I haven't been to a Chili's in quite some time and I figured it's a national chain, it should be decent and consistent and my memory was that it was pretty good. This location appears to be fairly new, it's clean and fairly comfortable. Service was really good and everyone was friendly and accommodating. The rice is probably the worst rice I have ever had set before me. It crunched and was greasy. How and why would the rice have oil all in it. Just nasty. The chicken for the fajita was probably boiled, then sliced and placed on the hot cast iron to get that sizzle as it comes to the table. Salt is apparently the spice of choice but if it weren't for the onions there would be little to no flavor. The chips were also greasy. The salsa was like a tomato soup. Not worth it at all. I'm traveling from Orlando back to Atlanta l. I preordered a meal for my family and I been waiting here for over an extra 30 minutes for a kids meal. I preordered because I needed to pick up food otw back to the highway. They are so unbelievably unaccommodating. They haven't told me how long it would take. I ask and they just walk away. Ashley was my server and was warm, friendly, and attentive to details (light ice and extra lemon for my tea and food allergy). I had the new smasher burger and it was the best burger I've had in a long time -- not overcooked, well seasoned, and not too much bun - the meat patty was the same size as the bun. I'm not a pickle fan but whatever pickles were on it are just perfect. It was also a comfortable temperature and the restroom was clean and well serviced. Me and my family came in weeks ago and sat in lounge. After waiting 7 - 10 minutes our server who was Vanessa finally showed up. As she stepped up to table the smell of weed was so strong that my wife started coughing right away. Not only was the smell so strong but Vanessa was so high that her eyes kept closing as she asked for our drinks. We almost got up and left but our kids wanted chilis so we stayed. We seldom eat out since the COVID19 pandemic, but we dined today at Chili's because we had received a gift card for Christmas. We both ordered the Guiltless Grill Ancho Salmon with broccoli and black beans. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the dish. The broccoli was perfectly steamed--tender but not over cooked. The black beans and the salmon were garnished with fresh cilantro, onions, and jalapeño peppers. The perfectly cooked Atlantic salmon also had a light yet flavorful ancho chili glaze. All were delicious! The wait staff was attentive without hovering, and our iced tea glasses were refilled before we needed to ask. I know we'll be back! The only reason this restaurant gets a second star is because Stephanie the bartender is awesome. Everything else about this needs work. The host/hostess station is hardly ever manned. You walk in, and if there's no room at the bar you wait until three or four employees walk by you and one of them finally takes pity on you to get you a table. Today, I was offered a seat at a table that had roughly three kids meals worth of food under it and greasy stains on the tabletop as if it had been dry-wiped and not sanitized. When I asked if there was a clean place to sit, the waitress snarling stated that they had just finished a lunch shift (at 4:30in the afternoon). I left and will not be back until something changes. If the waitstaff doesn't clean during shifts, I don't want to know what the kitchen looks like. read more

I have served in the military for 15 years as an Active Duty Marine and have deployed to multiple countries to continue to provide the freedom that you all enjoy. Never did I once got to choose which mission I executed it, yet when I asked for what I believe to be my well deserved military discount, the manager decided that my discount should be itemized and only discounts 10% of one meal. First of all, that's very petty and in lake City,FL where military population it's not very high. Second of all, I guess when the wolves come to our front, I'll save one person at Chili's and let everyone else die. Finally, if you think that my family is not the main reason u do what I do everyday, you are very naive about what it takes to continue to be active duty, I guess they don't get a discount. I stopped here for dinner as their lunch staff is on point. But at dinner time it is so bad and the manager is the worst. I arrived around 6 pm and was seated pretty quickly. I was having dinner with my mom to go over the holiday menu and Christmas activities as with COVID we were making changes. We sat there for 15 minutes before our waitress even knowledge us. When she finally arrived we placed our order. We ordered chips and salsa for an appetizer. Then we got drinks, a side salad and an order of crispers each. Very simple. Our order was the same except for different dressing. Nothing fancy or complex. waitress left. We didn't see her for another 15 minutes when she finally returned with our drinks. Then she disappeared again. We sat there for 30 minutes when finally the manager brought my mom's side salad. We asked where our chips were and where my salad was. He said the kitchen was behind and disappeared. Finally, another waitress brought our food. Which was cold. I however still had no salad and we still never received our chips. After taking a few bites and realizing our entire meal was cold then-manager arrived with our chips. I mention our food was cold and I still didn't have my salad He once again blamed the kitchen and left. Finally, as the food was cold and not worth eating when our waitress finally came back 45 minutes later I had her bag it all up to take home to warm in the microwave. She disappeared to get to-go boxes which took her 15 minutes. The worst part is I was able to see our waitress being very attentive to a group of men and the manager helping everyone else but ignoring us. I can't believe I paid for food I couldn't eat and for a salad I never got. It was horrible I'll never go back for dinner. It's not worth it. I'll stick to lunchtime. read more

