Arrived 3 minutes before happy hour was over. Got the happy hour drink deals. Mexican lollipop shots were delicious. House margaritas were huge (not enough liquor though) just tasted like margarita mix. WE DEVOURED the food, the food did NOT stand a chance. The medium sauce was not spicy enough for me. Would have liked more of a spice but it was still really tasty. Quick service, really friendly staff, great music. Definitely recommend.

Horrible service!!!! All the waitresses sat at one table and talked the whole time. One stares directly at you as you are waiving to get someone attention. Does she get up? Nope, she tells your waitress to the right of her, hey they are calling you. Yet you would think someone would get up by now? Nope! My husband got up and asked them for boxes and a bag. She also told us she was going to give my son a complimentary pudding cake for his birthday and failed to do so. Why? Because they were so busy chit chatting the whole time. Never would I come back to this place or recommend it. We barely ate our food. Total was $130 for medicore food and horrible service. Beware of parking. We paid and got booted. The guy came back to take off the boot and apologized that the system failed to update?!?!?

WORST SERVICE EVER! I advise everyone not to come here. We came on a Sunday two people. There was only two other parties in there and the waiters didn't even bother to come over for drinks or anything. Not a hi or anything when walking in. Waited ten minutes with the waiters sitting in the back talking and on their phones. Then two guys came in after and were given waters and stuff before us. Waste of time so we ended up leaving. How is there bad service when the place is empty?

I had high hopes for this spot because crab boils are my thing. It fell flat and quickly.. it started with the waitress, she was unfriendly and just didn't exude any form of customer service. I asked for something extra and instead of responding, she just walked off and later returned with what I asked for. When she walked away I wasn't even sure if she heard me lol. The bathroom was legit disgusting.. there's no way it's been cleaned this week. I should have walked out after seeing how dirty it was. I ordered headless shrimp with garlic noodles, corn, and sausage. I opened the bag and began to chow down only to discover that the shrimp weren't cleaned. You could literally see the veins and they hadn't been split from the back, making it extremely hard to eat. They were also overcooked and chewy. I was starving so I ate the noodles and sausage and left the shrimp . The two stars are for that only . I'd say beware if you're a shrimp lover because it's a negative for me.

So I'm new to the area and I was craving some crab legs. Look on Yelp and saw this place. I was already heading to deep ellum so I decided to go here. The place has a nice vibe and the servers and bartenders are great!!! I had a blast talking to them.... The food on the other hand was underwhelming and average. Like everything was over cooked. The crabs were dried out , and the shrimp was mushy... and the sauce was wayyyy to creamy. Like I know I'm not gone have Blove sauce everywhere I go but I at least want more of a butter mixture and not that. I would only come back for the drinks and conversation with some pretty dope people. But that's just me. The oysters was good but you better watch out cause you can def chip a tooth on the bits of rock in them.

Thanks to Tik Tok, I found this restaurant and I was beyond excited to find out there was a drink and oyster happy hour between 4 to 6pm. After we were seated, it took a little while for a server to come to us. However, one of the bartenders was a server, too, so we understood that she was a little busy. I quickly ordered a dozen raw oysters ($1 a piece) and a $5 margarita. The oysters were beyond delicious, salty, and just the right size. The margarita was perfect and had just the right amount of tequila. Overall, I would definitely return again whenever I'm in Texas, and if in the area, be sure to stop by.

Our server was wonderful! Attentive and helpful! The food was delicious! Flavor was out of bounds delish! It was my daughter's 18th Birthday and she gives Crab Station a 10/10! We will definitely be back very soon! The vibe was chill, family friendly, good music

Where do I start? Well what a hot mess of a place this is. Waited 45 mins before we could go in. Ok fine, we waited, 45 mins later we were seated. We got seated, drinks order went in so we waited. Another 40 mins later no drinks. After reaching out to our server/bartender still no drinks. Finally almost an hour later, drinks came. So we ordered appetizers and our food right away in case we ddnt see him again. Waited almost another hour for our food. We were told we had to wait, because they were backed up with online orders and we were way down on the list. Wanted to try this restaurant because of course that's what we do. We love seafood. What a disappointment. Our stomach got so upset after eating the food and fanning away all those flies in the restaurant. The delivery guy almost ran over someone at our table, 9 o'clock at night. Wow what a mess!! I will never go back. If you do visit be prepared to wait for at least an hour and 30 mins. Also eat a snack before you go.

    Blackened catfish plate

My wife and myself are staying in deep ellum for a month so while we are here we have been trying different restaurants out and decided on this restaurant. The staff was very friendly and sat us quickly. Being from Louisiana we settled on blackened catfish over rice for my wife and fried catfish and fried shrimp for me. Hers came out with 2 big filets, big enough for 2 people to eat. Mine came with one large fried filet. I blacken catfish all the time at home and they did a pretty good job. Seasoning and flavor was great on both, and the meat seemed to be real channel catfish not the cheaper swai catfish most restaurants used. I asked my waitress if it was local Texas meat or imported, she said that it was imported. The dining area was pretty basic but well kept and clean. Over all we were very glad we gave it a try, I can't speak on the crab or other boiled seafood but it looked like the kind the boil in a bag and bring it out covered in a butter sauce. I'm not a big fan of that method, it looks cheap and is too messy. But if your looked for great catfish they have it down!

