So i heard about the Blue algae latte in cracked nut and decided to give it a try. I saw 3 other flavours on the menu; beetroot, charcoal and turmeric latte so I ordered 3 flavours apart from the beetroot. The algae latte is quite interesting esp that its made of almond milk, algae powder and lemon, very nice and suitable for this cold weather. The second one was charcoal which is also made from almond milk and it has mica which gives it a sweet ( kinda caramel taste) and smooth taste. The last flavour I tried was the turmeric which I though was a failure for 2 reasons: 1/ too much turmeric ( you dont need more than tea spoon to get a bright colour) very strongg flavour 2/ it leaves a strong Yellow stain on your lips and teeth which you cant get rid off! No joke I had one sip and i couldnt smile for the whole day and I tried to my best to get rid of it but Noooo ‍ Anyway it was a nice experience, although i still feel 4 € for turmeric latte is a bit much especially with after yellowish smile you get . read more

Yum. If you're looking for healthy food at a really great price, with comfortable surroundings and very pleasant staff, look no further. They seem to have rejigged the lay out a bit as well - it used to be a little cramped inside, but now it's lovely. Really bright and airy, with big windows to look outside if the weather is bad, or little tables and chairs out front if it's not. I got a mixed salad which was fresh and delicious - they do them to eat in or take out. I wasn't sure which choice of delish sambo-combos I wanted, so the lovely girl behind the counter let me make my very own sambo-combo combo.. and good god was it sensational. Very cute and friendly place that I visited for lunch today in Dublin. Places that have a good variety of healthy options are never a bad thing in my book as it gives you that moment of feeling pleased with yourself amongst and load of Guinness and fast food guilt while getting involved with the local scene here ;) I had the salad bar option which was a selection of mixed salads and rice dishes served with a range of dressings which came with a cup of pea and mint soup. The salad was the star for me, it was fresh and really flavourful and did not feel at all boring which some salads can suffer from. Shout out to the caesar dressing which seemed home made and really amazing. The prices here seem decent, the vibe is cool a the the staff are smiley and up beat. Oh the amazing smell of good food that hits you when you walk in here is intoxicating. They have lovely healthy food and drinks for sale along there walls including the now trendy Matcha as well as other lovely teas. There salad and sandwich display is so tempting, but that is all too healthy for me, what I come here for is their excellent coffee. Umm, it is good and cheap only 2euro for a good sized to go cup. But it is nearly impossible to resist the sweet tempting goodies they have conveniently placed by the coffee counter. Their scones are some of the best I have tried, and again, I have tried a lot, their apple cinnamon scone is a particular favourite and they have been doing an early morning coffee and scone/cake deal for 3euro. Bargain! This is the best place to pop in for a lovely treat or something a bit more virtuous if you are that way inclined. Super impressed with this place, i never knew a place like this existed in town. The offer a wide variety of milks from soya, skimmed and even almond. I opted for a coconut matcha almond latte.. Wow! This is the perfect place to grab a healthy lunch in clean, minimal surroundings and for reasonable prices! I got the pre-made BLT ciabatta and had it toasted. As far as "BLT" goes it's a bit of a stretch, it's really more of a gammon & greens & relish sandwich, but it was delicious nonetheless! There are nice seats outside when it's sunny and it's nice and cool inside with a few tables and bar seats around. There's also a random selection of teas and essential oils should that take your fancy. The selection of sweets at the counter is hard to resist as someone below mentioned, and I tried some of the lemon drizzle cake. Wow what a lovely little place! And they serve yummy food too:-) I love the blue walls, the tiny tables, the big windows and the cute wooden shelfs filled with delicious treats like teas and chocolates. I had a delicious tomato soup and a big salad. You can chose from the salad bar and simply fill your plate and the salads are really amazing. I also had the spicy chai latte which could have been a bit more spicy but all in all I had a lovely stay and can definitely recommend coming here for a healthy, delicious and easy meal! read more

