It's now a week later and still no response. No pictures or report cards during the entire stay. Poor customer service. Will never use them again. My girlfriend asked me to write a review for these guys since she loves them, but hates signing up for things on the interwebs, mostly due to laziness! She has been taking her 16-year old Border Collie/Australian Shepherd mix to doggie day care here for about a year and couldn't be happier with the services provided by Cozy Canine Camp. The biggest reason for the coveted five-star review is these guys actually care about the animals. They are genuinely happy to see my girlfriend's dog and take great care of her. They pay attention to the dog and report back on how she was during the day and clean her up a little if she gets a little dirty playing in the yard. Your dog will not be trapped in a cage if you bring it here, they have a play yard for the animals. My girlfriend has actually seen a dramatic improvement in her dog's physical and mental health. Bringing her here keeps her active, which is important with her old age. As a border collie she still has a lot of energy, though the body is not always capable of expending it as quickly as in her youth. Giving her the opportunity to be outside for a longer period each day lets her get the exercise she needs at her own pace. We thank Cozy Canine Camp for that. Aside from day camp, they also provide boarding services, and they are extremely flexible. Need an extra day? Good to go! No charges or change fees, these guys are happy to care for your pet for as long as you need them to. As long as space is available, you can even make a same-day reservation without a fee or penalty for late notice. We had a very disappointing experience when they cancelled reservations for our two dogs for 12/24/22 through 1/2/23 over the holiday. At first, we were told they were just cancelling check-in on the 24th due to a power outage. No one contacted us after that. We were assuming we would be able to bring the dogs on the 26th. We left several messages and emails. Finally on the 26th we were able to get through to speak to someone who told us that they had to cancel the reservation for the rest of the week because kennel cough was going around their kennel. They were not even going to call to tell us! We were left scrambling last minute to find someone to take care of our dogs so we could leave to go out of town. Hi, I just looked at my review and saw your response. I wanted people to be aware that your charges by the calendar day are not the norm. I have boarded pets for over forty years and Cozy Canine is the only kennel I have come across with such a policy. The late night potty break is only included for the first night, after that there is an extra charge. Why not charge for extra services if required and not charge if they are not. I have since used Rover and I highly recommend the site. They have wonderful people who will care for pets in their home for a lot less money. read more

Another doggie daycare told me my dog was too aggressive to come back to their facility. I've worked with dogs for most of my life, including several doggie daycares, and I tried to explain being a pit bull mix, he's just more vocal and plays a bit rougher than other breeds. I reached out to Cozy Canine Camp and the owner, Kathy, told me they understand the difference between aggression and overstimulation. After his first day, the staff told me they found the perfect playmates for my dog and they couldn't wait to have him again. I'm not a person who rants and raves so I'm just posting this because I think you should have the information / facts. I would want to know if I were you. I dropped my never unhealthy 8 year old mixed breed large dog (golden + husky?) on Tuesday and he was dead on Saturday. Every time I left him at CCC he came home so very skinny so this time, since it was going to be a full week, I asked them to do what they could to encourage him to eat. They gave him something that must have given him gas so he got the condition known as bloat (as presented in the movie Marley and Me). By the time the staff noticed, he had gone into shock. By the time they got him to the vet, his stomach had basically died and he couldn't be saved. The vet called me and said she was shocked at how far gone he was by the time he was brought in. My dog had suffered enormously. The owner of the kennel called me about 6 hours after he had died to say: 1) this is the thing she hates most about her job (calling pet owners to say their dog had died) !!! (so this is something that happens often? It's about how hard HER job is !?!?!) 2) she's personally lost two dogs this way (again, all about her - but I know she was just trying to show some empathy). 3) the kennel did nothing wrong (of course). I understand bloat is the #1 killer of large dogs. Do you think kennels maybe know this? I am of course devastated by my loss... and of course everyone thinks this about their dog - he was the most loving dog-companion I've ever had. read more