One of the gems in Deep Ellum neighborhood, fresh seafood and flavorful seasonings can be found here. Management has much to improve on. What a hot mess with the service, my friend and I almost walked out a few times. When we entered we waited 10-15 minutes without any acknowledgement or recognition. Then when one of the managers came by to greet us he was a frantic mess and admitted that there were tables available but he was unsure about the assignment of tables and which of his staff would be free to tend to us. He promised to BE RIGHT BACK. Guess what?? HE NEVER CAME BACK!! My friend and I were so fed up, we were about to leave when T-Mo Bedford comes in to SAVE THE DAY!! We really appreciated his save because we would have lost out on the opportunity to eat deliciously fresh seafood here had we left from the terrible neglectful service by the so called manager. T-Mo really took care of us the rest of the night. It was almost ironic that 3 or 4 different people came by to check up on us cause they were all unsure of table assignments, since management was such a mess... None of the other staff ever brought me anything I actually asked for. I would literally end up re-asking T-Mo every time since he was the only person who seemed to be doing anything right. Much love to T-Mo and if management is reading this, please give him some love! My friend and I decided to share The Coral Sea sack ($57**subject to market pricing) original or medium level spicy. The Coral Sea sack came with 1 lb crawfish, 1 lb shrimp, 1.25 lb snow crab, 2 corns, potatoes and sausage. It was beyond more than enough for us to share. The seafood was SO FRESHHHHH!! Best cajun experience ever. I have similar businesses in my area, but the quality does not match the freshness of the crawfish here. The crawfish was so fresh peeling it was so much easier with the meat not sticking to the shell and I was able to do the crawfish tail wiggle to pull out its' poop sack. We had such a fun time peeling, sucking and grubbing on our glorious feast. I definitely ate more than my usual capacity since the meal was so enjoyable. My friend and I looked back at this glorious meal and we kept saying wow! The food was so good, glad we didn't walk out! T-Mo really saved our encounter with this restaurant and our overall vacation experience. I really hope management gets a handle on things as soon as possible because good food is pointless if the customers are frustrated before they have a chance to sit down.

75¢ Oysters on the Half Shell for happy hour!
    Josh M.

When I'm traveling I always look out for a good seafood boil establishment, and I was happy to find Crab Station not too far from my Dallas hotel. When I arrived at 5:30-ish the waiter announced we were at the tail end of Happy Hour (oh yeah, I capitalize Happy Hour). In addition to drink discounts, they were also offering 75¢ oysters on the half shell. I gladly ordered up a 1/2 dozen and wine to start the meal (see picture). I then grabbed some wings with Flame Thrower seafood sauce (also pictured) and a boil bag of head-on shrimp and clams in Extra Shazam sauce. While I love spice and heat, I feel my decision to get Extra Shazam on the seafood and Flame Thrower on the wings happened to be an excellent choice. Parking wasn't too challenging, however, you'll most likely need to use one of the paid lots nearby. FYI: FAMILIES bringing their kids during the early afternoon/happy hour window might find the radio station tuned to explicit material. Once it passed 6 p.m., however, the music suddenly stopped and was then tuned to a more traditional offering.

Ask the Community - Crab Station - Deep Ellum

Are the crab boils gluten free?

It depends on what Cajun spice they use. I would call them. Some crab boil mixes have gluten ingredients.

Do they have happy hour? If so, what are the specials?

Yes there are happy hour specials. Monday to Friday from open to 6pm 75 cent raw oysters by the dozen…

I made a reservation and placed in the notes the occasion. The preparation and attention to detail was so appreciated. The food was good. In total transparency, the King crab was a bit over cooked. I believe this could be a one off situation because I have had crab here before that was perfect. Although I did not make a huge issue of it the brief mention of it I made to Dawn, my impeccable server, caused her to relay the dissatisfaction. Once the Manager, Deshon Ford, was made aware he truly went through great lengths to make sure I felt appreciated and the concern was addressed. Maggie was also a warm welcome and a delight to encounter. This is what was ordered: King crab: 7/10 the precut of the shell is very helpful. It did not have the natural sweetness I normally experience. The squeeze of lemon does wake up the flavor a little bit but the cook process did not afford the tender luxury as expected. The lemon butter sauce is good but could be great if using clarified butter with minced garlic and a hint of seasoning was considered. Crab fried rice: 7/10 the presentation and the way it was assembled is great. I also like the ingredients. I could not tell if there was crab throughout. I did see the pieces of shredded crab sprinkled on top. This would be a 10 if it was seasoned a bit more to wake up the palette and there was visible lump crab mixed in throughout along with brown butter. Meatball appetizer: 10/10 I could tell the quality of the meat is high. The ingredients and seasoning is on point. They were perfectly cooked. Still tender in the inside and a crisp on the outside. The sauce on top brought the flavor to a well rounded party in your mouth. Natural chicken: 12/10 I tried a few bites of this meal since it was not what I ordered and it was the best meal of all. The chicken was so tender, delectable and excellently cooked. The potato mixture and the capers are well paired and oh sooooo goood. Bread roll with fresh Parmesan:10/10 So fresh, fluffy, soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. The light and fluffy Parmesan sprinkled all over the top elevates the bread to the clouds. The fresh whipped butter is also a great element of flavor with every bite. Mediterranean salad: 8/10 I was thinking this sals did not come with lettuce. The crab, olives, feta, cherry tomatoes, and calamari are a great pairing. The calamari was a bit chewy. All of the other ingredients are good. I think the dressing could use more depth in flavor to help incorporate such good ingredients. Whalla: 10/10 this drink was so lovely and well balanced. A thoughtful mix of ingredients.Loved the smokey presentation.

