After 5 years, my pool looks like it was never remodeled! Be careful with this company. BBB, made me aware that the owner lost his license because he failed to respond to several claims.

They only put rebar in the bottom of the bench. The sides were cracking down below the water line and leaking. Horrible workmanship

Please read the 1 star reviews. They are the exact same experience we had. Their work is exceedingly poor. The warranty and craftsmanship are a joke. We had a pool refiberglass done as well as pavers across our entire back yard. Pool looked nice when it was done. Within the first year the tiles started falling off the side. They only used silicone to attach them. The bigger issue was the Baja bench they added to our pool. It was cracking on the sides and lifting out of the ground. After chasing them for about 7 months they agreed to fix it, sent a guy out, he could not do the job (it was not a one man job) then said they weren't going to fix it. This was after multiple visits from the manager Gerardo and dozens of emails and pictures to them. Robert blames Gerardo, Gerardo blames Robert. Comically unprofessional. Fast forward we found a company to come out and look. They tackled the job and did an amazing repair. The Baja bench had NO reinforcement on the sides! Only a single cement block poorly concreted in. It was all disintegrating. Actually amazing that it lasted as long as it did. The company also installed new tile that was mounted with an epoxy type of bonding to the wall - not simple silicon that Complete Pool used. Do not hire this company to do work on your home. It is amazing that companies like this stay in business, but my fault for not heeding the poor reviews.

We had Robert completely refurbish and re-plaster our pool in 2017. There were several issues during the work, including the incorrect tiles being installed, tile trim on the steps and bench not being installed (which was caught by me and then and hastily/not cleanly installed AFTER the plaster was already down and setting), and finally the surrounding pavers sloped TOWARD the pool so that dirty rainwater would actually flow into the pool. We sorted these issues during the process to both parties satisfaction, though those mistakes made me not recommend Robert and Complete Pool and Spa afterwards. At the beginning of 2022, we noticed discolored bumps growing from the plaster in certain parts of the deep end. They kept growing and multiplying. Upon contacting Robert, he immediately said that they were due to imbalanced water chemistry. Upon researching these nodules, I learned from multiple sources that they are, in fact, delimitation of the plaster due to defects in installation. I hired an independent plaster consultant who inspected our pool and confirmed this. Upon showing pictures to even just the local Leslies owner, he gave a look of "oh NO" and also said that these are coming up from under the plaster due to improper plastering and have nothing to do with the water chemistry. The Leslies owner/technician went on to say that our high level of dissolved solids was DUE to these little volcanoes kicking out material from under the plaster. Upon presenting this to Robert for warranty, he immediately denied it because he continues to claim that it is due to water chemistry. I forwarded him the full inspection report weeks ago and followed up multiple times but have received nothing but silence. Do NOT go with Robert and this company. Not only will mistakes be made throughout the process, but he will make false claims in order to not honor the warranty on the work.

The pavers and tile turned out great, and it's the perfect size for our backyard.

We were initially nervous about the pool process and the demo of our backyard but our pool turned out great. We've received a lot of compliments and it has made our summer much more pleasant, as the valley gets extremely hot. Robert and his team were quick and reliable. We love our pool, and so do our kids. :)

Do not use this place. I hired CPR Pools, The California Pool And Spa Company, to relocate my pool equipment. I was told it would take 4 days. We are going on 4 WEEKS! ... it's because the workers never showed up. Never showed up on time, when they did come. Never came for days to complete anything. Robert, Trenton, or Gerardo never came to inspect the unfinished work or contact me to say why everything was taking so long. I had to call and complain several times. The plumber caused a leak, that our regular pool person pointed out. They left a pipe sticking out of the ground for weeks. We are STILL dealing with parts of the pool equipment electrical sticking out of the ground that they never moved with the pool equipment. They scattered concrete all over our backyard to fill the trenches they dug when relocating the pool equipment. Their employee used our shovel and broke it- left it hidden behind the pool equipment. Lastly, we still have a leak at the new pool location and they have yet to come by, fix, or contact me about the leak. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

We needed a complete redo of the bottom of our pool and the plastering had to be completely redone. They were very professional and very helpful throughout our experience. They were very quick and efficient to get the job done as was needed and they brought many workers to make sure the job was done well and on time. Would definitely recommend working with them in the future.

Complete Pool & Spa went above and beyond! Our pool needed a full remodel: changing the shape, changing the depth, adding a baja shelf, and swapping out concrete decking for pavers. I was a bit intimidated by all the changes but Robert, Jan, Gerardo and the rest of the team were there for me every step of the way. From permits and design to finishing materials, their guidance was extremely helpful and the end product is phenomenal! Look no further, Complete Pool & Spa Restoration is the company you want!

