A work colleague first introduced me to Cozmos saying that they have amazing Greek food. I'm glad that he did because their food quality, portions, and pricing can't be beat when it comes to Greek food in Ottawa. I always order the Lamb Souvlaki Platter with 2 sticks of lamb. I like that you can specify meat doneness, since I like my lamb medium rare. The platter comes with rice, potatoes, Greek salad, tzatziki sauce and pita bread. I always order an additional tzatziki sauce and another pita bread because they're very good and make perfect leftovers for lunch the next day. Everything about the Lamb Souvlaki Platter is perfect in my opinion and I especially love their potatoes. They are always crispy on the outside and soft on the inside! They pack the included pita right on top of the souvlaki and potatoes in the same container and I love the flavour the pita absorbs from them. You need to try this platter if you haven't before. I keep taking out-of-town family here for Greek food because it's worth experiencing. Something also worth mentioning is that Cozmos has a good online ordering system that makes it super easy to order ahead and pick up at a specific time. We ordered the shredded chicken this time. Family platter, you get a very generous portion. Usually we get the chicken skewers, I would personally recommend them better. I found the meet to be a little blah. Not much flavour to it. I always love the salade very tiny cut and just the perfect amount of everything. The potatoes are cut in very thick pieces. This time they were soggy and not crispy. However, they still tasted amazing. I just prefer them crispy. The platter came with rice. I am not a fan of rice I had a bite of it but not my jam. I've been wanting to try this place for some time now, but I'm rarely in the neighbourhood at a convenient time. Recently, I was in the area around 4pm and figured I would get some takeout and save it for dinner later that evening (don't worry, I sampled some as soon as I got home, so I would be able to review the food fresh and not as "cold leftovers"). Overall the food was very good and the portions were very generous (I'll admit it, I'm easily impressed by size, lol). I ordered the three meat platter ($11.99) for my husband and I to share for dinner, and I got him an extra gyro pita ($4.43). We had leftover salad, rice and fries. The three meat platter was huge! It's rice, french fries, shaved chicken, pork and gyro, a pita, and a Greek salad. There is no way I could finish a platter by myself, and I do have a hearty appetite. I found that the amount of meat was actually not that much though, and it was mostly rice and potatoes, but for the price, I can't complain too much. The meats were flavourful and I loved the crunchy parts. The rice was good with little cubes of carrots in it, and the potatoes were crispy and not too mealy despite them being thick cut, which is my least favourite cut by the way. So the fact that I didn't hate the fries is saying a lot. The salad was fresh and I love how they give you the dressing on the side automatically so the salad doesn't get all soggy. The olives still have the pits in them, so be careful! The tzatziki sauce was thick and rich. The pita was soft and slightly chewy, just the way I like it. Service was quick and efficient, despite staff being chatty with regulars. There's a big seating area to eat in if you so desired. The restaurant is in a tiny strip mall with 2 other businesses. I find Cozmos a little inconsistent, but everything considered, I still always enjoy the food. I've eaten in at the restaurant a couple of times prior to the pandemic and a couple of times for delivery since. The Greek salad is actually one of my favourites because of the shredded lettuce and lots of crumbled feta. The cucumbers and tomatoes are chopped and Kalamata olives are on the side. Not sure why all of the ingredients in smaller sizes like this matters, but I love it. I feel like you don't get too much of one thing, like a mouthful of tomato or whatever it is. The feta is generous but doesn't make it too salty, either. The Greek salad comes with both dressing and tzatziki, which I also love, though I can never toss it the same way at home (the dressing comes in it a separate container) and I find that it tastes way better when they do it for some reason. I do appreciate the separate container, though, so that it doesn't get all soggy by the time you get it delivered to you. To be honest, I've never really strayed away from the three meat shaved pita. The friend who introduced me to Cozmos suggested it and it's all I ever get. Maybe it's the glutton in me (maybe as in definitely), but it has shaved chicken, gyro, AND pork. The regular version comes with lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, cucumbers, feta, and tzatziki, but Cozmos is where I found out about "Greek style" and that's just how I