I found the truck I liked on a google search and one of the choices was Preferred Auto. Their truck was my second choice but stopped there first to check on one unit. Toyota Tundra pickup truck. Alex met us outside, but I was ready for his used car lot tactics. He was super nice, but I knew he was up to something. I told him I want to take the truck for a drive and he immediately agreed? Let me grab a plate... Ok, this guy was up to something. Heh heh, can't fool this old timer. We took the truck for a couple of hours, ran it by my mechanic. Advice from mechanic: Great truck, good price, go for it. Back to the lot... Alex met us and Jake the sales manager and then, holy shit, Jay the owner pops in! He's the dude you see on The Preferred Auto TV commercials. It was funny. Jake is his son. I made my offer, they counter offered with a vey fair price and we all shook hands. As it turned out also, my wife Lisa, knew Jay from high school, so that added another hour of shooting the breeze. I know this is my longest review. The buying experience at this car lot was so honest and upfront just super impressed me. Alex was great and thoughtful. Trust me, this is a great group of people selling cars! I have replaced virtually everything in the front undercarriage including suspension brakes. The gas tank grommet mysteriously started leaking the first time I filled it with gas. That's not the worst part, though. I had to have the head gaskets machined. If you've never had this done, consider yourself lucky. Also replace the air intake and MAF. Long story short, I have over $3,000 invested in a car that is worth $1900 trade in. Yep, I bought a POS. And I'm still paying for it.

We had zero communication from anyone at Evans on registration paperwork we needed, only to spend hours waiting to hear that they had lost the title and apparently decided to not inform us. They then decided to give me a dealer plate that I learned I was unable to use out of state (and apparently in state as the BMV says that it's only for dealer owned vehicles) on a trip we had planned post purchase. I am now out quite a bit of money on having to purchase extremely last minute plane tickets and a rental car because I cannot use the vehicle I purchased and have already started making payments on.

First off i bought a 2006 Dodge Ram on Oct. 19 2017 On the 20th I took it back to the dealer and to their credit they replaced the rear end which had basically locked up, the water pump which was so bad it wiggled(bad bearing)and fixed the tailgate which didn't open Congrats for decent service after the sale.They did give me a loaner which broke down and then brought me a second loaner which I drove for two weeks. On which they had to bring me a real dealer plate after the cops threatened to impound it cause they put a copy of a dealer plate in the back window lol. So much for quality cars that have been inspected by a mechanic. Seeing how while sitting for 3 hours a couple times in the last month roll directly from an auction to the lot and get sold quickly. So now we get to the problem I have. Initially the offer was 1200 down payments around 450 a month I wanted a little less down so I gave them 900 down and my 2001 Subaru and thought I got 435 a month payments for 36 months. Yesterday i get my payment book and its 51 months. That's another 7000 dollars. Even though the salesman Jason insisted that it was only 36 months. Me and the wife were both exhausted at 7pm after work and being there 3 hours. So when he came back said 435 36 months we didnt even read it just signed it. I looked at it today it said 51 months. Guess that's on me according to them for not reading before I signed it. According to state law you are supposed to get a truth in lending statement. We got zero paperwork when we left just a paper plate and a loan payment coupon to make our first payment. Everything else even title work done electronically. So after they read my review which I took down they offered a solution today. I turn back in the truck, they get my first payment I just made back for me and my 900 dollar down payment. Then he charges me 25 dollars a day for rental. And I am out anything for my Subaru which they gave me 2000 trade in for. so out of a car and I owe them basically 750 for a rental. Oh and when my credit score hits 659 to 700 he will refinance it at a lower rate. Had he offered to rewrite the loan back to the way it was at first and I pay 300 more down and get my car back or equivalent of cash. I wouldn't even be writing be writing this Post. Selling so many cars they are opening a new store in Bluffton Next to the Liquor Store on Highway1. At least you are close enough to get a drink because you may want it before and after the sale.
