First off I would like to say we had a wholesome experience being at this location. After traveling on the road we wanted to stop and get something we haven't had in a while and so enters Cracker Barrel. My waiter Kobe was just pleasantly amazing!! She made sure we had what we needed and gave great suggestions. They are lucky to have her as we all know great service and attention to detail is hard to come by these days! There was plenty of space as well as very clean. I ordered my go to secret meal of country fried steak with saw mill gravy on a toasted bun with mayo, cheese, lettuce and tomato!! Trust me!! Yummy!! I had a side of fried okra and Mac and cheese. For dessert and had the s'mores brownie with cookie crumble's marshmallows fudge brownie topped with vanilla ice cream!! I'll give it a 3 because they are no complaints on the food...per se. I think our server was brand new, very talkative. We never received silverware, we had to go request from up front. I ordered the steak tips, but received sausage and bacon. It took another 10 minutes for the order to be corrected, so I worked on my grits and apples. She only stopped by the table twice with coffee. Then my husband was unable to cut his pancakes because they were so...chewy? The ends were well done and even with syrup on top, he spent more time trying to get a bite than actually eating. A very bizarre experience. Do Not Go Here! Stopped at the hotel and ordered fried shrimp to go as it was super close to the hotel. They said it would be ready at 7:39 at 8:12 they said they were bagging it up. The ambiance is typically the same. Very cozy, country vibes. It can get loud. I'd say the average customer is a family with small children or an older couple. I love the shopping part because while you wait for a table, you can see all the holiday decor, clothes, kids toys, skincare, etc.. I loved my waitress. She was so attentive and had a bright personality. The iced s'mores latte came without graham cracker shavings which I didn't even realize. She brought some out on the side in a small cup which was very thoughtful. Momma's pancake breakfast comes with 3 pancakes, 2 eggs cooked however you like, and a choice between sausage and bacon. I wish the pancakes were cooked a tad longer. They were inconsistent. Some were tanner than others and not as crispy on the sides. I did love how the maple syrups were hot and in glass containers. The sausage patties were dry in my opinion. The iced s'mores latte was diluted. I was hoping to get a little sugar rush from it but again, it wasn't as strong. Overall, I love Cracker Barrel. For the second time, my DoorDash order from the Cracker Barrel location at 1440 Handlir Drive, Bel Air, MD 21015 was incomplete. More than 70% of the items were missing from a $78.00 order. What is especially concerning is that the receipt clearly contains a "Quality Checked By" section, yet it was left blank before the order was handed to the DoorDash driver as supposedly complete. This demonstrates a serious lack of quality control and attention to detail. When I called the restaurant to speak with the General Manager, Jace Mullins, the interaction only made the situation worse. I had already explained the issue to two employees, one of whom identified themselves as an Associate Manager, yet Mr. Mullins required me to repeat the issue a third time. Throughout the conversation, he repeatedly interrupted me while I was attempting to explain the problem. Initially, he offered to refund the order, but once I explained that the order had been placed through DoorDash, he immediately changed course. When I asked why he would offer a refund before confirming whether he had the authority to process it, he became defensive and dismissive. Rather than taking accountability, he attempted to place blame on the DoorDash driver, despite the fact that the order was provided to the driver as complete by the restaurant staff. This is now the second incomplete order I have received from this Cracker Barrel location. If the team is unable to properly fulfill DoorDash orders, then the restaurant should reconsider accepting them altogether until staff are properly trained. The location's quality control procedures are clearly failing, and the level of customer service I experienced from management was unacceptable. read more

Really didn't enjoy this place at all. I have been to Cracker Barrel many times but haven't been in a few years and this place really missed the mark. I don't know if it's been taken over by corporate to make things cheaper, but it definitely seems as such. The sausage gravy was thin, not much sausage and pretty tasteless. My overseas eggs were fine, but that was really it. The sausage was very strange. My wife, daughter, and I were traveling north on 95 on a Friday morning and stopped in for breakfast. The restaurant is conveniently located close to the off-ramp. Parking in front is limited, but many spots are in the back. After wandering through the store, we were promptly seated but ignored for almost ten minutes before a server finally arrived to take our drink order. Our drinks were served promptly, but we never saw that server or any other server again. My wife went to the kitchen to check on our order after 30 minutes passed. Our food arrived shortly after the kitchen visit, with mixed results. Most of the food was cold, and the toast hadn't even turn the slightest brown. The bacon I had requested to be floppy was the highlight for me. My scrambled eggs were okay, but the hash browns needed more cooking. My wife's grits were very runny, and her eggs were cold. Waitress Ashley refused to serve black people in her section at the Belair, Md location and it was acceptable by the management team. SMH There were two black families and she only served the white families. I asked her if she knew she had my table and she said 'Yes'. Both tables were given other waitresses. This is 2026 not 1926. Above average service and quality food most times. My son and I visited this rainy morning, and our yum food brought the sunshine !! I arrived at the cracker barrel on 1440 handlir street in high spirits this sunday evening. however, with no warning whatsoever, i was served the most horrendous meal of my young life. Before I delve into the the food quality I would like to note that our server Erika was the single saving grace of the establishment, had it not been for her I would have demoted my rating to a 0. Shes perfect. My destain began when I accidentally ordered sides from the premium menu, a mistake I blame on the lack of indication that these items come with an extra charge of $2.69. Unfortunately my troubles didnt end here, in fact they were just beginning. When my food arrived I felt a deep anxiety. I didnt know what to make of the mess that arrived in front of me. Erika noted that the chefs were "doing what they wanted" and apologized for a few small mistakes with our food, this was the last moment of normalcy