Kind of shame because the food wasn't that bad.. I had a seafood boil with shrimp and sausages on their special crab du jour sauce. 1/2lb each and the portion was generous. Also added plain noodles. A girl brought out a big bag and started shaking it wok style Before opening the bag to serve which I never experienced before. Price was not bad. It was the service or lack thereof. Never came by for and asked if needed refills. Barely came by to check up on us even though the restaurant was empty. Didn't ask how we were going to pay. Didn't even say thank you and good night as we were leaving. Just the whole crew on the floor seemed not to care at all. Place is huge but was empty. I brought my kids here to eat and before we were even greeted I was informed that there was an automatic 20% gratuity added to all checks for parties of five or more. This rubbed me the wrong way, but because I promised my children they could have dinner there we proceeded with getting our table. Food was good portions are large, but service is slow and inattentive. For a nearly $60 tip I should not have to ask for refills of water, tools to eat crab legs, and to be checked on more often than once throughout the meal. We had to get another server multiple times to help us with drink refills, and other basic requests. The restaurant was not the cleanest. Everything was sticky. The cups were questionable on cleanliness. Outside in the parking lot were piles of fresh vomit. For the cost of the meal, I expect better service, friendlier management, and a better food experience (multiple clams were not edible due to still being closed, empty snow crab legs, and corn that was obviously frozen. We got seated pretty quickly and our order was taken quickly as well. There were plenty of seating on a Saturday afternoon. It wasn't loud or crowded. We were seated in a comfy booth seat. I hadn't had seafood in so long and over ordered, but the seafood mix was delicious. The calamari was mediocre. I honestly didn't like it as much as I though I would or hoped to like it. The seafood was what I expected. We got a Seafood mix of Snow Crab Legs, shrimp, mussels and some corn. It was yummy nonetheless. We also got a fried fish po boys that's we didn't get a chance to eat since it came after the seafood and we were full. But we had it heated up at home and it was okay. Okay ... I'm a foodie (my friends say "A food snob"). I'm a ... maybe 'chef' isn't the right word. A really, really solid cook (think "beef Wellington" or homemade pasta or authentic tiramisu). First time at Crab Du Jour! We really enjoyed it! Our server, James, was delightful. He was more than willing to answer our questions and make recommendations. He and my son got into a discussion on the different degrees of heat/ spiciness. It was pretty funny. The food is sub par lots of fried options besides the seafood boils. Food tastes like oil is old. The ambiance and restaurant itself is in terrible shape. The fish tank is filled with yellow brown mucky water (we should have left at the sight of it). Doors are filthy, smelled musty and damp inside. My partner and I came to this restaurant on Columbus Day afternoon with the thought that we would be seated quickly and we were. Our service was quick but where the restaurant lost stars was due to my order for the fried shrimp Po' Boy with Cajun french fries coming with very few lukewarm fries. The sandwich itself is small but with five large shrimp (I liked this). I was disappointed that the fries that came with it was a small portion and not hot. I received 20-22 french fries and it was noticeable because I could see the paper lining the basket. Our server was nice and attentive so thank you. The food didn't wow me. It was good but it's wasn't amazing where I would rush to return to get it again. However, I will return at some point to try a seafood boil with crab legs and shrimp. Cajun seafood places have been popping up everywhere lately. Michael's restaurant shut down and was replaced with Crab du Jour recently with mixed results. The first thing that caught my attention was the small parking lot accompanying a pretty large restaurant space. In fact, when I pulled it, it was hard to maneuver because a takeout customer in a large SUV parked right in front of the entrance, making it very challenging for me, in a midsize sedan, to go around it and find parking. After carefully getting through, I entered the restaurant and there was a bottleneck as you check in. The restaurant itself is spacious, but the entrance way is too small. They really need to broaden the lobby area. As I was picking up a takeout order, my stay there wasn't very long. I grabbed my food and we had a nice dinner at home. I ordered two fried fish kid's meals for my kids. Good value and one of my sons couldn't finish all of the fish. For my wife and me, we ordered the du Jour Catch Special for $49. It came with either 1 lb. of snow crab legs, 1 lb. of Dungeness, or 2 lobster tails (6 oz. each), plus two choices of mussels, clams, shrimp (head off for $3 extra), and a couple of other options. We opted for lobster tail, clams, and shrimp (head off). The special also comes with three pieces of corn and 3 potatoes. We got it wit the garlic butter-mild, with a side of the hot sauce (which wasn't very hot). They're new, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. My wife said her lobster tail was properly cooked. Mine was overcooked. The shrimp and clams were properly prepared. I would have liked it a little spicier, but I don't know the combinations of sauces and spice levels I'd need to get it just right. For $52 (we got the shrimp with the heads off), it was a decent amount of food for two, but not quite enough. Fortunately, I was able to top off my meal with my son's leftover fish. read more

