I come to Cracker Barrel because I genuinely enjoy the pecan pancakes and chicken sausage. Since I don't eat pork, my breakfast options at most restaurants are already limited, so I tend to stick with places that offer good alternatives. Unfortunately, this was the worst experience I've ever had at a Cracker Barrel. My grits and chicken sausage were served cold. I politely brought it to my server's attention, and instead of apologizing or offering to replace it, she responded, "Should I go in back and get a meat thermometer?" That response was so unprofessional that I asked to speak with the manager. The manager came over, acknowledged my concerns, took the grits and sausage, and told me she would replace them. However, I had split one of the sausages with the side of my fork before sending it back. When the food returned, it was obvious they had simply microwaved the same sausage and grits and added more cheese to the grits. It wasn't a replacement at all. I don't argue with restaurants. Once I realized what had happened, I quietly got up and left. I don't believe in forcing my money or my business on anyone. If a restaurant shows me that's the level of service they want to provide, I'll simply spend my money somewhere else. Afterward, I looked at this location's reviews and saw it has only a 2.6-star rating. After today's experience, I understand why. I actually ordered the wrong thing as I wanted the boneless chicken with the potatoes and corn and I ordered with the bone. She was able to correct it quickly. The food was good and staff was nice. I remember when Cracker Barrel in Old Brooklyn Ohio opened/ it was a fun, friendly place to go with low prices and a great shopping experience while you waited for a table. The staff were friendly and helpful and even took the time to gift wrap your purchases for free. I loved the large candy jars behind the counter where you could buy what, and as much, candy that you wanted. Well all of that changed! When we visited last week the Hostess was rude and angry! When we asked for a table by the fireplace she said "No" and sat us as far away as possible. We waited 20 minutes for service, which is typical now, and the food is not the same..Food was OK but not great. Then when you pay the check there's another long wait, especially if you get in the wrong line. Do Not go if you're in a hurry because nothing fast happens at The Cracker Barrel. We did order takeout recently online and waited in line for 10 minutes to get our food. We wanted the southern fried honey chicken available on weekends but I couldn't add it to the cart so assumed it was not available and opted for the fried chicken and meatloaf combo dinner. The chicken was cooked welll but very spicy, the meatloaf looked old and reheated, the same for the mashed potatoes. Very disappointing food and experience. My wife went in to get a table for our family and the hostess refused to sit her and my daughter because me and my two sons were not there at the moment. We were in the parking lot at gas station across the street. My wife waited a few minutes and asked to sit again so she could order because we were in a time crunch. The hostess refused to sit her and my daughter again and then complained to her coworker out loud in front of my wife and daughter. Absolute trash customer service. The restaurant was dead, not busy. Whoever is in charge of this Cracker Barrel needs to properly train their employees to not be completely insane. read more

A casual restaurant with good food. They have a decent selection of food. I really like their pot roast. Our waitress was very friendly, helpful when it came to the menu, and she had a lot of patience when it came to waiting on us. I truly appreciate that. Arrived here at 12:17 To a nearly empty parking lot and restaurant so I thought service/food would be great. Server came over in a few minutes took my drink order and my food order and it is now 1230 and I haven't seen any food. OK 1234 my broccoli tomato slices and pork chops of the day arrived--- that's 17 minutes and not really acceptable here. And while the tomatoes are room temperature and the broccoli is hot and not overcooked, the pork chops, smothered in gravy are not piping hot... They are cold. So while I'm waiting for my gravy to congeal, I slice open a biscuit and go to spread some butter on it and both containers of butter were liquid melted, which doesn't spread on a biscuit- they both actually went on 1/2 of one biscuit so I'm taking one pork chop and most of the biscuits home so I can heat them and dine hot and properly. I'm also sitting on one of those wobbly chairs with three legs are one length and the other one is an inch shorter so I don't dare move. The place is clean and filling up nicely now at 12:50 and my server Cara was OK+ until she asked how the food was, and I told her it was cold but she's handling many many tables and it appears to this writer that all the food is coming out veerryyyyy slowly for all today. Cara just asked if I want a box for my food and a to go cup for a second iced tea that she filled even as I did not ask for it so she now goes to OK ++ and she's not the cook so I can't blame her for that. Good experience today. Since I dine out so many times per week and month, this experience wasn't anywhere nearly bad as some of the ones I've dined at during the past 30 days. On a recent visit to my hometown, I decided to to try a familiar spot. I