I live in Bankers Hill and I saw there was a sugaring studio called La Di Da Sugaring. I made an appointment to give it a shot and I absolutely loved it and would never go back to any other kind of wax. I used to get ingrown hair with regular waxing and since starting sugaring, I have never had any ingrown hairs or red bumps. I now recommend sugaring to everyone. This review is for Isabella. The studio itself is spotless and features such thoughtful, homey touches, I loved the philology-inspired decor! What really set it apart, though, was the heated mattress pad. It made it so easy to settle in and actually enjoy the session. Why It's Different If you have a low pain threshold or are nervous about feeling awkward, this is the place for you. Zero Awkwardness: She made me feel so empowered and comfortable in my own body. The Technique: She uses expert counter-pressure which makes the process almost painless. I had been going to one of these salons for at least 3 years. Her suite is currently located in the plaza across H-Mart and 24 Hour Fitness off of Balboa Ave in a secured building on the second floor. Her suite is cozy for Miss Kelly, her client, and the equipment she needs. I highly recommend Ms. Kelly and her services - both to those who are sensitive to pain, and even the "veterans" who have learned to "tough it out." Before booking, please take the time to read her website. You will notice that her pricing is higher than the regular waxing/sugaring establishments. This is because she takes her time prepping you and doing the wax itself, which is also why your appointment will be longer (this varies, of course). This is why the pain level is much more tolerable, and makes the price worth it. It has been a while since my first appointment with Ms. Kelly, but I have returned several times since.
