This is a family-owned small restaurant that is located in a strip mall. While the outside appearance might be deceiving, it is very cozy, just as the name suggests. The food is delicious, great portions, and the prices are on point. The owners are warm and welcoming people. I enjoy the atmosphere inside; it is a step back in time. They keep it very well maintained, and they take pride in their business. They have been there in this location for many years. They are consistent regarding the quality of their food and the service they provide. I really want to see this small business survive this pandemic. Not much to look at from outside. Looks like an old dated dinner on the inside. 1st thing you notice is it's small. It's located near the dollar tree and laundry mat; it's not the best location in the world. But once inside you see a very nice breakfast menu. The inside looked dated but looks to be pretty clean. It's a very Cozy place ie Small. The service is ok; the food is pretty good. if you are looking for a good breakfast and priced right this place is a cool spot to check out. I went in to have a quick breakfast with my boyfriend, we walked in and was stared down by a woman working behind the counter. She never greeted us or told us where to sit, so we proceeded to seat ourselves at the counter top, she still only stared at us. We brushed it off and began to review the menu, & she finally comes to us to say "You don't want to sit over there?" As she's saying this she waved a Togo bag in a motion of shooing us to the small table. My boyfriend and I looked at each other and decided we don't want to support a business that disrespectful & acts as if they don't want our business. This is a small local diner and I will first say don't come if you're in a group over 4 people. This tiny spot can not accommodate more than a party of 4 comfortably. Separately, this husband and wife team does not have other staff available to help so it is very slow service. I had the eggs, hash browns, and sausage. Nothing worth being excited over honestly. It was all super salty and I didn't want to finish my plate. My sister ordered the blueberry pancakes which were decent enough! She was pleased but barely got through them. Servings are very large. Cozy homey little place tucked away in the corner next to the dollar tree. Clean and not too busy... husband and wife run establishments. Friendly enough.... this is the only place that can get my bacon and hash browns extra crispy and not greasy! I love them crispy!! Eggs are bland but there's condiments on the table to add to your liking. Not a super fancy place but does the basics--eggs, bacon, hash browns, coffee--right. Waffle felt more like pancake mix cooked in a waffle iron. People were nice. Didn't seem like they spoke English well. I've seen reviews critical of their lack of politeness. It might be an issue of language barrier. I think when you go to a breakfast place that has an old school diner vibe like this one, you need to check your ego at the door and remember that your not royalty and are eating eggs and bacon. I was really excited to try this place...but I was left really disappointed. When we got there there were only two other tables with customers. We sat down and we asked for coffee. When our coffee came the lady just left it and walked away, I had to flag her down to ask for Equal or Splenda for my husband and I. She brought us 4 packets only. When we asked for refills she huffed because we asked for more Equal. I had to flag her gain to ask for more coffee. I hate asking for a coffee refill, I think 99% of places offer you coffee wether you need it or not. I should not have to beg for coffee. Food was meh. I ordered french toast and it was made using multigrain bread. It was definitely not what I expected. It was dry af. I also ordered a short stack of pancakes and those were really good. My recommendation is to skip this place. If you like bad or dry customer service then you'll love this place. The price of our food wasn't too bad but I could pay the same for better service and better food. P.S. if you give this place a bad review the owner will scope out your yelp to discredit you. After 4 days of hard core drinking since I was off for most of the week, I was able to return here to have breakfast, since I needed to be in San Leandro, so I stopped in for a good old fashion breakfast to try and cure the hang over. I had the Linguica with scramble eggs, hash browns and an extra side of bacon. The real review. I've seen this place and never was around during breakfast or lunch. I made a determination to give it a try and met my buddy there to give it a go. We loved it. A freshly made breakfast for a decent price. We sat at the counter and the lady that served us was very nice. I loved how neat the small restaurant was and how unassuming it was. I had pancakes and bacon with scrambled eggs. The thick bacon was delicious as were the pancakes and eggs. I will be going back there for sure. Is there anything less than one star? We arrive in and three people arrived after us. One person gets their order taken before we do. They also don't have a notice or tell someone if they are a single person not to take a booth. One person was sitting there done with her breakfast reading while people were piling in. When we looked for the waitress, she stopped and asked us to be patient. When the rude person finally left the booth we were moving over there, but the waitress said she'll clean it for us and to be patient. We finally get that booth and the waitress comes to take our order. We order our drinks and my husband ordered his food. I asked a question about substitutions. She said no substitutions, then started to walk away. I told her to wait a second I wanted to order anyway. She kept stating she was going to get our drinks and will come back for the order but I already knew what I wanted she asked again to be patient so I asked her to be patient with us as she wanted us to be patient with her. After we ordered, all the other people got their drinks, and order's taken while we still had nothing. We tried to tell ask her and she asked us again to be patient. There is definitely a language barrier. We decided to leave and as we were walking out the door she said