Recently discovered that this spot just opened up nearby! There's barely any seafood-by-the-pound spots in the area so I knew I had to try it out ASAP. I love seafood and I'm glad they opened this up here. Given that this is in Deep Ellum, parking may be difficult to find during the weekends/busy times. However, we went on a Tuesday and easily found street parking. They also have a few parking stalls to the side of the building. Upon entering we were greeted immediately. The space is clean, decently sized and had tables perfect for groups. They have a bar area with TVs all over the walls. The servers were as attentive as they can get and immediately told us of the happy hour specials. Happy Hour is Monday-Friday 12pm-6pm. For drinks we got $5 HH Margaritas, and for starters we had a dozen of the $0.75 HH Oysters on the Half Shell! Such awesome happy hour deals. We also tried half a dozen of the Cajun Garlic Parmesan Oysters ($11) which were to die for; we had to stop ourselves from ordering more so that we can save room for the main course lol. Now for the real star of the show: seafood in a bag. We order Sack #3 ($78) which had 2 snow crab clusters (~1.25 lbs), 4 lb fresh crawfish, 1 lb head-on shrimp, 2 sweet corn on the cob, 2 potatoes and 2 sausages. We decided to add another 2 clusters of snow crab ($25/1.25 lb). We ordered "extra shazam" spice level and it was the perfect amount of kick for us. So excited to see that the sauce had so much garlic in it lol. Without tip, the total was around $150. Tbh I think it's worth it esp if you go during happy hour! For people expecting Louisiana-style crawfish/seafood boil, don't go here. This is more like Viet-Cajun style that is very similar to Boiling Crab. Complete 360!! This place is my favorite place to get crab! The sauce is unmatched! The crab is always big and juicy. Potatoes, corn, egg EVERYTHING in the boil is soooo good. First off, the service was super friendly. But, sadly, the seafood sack was overcooked. We ordered the Coral Sea which comes with 1 lb. crawfish, 1 lb. shrimp, 1.25 lb snow crab, 2 corns, potatoes, and sausage. The sauce was good garlicky and slightly spicy. Since the seafood was overcooked, it would not come out of the shell nicely and most of the meat was mushy. Out of the whole lot, I had maybe 3 shrimp that we cooked so it was peelable. The crab shells were not crackable, just bended. I had to use the point tips of the legs to dig out the meat. My dad, on the other hand, ordered the Mix N' Match with catfish, dirty rice, and salad. The vibe is chill but like I mentioned earlier go in the day time I've noticed the ambience changes and the food taste better as well. I saw this place was new on Yelp, and thought I'd give it a try. They have only been open a few weeks. My girlfriend saw gumbo on the menu, and she was sold! When we got there she ordered the gumbo, and we were told their gumbo station wasn't working. Strike one! They were also out of crab cakes, which she also wanted. Strike two! So basically everything my girlfriend wanted wasn't available. The Calamari is good, it's not in the typical circular cut, which I think is nice. Pieces are asymmetrical and varying in size, which makes each piece a little different texture. A bit too much breading for me, and one piece in particular was so large it made for awkward sharing. The hush puppies were not very good. Very bland, basically jiffy corn meal condensed into balls. My girlfriend and I each took one bite. The Saints Salad is okay. The only dressing they had available was ranch. It's a plain old salad, the chicken is good, they forgot to bring this dish out with the other dishes, and forgot to put cheese on it when it did arrive after asking. Seafood Sack #1 was not good. The crawfish shells were so hard, it was nearly impossible to peel them. The shrimp were over cooked and fell apart. The sausage was ok. I would have ordered the T.K.O. spice, but they wanted to charge an extra dollar for that, and I didn't like the idea of being nickeled and dimed, so I ordered the flame thrower spice. It wasn't spicy at all, and had a very heavy garlic flavor. If you're expecting typical Cajun flavoring, it's not that at all. The waiter asked if I wanted the heads on the shrimp, or not. I'm indifferent to this but told him no heads, at which he informed me that would be an extra dollar. More nickel and diming... I got them with the heads on. Strike three! I complained to the staff about my boiled seafood sack, and they handled it very well. The manager comped the item, and was apologetic. I had the charbroiled oysters and the Wagyu burger, both were delicious! The oysters were juicy and full of flavor with just a touch of hot sauce they were perfect! I was excited to return to the Crab Station, after visiting their Walnut Creek version. The calamari we had was good. The price for crawfish was $16.95 which is a total scam! As someone who has worked plenty of crawfish seasons, I was flabbergasted and disappointed in them charging $16.95 a pound for crawfish. Maybe it is due to the location?? It was crowded so we sat at the bar to bypass the wait for a table. The bartender gave us water as she greeted us and took our drink order. Shortly after another bar staff came over and took our order. We ordered the charbroiled oysters for an appetizer, for our meals shrimp, crab legs, potatoes and corn. If you're an avid seafood lover who likes spice and mouth watering flavor, this might not be the place for you. The sauce it comes with just had a weird flavor to it. As well, for the price of the seafood boil the least they could've done was add more shrimp and potatoes to make it more filling. There's a place I frequent in Richardson that almost doubles the amount of food for the same, if not cheaper price point & has a much better flavor/spice profile. This place is really a 10!! I have only had charbroiled oysters in NOLA and the ones at crab station