The boil spot on...the service - awful. Sat at the bar. The bartender sat on the corner stool playing on her phone the entire hour I was in the restaurant. No refill offered on my empty glass for over ten minutes. Took her 15 min to acknowledge I was done the my meal and to offer to bring the check. Ordered online and went to pickup the food, they asked for my ID which I thought they needed to confirm the name on the order, unbeknownst to me the receptionist took my ID and started walking to the other side of the room. I felt uneasy and followed him. I saw him photocopying my ID and receipt. So I asked him why he was doing that and he said they do this because some people cancel their order after pick up. All I had to say was WTH?!?! In this world of fraud and privacy concerns, I'm not comfortable with them photocopying ID's. If that's the case, they should make photocopies of everyone's drivers license and put a sign up online and in the restaurants warning people, giving them a choice to do business with them or not. So do the delivery guys make photocopies of customers ID's when delivering food?, what about those dinning-in? It needs to be consistent all around. How long do they keep the copies for?, what do they do with the information?, is it kept in a safe? Borderline discretionary if you ask me. Not cool. Not okay. Not going back. Stopped in with the roommates to try this place that has been grabbing my attention with their roadside billboards. Stopped in on a Friday expecting a large group but maybe got lucky with the timing. There was an outdoor event going on in the back that was drawing the crowd out there. Meanwhile the dining room and bar area were a little quieter for those that wanted to watch a game or family that wanted to enjoy their dinner. We were taken care of by Kai, a friendly staff member that took pretty good care of us walking us through the menu as it was our first time. There was a drink special $3 Kona Brewing Company; their Mango Cart and Big Wave. Opted for a Big Wave but was served a Mango Cart. Kai took care of it and my roommate and I enjoyed a drink on the house. They had other specials depending on the day that you come with shot specials like a variation of pickle back. We opted for their crab meat fries that were crispy topped with shredded crab meat with the sauce on the side as we were sure what it was. We ended up putting the sauce on the fries as intended to easily grab the small pieces of crab meat with our fries. We opted each for a basket both of the guys grabbing a fried oyster and soft shell crab basket while our lady of the group grabbed a crab meat po boy. Was expecting larger chunks of crab meat for the po boy but enjoyed my fried oysters. My boyfriend devoured his soft shell crabbing that was still steaming from the hot oil it was fried it. Grabbed sweet potato fries and Cajun fries to change up all the fries we had on the table. All in all, a pleasant meal with a comfy atmosphere. I came here with 2 of my friends I purchased the Du Jour combo with 1lb each of crab legs, black muscles, and shrimp. I also added a 6oz lobster tail with the special sauce and a medium spice level. If your someone who likes spice.... the medium was really light!!!!!!!! Flavor was good, although a tad bit salty! Our waitress Hailey, was really nice and intuitive with our table. The price was GREAT! There was a mixed crowd as well (age, party size). One thing, the restaurant did not practice social distancing! Every table was filled! But they do take "as much precautions" (sanitize, temp check, and a UV ray) to sanitize. I did notice them sanitizing between customers. Another advice for improvement, a better music selection. Wow nice and spacious time out at Crab Du Jour. The waiter was so nice and helpful, Nick was such a pleasure to be helped by. Just the entrance and devote alone was different and appetizing. As I sat down to have dinner it was just a breath taking view but they had the food to match the look. I had got the crab du hour special with the snow crabs legs, clams, and the green mussels. Let me tell you now I shook the bag with all the seasons and it was that much better and tasty. The chicken tender basket with fries came out hot and tasty as it should. I will definitely go back and have to get some more seafood from the place, it's definitely a step above red lobster. We walked in on a Friday night, our first clue that something was wrong was the place wasn't busy, there were people there, but no wait for a table or anything. We sat down, and were brought waters. 15 minutes and no waiter. A waitress, whose section we were clearly in, looked at us after taking an order and just walked away. No, I'll be with you in a minute or anything. I went to talk to the manager and the manager was off for the night. The bartender came over and asked what's wrong, and I told her we haven't been served or even talked to yet. This place is expensive for the quality of food they serve. What can I say about the snow crab legs I got with the special sauce, well it could use more flavor. The crab legs was just put in the bag. If you see the picture the legs have no seasoning on them, they were not even dip or tossed in the butter sauce. As far as the Crab fries and crab po'boy as SEAFOOD restaurant you would think that they would give you lump crabmeat not that lowest of low grade flaky barely existing "crabmeat". The fries had some kind of sauce on them which was sweet tasting. I pay $42 for my favorite dish at an ITALIAN restaurant for a dish that comes with jumbo lump crabmeat at a Italian restaurant. The only thing I did like is the hush puppies. My friend had the lobster roll which she said you can tell it was not fresh lobster and the shrimp were big but had no flavor. I was excited for this place to open and hoped it would give Two Claws a run for its money. The server