again to be patient with her. We turned back to explain, and she barred the door like we were going to attack her or yell at her or something. When we again tried to explain through the door. The cook came out (we assume her husband) and started yelling at us to leave when we were already outside the door. We tried to explain, and all he did was get angrier and yelled at us even to leave and never come back ( like we would). We do not recommend this place nor will we ever visit it again. They sure know how to throw down a really hearty and good tasting American breakfast. Everything on the menu is good and at a great price. This diner is very unassuming, tucked away in the corner of Floresta Center off Washington avenue. My husband and I decided to have breakfast here after our morning of shopping since it's a hole-in-the-wall type restaurant. Those are the best, right? We both got the same thing; waffle with 3 sausages links and 2 eggs (mine soft scrambled and his were over easy). The eggs were perfect, many restaurants overcook or undercook the eggs. If I could give zero stars I would! First of all, the waitress didn't write down what I ordered which was the bacon and egg omelet. Then when the food was brought out, I had eggs over medium...then she wanted to give attitude when i asked her to just get me scrambledeggs.....those came out undercooked....huh? I have to confess that I was reluctant to write a review for Cozy Kitchen because I wanted to keep this hidden gem all to myself. I've been eating here for years now and I can't be selfish anymore. This place needs all the business and exposure it deserves! Cozy Kitchen is a small local diner owned by a very friendly and welcoming Korean couple. Tucked in the corner of a plaza off Washington sandwiched between Dollar Tree and some nail shops and barbershop. It is often frequented by the local seniors. It really is cozy inside where people come to eat breakfast, sip coffee and read the newspaper. It's NOT a diner like Denny's where people can get loud and rowdy. My favorite breakfast there is the Cozy Special - large hashbrown, 2 sausages, 3 eggs (scrambled or sunny-side-up), half slice of ham, 2 bacon strips, 2 toasts with fruit jelly. Hash-browns are made perfectly - shredded and cooked crispy brown on the outside, and soft and buttery on the inside. I like my eggs scrambled and they have always cooked it consistently well - light and fluffy and not overdone or rubbery. The 2 bacon strips are the best I've ever had. They cook the bacon by compressing it with some sort of metal iron on the grill and the bacon comes out very crispy and flavorful. Not a big fan of sausages but they're pretty good I guess. The slice of honey ham is also very good. Besides the traditional bacon and egg breakfast, they have a variety of omelets. I have tried the spinach and mushroom omelet and Denver omelet - both of which are pretty good. All cooked perfectly and light and never overdone or burnt. Overall the food is prepared a bit slow but it is consistent and with QUALITY. Service is excellent. Coffee is regularly refilled without asking. However when it gets busy, service will be slow as the kitchen is only run by the couple. You'll have to be patient. Want fast-food? Go to McDonalds. The only cons for this place is they close around 4 and they are NOT open on Sundays. That's about it. Oh and they only take cash. I'll take Cozy Kitchen over Denny's or Nick's Restaurant any day! read more

I've come back to Cozy Kitchen for breakfast twice now since my original review, and I'll definitely be repeating that trend. The omelets are big and loaded with ingredients of your choice(linguica, mushrooms, onions, and bell pepper). Served with an equally large portion of perfectly cooked hash browns, this plate would be enough to satisfy (pretty much)anybody... Unfortunately, I have (pretty much)anybody's hunger times 3 so after polishing off my friend's omelet, I threw down on a stack of blueberry pancakes for good measure. The pancakes were really tasty, and had a generous amount of fruit. The only negative I could see was that they weren't the soft fluffy dense type that I prefer, these pancakes were airy and slightly crisp around the edges(likely from too much grease on the griddle). Bottom Line: I've found this intimate diner, is a great place to come nurse your hangover and listen to "light rock with less talk", after a night of too much fun... RUDE!!!!! This place is unbelievable! We started off BEGGING for coffee then BEGGING to have or order taken. When the lady finally did come take our order she walked away mid order WTF. Apparently she didn't pay enough attention to the order and brought us what we asked not to be on our sandwiches. When we pointed that we can't eat certain ingredients she wiped off the ingredient (mayonnaise) on one side and added more on the other side. WORST RESTAURANT EVER! This dump is run by a husband and wife team. The wife is horrible. She only cleans the tables when someone sits down. The food was terrible. There is no cream for the coffee just skim milk. When I asked for more water, she took my glass and filled it half way! When my friend asked for more coffee, the waitress gave her the DIRTIEST look. I've been craving breakfast for sometime now and finally decided to go to Cozy Kitchen after seeing a slew of happy people walking about of there the day after Thanksgiving. Food: The pancakes are light and delicious; I am not a fan of thick pancakes. The hashbrowns were thick and had the right amount of crispiness! My two scrambled eggs were fluffy and tasty. Service: Very attentiveness and nice. The waitress (owner?) refilled my water and coffee as needed without much of a wait. When we ordered, the food came out pretty quickly and hot. When I first heard of this place, I expected something... not to sound shallow, but, nicer looking. It's a little hole in the wall in a strip mall, so it's very easy to overlook. It has a modest 70's decor, a staff of 2 people, and max capacity of maybe 30. I came here on a saturday for breakfast, and ordered the mushroom and spinach omelet. The wait was a little long... just 2 people running this place and quite a few patrons that morning... but when I tasted that omelet.... Oh my Inevertastedanythingsogood.