used to eat at this Cracker Barrel often when I was pregnant with my now 21 year old. So yeas, it's been awhile since I ate here or any Cracker Barrel. Free ample parking, easy to find as it's right off the exit 480. I forgot about all of the various merchandise that you see upon entering the restaurant. They have the nerve to have the Halloween stuff out already lol. We were greeted and seated quickly. Noah was our waiter.. he wasn't friendly nor was he rude either. I think he was just having a day and that's fine because he wasn't rude nor impatient. I ordered the French toast casserole with bacon and hash browns. My sister had the the Grandpa breakfast with pecan pancakes! I had a bite of those pecan pancakes... yes Mam sooooo good! Ordered food on the app for pick up. Was very easy. Even pick up was extremely easy. I ordered a new item, crispy chicken strips with steak fries and Cole slaw. The chicken was very juicy even with it being crispy. It was delicious with the crunchy texture. Unfortunately my fries got a little soft by the time I got home, but they were still delicious. We absolutely love the store when you walk in, they always have the cutest home and garden decor, clothes, old school snacks and more. First time at Cracker Barrel and it's exactly what I expected! Fun cozy place with charm. I want to note how friendly and exceptional the service is, from our hostess to the waitress. All were so friendly and smiling and patient with us! We ordered the sweet tea (SO GOOD), country fried steak (favorite), chicken and dumplings, with sides of mac n cheese, mashed potatoes, green beans and corn. Everything was decent - kind of exactly what you would expect from here. It's not going to be the best food in the world but it's exactly what you want when you're coming to Cracker Barrel. I absolutely love shopping at Cracker Barrel's country store. I purchased a blouse and earring this evening after work at this location. I decided to eat dinner in the restaurant area. I couldn't have been more disappointed. I ordered the Friday fish dinner with a baked potato ($2.00) extra and green beans. The entire meal came out basically cold. The baked potato was ice cold, old, hard and wet. I hate returning any food but, had a taste for a hot baked potato. I kindly asked for a new fresh hot baked potato. I was served back the same potato that was put into the microwave. Gross & disgusting. The two fish pieces were so tiny, 1/4 the size of a regular portion of fish. (Cold too). So, I won't be returning to this location any time soon. I'm sad because I used to very much enjoy their lunches/dinners there. In addition, the servers were telling the patrons that a man collapsed the other day while eating there. (Something that I don't want to hear while dining out). The young male cashier asked "how was my meal". When I stated to say 'not so good' he immediately started chatting with his co-worker next to him. So that was rude. Sad. We order dinner, it might have been close to 6pm on Saturday, March 5th, 2025 1. Maple bacon grilled chicken breast with broccoli and mashed potatoes 2. Scrambled eggs with bacon, sausage and pancakes My husband tells me "Their pancakes are really the best". All of a sudden, my husband stops eating, puts his fork down and looks at me. I look at him, then I look at his plate and notice why he stopped eating. From under his pancakes appeared a wing nut. WOW! Our waitress is nowhere to be seen, so I go to the hostess and tell her to immediately send the manager to our table, which she does. Manager looks at the plate and says: "oh, they are looking for it all over the kitchen, it fell of the grill scraper, and they can't find it. Can I bring you a new plate?" As the hungry man my husband is, he asks for one more fresh pancake. My reaction would have been a little different. Manager takes that one order off the check (which changes the amount from about $38 to $25.12), and a fresh pancake comes out of the kitchen pretty fast. Unfortunately, it is not cooked all the way, raw batter all over. But we are just done and tired of complaining again. We paid (cash) and left. Unfortunately, I did not keep the receipt. I was debating with my inner voice all night if I should report that to Corp. and/or leave a review on Yelp. I mean, this could have become a serious and expensive issue had he bitten or even swallowed that wing nut. This is my sister's favorite place. So when she came into town, we did breakfast here. The staff is always super friendly! Our waitress was awesome. I was a little disappointed that their menu no longer has my favorite, Egg In A Nest". So I went pretty traditional with 2 eggs over easy, bacon (crispy please) and biscuits. I've never been a fan of Cracker Barrel and my visit to this location continues to confirm that. The menu offers southern style cuisine and the prices are fairly reasonable (surprisingly) around $8-$12 for entrees. The sides are not very good. I was disappointed in all 3 that I ordered - turnip greens (disgusting), side salad and hash brown casserole. My entree was the chicken tenderloins and they were alright. We did have exceptional service, though! We had a large group with a birthday celebration and our waitresses were so very accommodating to us. We brought our own cake and they were kind enough to bring out plates and cut the cake for us. Because of the service, I would return if we ever have a celebration again! read more
