Great tortilla soup and excellent for Taco Tuesday. Take out service needs to be ramped up as they get confused easily with orders

Slow and rude. Twice I've called in to-go orders, both times after arriving and paying for the food, I find out the orders were never placed and I'm left waiting 15-20 more minutes. More than one occasion I've been charged extra for items never received, just to met with eye-rolling and smart ass comments when I ask for it to be corrected. Staff is rude and does not care about your time. The food is mediocre at best. read more

Birthday dinner was excellent! First time here and we had a great meal! Service was great, atmosphere is good (I like that its not dark in there) and the food was amazing. So much shredded chicken in the tortilla soup and fresh bits of avocado - fresh and homemade. Delicious. We will be back to this restaurant whenever we are in the mood for Mexican!! I really enjoy the food here. If I'm craving Mexican this was my go-to spot. However, the last 3 times I've come here, the service has been exceptionally poor. I've waited over 40 minutes for a 3 item take-out twice and received the wrong order after a lengthy wait the 3rd time. There's no manager presence or customer service. I hope they recognize their issues and address them because I can't risk spending an hour waiting for food, just to leave hungry again. read more

My husband and I either go here or take out from them fairly often. Food is very good a really cute decor. Portion sizes are quite large. Drinks are reasonable. Great salsa and chips served right away. If you like really hot salsa ask for the green salsa they don't put it out routinely but it's delicious. Love their pobalmo peppers. If you want to snack try their appetizer sampler and order a couple glasses of beer or wine and you won't need any dinner. My husband and I ordered it to split and a dinner each and brought our full dinners home. The staff are very friendly and attentive. Prices are very good. read more

Disgusting, the food is bland and the menus are really dirty. I found a piece of stale lettuce on my silverware. Then the food came out bland. Our server Jenny was talking to other coworkers and playing on her phone, instead of attending to her customers. Place is a joke! Fire her! read more

I see there are a couple of professional complainers on here, that didn't like this restaurant or CR#5 in SH. You have same sort of complaints about both restaurants. You probably own a Taco Bell since you try to send people there in multiple reviews. Chula's is a quasi-authentic Mexican restaurant. Good flavors on their dishes, good salsa, good atmosphere, good service. The portions are decent sized, no such thing as an "egg roll size burrito" here. Pure BS. Have eaten here several times, always received hot food, never cold or a "frozen entree". And it smells like a Mexican restaurant, not a nursing home. Why all the great reviews? Don't get it, I thought it was terrible, from the waitress inattentiveness, to the long waits for for food which was mostly left on the plates because it was not good. A few of us were given water to have while we had some chips and salsa while we waited, others like me had to ask, and why would I have to wait 10 minutes for a glass of water? The wait in the food seemed forever where I actually had to get up and ask if there was a manager which I never got to see as the food finally came, the manager still should of come over and asked if there was a problem. I never had a lousy taco, but both mine and my mrs didn't like ours. How can a Mexican place not make a good taco? I'm not from that area, but if I were I'd never come back. read more

This place is awesome. Martin was our server and he acted like an owner. Was so friendly and so helpful. Made us special vegetarian enchiladas. Our son had the pollo asada burrito and it was delicious. He did a fabulous job checking on us and brought us extra chips and salsa and gave us to go menus for the future. We ate off the specials menu and it had excellent prices. 6.99 and 7.99 plates of food. Music was on but not too loud so you could have a conversation. Bravo!!! Will be back for sure. The Coyote Super Burrito with pork is amazing. Chips and Salsa is great. Service and atmosphere fantastic.

I don't know why anyone would give this place 5 stars. I called to place an order on Cinco de Mayo. And the girl on the phone said, sorry we're slammed. You can call back tomorrow. Called the next day and placed my order, picked it up 35 minutes later and took home a bag full nothing but horrible food! I ordered flautas, they were stale, greasy and cold with nothing to go with it. Carne asada tacos, that were cold and the steak was tough. A large queso, that was put into a small cup. And two fried ice-creams that had very stale corn flakes on it. It was so stale, you couldn't eat it so, they had to be thrown away. Horrible place! read more

Food was tasteless, cold and this is definitely a place to avoid! Let's start with the chips and no taste salsa, down hill from there. Ordered a combination of tamale, enchilada and renalo. Tamale was cold with dried out chicken, beef enchilada was tasteless and the pepper was a piece of mush! This is a poor example of a Mexican restaurant. They got it wrong here at #4. Went twice, both times thought food was bland. No spice. Wanted to try something I had never tried before and the waiter said if I didn't like it I could get something else. Tried a combo and ate one soft taco, other item I took one bite and did not like at all. Just wanted to get another taco but waiter never came back to see how our food was or if we needed anything I honestly thought he went home. We finally had to go to the hostess after waiting forever and the waiter was standing there talking with the hostess instead of checking on his customers. We have been to Coyote Rojo on Spring Hill Drive many times. The food is always wonderful! Their Carnitas Pulled Pork dinner is enough to feed at least 2. We always sit in the bar area because we want Jacqueline to be our server. She is the sweetest, most knowledgable waitress we have encountered in a long time. She is always ready to answer a question or just chat a bit without being pushy or hovering! We love this restaurant. read more

Last night my father, my mother, my niece, my sister in law and I came to eat here. We were seated and greeted by our server, Pedro. After receiving our chips and salsa it took 20 min for our server to come back and take our order. We also had a horrible time getting more chips and salsa. We need ordered 3 steak fajitas to eat there and one to go for my brother. We would ask our server as he was walking by, ignoring us, for more and it would never come. He would come check on us one more time before our food would come an hour and 20 minutes after we sat at our table. By this point my mom had to leave and my brother showed up. My brother took my moms food, expecting the to go order to show up at a later time. After the food came we never saw the server unless we tracked him down. My sister in law ordered a Queso dip and when brought out he brings tortillas with it. She asks for chips and he says it doesn't come with it and she would have to pay. Half way through the food, we still have not received to go order we ordered. I asked the server if we could speak with the manager and he mumbled something under his breath. I asked again and he said he was busy. I asked a third time and he said I couldn't speak with the manager and Pedro stormed off. I went searching for the manager myself and found him. When I was speaking with him Pedro came up and started mocking me and back talking the manager. The manager asks him to leave and he doesn't. I then ask him to leave because I don't want to speak with the server at the moment. At this moment he says there's no reason to speak to him this way and said we could settle this out in the parking lot. The manager did little to calm down the situation other than saying he would handle it. I go sit down and wait another 10 min and no one comes to let us know what's going on. I have to go search for the manager AGAIN and he says the food is free. I tell him we still haven't received my to go order and the manager says we never ordered it. I then tell him I don't care if we pay I just want my mothers food. We end up having to pay for that in the front then leaving. Absolutely horrible service and management. We come to this place every time I visit my parents here in Spring Hill. Will not recommend to anybody. read more

I went to Coyote Rojo with several other people, on a slow Wednesday night, and none of us were satisfied with our food. All of our meat was over cooked or was held in a steam table too long, as it was very dry and tough, and none of the food had any flavor. Sadly, the service was not much better than our food. Our server was very quiet, and seemed to be in a bad mood. He didn't smile once, and seemed bothered by everything we asked for. When I asked to speak to a manager I was told they didn't have one there at the moment, and I didn't see any other employees the entire time we were there (about an hour and a half because the food took almost an hour to come out, and we were the only customers. Any reason it should take that long? Nope!) I was even more disappointed by Coyote Rojo than I was by Azteca. They're basically the Denny's of Mexican food, poor service, bad food, and no other customers if it's not a notoriously busy time (like Sunday morning or Friday night, when everything is busy). read more