My Mom has been boarding and taking her dog here for over a year. We decided to board our dogs together for a week while vacationing. We scheduled doggy daycare daily and we asked to have them groomed on the day we would be picking them up. When I picked them up the staff was very unfriendly- they seemed to stare into their computers instead of communicate with me. After paying with my American Express, the woman told me they do not take AMEX and would have to reverse the charge. After getting no answers on how my stay went, they grabbed mine and my Mom's dog from the back room. My dog is young and very energetic so they were circling me and making it very difficult to walk- it was another customer that offered to help me to my car, not the staff. (They were still staring intently at their computers) I do not believe that my dogs were well looked after while staying there. My mother's dog had lost the fur around his eye and had severe conjunctivitis that required him to wear a cone. After the staff wouldn't answer questions about their stay, their report cards said exactly the same thing. The words were verbatim about their stay. I would hope after spending $600 for both dogs they would spend the extra time to give a genuine description of their stay. We spent the money to have them groomed, but unfortunately, they did not smell of shampoo and my dog has had issues with his anal glands ever since. So I don't believe they did everything we paid for. Additionally, my dogs peed excessively when we left and drank an overwhelming amount when we got home so I'm skeptical about how long they spent caged up in the grooming. I'm sad to leave this review because the few times I've seen the actual dog handlers, they've been very kind and friendly with my dogs. However, everything besides them has been a terrible experience. I would recommend looking elsewhere where you can get updates on your pet. read more

Bottom line: do not use this place for any grooming needs if you want anything more than a bath and toenail trim and/or you'd like to pay for the services of an honest business. Their idea of a 'groomer' is someone with professional grade clippers and no grooming skills. The owner is too busy packing for a vacation to speak with clients. I took my rescued Standard Poodle in for a puppy cut and to have his face trimmed up - no biggie. A puppy cut is very simple as it is the same length all over and pretty much the regular non-poofy poodle haircut. Nothing fancy at all. When I went pick him up I was shocked/horrified by the appearance of my dog. He was shaved down to his pink skin all over his body (mind you this is during a wintery snowy week). His face however had not been touched and still had the scraggly whiskers that I brought him in with. I had already paid (unfortunately for me in cash) and he was so anxious I just wanted to get him out of there. We left and I figured I would go home evaluate the situation closer. When I got home I looked him over carefully and noticed issues including clipper burn all over his belly from being cut while the blades were too hot. His ears were just the same as when I took him in. The line on the back of his head where the shaved hair meets the longer hair cut at a diagonal. I would not dislike CCC quite as much if they were able to communicate with me and rectify the problem. I called later that day to speak with the groomer and left a message to have her call me that afternoon. Instead she didn't get back to me until the following day and then started to lie about how he had mattes all over and that is why he is shaved so short. My dog did not have "mattes all over." I asked to speak to the owner and was told that she'd get back to me by the end of the day. A few hours later the groomer called back and said she had spoken with the owner, Laura, and that she was packing for a 1.5 week vacation and would get back to me sometime after that. This place is a joke. I will NEVER take my dog back there again. read more

When we discovered "CCC", we couldn't have been happier. We had tried a few overnight boarders near us, and were not happy with the service. The dogs came back dirty, smelly, and with a depressed demeanor. I found CCC on a recommendation from another pet owner at the veterinarian's office. We scheduled the dogs for the next overnight trip, and met the staff and saw the facilities. I was impressed both by the cleanliness, and the usability of the service. I can schedule my reservations online, and get a confirmation without having to make a phone call. Over the years that we have patronized CCC, our dogs have been greeted warmly by the staff, and they come back happy, healthy, well-fed, and well-exercised. They administer my older dog's medications, and get everything right. Additionally, I have boarded our cats here too for extended trips and received a multiple pet discount, and have seen the "kitty corner" play area - it is clean and organized just like the dog play areas. It is great to have a place that I can trust with my beloved pets - CCC is great at what they do! read more

