The Cracked Nut really has the code cracked for a solid casual dining experience. I wasn't sure which choice of delish sambo-combos I wanted, so the lovely girl behind the counter let me make my very own sambo-combo combo.. and good god was it sensational. I have nine words for you people; smoked-salmon-with-roasted-pear-and-goats-cheese-salad sandwich. Do it. Relish it. Smother it. Savour it. The staff were great, the food was great, the only slightly negative comment I have to make is that there wasn't really enough seating (and I'm not a fan of sharing a big table with other people, but that might just be my problem).

Cute seating inside and some outdoor seating when the sun decides to shine on us dear dubliners... Line up of some super fresh organic and free range ingredients making up some amazing salad, sandwich and soup options and hey the coffee counter has everything you want of a barista, so ye got your regular options of coffee coupled with teas and the new must have drink, matcha green tea latte - OMHoliness! Very cute and friendly place that I visited for lunch today in Dublin. Places that have a good variety of healthy options are never a bad thing in my book as it gives you that moment of feeling pleased with yourself amongst and load of Guinness and fast food guilt while getting involved with the local scene here ;) I had the salad bar option which was a selection of mixed salads and rice dishes served with a range of dressings which came with a cup of pea and mint soup. The salad was the star for me, it was fresh and really flavourful and did not feel at all boring which some salads can suffer from. Shout out to the caesar dressing which seemed home made and really amazing. The prices here seem decent, the vibe is cool a the the staff are smiley and up beat. A great afternoon lunch spot o can recommend especially for those on a health kick.

Oh the amazing smell of good food that hits you when you walk in here is intoxicating. They have lovely healthy food and drinks for sale along there walls including the now trendy Matcha as well as other lovely teas. There salad and sandwich display is so tempting, but that is all too healthy for me, what I come here for is their excellent coffee. Umm, it is good and cheap only 2euro for a good sized to go cup. But it is nearly impossible to resist the sweet tempting goodies they have conveniently placed by the coffee counter. Their scones are some of the best I have tried, and again, I have tried a lot, their apple cinnamon scone is a particular favourite and they have been doing an early morning coffee and scone/cake deal for 3euro. Bargain! This is the best place to pop in for a lovely treat or something a bit more virtuous if you are that way inclined. Next time I am in I am going to try one of their delicious looking and sounding soups and artisan bread. Just what is needed this weather!

    Coconut Matcha almond latte... Yum!!

Super impressed with this place, i never knew a place like this existed in town. The offer a wide variety of milks from soya, skimmed and even almond. I opted for a coconut matcha almond latte.. Wow! The staff were great and super helpful. The salads looks delish, I'll be heading there for lunch shortly to try them out. I headed down at lunch time and the place was jammed! Always a good sign! Definitely my new favourite coffee house!

This is the perfect place to grab a healthy lunch in clean, minimal surroundings and for reasonable prices! I got the pre-made BLT ciabatta and had it toasted. As far as "BLT" goes it's a bit of a stretch, it's really more of a gammon & greens & relish sandwich, but it was delicious nonetheless! There are nice seats outside when it's sunny and it's nice and cool inside with a few tables and bar seats around. There's also a random selection of teas and essential oils should that take your fancy. The selection of sweets at the counter is hard to resist as someone below mentioned, and I tried some of the lemon drizzle cake. It was perfectly lemony and not too sweet but the cake was a little dry for my liking. Still an enjoyable lunch overall.

My new place for lunch :) it's nice, I can actually say Eco friendly place with relaxing music, and cozy atmosphere. Tell the truth I was little confusing with menu. Don't get me wrong I like this place and would come here again. Just was confusing with timing. I would love try their scone and coffee for €3,50 until 11am or home made juice for €3,20 small bottle and large for €5,95. I've got sandwich for €5,90. Tuna with onions, eggs, salad leaves. I like their shelves with Eco friendly products like shampoo or candles, tea, honey and some other stuff.

Wow what a lovely little place! And they serve yummy food too:-) I love the blue walls, the tiny tables, the big windows and the cute wooden shelfs filled with delicious treats like teas and chocolates. I had a delicious tomato soup and a big salad. You can chose from the salad bar and simply fill your plate and the salads are really amazing. I also had the spicy chai latte which could have been a bit more spicy but all in all I had a lovely stay and can definitely recommend coming here for a healthy, delicious and easy meal!

