To begin - I ordered everything for Take Away My first order was the Gouda Soup and Fish n'chips. The soup was my favorite with a roasted red pepper base, like a bisque. The lump crab meat was quite substantial and equally sweet. Lovely! The fish n chips were good, probably better at the bar top as they were side in my take away container. Either way, no complaints! My second order was the Seafood Chowder, Irish rolls, and Paddy Melt. I'm a sucker for a Patty Melt and excited about the Irish Cheddar, but it was minimal, almost overlooked. A larger melt would have tasted heavenly. I added lettuce and tomato to my sandwich, but my container only had one slice for my two halves and it was the end piece of the tomato (intact). It was quite large, but again, in a container, very soft by the time I ate it. The seafood chowder was good, one of the better chowders I have eaten in MD. The Irish rolls were quite filling and I had to save 2 of the 4 for later. One of these days I'll sit at the bar top with a Guinness for the full experience. read more

This was one of the most disappointing bar experiences I've had. The drinks were poorly made, and the service was outright unacceptable. Dylan's behavior was unprofessional and reflected badly on the establishment as a whole. The attitude and lack of care made customers feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. I would strongly recommend going elsewhere especially because there are plenty of better options steps away. I won't be returning. read more

Went to Sean Bolan's for a work function on a Wednesday night! We had a large group (12-16 people) so we had made a reservation ahead of time for Their private room on the second floor. It definitely has a lively Irish bar ambiance, it wasn't crazy crowded, considering it's a Wednesday but I've heard it definitely gets busy on weekends. They have a large screen in the private room, they allowed us to put on what we wanted. On the first floor, the bar area is slightly small but they have more room in the back. We ordered multiple appetizers for the group, we tried lamb chops, Irish egg roll, loaded tots, old bay and Cajun wings, crab dip. The wings and lamb chops are a must try from apps. They had a steak with veggies and scallop Alfredo special on the menu. Scallops were cooked to perfection, and I thought the Alfredo would be too heavy but it was actually well balanced and easy to eat. My coworker got the steak and they said it was so soft and cooked to their liking. Most of us got all the different kinds of crushes, I got the Jamison Irish crush, which was refreshing, if you're the type of person that does not like the taste of alcohol, this is a great drink, if you want to feel like you're drinking alcohol, this is not your drink. I was able to find street parking, free after 5pm. On weekends, the near by garage would be your best bet. Overall, I'm very pleased that this placed served very good food for a bar! A while back my family and I came to have dinner. We got seated in the back. We sat for about 20 minutes with no attendance from the wait staff and finally got frustrated and walked out. Not one waiter came to us and asked if we wanted a drink or anything. Mind you it was not busy whatsoever. As we walked out, a worker stated that if we sat down someone would see us. After 20 minutes at a dead restaurant and not being seen, was not worth it. read more

Was there last night. Food is always good. we had 4 peeps and service was good. Food was good. But they walk over to table and stand there while you give them a tip on the little (screw the customer) machine. The bill wasn't small and I like to take my time filling out the tip and checking my bill. Not here. Sooooo based on just that I won't be back for a long while. Plenty of places I can eat and tip at my leisure and I'm usually more than generous. Oh well. You push me, I'm Pushing back and won't be back. Food is good though. read more

Popped in for a quick drink with a group of 4. Our server Kelsey was so nice and attentive. A simple drink did the job might pop back in and wet my whistle and maybe enjoy the balcony upstairs. Cute little place that seems very family oriented so bring the kids! read more

This was one of our stops while bar hopping throughout Main St. Bel Air. This is the first time I've ever dined at this pub and I wasn't disappointed. Customer service was great, very friendly staff. The downstairs bar had a decent crowd, but we chose to dine upstairs where it was quiet and we were sat immediately. Pub was very clean. Floors were a bit sticky, but not too bad. Irish pub music wasn't too loud, we could easily communicate with each other. Lighting is a bit too dim for my liking and every so often the lights would flicker ever so slightly. Food portions are huge (except for the $11 bowl of Irish Stew). The Irish Stew was good, but needed just a touch more of salt. Although it was good it wasn't worth $11 for the bowl. With 23 out of 25 stars I give this place an A- rating. I will return again to try the Fish & Chips and the Irish Seafood Chowder. read more

Another great Irish pub in downtown Bel Air. The food is good and they keep the drinks flowing. Great service and a very Irish ambiance. The stuffed cabbage rolls are great! Fabulous food, I've been here a few times and I've never had a meal that I didn't thoroughly enjoy. I wouldn't say it's the most authentic Irish food, but we do live in Maryland and we love our crabs. Average dive bar in the heart of Belair. Has all the cliche "Irish" stuff you'd expect in an Irish themed bar. The food is excellent. Never had an item I didn't like. Had my wings come out raw once. I wasn't happy about that. They have a great selection of beers as well. Although you may wait forever for a bar tender to help you. Unfortunately it's also the place to go if you have a fake I.D....so not an ideal if you don't like drinking with minors. read more

One of our favorite things to do is try new places. I love to cook, so finding a place that we enjoy as much as my cooking is tough. To say the bar is high is an understatement. With that being said, Sean Bolan's hurtled that bar with ease. The food was outstanding. The presentation was on point. The friendly atmosphere made our experience enjoyable. Alex, Our waitress, never let us see the bottom of our glass. She was very forthcoming with items we should try on the menu and had a very endearing personality. Stopped in for dinner on Saturday. We no longer live close so it has been a few years. The food was quite good. My daughter chose the chicken tenders and the honey old bay wings. The wings were some of the best I've had in a while. They were meaty, crispy, and the sauce was fantastic. We also chose a soft pretzel. It was nothing special. It was decent, but i would have liked some beer cheese to go with it. I went with the sheppards pie for dinner. It was a nice portion. It was not very rich. The vegetables were nicely cooked. The mashed potatoes didn't hide anything and it was a good portion of proteins. My wife went with the quesadilla.... at an Irish place! She enjoyed it. She brought leftovers home and finished them the following day. It had veggies and cheese on it. She would definitely get it again. Finally- my other daughter had the grilled cheese off the kids menu. It was nice bread, thick cheese, and toasted just right. She ate the entire sandwich and the pub fries that came with it. Our server was great. She was nice, gave good recommendations, and helped me talk my daughter out of the lamb chops and into chicken tenders. It is always nice when the staff doesn't upsell to increase their tip. The restaurant hasn't changed. It is a dark Irish bar. We ate upstairs but the food was quick to the table and it wasn't absolutely nuts like the 90 minutes wait at a neighbor restaurant. When I go back I'll try the chicken pot pie. I've been there for steak night and it is good. The specials were sea food based but I wouldn't have hesitated to try them. Next time! read more