Robert showed up to my house to give me a quote. He looked everything over and stated he will finish "everything from here on out" which included installation and automation of the heater, pumps and lights, installing the waterline tiles, and doing the mini pebble plaster of the pool. After agreeing to the contract price he demanded to be paid in cash only, which i obliged. He wouldn't give me a receipt and instead texted me that he received the cash as a "poker debt". After several delays, he started the work and state he finished even though the heater and the water features would not work. I paid 90% of the contract (in cash based on his demand) but held back 10% because he would not finish the final parts until i paid him. He then added change orders and raised the contract price, even though he had from the beginning stated the contract price would cover everything from then on. The heating feature still didnt work but he threatened me over and over until i paid that final 10%. He promised that after i paid that he would send his crew to fix the heating. He never did. After getting his money he stated its not his problem and that i should call the warranty company because the issue is with the product not him even though it never worked a single day. His own manager, Gerardo, stated that the problem is not acceptable and that Robert needs to agree to fix it, but that he isnt allowed to do so without Roberts approval. Robert would not approve Gerardo to try and fix it so he left without it ever functioning. I called the warranty company and sent them pictures of the install. they stated that the product was not installed properly and thats why it wasnt working. Robert still refuses to come fix it. Further he has threatened me and told Gerardo and his wife Jan (who also works at the company) to not respond to me. I have weeks of emails, pictures and text to show this all. Anyone who is considering using them should not do so. They are unprofessional, don't do the work right and have overcharged me for a pool that does not work at all! Attached is an email from the manufacturer's repair company stating that Complete Pool did not properly install the heater and pumps and the texts from the owner refusing to fix the issues. UPDATE: After posting this review, the owner started texting me and cussing at me. He tried to imply i didnt pay him by stating he doesn't have employees, until i mentioned i have it all on video and receipts signed by his employees who took the money and texts from him telling me to pay his employees. His response is to continue to lie to cover the fact that he did not do the the install properly and did not want to come fix it, leaving me without a heater (which i paid for in full). UPDATE 2: Second authorized warranty repair company confirmed that Robert and Complete Pool improperly installed the heater and they cannot do warranty repair or even access the heater because they improperly installed it. See text below and you can independently confirm the number is that of Haro Pools who is the authorized warranty repair for Jandy. I have included the picture of the heater install as well to show its improperly installed by Complete Pool.

Though some reviews for this company are positive, our experience was not pleasant. According to our contract, Robert claimed he would commence work on December 15th, 2020 and complete in early January, 2021. We hired CPR to replumb and re-plaster a leaky pool and install pool and spa lights for a luxury villa in Hollywood Hills. The overall purpose was to stop old copper pipe leakage. Due to the necessary tearing up of deck tiles during replumbing, in addition to the presence of already damaged tiles, we also hired CPR to retile the pool deck. The entire job was set to complete in one month (two weeks for the pool and two weeks for the retiling). It took CPR an extra 2.5 months to complete the job which led to a significant loss in Airbnb revenue. I was out of town for the entire restoration. However, I had a representative photo log the process, and upon my return, I inspected the site. The pool plaster was seriously mottled either due to improper mixing of color plaster, poor troweling techniques, or the fact that the contractor who handled start-up surprisingly found the pool full of cement dust upon his arrival from CPR's deck tiling work. In short, CPR didn't complete the deck tiling and grout insertion before plastering the pool. The dust came from their deck work. That's a quick way to destroy pool plaster. So, what might have been a good-looking plaster job now looks horrific. CPR laid in mini tiles on the pool and spa steps. In the attached spa, the tile lines are visibly crooked. No care was taken to get it right. Additionally, I tried to warn CPR that we had found a seriously leaking old copper pool light conduit prior to re-tiling the deck (and probably even at the commencement of the project) and I assumed that CPR would ignore the deteriorated conduit and lay in PVC conduit to the nearby new J-box I had installed as part of their pool light installation. CPR said it wasn't their job, that they hadn't agreed to replace all copper pipes then went ahead and laid pool light cable in the old leaky copper pipe, later claiming that the pool was no longer leaking. We tested their opinion and found a 3" water level drop in a week. I had to hire a third party to fix the leak. It was substantial and accounted for a large portion of pool leakage. Furthermore, their above-ground replumbing proved to be unstable, and we had to find a way to shore it up at our cost. Finally, I asked for a level tile deck and got one that was not level, so much so that some deck furniture has to be propped up. Although Anna, from CPR, was responsive to me throughout the project, Robert only got back to us when it looked like we were incurring monetary damages that could be passed onto CPR. When I notified CPR of all the problems with their job, and their shoddy workmanship, Robert fired back blaming my representative (who incidentally is not a pool guy) for not advising him of mistakes, then blamed our pool guy for a faulty start-up when he's one of the best in the business, went on to blame the guy who fixed the leak for pool light for not fixing wiring that CPR had left exposed, and finally me for not managing my team better - whom I didn't hire to supervise CPR in the first place, a company claiming to be professionals. Perhaps my biggest error was not carefully reading CPR's contract carefully because I had to rush out the door for an international flight. It basically indicates that CPR bears no liability for the quality of their work. I trusted Robert to do a good job. That was a big mistake. CPR is, nonetheless, in breach of their contract which is something we are presently considering. Everything in this project has been documented. If my estimation of CPR is correct, they will either claim (below) that they never worked for us in the first place, or that they are faultless on all accounts. This would be in keeping with the manner in which they managed this project. I would warn potential clients to carefully check their contracts and provide expert supervision if wishing to engage this company.

