you can figure out what you want by the time you get there. The inside seating is not huge since it consists of 2 long tables and a few smaller individual tables, but there are picnic tables outside that you can share with strangers/possible future friends. I wouldn't be able to stand the picnic tables in the middle of summer/most of the year in Miami, but the cooler times of the year are perfect for them. The salsa and pickle bar is delightful. Not as roomy as the one at the Brickell location but still with that variety of colorful sauces and the innocent looking pickled jalapeños and onions that I will likely feel tomorrow. Still worth the munch. They have small plastic cups with lids attached to them for takeout purposes and nothing else available to hold the pickled vegetables that are twice their size. I asked for a container for the pickles and was offered a tray with paper laid down, the same platform you get for your tacos. Taco Tuesday seems to be an awesome day to be here. I had the cochinitas tacos ($9) which were part of the Taco Tuesday 50% off promotion, and I got 2 house margaritas (one of which I gave to a friend) for $5 each. 2 tacos, very sizable and filled with tender shredded marinated pork and topped with plenty of pickled onions and cilantro (yes please), for $4.50 on a Tuesday, just a little under the price of a similarly priced reasonably good margarita with excess salt on the rim. Pretttttay, prettttttay good if you ask me. I did lick all of the salt on the rim by the way, even though I'm not a huge salt with the margarita person, since the salt wasn't excessively---salty, dense, if you will. And I did take one whole taco with me in a takeout box because it was so hefty and I'd be so excited to eat it tomorrow. If you find the right time to go (not a Friday or Saturday night), which may be a Taco Tuesday, or a Monday or Wednesday for their other promotions, you may be rewarded with fast service and some great deals. I for one will have to return for the back lounge part of the whole reason to come here! read more

Stopped in for some food and vibes after an event with the girls and the tacos or service didn't disappoint. Dario got us seated and took our order. He was great across the board. We got the birria, duck, and mahi tacos. And omg can I say I never knew how I needed duck on a taco before! Soooo very flavorful and just chefs kiss. I'm already planning my return to order again! Birria is my go to so they can never miss. Now the fish tacos, I was impressed by the nice fresh whole filet. Not the usual little shredded pieces I see some places. The fish was really good but could have used a little more seasoning. The mango salsa I believe is what we added to it made it very delish! My margarita did what a margarita should so that's always a good thing also! After we ate we went into the cute little party room in the back and enjoyed the music for a bit before heading in. Came in after the yelpies for a bite to eat. Jose was amazing !!! He served us and gave such great suggestions. We got the duck, birria, and fish tacos. They had a special tonight which was an extra taco on steak, birria, fish , and one more I can't remember . It was perfect as I was with two other people so we were each able to try one. The margaritas are always good and I love the sauces. They had music tonight in their speakeasy which was good to know because I thought it was only weekends. Though it's counter service at Night it does get a bit loud which is something to note especially if you are looking for a quieter night read more

Was told by an employee the beans in the burrito are made with pork fat in Miami, but someone else said they weren't. Which is true?
I hope so, it is really good Mexican food and that would be the appropriate fat to use for taste and authenticity.
Are there any vegan options? Is the taco made with any dairy and egg products?
There is a falafel dish but it has cheese and yogurt. You also have the option of a Salad bowl and just ask for no cheese.