I do not like giving negative reviews as saying harsh things is not a pleasant thing. However this experience was quite poor. Called an order in for pick up and was told it would be 25 minutes. A family went to pick it up 30 minutes after I placed it. It was not ready. It took well over an hour, and the food was cold. They would not give updates to my family member. I called and got put on hold. Twice. And they never picked up the phone again. Tried one last time, and they informed me the food was picked up. The few times I spoke to anyone, I was not given any update, explanation, or offer to help in anyway. Before I could even ask questions, I was put on hold. Things happen from time to time, and good customer service means speaking to your customers and making things right. None of that occurred here and from the number of people that were waiting on food and the comments they made, they had the same experience. Hopefully they make some changes and fix this issue. read more

This review is based off our second trip to the new location, as it was very obvious they were still getting it together the first time. We went for lunch on a Monday and our server was Brenda. The service was 5 star, she was attentive without being overwhelming, kept our glasses full as well as stopped by plenty of times to grab whatever else we needed through out the meal. The food was on par with any other chili's we've been to, came out temperature appropriate and within a reasonable about of time. Oh and the skillet cookie was extra delicious. read more

my husband and I decided to stop in and have lunch at this Chili's in Lake City, FL. we arrived at 12:20pm and they weren't busy at all, went in and hostess was seating us and we asked if we could please have a booth, PLENTY of empty booths, and was told "no that waitress has been swamped all day", mind they had only been open for an hour and twenty minutes and it was no where near busy when we arrived so we sat at a table in the middle of the restaurant. our waitress came and took our drink order and got them right to us and we placed our order with her then. so by 12:30pm our order was placed, as we waited we watched people come in right after us and immediately get seated in a booth where we had asked to be seated, while there are still plenty of open tables around the restaurant. Now here we are at 1pm and still no food or waitress and notice a family of 6 that came in 20 minutes after we placed our order was receiving their food, but we waited still, finally at 1:20pm after being there for an hour and only given our drinks, that was enough so I flagged down the manager and explained to get our check for our drinks and canceled our order and exactly why we were leaving. she apologized and left and when she returned tried to tell us that the family of 6 had gotten their food already because they had 4 kids meals, WHAT??, and that our meals would only be a few more minutes. let her know don't bother that for us to wait over an hour for our food while other patrons who arrived 20-30 minutes after we placed our order were receiving their food is completely unacceptable and we are leaving. We left and went to a restaurant right down the street (T.R.H.) and as always received the best customer service and food. For the length of time we spent waiting for food we never received (1 hour), we were able to order, eat and sit for a bit. WILL NOT BE BACK. read more

So this is a new chili's in lake city and it has been open for approximately a month in a half, and I have to say I was very happy with there service and food. I order stuff chicken fingers and my husband ordered a chicken sandwich with some fries. Now my meal was cooked to the right crisp and it had this very unique blend of seasonings that didn't make it any ordinary chicken fingers so it was very good and of course who doesn't love all those toppings that comes with it!! it was a very good choice and I didn't even get to eat it all so my kiddos got to try some as well :-) now my husbands meal he said his chicken was very well cooked and it was pretty juicy and he is not picky but precise eater so the fact that it made him happy I was all for it. We did order an appetizer which was really just cheese dip and chips but let me tell you something, I could have just ate that and been happy all by myself LOL it was the best cheese dip I have ever had WOW!!! and they put a nice amount of guac on top to give it that tacoish taste that we love just amazing! I will definitely come back to this place and try out there other selections. Now there service was also very good the lady that helped me (Kate) she was very sweet and busy as a bee so yes there New and I didn't have to wait at all but some people did complain about the wait in other reviews and honestly give this place a shot there New and there still hiring so don't knock the business and the hard rock the chefs did over lack of servers. Had a gift card for here, so I went with my fiancé and daughter. In short, I'm glad we had a gift card because I would have been upset if I had to spend my money on this food. I figured you can't really go wrong with Chili's, but the food was cold (all three meals), and just did not taste good. I got the cilantro shrimp tacos and being that the tacos were hard to choke down because they were cold, I tried eating the rice and beans but those were equally awful. It was a Friday night so it was busy, and of course there were obnoxious drunk people at the bar, for which I do not blame the facility. However, the music was so loud on top of that that we couldn't speak the entire time because we couldn't hear each other. Other than that, the waitress was attentive and kind, as well as the hostess. Well, i had a reward for free queso here (i'm vegetarian & very well told them) & well surprise i got pieces of bacon in it! the customer service was terrible. the waitress that put the bacon in it decided to switch out after we complained about the bacon. either way this is a very low run facility. i really do wish applebee's was back in this location. they atleast had appropriate service & would never try to tell me something is vegetarian when it is certainly not. better luck next time read more