RUN FROM THIS COMPANY or prepare to deal with lies, excuses and compete nonsense for months and months. It used to be call Complete Pool and Spa. Owned by Robert (who will show up for the quote and make promises he will never deliver) and his wife Jan (who will occasionally answer the phone until she recognizes your number and then never, and I mean NEVER pick up. If there is a schedule of work to be done....forget it. They will come up with every excuse imaginable after they have your deposit. If there is a problem, they will say that they will speak with Robert and have him call you back. He NEVER called back ONE TIME. He NEVER responded to emails sent directly to him. I had to block my caller ID so they wouldn't know it was me in a continuous series of phone calls to discuss their workers not showing up as scheduled, work that wasn't being performed in accordance with the agreement and the fact that they claimed they did the start up on they pool even though I had security cameras evidencing they never came. A nightmare of a company and the owners are con artists in my opinion. read more

I met with several pool companies to decide what to do about the huge cracks in my pool and get repair estimates. Complete Pool & Spa was the last company I met with and I was very excited to sign the contract with them the since they were clearly THE BEST CHOICE!! Robert Lancing- the owner- is THE MOST knowledgeable professional from all the other companies, had very good ideas and even knew the complex math calculation to see how many gallons of water are in the pool! Robert had wonderful suggestions for me, was patient and answered all my questions. He pointed out the pluses and minuses of each possibility I had and explained it all. I found him to be AMAZING and hired him to resurface my large-size pool with fiberglass (instead of plaster). His crew came and did EXACTLY what Robert said they would do even though they had to adjust to rainy days and other unanticipated circumstances, and they did so with total professionalism and understanding. They were patient with me throughout the process and very responsible. They came when they said they would and did what they promised to do!! My pool came out BEAUTIFUL!! Do yourself a favor if you don't want problems and hire Robert & Complete Pool & Spa: They are experienced, knowledgeable, patient, reasonably priced, and responsible! To be transparent, I have not yet hired Complete Pool & Spa, but when my pool contractor failed me several times, I was recommended to call Robert on Next Door. First I spoke to Jan on the phone and she was very helpful. Robert came out a few days later to look at the pool and he gave me a lot of honest, helpful feedback even though it is unclear if I will even need his services. Robert went the extra mile to call a rep from the manufacturing company for one of the issues I was having with my pool's control panel. What I can say for now is that if I wind up needed any repairs done, Robert will be my guy. read more

We had a wonderful experience with Complete Pool and Spa. We had our pool resurfaced with mini-pebble and new tile on the steps. They also installed new equipment for us as well. They were timely on scheduled visits and very efficient. The pricing was a good value for what was done to our pool. CPR pools did an amazing job with my pool and backyard renovation. My pool looks like a high end hotel. I can't recommend them highly enough! From our first meeting to the completion of the job everything was done timely and professionally. The craftsmanship was top-notch, the job was on budget and on time! Those are two things that almost never happen. Anytime I had an issue it was addressed immediately I have already recommended them to several friends and neighbors. We hired Complete Pool & Spa to repair and refinish our pool which was originally built in the 70s. The original smooth plaster finish was long gone and the pool had a long crack that needed some serious attention. We opted to have the pool redone in composite (fiberglass) because the warranty is much better than all the concrete repair / re-plaster options we could find. We are intrigued that this finish will help the pool retain heat better and make it useable for a longer portion of the year as well. The work took 7 days to complete as was advertised, and we are particularly happy with the attention to detail the crew showed in getting the mosaic tiles we selected to look just right all along our waterline. We are very happy with Robert & Jan's phone and email support throughout the project and with Darwin and everyone else on the crew's manual labor. A+! read more

Our experience with CPR Pools was fantastic and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone in need of a new pool or pool remodel. Initial Consultation: Robert arrived at our house promptly, listened to all of our concerns about our pool and the remodel job and took the time to answer our questions patiently and thoroughly. He came armed with an iPad and showed us plenty of pictures of completed projects that involved similar materials. Because our pool needed replastering, new lights, and a bench extension, Robert made several recommendations to us that were insightful and accurate. Design Consultation: Because we were also replacing coping and tile, Jan spent an extensive amount of time with us over the phone, guiding us through websites and catalogues to narrow our choices. She ordered samples for us and had them delivered to our house (during the height of COVID lockdown). Despite finally selecting tile that was not from one of their usual suppliers, Jan was supportive of our choices and reassured us that it would look great. Demo, Construction and Replastering: Gerardo was a highly communicative project manager and the consistent point of contact through this phase of our project. He was equally available via phone or text when he was not on-site. Most notably, the CPR crew showed up in force on the day promised, and worked quickly, diligently, and carefully. Because the rest of our backyard was being worked on, they sometimes had to work around other crews and/or use caution around already finished areas. None of our finished projects were impacted at all, and the work in the pool came off without issue. Conclusion: We are exceptionally happy with our pool and our experience with everyone at CPR. My only mistake in the project (and it was my mistake!) was to not hire CPR to do our paver work as well. We hired someone else who was initially cheaper, and it has cost us more, took longer, and is probably of lesser quality than what CPR would have done. In addition to the above, Robert, Jan, Gerardo and everyone at CPR are good people and a pleasure to work with. HIRE THEM! read more