Event though he was happy to see me when it was time to go I could tell he had a great time. I only called once to check on him because the staff made me feel like they really cared. If your dog's appointment doesn't get cancelled for some unknown reason, you might get a mediocre grooming. My puppy got groomed here twice. One of the grooms neglected to clip my dog's nails. Another forgot to trim his ears and tail. On the third grooming appointment, I arrived to have them say that I had cancelled the appointment online. Which I had most certainly not done. I waited to speak to the owner, who was rude to me and did not rectify the situation in the least. The customer service here is abysmal. read more

Had a couple of mediocre dog groomings here with patchy spots left on the dog including not trimming ears or tail. Also forgot to trim nails one time. Not wanting the hassle of finding a new groomer was the only thing that kept me coming back. UNTIL... I made my most recent appointment. When I arrived the receptionist told me: Oh, we cancelled your appointment and filled it with another dog. Can't help you today, you'll have to come back another day. What??? How does that happen? They gave me no notice that the appointment had been cancelled and were not able to tell me how it happened. I talked to the owner who seemed very annoyed that I would "bother" her with this. She said she didn't have time to deal with it because she was doing payroll. Again, what??? Terrible customer service. I certainly won't be bothering them again with my business. read more

I brought my Golden Retriever here last fall to get one last good hair cut before winter. We are somewhat new to the area (3 years) and haven't found a groomer we love yet, so I went to CCC based on the good reviews. I won't be going back. I asked for a good amount of hair to be trimmed off, but not a shave since fall was approaching. When I picked him up, it looked like all they had done was bathe him and barely cut anything besides his toe feathering. I know he's a big dog with a lot of hair (85 lb. Golden Retriever), but they charged me $85 for not much done. I've gotten a better cut at PetSmart for cheaper. Another thing that didn't sit with me is that I never got a phone call saying he was ready for pick-up. Six hours after dropping him off, I was wondering what was taking so long so I called. The receptionist informed me that he had been done for hours now. My dog is a rescue so he doesn't do well in kennels and barks excessively, therefore I do my best to not leave him at the groomers too long. I didn't appreciate not knowing my dog was done being groomed for HOURS! Needless to say I'm still searching for a good grooming place that isn't big-box :/ read more

Can you give zero stars?? We used Cozy Canine Camp for almost 10 years without serious incident. Sure my dogs always seemed overly thirsty when they came home, but we figured it was ok. The most recent time my dogs stayed for a week at the kennel, we picked up my older dog in somewhat dire straights. She had a massive, bleeding ear infection that had clearly been going on for some time since she developed a huge aural hematoma. Her ear was swollen several inches thick. She was clearly in pain and could barely hold her head straight. The vet was closed but the next day she had to be taken for immediate surgery where the vet declared it the largest and most serious hematoma they had ever dealt with. She is still recovering 3 weeks later, still wearing a cone, still has drains in her ear and will really never be the same again. CCC told us they knew of the hematoma the day before we picked up the dog but the owner told the operators not to reach out for us (which clearly goes against what we agreed to when we boarded them, we expected to be contacted in a medical situation...at the LEAST, and for medical attention to be sought if necessary in our absence. Worst of all, not only did the owner/operator never call us or reach out to see how our dog was, they refused to answer our calls or emails. We expected, after 10 years, at least an apology and some care shown for our dog who was seriously injured/sick during a stay at their kennel. Nope - to this day, not one word out of them and a flat out refusal to speak to us. So aside from being furious that we were not contacted when our pet (older pet at that) was seriously ill, they've made it clear they could care less what happened to her as a result. Since this incident I have heard form at least two other people who have had similar issues at CCC, one of whom lost their dog as a result. There are some wonderful care places for dogs in AA County, don't make the mistake of sending your pet here. read more

They stop taking the dogs out to go to the bathroom at 5:30 PM so I had to pay per day to make sure he got taken out at least once after the sun went down. My grandpuppy, Knots, had the very best experiences at CCC every time he attended Doggie Day Camp for exercise and socialization. He is a very large yellow lab +? 100 lb rescue pup. He was happy, healthy and exercised every time he attended. About 1 time per week Sept and Oct 2014. I always could tell how much fun he had by the way he acted dor the two days following his camp days. This was not so at another local camp we tried. The staff is fantastic, the hours and care cannot be matched. I highly recommend CCC. read more