Stopped by for breakfast. Pretty decent it must be said. Companion had granola which was a serve yourself offering so she pretty much loaded up the plate. Not my thing at all. She also had toast on the side which was sourdough and pretty good. I had the breakfast burrito. Very tasty. Eggs, tomatoes and bacon in a wrap with, natch, smashed avocado on the side. Coffees were disappointing flat whites, largely because they were tepid whilst I like my coffee steaming. Minor quibble to be fair. After doing some online research for affordable breakfast places, we decided to visit Cracked Nut. It was a relatively small, hipster and pleasant little cafe. We were given a jug of cucumber infused water and two glasses upon arrival which was nice. Their menu is fairly simple and their sandwiches are on display by the cashier (which allows you to see what the sandwich is composed of - you can choose to grab the one you see displaced or get the same wrapped sandwich in the refrigerator). They also have free wifi, just ask for the password. I ordered avocado toast with poached eggs (about 8 euro) and added salmon (+ about 2 euro) as well as a latte (about 3.5 euro). The toast was absolutely delicious and I was pleasantly surprised with the amount of smoked salmon they gave me (it didn't look like a lot but it was a good amount). The latte was also very good. After eating we ordered a scone which came with butter and mix berry jam which was scrumptious. We sat there for a while after finishing our food and nobody bothered us to leave - the service was very relaxed. I definitely recommend this place, great for breakfast or even for getting work done while sipping on a delicious cup of coffee. read more

The cracked nut is a goodie near my company's Dublin office. I needed a salad (due to recent extreme cake excesses) so I Yelped it and this cafe came out as a clear winner. I had a small takeaway salad box, I think it was 3.95 euros. As many different salads as you want within your box. I had a variation but the Beetroot and apple sliced salad was good, as was the 'lentil wannabe' ('my own name for what I can only presume were beans of some mysterious type). Really good spot if you're dieting, as nothing is drowning in oil. Good, healthy food with a reasonable price tag and friendly staff. read more

(Sees people cleaning and the place relatively empty) are you still open?' 'Yes' 'OK....can I sit down' 'yes' 'OK. Are you still serving food?' 'No' I decide to just put my stuff down at a table and then go back up to the counter since the place wasn't closing and the back and forth was making my stuff even heavier. I grab my lunch from here at least three times a week! The salad selection is great; not heavy on the meets but they recently introduced a chicken and bacon caeser salad that does the job nicely. Take away salad is a very reasonable 3.99/4.99/5.99 for small/med/large. The sandwiches are already made up and there are some really nice choices - not just your average ham and cheese! One other review speaks of over saturation of places to eat and get coffee and I also feel it has become one big ensemble of places to eat in Dublin. Its mind boggling and how the hell can you choose where to go? However I was brought to The Cracked Nut and so was forced to discover a new place. Very good value salad box to go. At 5.95€ the large salad box is great. Salads are honest and tasty, a natural taste, without piles of salt and sugary dressings. You taste the herbs and salad and so on. The cracked nut should not panic and put up their prices or give less of a portion. It is the market that is all out of kilter. We pay too much for salads, coffee, bread, and food and wine in this country to begin with. So what I found is special about this place is that it is normal, or at least it should be the norm. Friendly service, good food and selection and keenly priced. In a sea of cafes they are bobbing along nicely. read more

Fantastic! I've come here from the United States and had a terrible time finding fresh veges and juices. Was great to break away from the tourist traps and find a place where I could grab a kale salad, unique sandwich and some juice. This review is only for their fresh pressed juice. I got their beetroot and ginger one to go. It was lightly sweet and satisfying. Yum, yum, yum and yum! They're giving the food away here, seriously I felt liked I'd robbed the place leaving-very cheap for this part of town! Attention to detail is everything, and they certainly do that here. I know some people don't particularly like the seating arrangement here with a big table down the end that multiple people sit at, but I think it's kinda cool and sociable. Great atmosphere always with lovely chilled out music. I could sit here all day. Have had breakfast here on a few occasions now, and always amazing. The cinnamon and apple scone is a fave, and you can get it toasted, and it comes served with real butter and homemade jam - nice little touches. Coffee is amazing also, hard to beat it elsewhere, proper strong brew to wake you up in the morning. I have also gotten matcha once or twice, and surprise, surprise it comes with numerous options - soya milk, almond milk, coconut milk, and different flavoured matchas also - the choices here are mind boggling! This place seems fine. There is nothing really special about it though. Camden street keep attracting lovely new businesses but I don't see what this one really adds. This shop is grand but I didn't feel it lived up to it's reputation. The shop is confused and not sure what it is and isn't particularly great at anything, it's a mixture of a cafe, deli, health food shop, grocery shop. If you are in the Camden Street area go across the street to Listons is one of the best delis and specialty grocers in Dublin, Restore is an excellent health food shop, and the Cake Café is an amazing spot for a sit down lunch, or coffee. read more