Who shall I review for my 200th review? None other than Complete Pool and Spa Restoration. I am floored by how amazing and talented Robert and his crew are. No one looks forward to resurfacing a pool. As I looked at my pool (aka the pit of despair) I realized that the time has come. I must admit I was nervous and not looking forward to fixing my pool. That all went away the second I met Robert. I'm a social worker by trade. My instinct of people is usually spot on and boy was it ever with Robert. He's a straight shooter that offers an honest opinion. He does both plaster and fiberglass so I knew he would give me the pros and cons of each. I went with fiberglass. Alejandro and his crew started working promptly on it. They were the best! They were efficient and very hard working. Although we had rain and I made some last minute changes, Robert did everything to make me happy. He is definitely a man of his word. I was happy with the service and the price was on point. I had my pool done about a month ago. They are the most unprofessional company that I have ever known. They left me with so many problems. My water bill is going to be outrageous because I had to hire someone else to do the repairs that they knew about. I now have had to hire an attorney to help me with this matter about this company complete pool and spa. This company is so UNRELIABLE I had to empty the pool again Repair the light and skimmer Because I was losing water every day and adding water three times for for one and ahalf hours each time. All I wanted was a nice pool and spa and all I got was a nightmare. I would not recommend the company of complete pool and spa to anyone. read more

We first had our pool installed about 10 years ago, the contractors that did the job were very dishonest and cut a lot of corners. Flash forward to present day and we have a pool that featured a large crack running around the interior of the walls and a host of other construction defaults. After meeting with MANY pool contractors (we wanted to make sure we did it right this time) my husband and I settled on hiring Robert and his crew at Complete Pool & Spa Restoration. We are so glad we did. Robert came out to look at our pool and gave us several options for fixing the damages. He was honest about what level of repair, durability and cost each option would entail. Because of all the detailed info Robert gave us, we were able to make a decision we felt confident about. Robert and Jimmy were very "hands on", supervising the project every step of the way. If I needed something or had a question I could call or text them and get an immediate response. They visited the site often and communicated with me daily. They did what they said they would do and did it on time. The pool now looks beautiful and we are thrilled with the results. *UPDATE* You're response is hysterical and sad at the same time. It's funny how you just updated your original response after I changed my 5-star to 1-star review. Originally you said "thank you and hope to have the chance to work with you in the future." You left the thank you portion of the previous response, but quickly changed your tune. If I was such a bad customer, why did you originally respond that way? Second, Wouldn't it be easier to just say "you don't want to do the project", rather than making the trip to my house twice, send your project manager here once, and then string me along for two months. I shouldn't be surprised at your response since it's a similar response as other negative comments you've received. Try taking responsibility, and perhaps use the feedback to improve the way you do business. You asked me on a number of occasions to put a review on Yelp knowing that I was happy and was going to give you 5 stars. Then you give me a bull shit response such as this. Again, as I've mentioned in my previous posts, I am happy with the job that was completed, but very frustrated with the lack of professionalism. Very sad that this is how we ended things! Robert, you did have the chance to work with me. As a matter of fact, it was just the continuation of the backyard remodel. You came to my house twice and we discussed the outdoor kitchen project. I called the office over 15 times and it was either no response, or some bull shit excuse on why the project would start the following week. Sent a number of emails and not one of them were responded. Finally called your cell phone and texted you, and again no response. I truly regret giving the five stars previously. Two months and double the cost later (due to the recent price increase in material), I'm finally getting my outdoor kitchen built. You build a nice pool, but a horrible way to run your business...very sad! You're project manager and office manager had started with you just prior to the commencement of my project. Less than 6 months and neither one of them are with you anymore. I wonder why!?! I wish all of your current and future clients the best of luck! read more

We've had a 50' pool for 30 years that was leaking, along with a concrete deck with cracks and uneven sections. We chose CPR and Robert Lansing after getting three estimates and an additional estimate for just the deck. CPR's prices were competitive, and especially so when the deck-only quote came out near to CPR's entire quote. It seems that the fact that CPR does the paving without subcontractors resulted in the savings. We decided to redo the entire back yard: complete paving replacement and pool relining with fiberglass. We chose a medium gray bottom, since we had had a black bottom before. As you can see from the pictures that I added to the gallery, we could have gone darker. The amount of work that went into this was enormous, considering that the path to our back yard was only wide enough for a wheelbarrow. The majority of the work went on schedule in spite of some rain delay. The last few details at the end did drag on, however. Aside for one detail that we forgot (automatic filler), the price was the price. Everything reasonable that we asked for was accommodated, and the extra work needed on our pool because of its condition was included. No surprises were encountered. We're very happy with the result and working with Robert Lansing. One suggestion that I'd make for others working with Robert is to follow up conversations with emails, just to keep the details straight. My full recommendations to anyone. read more

Robert, Jan, Anna and team did a great job! Very competitive quote and worked with our budget. High quality work. We had them do new plaster, tile, coping, electrical, sealer and pump. All top notch work! When we drained our pool we discovered that we didn't have a shallow end. Robert worked with us to add a shallow end and went out of his way to fit our budget. We will be going back to Complete Pool & Spa Restoration when we are in a place to redo our deck and when we add a jacuzzi. Highly recommend! read more