The only thing that was brought to our table was dry bread and cold/hard butter. Our waitress name was Kristine and honestly she was the worst i've ever had! The oaklawn location is THE WORST location i've ever been too and I've been to all of the Atlanta locations, the Alabama location and all of the Dallas, Texas locations and I have NEVER had a bad experience. Meanwhile the waiter didn't bring my drink when she brought everyone else's then when I mentioned it she told me I never ordered one! The issue here was the entire right side of the table heard me order my drink and also state that I would be taking care of my sisters drink. We asked for the manager 10 times and someone by the name of Andrea showed up maybe 2 or 3 times out of the 10 with NO SOLUTIONS. The majority of our party ordered from the restaurant week menu so the orders were simple but incomplete and dissatisfying! My shrimp gumbo came out after 1 hour and 40 minutes COLD! Everyone else's came out decent, the waiter Kristine acted as if she ain't understand the issue! I stated that I didn't want any more gumbo after she said she can bring out another. I wasn't offered anything else although on the restaurant weeks menu there were 2 other options. Next, 45 more minutes went by and the waiter came out stating that the dirty rice that came with the majority of our 2nd courses was sold out. Next we all questioning what our options are. 20 more minutes go by and the supposed manager Andrea states that they are sold out of the 3rd course (cheesecake) that the entire table ordered. needless to say for the 2nd course the waiter stated that we could get crab rice instead of dirty rice. Most of us agreed and it came out DRY AF and nasty bug at this point we don't even care we gave up. All of the table received theirs but the birthday girl never got her rice so we asked questions of course the waiter is clueless and the rice later comes out separate from her meal! After that remember they said the dessert of our choice is no more so they bring the bill. We ask if we can get our cake for birthday girl and some guy comes and slams it on the table as if he has any reason to be irritated after what we've been through! The bill was complete bullshit! At that point we don't want our food, we've had a terrible experience but there really wasn't any accountability for anything! We were met with blaming of being short staffed and the kitchen! NEXT, I state that I wont be paying my bill until I speak with the manager and our waiter inappropriately asks me my age! Why that mattered and why she asked me that is still unclear but I tell her my age has nothing to do with my asks of her! Next she explained the check saying that I received over $25 in discounts and after my calculations that was a lie! I went ahead and paid the bill out of frustration although I should've left the shit on the table and walked out! The waiter watches me pay and skip the tip and then INAPPROPRIATELY STATES that I skipped the TIP! I proceeded to tell her that she DIDN'T DESERVE a tip! Her attitude continues and I don't care nor do I say anything else. I approached the manager Andrea to ask one more time if she was really the manager and her, the waiter and some other lady were smirking! THIS experience was Unnecessary , Unacceptable, and Unprofessional and I will not stand for it! I want a refund as this food was thrown in the trash! All of your staff at every location should be on one accord and i'm just not going to accept how we were treated at this location! You all literally ruined a birthday and that's sad!

Fresh seafood? Upscale dining vibes? Everyday HH? Yes, please!…read more Love Ocean Prime, definitely one of my favorite seafood restaurants! The restaurant is absolutely gorgeous! There is a separate lounge where HH is served - not just at the bar - but the entire lounge space, win! Service was great - attentive and efficient. Ordered the margarita, crab cake and lobster roll. 10/10 recommend all. I'm a stickler for a good crab cake and theirs is done right - loaded with crab and very little to no filler. The popcorn they bring to you as a starter snack is a cute touch. I was eyeing the seabass so I'll definitely try that next time. Parking was great too - there is an attached garage and OP validates.

We were celebrating a birthday, and when we asked for the complimentary birthday cake, it took 35 minutes to come out. At that point, we were tired of waiting and decided to leave without it. After we left, they actually left me a voicemail asking if I still wanted the cake! The only bright spot was Denise, who was absolutely wonderful and provided great service. She was friendly, attentive, and genuinely seemed to care. Unfortunately, the overall experience was extremely disappointing, especially for a restaurant at this price point. The food was great, but the service and organization need serious improvement.
