Usually I am very disappointed with my local Cracker Barrel but I decided to stop by in my way to NC. We made a pit stop and I enjoyed the service. Our server was Savanna and she was great! She was so friendly and attentive to us. She made our visit a great one! I wasn't sure what to get so she recommended a meal based on what I was craving and it was spot on. I had three biscuits , scrambled eggs, bacon and cheesy hash browns. I don't know the name of the meal she personalized for me but it was amazing. The biscuits were nice and hot, the eggs I wish were more fluffy but they were also hot when they came to the table. The bacon was crispy and lastly the had browns were just seasoned perfectly. My bf and dad got the grandma's special and they loved it . The French toast was soft and buttery and the pancakes which are my favorite out of any breakfast establishment was cooked perfectly. Everything came out within 15 minutes and I was pleasantly surprised since I am always let down by their quality. We came in on a Wednesday at 9am and the restaurant was fairly empty. Came here last night for dinner and had the Thursday special of Turkey and stuffing. They were out of many sides so she gave me a free salad. This place is only as good as its servers basically. Went back this morning since I'm at the hotel next door. I was looking forward to the new Baked Apple French toast but I was very disappointed. First it seemed to take forever to get our breakfast and someone besides our waitress brought it out. The French toast was dry and Tasteless. I told our waitress and she offered more syrup. I was staying at the hotel across the street and my friends and I were looking for a quick place to have lunch. Cracker Barrel was right across the street and seemed like a good pick. We have recently been avoiding Cracker Barrel because we have been so disappointed. It used to be one of our favorite breakfast spots. We decided to try the one located in Lake City,FL. Well I have to say we were so impressed. It felt like the old Cracker Barrel is back. The food was perfect! The Pancakes had those amazing crispy edges, and everything was fresh and hot. All staff was friendly. Alyssa (I think she spells her name differently) was our server and she was good. The blueberry pancakes were good. The bacon was under cooked, no hash brown casserole and no blue berry syrup. Offered us diced potatoes instead of the hash brown casserole and they were greasy and undercooked. Sunday afternoon, expect crowds. Service was chaotic with orders coming out wrong and the food incorrectly prepared. Server didn't check on our table of six often enough and we had to flag down other staff to get refills, etc. The kicker was finding a clear plastic lid from a to-go container tucked into the bottom of my glass of ice water which I had been drinking from all through lunch. Food overall is delicious. My only complaint is that the side dishes were not even warm but the entrees were. In my opinion the serving sizes got smaller. The roast beef platter that's supposed to be like "pot roast" was just two pieces of beef covered with a bit of gravy. The beef stew had no meat in it but did after we got a fresh order. We stopped by this Cracker Barrel and had dinner here. We weren't really hungry but decided to have breakfast for dinner. The food is good, nothing fancy, just plain good food. Service was friendly and we were served within a reasonable amount of time. Sugar free pancake syrup is available when you ask for it. The manager visited our table to be sure our visit was satisfactory. The bathroom was maintained and clean. I love going to Cracker Barrel and walking through their country store, always something cutesy to want to take home. /we stopped here on the way to Pensacola. We were served right away, however some of the other customers were a bit rude. But the meal took quite a bit to come out, and just as another reviewer noted the side dishes were cold. I received no more than what I asked for, however when I ordered the same thing (exactly) at the Crestview location, no only was the presentation better, but there was a side cup of coleslaw on the plate, which was a part of the description when I referred back to the menu. I'm embarrassed to say that somehow we ended up stopping here twice on the same road trip-- once going to Orlando and again on the return. No excuses really, I'd seen the reviews (which spoke of the same things we experienced) and we were totally forwarned. The only thing I can say is that this location was convenient for our travel schedule. Shame on me and shame on Cracker Barrel! Both times, the service was severely lacking. Like, we sat at the table for over 5 minutes before anyone came to greet us lacking. Both times! Our first server said she was busy "on the phone", the next server offered up no explanations (not sure which is worse.) When our first server was actually AT our table, she was just fine. Our second server seemed annoyed to be waiting on us. When we were seated under a fan and asked for it to be lowered so our food wouldn't get cold, her response seemed as though we were asking to move mountains! Food was fine, nothing more nothing less. Still so disappointing as CB is usually pretty consistent in all regards. And from the reviews, it really does sound like a managerial and/or employee issue. Corporate, I'm taking to you! read more