was wonderful but the food was terrible. To start from the top, the parking lot is awkwardly set up. But never fear, there are parking spots located behind the place around a narrow corner, so long as you don't hit the post or a person. We walked in and the hostess was on the phone, which was totally fine for the first 5 minutes, but awarded us too much time to notice the flys swirling the hostess stand and the rest of the restaurant. For covid purposes, we walked around the entire dining room following the hostess to be seated in the area where we began.. right inside the main hall, by the hostess stand. Aside from the unnecessary workout (i was there to eat) this was great at first because we got service fast... however, a traveling couple who ensured everyone in a 5 booth radius was aware they were from Florida, took off shortly after we sat down and stood right outside the entrance to smoke for at least 30 minutes. Can you see where I'm going with this? The smoke leaked its way into the lobby and the dining hall next to the entrance and filled the room. If it was a different plant being smoked, it would've been nice.. but trying to eat seafood and inhaling 4th degree cigarette smoke isn't as fun, I've learned. Every item in the boil was over cooked. How do you f*** up corn on the cob? To pay 30-40 dollars for a seafood boil to get extremely small, and I mean small, king crab legs..... is just.... Yikes. The seasoning was bland and I regretted coming here from start to finish once I smelled the butter. It was a good try tho. If you ever get the chance, just pass. read more

I sent it back and the kitchen definitely just reboiled it because I could still taste the garlic. The servers were very loudly huddled and using super inappropriate language. I ordered Diet Coke and the server returned a few minutes later and asked if Diet Pepsi was ok. I said yes, and a few minutes after that he came back and said they don't have diet soda. I asked for water. There are not a lot of appetizers to choose from, so we went with stuffed jalapeños. My dad wanted fish so he asked what kind of fish was in the fried basket and the server said Japanese catfish. What?? Yuck. I went with the fried shrimp po'boy and my dad decided to get the same. The server brought out our fried jalapenos which were ok, but clearly from a bag and dropped into the fryer. The tomato sauce was terrible, think chefboyardee flavor. The server then brought my dad's po'boy and I said you are bringing out mine too, right? He said yes, and I thought he would be right back. 15 minutes later someone else brought out my po'boy. The sandwich was covered in some kind of gross mayonaise which I scraped off. The shrimp were actually pretty decent but not enough to make up for this fiasco. During all of this, the absolute worst singers on the planet were singing at the top of their lungs to music that was so loud we could not hear each other talk. My father described it as the worst place he has ever eaten in his entire life, and called his friend to see what was wrong with her for recommending it. It's a big fat zero, don't waste your money. I was passing through the area and decided to stop at this restaurant. I read the reviews on Yelp! And started crab bisque. It came out warm and thick. A nice sized bowl for $7.99! Next I had the pick-your-own dinner. I picked the 1/2 lb. of scallops for $14.99. They cook everything in a bag and bring it out to the table! Let me start by saying that I was excited for this place to open! I couldn't WAIT! So, the opportunity presented itself to try this place, and we did. I and my son ordered the Crab Po Boy, with Cajun Fries. My wife ordered the fish, and my other kids ordered chicken. We also ordered some onion rings as an appetizer. First of all, the "Cajun" fries were nothing more than Walmart style "seasoned fries". They had no flavor other than some mild stuff that is on them when you buy them frozen (About $4.00 for a large bag). There was NOTHING "cajun" about them. The Po Boy was ok... The roll was good, and it tasted "ok". However, paying $12.99 for about 2 tablespoons of crab meat, (which wasn't anything special) and a handful of cheapie walmart seasoned fries left a bad taste in my mouth. The fish that my wife had was a little better. I wished I had gotten that instead of the Po Boy.. However, it wasn't anything special either. There are a couple of diners in the area that sell the same thing for cheaper. And I am complaining because this place bills itself as a seafood restaurant. And I payed about $2-3 more than I would have at any other place! You would think they might kick the cuisine up a notch. The chicken that my other kids got..., well chicken is chicken... Except for the fact that it was very tough, and had almost no flavor to it at all. It was quite bland. Finally, the appetizer...the onion rings...They were also basic.... Walmart quality..(About $4-5 for a large bag). And they charged $4.99 for an order. They were not terrible. They had more flavor than the "cajun" fries did. At the end of the day, we paid more than we would have for Red Lobster, and got basically "diner food". I am disappointed. I SO wanted to like this place! When the manager came by to ask how we liked the food, I just kind of shook my head. I didn't want to say anything, because I didn't want to be impolite. Place is so run down they had duct tape holding the toilet paper holders up. The roof was leaking so buckets & stuff right in the dining room. Took awhile for service even though the restaurant was basically empty. The food wasn't even all that great for the price. After we left my daughter had to vomit within 10 minutes of leaving the place & me & my sons were on the toilets that night. I got the crab cake platter, frozen crab cakes that they burnt but were cold when they came out.
