The second time I visited, it was a Tuesday night and they had Trivia. If you are looking for a peaceful dinner I would avoid Tuesdays at 7-8:30pm.

The people were a huge part of what made Emmett's feel welcoming, creative, and special, especially with the innovative cocktails. It's also disappointing to see what feels like a lack of appreciation for the staff and the longtime, dedicated customers who helped build this establishment into what it was. Unfortunately, the new direction feels much more canned and unoriginal--more like a Irish version of Applebee's or Outback Steakhouse than the unique place it used to be. There are simply too many great places to choose from to settle for something mundane and uninspired. The new GM has also made longtime customers feel unwelcome, with no acknowledgment or warmth when walking through the space. The atmosphere just isn't the warm, inviting place I once enjoyed. Sadly, I guess it's time to find a new favorite.

Oh man. Where to begin... I've been going to tappers since 2010, before I was even 21. It was the…read morespot for the neighborhood usuals and it was a great atmosphere. But as the new owners have taken over, things shifted. Generally it was fine but in the last couple months things have gone downhill. The last straw was when I went in for a single drink with a friend, early in the evening and when we got our tabs, we filled out our receipts and left our tips and went on with our evening. The next morning, I was called by my bank about a suspicious tip amount that I had recently left (aka the evening before). These cheapskate cheaters and thieves working at the bar had changed my tip amount egregiously. On one single pint, I think I paid $7/$8? And my tip amount was over $30 making my one beer almost $40. If that is what tappers has become, it is no longer that quaint and unique neighborhood dive bar that Chris and Steve had bought back in the early 2010s. The icing on the top was that one of the owners was actually our bar tender that evening. Slimey and shady and when we called to inquire, we were hung up on. Let this place go back to the dogs. At least the drunks and townies that used to call Tappers their neighborhood pub weren't stiffing the customers.

Sometimes I eat a pizza while sitting at Tappers and it's always amazing. Sometimes I drinks some drinks at Tappers and they make sitting at Tappers even better. Moved here a couple months ago and we are really loving Lucky 13 Mendota. Great food and drinks…read more Never a bad meal! The weekend breakfast, bloodies and bartenders are awesome as we've been working our way thru the breakfast menu every Saturday at the bar. They just changed the menu so there are some new exciting things to try like the breakfast Monte Cristo but sad to see one of my favorites the Reuben Benedict is now gone. Was sooo good. My other recommendations are the Cajun hash and the corned beef hash and the blackened walleye Benedict along with the Monte Cristo. Often we sit at the bar which is really nice but you can't go wrong sitting outside especially in the evening where it seems a little extra special, especially if you're out there with a few friends like we did a couple times already. Some of our friends that lived out west a bit came out here to visit us so we had to bring them to lucky 13 and they really enjoyed it. They said what a great place and what a wonderful outdoor patio area here they have. The food is great too. And always had great service. I think we've been here about 8 times since we've moved here and at times with other friends and family and there's a lot of other places we haven't tried yet but when you find something great you kinda don't want to risk going elsewhere. Keep up the great work Lucky's and the popcorn too

When I checked back in it turned out he was a bar back who couldn't pour drinks but he asked me for my order! I was also waiting on the waitlist for a table and the buzzer went off so we gave up our space at the bar, only to be told they buzzed the wrong person. The vibes were also off be square we inadvertently went there during Thur night bingo and it was super crowded and just not a fun scene. I hope to not come back here.