In short, if you want to save time and money, you should hire Complete Pool & Spa! We reviewed/quoted 10 pool companies and Robert was the best across the board. His knowledge, price, work, and easy to deal with attitude makes pool renovation less stressful. About myself, I'm VERY detailed oriented and have been remodeling homes for 20 yrs. I shared with Robert my overhead drawing of my pool and drew the layout in the sand. He walked me through the process and gave me his expert advice. We talked about different pavers, tile, mini pebbles, color lights, system, coping, etc. With Robert instructions, we visited the paver, tile and mini pebble stores to better understand our options. Important step to know the product you're buying. From there, we spoke to Jan about the contract and agreed on the price. They shared a step by step process for us to anticipate the pool renovation. Jan has great intuition and sense of design. She patiently advised/explained the type of pavers and pattern that fits our home. I love it when people aren't just agreeable to get the job. We went with what Jan suggested and couldn't be happier! Robert, Jan, and the team are great! In the end, Robert absorbed the cost of certain upgrades/labor because he wants us to be happy. Jan was always cool and comforting when we were stressed out. If I could redo one thing, we should've gotten a permit from the start for the pool renovation based on Robert's advise. We just completed construction on a new pool which we have wanted to do for a long time and received our final sign-off. Whenever one embarks on such a project, one expects to experience the horrors that one hears so much about how the contractor was slow, didn't do the job well, and all the 'typical' excuses, etc. Well, I have never in all my experience working with contractors had such an AMAZING experience as I had with Complete Pool and Spa. From the day we got rolling, everything just fell into place. Their crews are so professional and personable - in two weeks the pool was dug, steel placed (which took less than a day), plumbing and concreted. Each crew is so knowledgeable and most of the employees have been part of the company for many years. Even their relationship with the City of LA enabled them to handle a couple of small issues seamlessly!! The finished pool has exceeded my expectations - they did a beautiful job and I cannot recommend this company and the owner Robert and Jan more highly. If you are wanting to build a pool, there is no need to look any further than Complete Pool and Spa. Five stars plus some!!!! read more

After reading all the great yelp reviews for this company we decided to call them to get a quote for repairing our pool and equipment. On first appearance everything seemed great. Robert seemed nice and came up with a great plan for taking care of our needs that would cost us less than we had anticipated. He promised to send us a quote by the next day. Nearly 5 weeks later and no quote has been sent. After multiple phone calls we've been promised again and again to get a quote and yet nothing has been sent. If it's this hard to even get a quote, I can't imagine how much more difficult it would be to get a response if there's a problem after they've done their work. read more

We reached out to Complete Pool based on the reviews as it's been hard to find pool repair companies during the pandemic. At first they were responsive and Dee set up an appointment for Robert to come see our pool. Robert came and said he wanted to send one of his guys to dig a 10ft trench to see we just had a tree root issue or if the bonding was bad. I called a week later to see when someone was coming. They had to call Robert and call me back. Gerardo called me back and said he would send someone the next afternoon. No one came. I called Gerardo and he apologized and set up another appointment for the next morning. 4 hrs went by and no one came. My husband was furious because he changed his schedule. I called Gerardo. He didn't know what happened to his guy. I said it wasn't a good sign of the company. He called me back and said he would be there in 5 mins. A young kid showed up with a shovel and after an hour or so, he said he had to send someone else to finish the work. No one came. No call from anyone from Complete Pool and now I have a shallow trench with two dirt piles. We called several times. We never lost our composure/always treated them respectfully...no results. We would not recommend based on this. read more

One of their reps- Robert- came to my house to give me a quote on a pool repair. He made measurements and took photos but then never got back to me with a quote even when I emailed him directly as a reminder. I think that's pretty bad for customer relations. ...and now Robert responds with an insinuation that there's some reason he didn't want to work with me. That's pretty bad putting the blame for your bad business practices on your Yelp reviewers. The real reason you didn't get back to me was because my job was probably too small and wasn't profitable enough but you could have at least let me know. read more

I can not recommend Robert Lansing and his team strongly enough. First of all, in a sea of suppliers and construction people who consistently do shoddy work and let you down, Robert himself is a breathe of fresh air. His no pressure and generous attitude, make going over designs and options easy as pie. He has Jan on the end of his phone at the office to keep up with it all. We had an excellent experience with Robert and Jan at CPR Pool. They resurfaced our our old, dilapidated inground pool, replaced all the plumbing, added a pool heater, and added new tile. Our pool used to look miserable and gave swimmers a faint white chalky film. Now our pool looks absolutely fabulous!!! Their crews were professional, courteous, helpful and friendly. And their rates were very reasonable. We interviewed 4 or 5 pool companies and chose CPR based on their knowledgeable attitude, ability to work within our schedule and budget, and their good prices. We are so glad we chose Complete Pool & Spa Restoration to renovate our pool. The ugly plaster was replaced by mini pebble finish, which I think look way better than replastering, and the dated border tiles were changed as well. The whole renovation was done in 1 week. The owner and the staff kept us posted on every step of the makeover. Their customer service is excellent. Now our pool is ready for family, friends and furry friends. I am recommend Robert as I have been completely happy with them. Robert and his wife are nice because they come out to deal with repairs to their work very promptly.. . I had other pool guys not come back after doing my hot tub wrong in my apartment building. But that was my buulding. My home is like my temple. I have an original many year old pool in Beverly Hills that was in dire need of redoing. After my bad experience with the hot tub, I called Robert. The plaster was scratched and all bubbly and things just did not look right. Robert has an eye for this stuff and he said cement coping was old and bad. Robert went on to fix it! Good thing it left my caused my sons foot bleeding when he stepped on it. Amazingly, I had spoken to 5 other pool plaster companies before I met Robert and 2 provided estimates which were about 20 percent lower than Robert's. But Robert warned me that his proposal, while his being about $6000 more than the others, was an indication that he would do better work and will be there for me if something goes wrong with his work. So I bit the bullet and spent the extra dough. And he did come out like he said. If his plaster peeled up, within a month he had repatched that area. I thought I was gonna have to wait for his warranty on other things like when the light shorted out once. I waited a year! So it's important. When one of Robert's PVC pipes got undone, he came out and reglued it to just make sure he said. But Robert understood the blood sweat and tears that came not just from my son's foot but from the heartache of the other horrible pool plaster people. The wife was also extremely knowledgable and professional, went through every step of the process and came back with a fair price breaking it down with choices: each with its separate price. Confusing at first, the contract allowed me to do what is known as change orders. So I ended up doing nifty things like buying a "smart" pool pump for $3400 that he fully installed! And just like his warranty with plaster problems he came out to fix Negotiating the contract was almost childlike in how they make it simple. They use check off options which is genius. We went over the 6 separate column choices for tiles (might be more or less). Even though it turned out to be $2000 more than I agreed, I was happy because the tiles has some cool shiny stars. Robert is quite open and he will discuss things from pool plaster to he and his wife's struggles with bad clients that don't pay him and of course I was not one of those bad people. Any questions I had along the way were promptly and thoroughly answered. His workmen are true professionals, true crafty types and they are available to hire after hours..we redid the coping, tile and replaced the plaster with this amazing pebble finish. Unbelievably, they showed up exactly when they said they would work during Christmas Day! They completed each step of their work in just a few weeks . This was a big pool with steps . Im sure once you meet Robert, you will know he is much nicer than what you read here. . The pool looks amazing...just like the photos Robert had shown me of the other pools he had done with tiles with rubies and diamonds for famous people. read more