before it all got bad. I ordered the nashville hot chicken, and while the portion was seemingly significant the actual substance of the meal was incredibly sub par. The chicken (that was mostly bones and fat) coupled with the scent of the surf and turf, and the sight of the chicken fried steak created an inescapable nauseating atmosphere. I did not order the chicken fried steak, however I tried it and I can say without hesitation that it is a violation of nature. My heart breaks for the cow that gave its life for that atrocity. Among the "premium" sides one stands out in particular. The chicken noodle soup looked like clam chowder with soggy french fries inside, it did not taste any better than it looked and had a strange aftertaste that I can only describe as unholy. I received the check and went to the front to pay. The cashier, possibly noticing my eyes swimming with despair, asked how my meal was. A place to bring the whole family with family sized portions. The sampler I got was absolutely huge the fried chicken was great, chicken and dumplings tasted like my grandma made them. The ribs were fall off the bone tender and I still had plenty of food to take home. The biscuits were straight fire paired with the butter and jelly, but wonderful all on their own. Mimosas packed quite a punch and the salad was loaded. Our server was fast and attentive juggling multiple tables all while making sure we were set for our meal. We were sat immediately on a rainy Sunday evening driving home, and it was a welcome meal from the raging thunderstorm outside. The food came out as we had ordered it, very hot and fresh, and delicious as always. What made this experience a 5-star one was the service. Our server was really friendly with us the entire time, and he was spot on with refills and biscuits. He checked on us frequently and really seemed to care about our overall experience. I just wish I remembered his name to give him credit for his efforts. The store was full of kitschy doohickies as always, and the rest of the experience was pretty much par for the course. Consistent and predictable. Just what you want for breakfast, when traveling or just have some time to kill. Coffee refilled continuously (and with a smile) Grits are good any time of day. They are introducing new pancake and other options. Nice thing about sitting down and doing these reviews is realizing that Cracker Barrel is better than I give them credit for. I got the Friday fish special, fried white fish strips with two sides. I got turnip greens and grits. The food comes out pretty bland but tastes better with butter, salt, and pepper. It was about $15. Service was good and our server was ontop of drinks which was nice. This restaurant is always overstimulating though. Small walk areas in the store front and way to crowded or busy so you have to dodge people constantly. The back dining area echos and makes everyone else seem loud around you. read more

I ordered my son the children's burgers which came out really pink. They did remake when we brought it to their attention, but it was a very long wait to have our server come by before we could even report it. My husband and I were done with our food before it even came out. I can't eat bacon and asked for no bacon on my salad and baked potato. After hearing all the controversy around CB we decided to check it out for ourselves. Had a solid breakfast at a reasonable price. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Restaurant was clean , service was prompt. Although we are not really country style people, we actually enjoyed the decor and country vibe of the establishment. It's a good option if you want a big breakfast in the COVID environment when hotels aren't serving much or are charging for "free" breakfast. It's a better option if you are on travel and need to find a place that opens before 7am so you can eat and make your meeting on time. Came here shortly after it opened on a weekday and was like the second person in. Service was fast. Food was great. Waitress was great. Obviously if you are coming in during a rush, your experience won't be the same. I should probably warn you that we got a flat tire as we took exit 80 off I95 and sat on the shoulder of the exit (seriously 300 feet from the restaurant) for two hours waiting for AAA to show up because there wasn't a jack in our hand-me-down van, AND some shyster tried to pretend he worked for AAA to get us to pay him $100... and I was terrified the entire time because motorists coming off the highway at 80mph had no idea that we were there because we also didn't have flares... so we were completely frazzled by the time we arrived at the restaurant... And, is it just me but does the watermelon lemonade taste like pickle juice? I mean, it was super tart and refreshing after having spent all that time trapped in our van, but after the first couple of gulps I kept thinking to myself, "I don't actually want to finish this." But hydration is important, people!! I had the 4 piece fried chicken (perfectly crispy. I could have eaten two chickens worth) with turnip greens (not so good - the ham pieces weren't as tender and sweet as I expected, and there was no pot liquor), and dumplings, with the premium loaded sweet potato as a add on side. That sweet potato though. Oh wow - butter, brown sugar, marshmallow fluff and pecans. Like a dessert and so satisfying for my frayed nerves. The Boyfriend had some kind of cheeseburger that was severely undercooked, but he didn't notice. I was surprised he finished it, it was so pink, but again none of us was actually thinking straight and we didn't have the energy to do anything but eat out of muscle memory. My mom had some hashbrown casserole with over easy eggs and bacon and she ate the whole thing, which is saying a lot for her skinny @ss, so thumbs up for that. Oh yeah, there were also biscuits, corn muffins and jams but they arrived at our table with our meal so none of us ate them. For reasons my mom had $50 worth of gift cards that she had been given for Christmases even though no one in our family has ever been to a Cracker Barrel and we had to travel to a different county to find one, so (not including tip) our meal cost 17 cents... plus a jack, two tires and a rim. Sigh. I know my mom liked the whole country bumpkin atmosphere and store, but we'll never need to go to another Cracker Barrel. It was a once-in-a-lifetime adventure (boy, was it!) that will be spoken of for ages but not because of the food. We had a party of eleven and sat within 10 minutes.... Our waitress Jay was super thru out the night. She was very attentive and helpful. It took awhile to get food due to only two cooks. My food was cold and when I mentioned it - Jay got me fresh hot food within a few minutes. Everything tasted great as always. When we left to pay - the registers kept messing up and wouldn't accept our gift card. The manager took care of everything. We will definitely be going back.
