Last night, we decided to eat at the cracker barrel on Tiedeman rd in Cleveland. It was fairly busy so we didn't mind the wait. We were seated pretty quickly but then we sat for about 15 minutes before a server even came over to us. We ordered an app, our drinks, and our entrees all at the same time since we had been ready. 45 minutes later, the waitress comes back to ask us to give her are order again. It never was put it. Meanwhile, other people are coming in, getting their meals and leaving already. We keep asking for the app and at least some bread. My kids were hungry and I am diabetic and needed to eat. Finally after an hour and a half, we got cold fries pickles and some bread. I asked for plates and the waitress was very rude with an attitude towards me. We finally got our meals. Half of it was cold. We never got napkins, we had to ask another waitress for them, of which she gave us two. For our table of five. 5 minutes after delivering our food, the waitress was ready to give us boxes and get us out of there. I have never had such a terrible dining experience anywhere in my life. I'm always very patient when I know that restaurants are busy. I used to be a server myself and I know how difficult of a job it is. The experience last night was beyond ridiculous. There is no reason that she should come back and retake our order because it wasn't put in for almost an hour. We paid close to $70 for a lackluster meal from an extremely rude waitress that took over 2 hours from start to finish. I wish that I had spoken to a manager when I was there but at that point I just wanted to go home and put my kids to bed. read more

I've never been a fan of Cracker Barrel and my visit to this location continues to confirm that. The menu offers southern style cuisine and the prices are fairly reasonable (surprisingly) around $8-$12 for entrees. The sides are not very good. I was disappointed in all 3 that I ordered - turnip greens (disgusting), side salad and hash brown casserole. My entree was the chicken tenderloins and they were alright. We did have exceptional service, though! We had a large group with a birthday celebration and our waitresses were so very accommodating to us. We brought our own cake and they were kind enough to bring out plates and cut the cake for us. Because of the service, I would return if we ever have a celebration again! read more

The food was excellent but the service was unacceptable. There was a good waitress - Ms. Britney. She did most of the work - brought drinks, gave us our food - and was so pleasant --even looked to find our assigned waitress. Finally, our tatooed waitress asked if we were ready to order and I replied "we have been ready for 30 minutes." She took our order and we didn't see her again til she gave us a check. I was really torn on what to rate this Cracker Barrel. The food is usually good however the service isn't always the best so that's why I settled with a four. I would've given it a 3.5 so I rounded up to a 4. The last several visits I've made here have been take out only so I can't comment on dine in experience but I can comment on my carry out experience. This past visit my family and I ordered two of the Sunday Homestyle Chicken dinners (thank you Cracker Barrel for now having it every day instead of just Sundays). We placed the order on the phone and we asked for honey mustard to go along with the chicken. At the store we always ask them if everything is inside and they assured us yes it is. Well since it is their job we assumed they checked everything. When we got home and took out everything we realized by "honey mustard" they gave us packs of yellow mustard and little containers of honey. I was speechless. I've never seen something so ridiculous in my life. I tried to mix the mustard in the honey but there was no way it was working. Apparently some common sense was lacking that day in Cracker Barrel. The food however was delicious. The chicken was cooked perfectly it wasn't too crispy and it wasn't dry. I wish it would be cooked like this every time. The sides we ordered were hash brown casserole and the sweet potato casserole which was also very delicious. Everything was still warm when we got home which is always a nice bonus and cooked to perfection. The only complaint is seriously honey AND mustard packets? Where's the face palm button when you need it? *Also the restaurant has doors that are not automatic so if you are in wheelchair, scooter, use any kind of mobility device it's a little tough getting in unless someone is with you to help get the doors or you meet a kind enough stranger who will help you with the doors* read more