We moved into our house in 1998 with a strange pool. Our daughter was just 1 year old then and she grew up swimming in this tiny thing. But over the years, it started to crumble. I must have had about 6 or 7 pool guys come over to check it out. None of them understood what they were looking at. Until one day the 6 or 7th guy that came over said, "This is a fiberglass pool. There's only one guy in town who will do this right - Robert Lansing from Complete Pool and Spa." So I contacted Robert. He gave me a very fair price and wonderful suggestions on how to upgrade the pool plumbing, look, design and usability. I ordered all new pool equipment, he put in all new plumbing and rebuilt our steps using concrete. Our pool was a fiberglass shell. A very strange type of pool where they come in with a crane and place it in a dugout hole. Robert's crew used this shell as a form and simply applied new fiberglass and compound to the form. They actually cut out the bottom of the form and put concrete there as it was loose and bubbling. This made the pool much more integrated and sturdy. He also put in a salt system which I'm really looking forward to not feeling the effects of chlorine after a swim! He also added last minute - at no extra charge - an autofill system. This is an amazing thing. I never have to add water and when it rained this year and the pool filled up, by the next day the level of the pool was back to normal. This is an incredible add-on and Robert did this on his own. This is the reason for 5 stars even though I wanted to give 4 stars (see below). The piece de resistance of this pool now is the pool light he put in. it makes our backyard magical at night. The ONLY negative of this company is the absolutely lousy communication. They just don't get back to you in a timely fashion and you never know when the workers are showing up! HOWEVER - the work is first rate and we couldn't be happier with the result. The last touch - Robert showed up with a bottle of wine and said, "we hope you enjoy your new pool". In fact, the pool is as good as new. Thank you guys!! read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, that's my recommendation. Robert and Jan, the owners, will tell you whatever they have to tell you to sell the job, but after that, you'll find that all their representations mean nothing, they are completely non responsive (unless they are asking for money in advance of the work being done) and the work performed is without any attention to detail. We had to have much of their work corrected by another company after their "completion." Once Robert sells you the job, you'll never see him again and once his wife Jan takes your phone call, she'll rarely answer your call again and you'll be left with no option but to leave multiple messages, none of which will be responded to. It was truly the worst experience we've ever had with a company and we've remodeled many pools over the years at our houses in California, Nevada and Florida. They will exhaust you with their excuses and avoidance of your calls. Read the responses from the owner to the many negative Google and Yelp reviews and you'll get a clear picture of the type of person the owner is. He's much more interested in rebutting and pointing a finger at his unsatisfied customers than he is attempting to spend a moment resolving their problems. According to him, every unsatisfied customer who writes a negative review is wrong. For the first time in our life, the entire experience left me and my husband feeling as though we had been conned from the start. You've been warned read more

Can't thank Robert and Jan enough. Recently the health department closed the pool at one of my apartment buildings and noted that it wasn't VGB compliant. I called several pool contractors to get estimates on making the pool compliant. All the estimates involved draining the pool, breaking plaster and installing new drains. A LOT OF $$$$$.. Thank goodness for CPR pools. Robert came out and explained that there is a device that's used with a specific drain cover that will remedy the problem for a small fraction of the cost. I then met Jan over the phone. She prepared all the drawings and plans based on information provided by Robert and submitted everything that was required to the city. Once we received approval she scheduled for a diver to install the new drain and verified that the drain and new VBG compliant safety device were installed correctly. She then scheduled my inspection and VOILA.. I passed the inspection and my pool is now in compliance for a fraction of the cost. THANK you again Jan and Robert!!! I had finally decided to remove my asphalt driveway and replace with pavers. My driveway is NOT a typical driveway and is pretty steep and oddly angled, so I was worried if I didn't select a knowledgeable and skilled company, I wouldn't be able to drive up or back down after the project was completed. I contacted CPR ( Complete Pool and Spa Restoration) and spoke with Jan. She was incredibly helpful on the phone and set up a meeting with her husband, Robert. After meeting Robert and discussing the project, I immediately trusted him and felt a complete wave of relief. They started work on schedule and their crews were professional and skilled from demo to completion. The quality of materials were top notch. Jan and Robert were available throughout the entire process if I had any questions or needed anything. I was so pleased with everything that I decided to paver the stairs leading up to my front door to complete the look. They are a family business and truly treat you like a member of their family. At the end of the day, I'm incredibly happy with how the driveway turned out and definitely recommend them for any project. read more