always get it now. The authentic "Greek style" comes with potatoes, tomatoes, onions, and tzatziki, no lettuce, cucumbers, or feta. I always get the Greek salad, anyway, so I don't really worry about the lack of veggies. As for the potatoes, yes, I totally get a side of potatoes, too. There's something special about their potatoes. They're cut thick and are more steak cut fries than steamed potatoes like I'd normally expect at other Greek restaurants. They're also tossed in garlic butter, which I can never complain about. I get a side of tzatziki to dip the potatoes in - something about dipping them in ketchup doesn't feel right to me. The tzatziki is thick and comes in 8oz (a cup), so it'a ton to go nuts with and even add more to your pita or platter. The husband isn't usually a fan of tzatziki, but he had a ton of it the last time we ordered. In terms of consistency, the last time I went in person, I asked a couple of times about the Greek style, since I noticed she didn't put the potatoes in my wrap like I ordered, but it was busy and I didn't have time to get back in line before having to go back to work. No issues before that. The last time we got it for delivery, the potatoes were kind of soggy (nothing the air fryer couldn't fix), but I was craving the kind of perfectly crispy potatoes we had the time before that. Very inconspicuous place. Doesn't stand out, but is the best greek food in the city by FAR. Potatoes are to die for, salad dressing and pitas are amazing. Prices are amazing, too. The salad itself is pretty "meh," but that's not the highlight of the meal anyway so I couldn't care less. Have been to this restaurant more times than I can count. They usually do a great job taking care of customers, as well. Only issue I have is they aren't always great at answering the phone!! read more

My new go to when I want Greek food. The food has always been good and the portions are always huge! My typical is to order the family combo with the 3 shredded meats (pork, chicken and gyro). It also comes with a ton of rice and potatoes, salad and 4 pieces of pita. The combo can easily feed 4 people and no one will be left hungry. Great family deal options (meal for 4) but both times I have ordered here, I have found the meat/chicken/pork to be dry. I went in at lunch time today and bought 2 sandwiches and potatoes. I live about 3 minutes from the restaurant so the food should not be cold when I arrive. We've had dinner from here multiple times and we have always enjoyed our meal. The portions are very generous for the pricing. We usually get one souvlaki meal, pay an extra $3 for an extra portion of meat and get a small greek salad. The portions are so large that I have enough for a chicken/pork Greek salad and my husband as the rest to enjoy a proper souvlaki dinner. All of this for $20 which you can't beat! One of our favourite places for almost the past 8 years. Great portions and price. Very friendly staff. They have streamlined the food prep a bit so it is faster now but portions have stayed about the same. Walk in the door and feel like family. Really fresh and authentic Greek food! I came here after Boxing Day shopping and tried a gyros wrap, a three meat wrap, and fries (with garlic oil). They were about to close, but still let me sit in the seating area (light was off when I went). The meat in both was really fresh, flavorful, and tender. It was VERY satisfying and good value as it came to $5 with tax! The fries were slightly crispy on the outside, and fluffy on the inside. I got extra sauce to dip them in! I never thought to eat at this place given its location and somewhat dingy immediate surroundings. I was surprised to jump on Yelp and see all the positive reviews so this evening I decided to give it a try. I am glad I did! I got the falafel platter. The falafel is freshly made on request, so it's piping hot and crispy. The potatoes are homemade thick cut (no skins) and are perfectly seasoned. The portion sizes are generous: 8 falafel balls, salad, pita, rice, potatoes (I had to get half the platter to go). The rice is just okay though, it's bland and dry, and they give you too much. You're best off substituting the rice for more potatoes if you ask me. Overall, the food was great. The seating area however is another story. The table was so dirty and sticky we had to clean it ourselves with a wet cloth, and even afterwards it was still sticky. There is limited seating and the decor is plain. The AC was cranked which was totally unnecessary given the cooler temperature outside. This place is more appropriate for lunch than a formal dinner. You order at the counter and then they bring you the food. You won't have a server waiting on you. This place is always super packed with lines out the door (according to what I heard from others). The price is reasonable ($10.99 for a huge plate of food). I'd come back again for sure. read more
