    Repaired roof with drain.

Jose arrived promptly and examined the roof damage and came up with a cost effective solution. A few days later his crew arrived and removed the damaged area of the roof and then resealed it. They also added a drain to help remove pooling water at that location. The crew had to work carefully next to our solar panels. The actual work was done in half a day and looks quite professional. Waiting for the next big rain to check for leaks.

I am the President of a small HOA (4 plex) in North Park. We have known for several years that we were going to have to replace the cedar shake shingles on our mansard roof with something synthetic (can no longer replace with wood shingles due to fire danger). I finally got going in earnest in May. Used Yelp to look for companies and put in requests for several companies. Only got two companies to come out. Jorge from J and Co was the first to respond and the first to come out. I was curious about them because they said 20 years in business, but only one review? Seemed odd. Well, mystery solved when Jorge and his dad came out for the estimate. Jorge is a young man, but he had worked with his dad for many years doing construction and roofing to pay his way to a mechanical engineering degree from SD State. He was the first and only respondent to actually go up on my flat roof to check out everything. He found we needed some minor maintenance work on our flat roof, but other than that, it was in good shape (didn't try to sell us something we didn't need right now). Sent out the estimate which included everything....replacement of shingles and the minor maintenance work. Excellent price. We had our HOA meeting last week which Jorge attended to answer any questions. Other owners equally impressed with him. Signed the deal the next day. This is just a review of our experience with the bidding process. Within the next few months, it will be done and I will send in a final review. Seriously....if you need any painting, construction or roof work, call them. I think you'll be glad you did.

    New flat roof installed

I own a property management company and have worked with a lot of roofers. During the last rainstorm, Jorge came out to help with the leak. He is one of the most professional people I've worked with, and you can tell he really cares about taking care of the customer and giving you a great product. His knowledge of roof repair, and speed is reasons alone to work with him. He also beat and provided a better service than other roofers that bid out the job. Fantastic job, Jorge! Keep up the good work!

A great experience with J&Co. Had my roof prepared for Tesla solar install and Jorge took care of my project from start to end. J&Co was flexible with my Tesla schedule. The roofing was done on time and as planned. Would highly recommend J&Co.

J&Co was recommended by a close family friend due to their popularity among my circle, I needed my roof to be replaced asap and to be honest I was looking for a local company I could really rely and fully trust since replacing a roof can be very expensive and after doing some research I gave them a call and sure enough they were on my roof the next day. I really like how they offer a free estimate and their price was fairly reasonable compared to other companies, and by the way they are bilingual and their customer service is outstanding. When you contact them ask for Jorge he is AWESOME he took his time to explain the entire process and gave me options and recommendations. I already have them scheduled for another upcoming painting project because they also offer that and they are the best at what they do, so if you are looking for a great reliable honest roofing/painting team it's these guys!!! Thank you Jorge, and the rest of the crew.

This time around, HOA told us to paint our house. Well, yeah! Da humble abode severely needed a fresh coat of paint. Chica went on a search and found McCarthy Painting. I followed up and checked reviews. They're legit licensed, bonded and do good work. Fast forward to the first day Armando and Andres started the job. They consulted with me and confirmed the features of the dwelling and the specific colors set for them from Sherwin Williams pallet for this model. Shout out to the lone faux shutter feature in da back of da house. *rolling eyes*. These guys communicated clearly the job and the specifics to be done. They explained to me the way they will paint the eaves and gutters (a little different from the original paint patterns). I'm good with that. That actually matches what all the neighbors did with their new paint jobs. Armando and Andres got right to work starting with the power washing for day one. The humble abode might have sighed a great sigh of relief when they did this. Gone are the tree sap, chimney soot, dust and pollen stains. Next day, cover up and protect. Then next 2 days paint all large surface areas and most of the trim. Day 4 finish all trim and doors. Last day, touch ups. These guys work hard and thoroughly. We are so happy and relieved to have the house painted right with the correct premium paint - Sherwin Williams. Looking over the humble abode now... She looks polished and beautiful. Take that HOA! Do you not approve? Thanks to McCarthy Painting Armando and Andres for making her look good again.

***UPDATE AFTER OWNER RESPONSE*** This is normally not…read moresomething I would do; however, after the owner decided to attack me personally and tell a boldfaced lie, this response had to be forthcoming. First, he states that he politely tried to decline my business and claims I insinuated that I would leave a bad review if I didn't get my paint upgraded for free--which again is simply a lie! I have the emails and texts from the initial estimate visit with the original quote of $1,700 that followed shortly thereafter and then the corrected one of $1,600 as well, and all the requests for me to approve the job. I never tried to weaponize anything, and the owner knows it; I just asked that you honor what your representative stated about the premium paint. Stating "people like me" was all I needed to hear and was what I suspected this ultimately was about. Which one are you: a racist, a homophobe, or both? But for sure, you are a young, petulant, and weak little boy who lacks professionalism and business ethics. DON'T ATTACK PEOPLE LIKE THIS WHEN YOU KNOW YOU'RE IN THE WRONG ... DO BETTER NEXT TIME AND BE HONEST AS WELL!! ***PLEASE READ *** DECIDED TO SHARE AFTER OWNER DECIDED TO USE PROFANITY TOWARD ME WHEN IT WAS COMPLETELY UNWARRANTED*** Extremely disappointing and unprofessional experience with PB Painting and the owner, Cameron. During the initial estimate, a representative quoted $1,700, but we explicitly agreed beforehand on a price of $1,600 with premium paint included. When the official quote arrived, the price was incorrectly listed at $1,700; after I pointed this out, they corrected it to the agreed $1,600. However, while dealing with a relentless automated texts and emails asking to approve the quote, I took a closer look at the fine print. I discovered they had specified Sherwin-Williams SuperPaint--which I verified directly with Sherwin-Williams is not their premium tier. It became clear they didn't expect me to check the actual product specs. When I called the owner, Cameron, to address this discrepancy, he casually claimed the job would actually cost more if I wanted the actual premium paint we had already settled on. When I calmly pointed out how unfair and seemingly misleading that was, Cameron abruptly cancelled the job, claiming he didn't want the "stress." When expressed the unexpected blatant unprofessionalism, Cameron escalated to profanity and told me, "F you." When I informed him that I would be sharing my honest experience in a public review, he threatened to sue me. I never raised my voice or swore; I simply expected them to honor their word and basic business ethics. Furthermore; Imagine advertising your business at @homedepot and then using Sherwin Williams Paint. This was actual shocking experience; but do as you wish.

I own several properties and have done many construction projects, ranging from pools to kitchen remodels, and often find the process of working with contractors frustrating and, oftentimes, when it's all said and done, unhappy in one way or another. The process was timely, ended exactly when he said it would, and was right on budget with no surprises. Thank you, Chad and Orlando, for an incredible job

(There are a lot of companies/contractors out there who try to take advantage of their customers. It was refreshing for me to find a couple who were truly impressive and honest.) I chose Local San Diego Painting. Chad came out last week to review the three turrets which each having 3 rows of rough-wood trim - roughly 12', 14' and 22' from the ground and one turret was over a sunken bar area, so access above was tricky. (The surrounding ceiling is all wood, which we did not want painted.) His estimate was very reasonable and the two man crew did an excellent job. They were both very professional, and nice. They started and finished this job yesterday. They even stayed an extra hour past their normal hours to finish the job. I will not hesitate to use them at this house again and any of my rentals in the future.