When we decided on a major redo of our pool (first time in 40 years) I checked Yelp for some recommendations. Complete Pool had an abundance of positive reviews. So I called. I talked with Robert who came out, made some suggestions, went back and sent me an estimate. It wasn't the highest or the lowest, but it seemed the most honest/reasonable for what we needed done. With any large project, many moving parts, and multiple workers, there will always be little things that might go wrong. These are to be expected. We had a few minor bumps along the way. But more importantly, we also had people with a high degree of integrity and determination to ensure that the customer was getting the best job possible. Robert and his team were like this. Even when an issue occurred that was not their doing, he was determined to do whatever was necessary to make sure we were satisfied. You don't find that kind of caring and kindness enough today. If you're looking to have work done on your pool or spa, I heartily recommend CPR. Thanks to Robert and the rest of the crew. read more

CPR is great! We had them do a complete remodel of our pool. They resurfaced the pool, installed new coping, all new plumbing, added a spa and gas heater, and built a new concrete pool deck with proper drainage. The project took a few months. Robert was fun to work with. He's incredibly knowledgeable. He'll give you his opinion, but is always quick to say he'll do whatever you want. He knows it all and we felt like we could trust his advice. His crew was amazing! They were always so polite and respectful. They took lots of care to ensure areas that weren't being touched by the project were kept safe. They also were great about cleaning up. When they were done with the project, all we had to do was jump in the pool. The only issue we had was we never had a firm timeline. All that mattered to us was that they were on budget and it was finished before summer. His crew works hard, so when they were there they accomplished a lot. Robert is a great guy to work with. We bought this house with a fiber glass pool. There is no water on it and has a lot of cracks on the bottom. The plumbing was really old. The coping was ugly. We really wanted a nice and updated pool! Robert makes sure that everyhting we want is being followed. His goal is for us to be satisfied and happy. He is easy to talk with. We got a new plumbing and electrical, a bigger skimmer, a nice coping, a beatiful tiles and new stairs/steps and light in just 2 weeks! :) One thing I really appreciate with this company is the payment terms. Robert will give you the best plan you can afford. Also, it has a 15 years warranty! He will even give you some instructions on how to take care of and maintain your pool. After receiving three previous pool bids, I called Robert at Complete Pool and Spa, because we had heard good things about his company from our neighbor. Robert came over the next day and provided me with a detailed proposal and a very competitive price for the job, that entailed new pool plumbing, equipment, coping, tile, and new plaster. Complete Pool and Spa performed the work on time and on budget, in a hassle-free manner, and included the new pool startup service for five days, for the new plaster. Good and timely communication with both Robert and his nice office manager Jan. New pool looks wonderful, I can't wait for summer, so kids can begin to enjoy it. We just had our pool resurfaced by Complete Pools, and we are thrilled. The service, the attention, the immediate call-back, and the detailed instructions were fabulous. Both Robert and his wife Jan are fabulous people to deal with. Trustworthy and very responsive. I received immediate responses and immediate answers to all my questions. They didn't leave us hanging wondering when things will be done. We were amazed at how quickly and how beautifully the pool resurfacing was completed, even though the work had to be interrupted by several days of torrential rain. Yes As good as it gets! i have looked into and gotten many reviews for pool repair because we have many rentals and are always having issues. We called Robert and he came right away and assessed the problem. His estimate was so amazing that we could not even believe it. The work was done so fast and in such a professional and personable manner. I have never seen anyone care so much with anyones needs before. He really cared that we were in a hard position with having an empty house and paying for a new re plaster. We could call him anytime with any question. I will use robert and recommend him to all my friends because it is very very hard to find caring and honest people in any line of business these days. Robert and his crew did a terrific job resurfacing our pool, and with both clean-up and follow-up. Our pool was an eyesore -- the least attractive aspect of our backyard -- and now it's pristine. We had a plaster pool that was long overdue for a makeover. The plaster was discolored by algae and copper pipes, and was breaking off in chunks. We got several bids, among them one from Robert. After learning about the benefits of a composite resurfacing, among them the durability and color consistency of the product, I decided to pay a bit more and go that route. I was in charge (along with two others) to select and oversee the resurfacing of our condo association's small pool. Robert spent some time with us explaining everything and recommending fiberglass. His company does both fiberglass and plaster. We received several quotes and his was 10% less than the next lowest quote and his Company was pleasure to work with. He went over every detail as to what needed to be replaced and what didn't. He handled the permits and the job was completed on time as promised. Everyone in our association is pleased by the results of our lovely new pool and impressed by the low cost. We bought a house with a pool 30 years ago, but for 27 years we have not used it. It was a hole in the ground with cold water that only cost us monthly fees to maintain. Had a very bad long out of use pool ( 10 years down ) plaster shattered 1960s equipment my insurance co. would no longer insure a empty pool for any price ( gotta love bureaucrats ) . We were very happy with the service Complete Pool and Spa provided. Robert stopped by, honestly assessed the condition of our pool, and gave us our options. We run a 178 room Best Western in Sherman Oaks that is extremely busy year round so when we needed to re-plaster our pool, we called Robert at Complete Pool and Spa again after doing our spa last year. He got the job done beautifully and in the time frame he said it would be done, which is very important to us being that the pool closure is an inconvenience to paying guests. Please read the 175 reviews that they have put on not recommended reviews. Yelp plays god and keeps all our negative reviews on top and puts our five star review on the back page. When you ask them they say we have no control it's a coincidence that all our bad yelps find the top and all our good ones are put on the bottom or on the not recommended. We in the past paid yelp and our good reviews were at the top, when we decided to stop paying they put all our negative reviews on the top. Yelp is not a good or fair barometer to judge any company. Now, two years later, we've had to acid wash the pool due to how rough and dirty it became. The tile work is also poorly done -- see the attached photos. I originally emailed them right away to share our concerns, and this is the kind of response I got. I've followed up again, but if the communication is anything like last time, I expect more of the same -- being yelled at and dismissed. Bottom line: I strongly recommend staying away from this company. UPDATE: I feel the need to clarify my experience, especially in light of the false claims made by the company's owner. To state that I "refused a startup" is completely inaccurate and misleading. At no point did I refuse anything essential to the process. Instead of working to resolve the issues professionally, the company repeatedly resorted to finger-pointing, raising their voice, and making accusations rather than reaching out to find a workable solution. I had to personally invest time and money into an acid wash to address problems like surface roughness and discoloration--issues that should have been handled properly by the company in the first place. Additionally, I take serious offense to being called a liar. The tile work was done through this company, despite their attempt to distance themselves from it after the fact. For them to publicly discredit me and misrepresent the facts is not only unprofessional but also incredibly disrespectful. Customer service is not just about completing a job--it's about standing behind your work and treating clients with respect. Unfortunately, that has not been my experience. Based on how I was treated and the lack of accountability shown, I cannot recommend this company. UPDATE again: Joseph emailed me and threatened to SUE me for defamation. How if I have photos of the work they did is this defamation? I am scared for my life now and have to possibly get a lawyer involved when all I am doing is speaking my experience with this company. During the estimating phase, I learned about 5 different pool plaster options: white, colored, quartz and pebble plaster. I also learned about the importance of pool circulation, chemistry and cleaning. Art Jr. demonstrated his extensive knowledge in the pool plastering industry. He explained our options, but did not try to sell us something we do not need or want. We chose Art Jr. because he listened and is responsive. Art Jr.'s crew removed the old plaster to gunite. They removed the old tile, main drain cover, rope rings, incandescent light, deep end wall steps, entry handrail and pool heater. They installed new tile at the water line and trim tile on the steps. They installed new pool drain cover, rope rings, LED light, deep end wall steps, entry handrail and pool heater. Knowing that their best customers are the ones they educate, Art Jr. answered all questions that came up as the job progress. Johnny's Start-Up was the icing on the cake. He skimmed and brush vacuumed the pool everyday for 3 days. On the 4th day, he cleaned the pool filter and added new chemicals. He skimmed, brush vacuumed and tested the chemicals for 2 more days. The plaster job was done in 1 week. The start-up procedure and chemical balancing was done the following week. It was fast and continuous as promised. All workers worked hard and cleaned up everyday. The job was completed on schedule. I highly recommend Art Jr. and his company.