Have you ever had one of those days where you wish you could have made a series of completely different decisions? Well going to Cracker Barrel in Lake City was one of those. Their kitchen must have been having a bad day because I could see in the eyes of most of the servers that they were frustrated at the pace of things. For us, we had been driving for a pretty long time and were tired. Cracker Barrel is usually a safe bet so we chose it to grab a nice "safe" meal. When we got there the wait was reasonable to get a table but once we got to a table each stage of the meal had a longer and longer wait. One person in our group got the chicken and noodles which turned out ok. The rest was not so good. I got the special of the day which was cornmeal breaded catfish. It was very dark in color like old street bricks after decades of traffic. The inside of the fish finger had some white but blobs of grey and this brownish color that (for me) is not normal and didn't seem right. The coleslaw was good and ended up being most of my caloric intake followed by the cornbread. You may ask, why didn't I send it back? We had a timeline and I just didn't want to wait. I would not blame my server or the servers I saw running the show. They were hustling when things became available. Watching other tables, I am certain that we were not an isolated case since everyone looked frustrated. There was one tall slim female server who should be a be part of Cirque du Soleil based on her ability to carry un-imaginable amounts of items from the kitchen out to the waiting tables. I just hope that we were there on an off day. Cracker Barrel is a good company but this was just not a good experience. read more

We stopped by here for lunch on New Year's Day and was pleasantly surprised after some of the negative reviews. All our orders came out hot and just as we requested. We ordered the breakfast sampler (again) and pancakes. Both dishes were great, but the pancakes were excellent. Light and fluffy and lots of flavor ! Our waitress, Ms June is the best. Ummmm..... Southern restaurant that stops serving sweet pickles, that's so confusing! They've taken the grilled chicken tenderloin sandwich off of the menu. I guess because they stopped serving sweet pickles, who knew...what's up with that! So yes I did get up and leave. This is the worst Cracker Barrel that I have ever been to. The hostess was sitting guest in a manner and location in the restaurant that would make you feel unwelcome and secluded. The sampler that I ordered was piled all together on one plate. The fried okra was soggy due to being placed next to the green beans. The dumplings were piled directly on top of the country ham which tasted like pure salt. And the meatloaf was undercooked and cold. Might be the worst Cracker Barrel I've ever visited. At least half a dozen tables were left dirty for 20-30 minutes. The bathroom was a mess. Took 40 minutes to get our food and when it arrived, it was awful. My wife got a chef salad and it came with an egg I can't even describe. The waitress tried to tell us it was a deviled egg (not what comes on a chef salad) but the yolk mixture was oozing out of the egg. My daughter's fried shrimp meal had 3 shrimp, one shrimp tail, a piece of chicken and what I'm guessing is a hush puppy. Never again read more

On my last trip through Lake City FL following a football game in Jacksonville, a friend and I stopped in the Cracker Barrel restaurant for dinner. The next morning I realized that I had misplaced my car keys somewhere between his house in The Villages and Jacksonville FL. either going to or returning. Since he was driving I did not notice until the next morning. After several anxious moments and calls to the stadium management my wife and I returned to our home in Atlanta (using her keys). My friend's wife asked if I had checked with the Cracker Barrel. I had not so I called and after describing the set to first the hostess and then to the manager my keys were sent back to me! At Cracker Barrels all over the food is good and the service is great but the professional treatment from Ms. Williams and Ms. Christy made a trip to Florida one I won't soon forget and I will remain a Cracker Barrel customer for a long time! read more

Our waitress was so rude and acted like we were just the biggest bother to her, and then while standing in line to pay the woman who's line we were in called person after person who had gotten there after us and just kept telling us to wait. Just returned from this restaurant and could not wait to post this review. This is the worst Cracker Barrel I have ever visited anywhere. Ordered the Southern trout and 1) was informed that they did not yet have the brown rice pilaf available even though it was after 5 p.m. 2) received only one piece of trout instead of the two advertised on the menu 3) did not receive the corn relish on the dish as stated on the menu 4) our dining partners were told that there were no chilled glassware available for their root beers 5) both the mens and womens bathrooms were dirty with used paper towels overflowing the trash containers. I have dined at many other Cracker Barrels in the past and never experienced these kinds of problems. This location obviously needs a major management change. If there was a zero star rating available I would have easily clicked it. I feel sorry for the servers because they were trying their best and, unfortunately, will bear the brunt of these problems through lower tips. read more