Finally made it into here today, was dying to check them out . As I did not have that much time today I went for the take away option but while scanning the shop defo will be back for a sit down meal soon. As I had a matcha latte earlier on today I continued my going green food theme for the day and ordered a cup of their spinach kale soup and a little match orange raw ball to go along. I loved seeing that almost all their sweet treat were GF and vegan friendly, defo big plus on my behalf and I still cant stop thinking about this amazing tempting looking vegan chocolate raspberry cake which is stuck on my mind ever since I left the shop in the afternoon..

After doing some online research for affordable breakfast places, we decided to visit Cracked Nut. It was a relatively small, hipster and pleasant little cafe. We were given a jug of cucumber infused water and two glasses upon arrival which was nice. Their menu is fairly simple and their sandwiches are on display by the cashier (which allows you to see what the sandwich is composed of - you can choose to grab the one you see displaced or get the same wrapped sandwich in the refrigerator). They also have free wifi, just ask for the password. I ordered avocado toast with poached eggs (about 8 euro) and added salmon (+ about 2 euro) as well as a latte (about 3.5 euro). The toast was absolutely delicious and I was pleasantly surprised with the amount of smoked salmon they gave me (it didn't look like a lot but it was a good amount). The latte was also very good. After eating we ordered a scone which came with butter and mix berry jam which was scrumptious. We sat there for a while after finishing our food and nobody bothered us to leave - the service was very relaxed. I definitely recommend this place, great for breakfast or even for getting work done while sipping on a delicious cup of coffee.

    Lovely window seat!

On a bright, sunny day in the city, I headed to Cracked Nut. After barely an introduction and a confusing greeting, I sat down. 'Hi! (Sees people cleaning and the place relatively empty) are you still open?' 'Yes' 'OK....can I sit down' 'yes' 'OK. Are you still serving food?' 'No' I decide to just put my stuff down at a table and then go back up to the counter since the place wasn't closing and the back and forth was making my stuff even heavier. Good news - they were still serving coffee so I order a flat white and a berry Danish. A nice Danish and a nice enough flat white. It's a great spot for people watching and decent for a quick snack!

€2 for a soya cappuccino. Cheapest I've found yet. I'll never be able to walk by this place again without picking up a coffee.

For my tastes the double baked eggs were overdone, but that's double baked for you. Everything else was so delicious though that I truly didn't even notice. It was a wonderful pile of meat overflowing out of a little skillet with a stack of soda bread and butter. Truly it was a delight. I also ordered up their irish coffee. This was especially fun because it's not a simple shot of whiskey, coffee and cream. They create a brown sugar syrup blended with the whiskey to cook off the alcohol but retain the flavor. This means you can day drink and not even bat an eye at it being strange. The flavor was delicious and I'll be trying to recreate this at home for sure.

I walked in on a Wednesday morning, right as they opened at 9am, and was seated immediately. The sit-in part of Brother Hubbard is bright, relaxing, spacious with plenty of tables inside and there's a patio outside with plenty of tables as well. The waitress came over with a menu and gave me plenty of time to look it over. She was very courteous and pleasant, checking in throughout my time there, never hovering. For breakfast, I ordered an Americano, a ginger scone, and their Irish Oat Porridge - Classic. Their porridge is organic oats made with milk and with ordering it as "Classic", it was served with cream and honey. Starting with the ginger scone, this was another case of a perfectly baked scone - Crispy, golden exterior with a moist, buttery interior. The flavor of ginger was perfectly balanced and the raisins inside were a nice supplement to the scone. The porridge was really good, I loved the creaminess of it! Both did a nice job of filling me up and setting me up for the day of walking to come. Funny enough, around 3:30pm, I stopped here again to grab a mid-afternoon treat and ordered the chocolate and hazelnut Babka, their soft bun filled with chocolate and toasted hazelnuts. This pastry was crazy tasty! A slightly crispy exterior with a croissant-like inside chocked full of chocolate and those toasted hazelnuts. This was so rich and truly decadent.