are the closest I've come to them since. Packed with garlic and Parmesan they are perfect! I love the different combos they have are good for groups and you can try a bit of everything without breaking the bank. The service from the start was good but when I asked for a particular table a few things happened. First, I was told they would send someone over so I waited. After waiting 20mins or so, I poked my head to get one of the staff's attention (they were all in a group talking) they all made contact all but one had a dismissive look. Here's the deets... The ENVIRONMENT-- I've already mentioned how amazing the staff is but if you ever get a chance to have Elmer as your server you are in for a treat. His attentive and accommodating personality is delightful and I always feel lucky when I get home as my server. Pre-Covid, this place required reservations and/or you'd be waiting a while for a table. Post-Covid, it's best to just order to go or come early. The music makes me dance while I eat and the overall, vibe is always really great. Btw... I've only ever seen 1 or 2 small children eating here. It's normally a younger crowd, couples, groups of friends, etc.. The FOOD-- I've only ever ordered a handful of things: snow crab, potatoes, corn on the cob, sausage, oysters on the half shell and them dang Parmesan chicken wings. This place was horrible. My Son and I was seated as soon as we walked. (Sunday night around 8 PM) we were able to look over the menu to figure out what we want. We sat there for 15 minutes until I pull the hostess to the side to ask, where was our waitress. There was two tables that came in after us, but was served before us. One table had two people. The other table had four people keep in mind it was just me and my son. The hostess told me that our waitress was in the back getting food that was coming out for one of her other tables. I'm assuming it took her 15 minutes to get this food. Desiree, our waitress comes over to our table and this chic reeks of weed. There was no oh I apologize. Oh I'm sorry the first thing she says to us is oh I didn't know y'all was waiting on me. I didn't know I had a table over here. I proceeded to tell her what I wanted to drink and while you're at it, I wanna go ahead and place my food order the first thing I asked for was oysters. She told me they did not have the charbroiled So I chose another flavor. I also told her what I wanted for my entrée. I wanted the garlic, butter, snow crab boil with two eggs, corn and sausage. She says. "We ain't got no eggs" I said ok then. I'm good I don't need anything else My Son placed his order. Our entrées came out. She came and saw the food on the table and rushed off. I never received my oysters. She did not apologize for not putting the order in or anything. So number one customer service was horrible. Number two the food was two. Garlic butter that they have as a flavor. I recommend no one to ever get that. I ate a piece of the sausage and was immediately dissatisfied. I asked for it to go box because I wanted to take that stuff home and rinse that shit off and re-prepare it. This was my first and last time coming to this place. Tried the Bacon Rockefeller, Cajun Garlic Parmesan, Chargrilled with their medium sauce and of course, the regular raw. They were pretty decent. No complaints on the raw or chargrilled but the other 2 flavors, although good were a little dry from the toppings being baked or chargrilled on. There were also pieces of shell when I ate a few which is why I gave them 4 stars. Nonetheless, the atmosphere was great, real diverse crowd, music was playing and I had a good time! I came in on a Saturday night, it was pretty busy so there was about a 15-20 minute wait. I wanted to try this location because the one in the colony is horrible. My experience here compared to that one was night and day! When I first walked in I noticed this location didn't have a fishy odor, the colony one ALWAYS smelled really fishy meaning the seafood they use isn't fresh. I had the Parmesan roasted oysters for an appetizer and they were good. I ordered the Atlantic combo which had shrimp, potatoes, sausage, corn and snow crab. I was surprised at how much they gave it was large amount. 2 whole crab clusters! Boiling crab gives 1 small cluster for double the amount they charge! I was so full by the end. The food tasted fresh and had an amazing flavor, so much tastier then the colony I was shocked at how different it was! I like to order their sack 1.5 or 2.5 with a side of white rice as the portion and price point is perfect for lunch! If you like spicy, go for flame thrower or T.K.O and you won't be disappointed! T.K.O sauce is made of ghost pepper so it'll give you some serious burn even for a spicy lover. Maybe ask for a taste so you won't regret it later. I HIGHLY suggest getting a side of rice and mixing it with the delicious sauce that comes with the boil- thank me later! The raw oysters are the only thing I recommend. Everything else was nasty. Also be weary that there is an extra fee to use a card/Apple Pay. I was unaware and saw that my account was charged more than I paid and signed for which made me think the waiter put an extra tip on top of mine and come to think of it...he probably did because if they are going to charge extra for card...that's cost should've been incorporated in to what I signed for but this review is a month late so all good. Great Food! I ordered the number 2 and it was $40 it came with shrimp, crab potato and corn I opted out of sausage for an extra corn. Our waiter for the evening Elmer was SUPER informative, attentive and welcoming he explained everything down to the sauce. We went with the original sauce instead of the Shazam thanks to Elmer. The original is spicy I couldn't have enjoyed my meal with the Shazam lol. We got a side of Cajun fries and split the meal. We used the check in for drinks which were really yummy. Not too strong.