I have to say we were VERY disappointed in this place. We had our dog groomed and my mom had hers groomed on the same day both dropped off within an hour of each other.. there was another dog being dropped off for grooming at the same time and when my mom dropped hers off there were 2 other dogs being dropped off.. that's 5 dogs within an hour (that we saw). We dropped off at 11am and got a call around 4pm to pick up our dog. That is absolutely ridiculous.. I should not be dropping my dog off to sit in a crate all day when it's already a nerve wrecking experience for them and when there's dogs barking constantly. We picked him up and his head and body were not proportional at all and so many choppy areas.. we were so excited to give this place a try but it seems they take WAY too many dogs at once. Just beware that you will have to leave your dog for 5 hours. read more

Do not give this place any of your time or money. When a groomer there cut my standard poodle's hair earlier this week, she trimmed him in the exact opposite way than what my partner and I requested. So, first, this place didn't listen to us, but on top of that, the way she did cut him was horrible - I don't know how to groom dogs, but the line between the long hair on his head and the way-too-short hair on his body shouldn't be a diagonal. She also nicked him a few times, enough to cause concern. Then, when my partner complained, she was treated by the groomer as if she was wrong. AND the owner was too busy "packing for vacation" to make a phone call to hear my partner out or ease the situation. Simply put: this place must not be interested in building and keeping a happy community of consumers, and that means bad service and potential dangers for your pet...stay away. read more

We have a cat who cannot groom herself. Yup. She is special alright. So we get her lion clipped by Cathy who is so good with her. The cat literally struts around with swagger afterwards as she feels clean. It's hard to find someone willing to groom a cat without sedatives as they can be pretty crazy sometimes. We had a great experience with Cozy Canine Camp. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our dog was happy and clean when we picked him up. They even put an adorable holiday bandana on his neck! They offer a nice variety of services which is convenient and helpful and the nicest part is seeing how sweet the staff is with the dogs. They really seem to enjoy being with the dogs which makes it easier leaving them. They offer extra walks during the day and one in the evening for an additional cost which is nice if you are worried about your fur baby being in a cage all day. They also have a doggy play area where the dogs can play together. My dog loves to play with other dogs. I highly recommend this place and will be using them again. read more

We've been taking two of our Shelties to CC for daycare for about a year now. They were referred to me by a good friend who has used their facility for six years without incident. The staff is friendly, the manager Mary is easy to reach (in person or by e-mail), and my dogs come home happy and tired. Update: we dropped our dogs off for daycare last week and we're pretty nervous as one of our dog has separation anxiety, all in all we picked them up and they were very happy and tired!! I felt very relieved to see them comfortable. I know they are in good hands and take care of our pups. I also love to see pictures of my dogs playing on their Facebook page! We use them for nail trimming for our two dogs. One of our dogs HATES getting her nails trimmed but CCC groomers take extra care and caution with her. They're super understanding and patient with her which I appreciate as she is a rescue dog. We will be boarding with them this summer and don't feel nervous about it because CCC really does take care of the campers. The offer a lot of options for the overnight pups. read more

