They know their personality and their moods and it's like a second home to our dogs whenever we board them! The daily report cards are always beautiful action shots of our dogs, and I can tell they're in great spirits whenever they're playing. The staff is always helpful when it comes to drop offs and pick ups giving us the grace and space needed to get them through the door without accidental run ins and they always keep us up to date with what they need from us in regard to their shots/immunizations. Recently in March we boarded the dogs and after 4 years finally got them groomed before coming home! They were both so soft and clean and they even had their nails trimmed! Happy Tails, thank you for caring for our dogs and proving peace of mind while we're away from them. Thank you for helping us ease Quentin back into socializing, I couldn't thank you more.

I am very disappointed with our stay recently at this "pet resort". The manager in the ad states…read morethat there are purified air, music piped in and orthopedic dog beds provided to each guest. The website states that there are terf play areas. That is simply not true - none of it. We recently used Happy Tails as a last minute place (our usual dog sitter had to cancel last minute). The communication was not great at all. There was miscommunication about what updates I should be getting (we ended up with 3 over a 10 day stay). I called at least 3 times and it went to voicemail. I left messages and nobody called me back. I only got updates when I called and asked for them. I talked to 3 different people and got 3 different answers as to what kind of updates I should be getting. The only updates we ever got were 2/3 pictures on a "report card". Nothing about her well being or demeanor. When I picked her up she was FILTHY (it would've been another $50 - $70 to get a bath upon pick up). The amount of dirt I washed off of her was disgusting. She had open sores on ALL of her legs from what I assume were pressure sores from laying on the hard cots (not the orthopedic dog beds as the manager states). One of the sores was actively bleeding. A few of her toenails were split. When I questioned what happened they seemed shocked and took pictures and told me they would investigate and call me back by the end of the day.... 3 days later, still waiting to hear. She was exhausted....like wouldn't even open her eyes (and she's a 2.5 year old ACTIVE dog). I understand that its stressful and can be tiring, but she slept from noon until the next morning. For what we paid for our 10 day stay (super expensive) compared to the treatment we received we will never return to this place. I would never recommend this place to anyone. Ever. We will be going another place next time we need someone to take care of our furry family member.

I knew this was the place to board my Coco when other dogs were coming in tails wagging and smiling instead of seeming terrified like other boarding places. I LOVE that they take photos everyday and upload them to Facebook so you can see your baby and what they're doing. Anytime I need to board my dog she will be going here. Honestly- just look at her smiles here!

In the past, they've only used our leash to bring them back and forth to the front and not during grooming. However, today they decided to use our leash during the grooming process and he bit through it. I then verified that my warning about the leash was never communicated to the staff. The owner was then called and they stated, "nothing can be done." One of the employees could tell I was frustrated and then offered one of their grooming leashes which is for a small dog and would not be appropriate for our 90 pound GSD. I just thought it was interesting that "nothing could be done" for a customer that has been going there for years and has used both their boarding and grooming services without any prior issues, has referred plenty of customers to their business, and made sure to warn them prior to the appointment but the staff failed to pass the message along.

With only a few minutes left until closure, Maria didn't hesitate to give me a tour of their beautiful building. They also require an "orientation day" to ensure all pets are a good fit for their facility. I know my sweet baby boy becomes increasingly anxious while I'm away, so I was concerned about how he would handle his orientation. Erica contacted me to let me know he was uncomfortable, but didn't use that as a reason to say he wasn't a good fit, as I assumed they would. Instead, she gave my pet some individualized attention and moved him to a quieter section of the facility, Cedar Park. With updates throughout his orientation from Erica, I was assured he was in truly caring hands. Still, I was a bit nervous to board my dog for 5 days as I traveled across the country for a seminar. Erica suggested bringing him in again before my trip to get him further acclimated. While I was still a little uneasy about leaving him, I knew he'd be in the best care provided in my absence with Perfect Pet Resort. The atmosphere is beautiful and the service is outstanding! I can't imagine leaving my pet anywhere else in the foreseeable future. Thank you Erica & Cameron for ensuring my pet had the best stay possible. Thanks Maria for reassuring me that he would be well cared for. Until his next stay...

I am not writing this review to tell you not to bring your pet to Central Bark Landover. I am…read morewriting it because I wish someone had warned me to ask the right questions and go in with your eyes open because what happened to my dog Sage could happen to yours. On June 25th, I dropped Sage off at approximately 7:30 AM for a supervised daycare session. At 11:30 AM I received a call that there had been an "incident." I left work immediately to find my dog with a deep, open gash beneath his eye, bleeding and in pain. Another dog in his play group had bitten him. I rushed Sage to an emergency veterinary clinic where the wound required surgical stitches to close. He will carry a permanent scar under his eye for the rest of his life. I paid upfront before they would even begin treatment. When I reached out to the owner, Mickey, seeking reimbursement and answers, I was told the incident was an inherent risk of group play and that the waiver I signed at enrollment limited their responsibility. I have not received reimbursement, and the matter is still unresolved. Also, I was told in person there wasn't any video evidence but the owner via email said that she reviewed the video evidence and can not share it with me. If you choose to bring your pet here, I urge you to: ask specifically how dogs are evaluated and grouped by temperament, ask what the supervision ratio is in the play area at all times, ask what happens if your dog is injured and who bears the financial responsibility, and read every word of the waiver before you sign it. Also, ask for a tour of the facility and how do you check on your dog when you are not around. I loved the idea of this place and I wanted it to work. But after what Sage went through and how it was handled, I feel a responsibility to share this so other pet owners can make a fully informed decision.