I've eaten at this chili's in the past and the waitresses are nothing but lovely, however you do NOT want to be put on the phone with the manager. I'm not sure who was on duty tonight but this man did not know how to deal with fast nights. My friend tried to schedule an interview with them and call to change the times. Right after she got hung up on the first time she was put on the phone with the manager who rudely said "honey we're busy right now I can't talk to you, your gonna have to call back tomorrow" which my first thought is why did he have to call her honey and say this in such a quick rude aggressive way then to just hang up on her??? I don't believe anyone should be talked down to like they're a Child on the other end of the line. This was very displeasing, I'm not sure but I think they need someone who can deal with people asking a simple question or at least politely say they can't talk at the moment. After this small interaction I would have rather them not answered the phone and she no longer has interest and does not recommend anyone applying. After such a short conversation I can only imagine what the workers deal with. read more

I wouldn't go back here if they were giving away free appetizers! I called ahead was told they were on a 15-20 min wait (this is on a Tuesday at 2000 but nevertheless I diverse) I arrived at the 20 min mark and was told it would be an additional 25 minutes because the kitchen was backed up but 5 booths were empty. Mind you 10-15 other patrons blocked the front door, I would speculate they were having the same dilemma. I left and called the manager to address the issue in hopes of salvaging my first lake city chili's experience. When the manager was confronted with the question concerning the absurd wait time she stated "the kitchen was backed up and she would rather have people standing at the door instead of seated and not being served" when i informed her that this was ridiculous and asked why she would not at least seat people to avoid frustration, that I would be contacting corporate, and that leaving people standing by the door made no sense she said it made sense to her and corporate left the day prior. In hindsight due to the poor customer service and overall bad attitude of the manager who I'm pretty sure doesn't love Jesus, is a racist, and voted for trump! I would not go back to that chili's if Jesus Christ himself was on the grill with Guy Fieri handing out free tickets to flavor town on the back of a bald eagle! read more

I went to this newly opened location for lunch on September 3, 2019, with my 86-year old mother. I (normally) love Chili's...great food, great service are the norm at one of these restaurants however, this Chili's was very, very disappointing. We were shown to a table that had not been wiped down very well. I asked the host if he could find me a towel to clean the table...he came back and halfway cleaned the table. I then asked our server if she could please bring us a couple of extra napkins to dry the now sloppily cleaned wet table. She brought us one single-ply napkin and placed it on the table for me to dry it myself. Um...okay...I can handle that. For lunch, I ordered the Southwestern Eggrolls and my mother ordered the Bacon Ranch Chicken Quesadilla with a cup of loaded potato soup. My mother's soup arrived nice & hot...she commented on how good it was (hence, the 1-star rating)...her quesadilla was "okay." My eggrolls were over-cooked and lukewarm. Before we even tasted our food, the server asked us if we were paying cash or credit card. I told her we weren't sure yet and would decide AFTER we finished our meal. Bottom line...this franchise location needs to spend a lot more time training the staff on proper etiquette, service techniques and food quality. My husband and I decided to go Chili's for lunch! We were so excited. It was expected to have a 20-30 minute wait. No problem. We just went to the bar to get a drink. Got to the bar, waited 15 minutes and 2 bartenders didn't acknowledge us...not even with a napkin. The bar was dirty. Finally, after 21 minutes, one of the bartenders decided to come take our order. I ordered first with pineapple frozen margarita which was 2 for 1. My husband ordered Big Eddy Eddy Texas Lemonade. We had to repeat our order 6 times. No joke! By then, our table was ready. We just said forget it and walked away to get our table. Then, our server Nathan saved the day! We got our drinks finally with no problem Told Nathan bartenders were incompetent and he agreed. He took our order and we got our food quickly which was impressive since they were extremely busy. Burgers we ordered were huge. The actual burger was tasty. But, I asked my for my Boss burger well well done and it was still pink inside. My husband ordered the brisket burger in which the brisket was grisly and couldn't eat it that part. We ordered the spinach queso that didn't look like the photo...not even close. But, we were hungry. Overall, the experience we gave a -0 stars. Nathan gave it a 1 star with his amazing service.