My husband and I appreciate that our little girl always seems happy when she visits CCC. The day care price is very reasonable and we have even been kindly accommodated when we had traffic issues and ran a few minutes late in picking her up. We love the "report card" we got after her stays and the staff really seemed to enjoy our girl. What parent could object to hearing nice thing said about their baby? The reason we can't give a higher rating is because of their pricing system for boarding. In our case, we had to drop our girl off at about 2:30 PM on three Fridays a month. My husband, a night worker, would pick her up on Saturday morning as soon as CCC opened. We we were charged $60 for way fewer than 24 hours of care. That seems excessive to me and while I understand that CCC charges by calendar days, I think that they ought to give consideration to the fact that we were steady customers and that they really did'nt have time to provide services on the pick -up day because my husband arrived right at opening time. As I understood it back when we used CCC, although the staff manager lived next to the business, there was no overnight staff. It seems odd to me that a 12 hour day care stay was $20, with the place staffed and services provided, but an overnight stay that consisted largely of unstaffed hours cost us $60. Having said all that, another slight annoyance was almost always never having the phone answered by a staff and constantly having to leave a message and wait for a call back- which sometimes did'nt happen, necessitating us having to play phone tag to talk to someone. But please consider, after reading my comments, that CCC always took good care of the baby and had she not strained so hard on the leash to get in the door, we might not have considered returning. We would gladly board again if their pricing system were more flexible to better meet the customer's needs. 3/18-Since posting the above review a few years ago, our beagle has developed and has been getting treatment for cancer. She is in great condition. But apparently Cozy will no longer accomodate her, even for day care. It seems that Cozy cannot deal with dogs with special needs, even when they are not in any acute illness stage. I find this disappointing. Laura fromCozy Canine Camp replied to my 3/18 post by saying that the reason they cannot accept our dog was because chemotherapy makes a dog's waste toxic to handle and chemotherapy is administered with protective suits snd ventilators.While it is true that her waste is toxic to handle, I would counter by saying that I do not think that any responsible doggy day care employee with common sense would consider handling ANY animal's waste with bare hands. And her waste can be cleaned up with any disinfectant, which should be a practice used for ANY dog waste. As for her medication, my dog receives her chemotherapy in pill form, and there are no protective gear or ventilators involved, other than gloves while we are giving her the pills. I did not insist that my dog be able to play with other dogs (more for her safety). The point I am trying to make is that there are other communicable medical issues that doggy day care facilities have to deal with, such as bordetella outbreaks which shut down facilities, not to mention ticks, fleas, and other parasites, and kennel cough.My dog's cancer is not "catching". I simply needed a place that I thought could handle dog's individual need. When we first toured CCC, we were told that medication and special feeding regimens could be accomodated, for an additional cost.I don't need them to administer medication, as I do that at home. I find it hard to believe that a reputable day care/boarding facility is unable, unwilling or unequipped to deal with anything other than a perfectly healthy dog. My dog does not require " advanced veterinary care" , as she suggested. For the price that CCC charges, I would expect more comprehensive services. read more

I have been taking my dog here periodically for three years. Always complimented how great the staff was and how everyone should use them. However, their new online system is terrible I brought my dog here for three nights, to be picked up early the fourth day (following final,third, night boarding). I was charged for another night of boarding because that is how their system works. How can they justify charging customers for services they will not be receiving? If you are in need of dog boarding or daycare, a nicer establishment with outdoor pool is just a few miles down the road, which a previous customer of CCC recommended due to their unhappiness with CCC. We have taken our dog to the day care and it was fantastic! The training at Off Leash was wonderful, Samantha is a great trainer. We will not be giving them our business any longer. We had a terrible problem with the groomers. Two cancelled appointments, one when I had just had surgery, and 4 messages that went unreturned, and three call from different people who had no idea what was going on two days later, this is why you get a one star rating. They were nasty, unapologetic and down-right rude. It is such a shame that the groomer was so nasty that we stopped utilizing the other services at Cozy Canine, because we thought they were a valuable asset to Murphy's training. Three years ago we rescued a dog who had not had any socialization her entire first year of life. She was so skittish and wary of strangers that we hesitated to try to board her at all. We tried several places before we found Cozy Canine Camp. We keep coming back because the staff there has really worked with her to ease her separation anxiety, even though she just goes there two or three times a year. They remember her, and now she remembers them. They make suggestions about the activities she would probably like (a daily walk) and those she would not (half day day care). They put her in groups with compatible dogs. All their personal attention paid off--Sally trots off happily with the handler whenever we leave her and is content and relaxed when we pick her up after our trips. We drive miles out of our way to Crownsville because we like Cozy Canine Camp so much. read more