If I'm being honest I've actually been more impressed with Avanti and Bernard more when it comes to the latter which is what I'm basing this review on. If I were reviewing on the process of building/permitting it would be a different score for sure. So again this is based on the final product and support afterwords. IMO Bernard is an old school pool builder, he knows what needs to be done, how to do it, and doesn't overcomplicate things. He stays calm and works on solutions instead of trying to find a way to blame others. There are some drawback to that in that he does a lot verbally and just gets it done, but sometimes that leads to miscommunications. This happened a few times during the building process, each time I was like oh no here we go it's going to be a fight. But each time he impressed me and just solved it quickly and efficiently. I've waited a couple of years since my pool was built to review because I knew we'd inevitably run into problems. Everyone talks about their great warranty until you have a problem. Then they usually start with the cost of the call or why this is your fault or why that particular component isn't covered, diagnosis fees etc. That has absolutely not been the case with Bernard. I've had weird electronic issues that he's walked me through resetting, I've had a light go out a year and a half after completion, ordered within 10 minutes of me texting him and installed within a week. Just recently I'm having water flow sensor issues which I was almost sure wouldn't be covered, instead of what I was sure was going to be bad news he again texted me back within 10 minutes, asked a couple basic questions, and said yes it's covered I know what it is and ordered the part. To me this is a 10/10 builder. The finished product is beautiful and has really impressed me over the past couple of years. He really made my vision come to life and convinced me we could do it even though I was doubtful with the tiny space we have. He completely transformed my backyard from a place we spent almost no time to an oasis we absolutely love. I received about 7 quotes before we decided to go with Bernard. His pricing was super competitive and I believe a lot of that was due to the fact I was speaking to an owner instead of a middleman salesman. Over two years later and I'm 100% sure I made the correct decision.