My first time to this location in many-many-many years. Place was packed, we were seated right away and our server, Angela came over right away to get our drink order. Meal took a while to arrive but understandable with the amount of people inside. Food was good, you get a great amount for the price, and our server was GREAT!! There is no point in coming here for the food when you have to wait an hour to even be seated, not to mention the wait for the food is going to make you want to just get up and leave. Let me start by saying this.. I can confidently say that I will always have a story about this trip to good ol' Cracker Barrel. We decided to venture here for dinner and with the first step inside, the vibes were off but that's probably just the nature of the food chain. Getting rid of some of the creepy photos on the wall might help, though. Service to be seated was great, staff was kind and prompt. Our server comes over to take our drink and food orders, and our drinks came out very fast. Great vibes so far! Or so we thought. It wasn't too busy tonight either, so we were ready for a quick meal. 10 minutes go by, our server brings out a bottle of honey for our biscuits.. but not the actual biscuits themselves. Server says food will be out "shortly". Perfect! 20 minutes goes by, server brings out a plate of sauces for our chicken tenders, but no chicken. says again that the food will be out quickly. another 15 minutes goes by, and the food comes out. Hooray!! I am hangry by this point, and full of iced tea and lemonade. I then see a drip of something brown drip off of the plate the server is holding. oh? The server then asks if we can move our sauces so they can put the beans on that plate because they're a "little messy". This small bowl was filled to the BRIM with soupy pinto beans, and an added suprise. What is the suprise, you might ask?? The server's thumb. Their WHOLE thumb (with a very long, dirty fingernail, might I add) was in this bowl of beans. Not only was their thumb covered in beans, so was the rest of my friend's food. And the server didn't mention a thing as they pulled their thumb out of the beans and touched both of our plates after. After my friend and I stared at each other in shock, I decide to try what I was most excited for: the hashbrown casserole. However, upon tasting it, I could tell that they were trying to get rid of food that had been sitting out all day. it was luke-warm at best, and dry. The server then came back not even 5 minutes later and gave us our check... we hadn't even had 3 bites of our food yet. it felt like they were kicking us out, even though they didn't close for over an hour after that. I do appreciate that the server came over and said, "Sorry for the wait for your food. here is some free chocolate cake." Now, this was kind and I recognize that, but goodness, the cake looked like it was straight out of Matilda. It was somehow so dry and moist at the same time...? Again, like they were trying to get rid of food that had been out all day. The only redeeming part of this experience was the store itself. There are some cute little things in there, although they are overpriced. But they probably can't do much about that in this economy. Met a longtime college buddy for dinner at the Cracker Barrel. We hadn't seen each other in over a decade. I really like this place because it's a decent value for the amount of food they provide. I ordered the 4 piece chicken dinner with green beans and turnip greens; I was pretty hungry so I added the hash brown casserole. My friend and wife ordered the two chicken breast dinner, unfortunately they didn't have the gravy available. I usually get cornbread for dinner, but I've been on this biscuit kick lately, so I ordered biscuits for my dinner. My wife and friend got the cornbread. This was my first time to the Barrel and it will not be my last I am visiting Ohio and a friend recommended we come here. I had the pecan pancakes per the servers recommendation and they were to die for!!! Bacon crispy, eggs scrambled and baked apples. I highly recommend this place! read more

Such great service at this Cracker Barrel. The hosts and servers are pleasant and quick on their feet. Coffee is served hot and the kitchen works quickly. As for the food, you can't really go wrong with southern, comfort food. Breakfast is, of course, served all day long. Provided the weather permits, I definitely recommend lounging on the rocking chairs outside if there's a wait for a table or browsing the store up front for knickknacks. There are great gems from greeting cards to candles to dutch ovens and everything in between. No complaints to report, just great food and awesome service! read more

We went to Cracker Barrel for a nice Sunday dinner. Something happened with our waitress and another customer and the next thing we know I waitress has left the building. Another waitress brought our food out but didn't realize she would be our new waitress. I was watching the manager and she seemed unaware that when a waitress leaves/gets fired tables need to be covered. She seemed clueless about what was going on in the resturant. The food was good but there was a gap in service until I STEPPED IN. Also the floor was dirty and several people seemed upset how long it took to be seated. This has become my husband's favorite breakfast place so I have now been twice. I ordered something off the whole fixings menu, which is their healthy menu. The problem is, they don't provide you with the actual nutritional value. However, I did enjoy my meal of egg beaters, tomato slices, fruit, turkey bacon and dry whole wheat toast, which I substituted out instead of grits. My husband ordered some large breakfast with eggs, grits, gravy, biscuits, hash brown casserole, and ham. He loved it, especially the biscuits and gravy. Prices are good too as each entree was about $8. Ambiance was also great with a big fire going. And their shop is fun to browse in and the table games are fun too. This is definitely a chain, but a scent more for the price and value. read more

Hostess was extremely rude. Waited 45 min. She was waiting for one table to leave to seat us. There were plenty of empty tables to push together accommodate us. When we talked to the manager, she got worse. She was talking smack to the other waitresses and telling them to slow server us. No hurry. Very unprofessional. Girl needs to look for different job. I can respect that cutoff times need to be in place for pick up, but if you say no orders past 7:30 and decide to change it while a customer is placing an order BEFORE 7:30, it's an issue! I frequent cracker barrel a few times a month . My only complaint are the portions are never consistent. The food however is always good . The staff are always amazing. Even when they are completely packed the service is slower but not horrible by any means . Last night I went for turkey Thursday as I like to call it . They were pretty busy .The host explained it may be a 30 minute wait as there was only one cook and it was the manager . I absolutely chose to wait . We were called not even 10 minutes later . Another drive back from Cleveland Clinic and we were hungry and wanted to stop and get something to eat. Mom had suggested here because she likes the fried chicken. So they seated us pretty quickly but they put us in the far corner by the window. It took quite a while before anybody even came up to us. Surprisingly Mom was wanting some coffee and nobody was looking at us or coming toward us or anything so we waited about 5 minutes and Mom got up and started to go up to the waitress that sat us. By that time then somebody started to come to the table and ask for our drink order we gave it and then they came back finally and walked away and then it took them awhile to come back and it was a somebody else that came back and took our lunch order. But we were ready by that time because we didn't want to lose that waitress. We ordered our food it came out in normal time. The unfortunate thing was mom ordered fried Chicken and it was very well done, so we waited for somebody to be usually come back and check on us and nobody ever did because it was way too overcooked so finally with looking around there was a waitress that was helping another table she came over and helped us and we asked her if she could get our waitress she asked what was wrong, we told her that the chicken was way over cooked. She said no problem she took the chicken and the other girl brought out new chicken within minutes. So that was good. so I have mixed feelings about this restaurant some of the food was warm some of the food was hot or burt. Some people were helpful and others not. We have eaten at many different Cracker Barrel's in multiple states and compared to others, this one is sub-par. We were a party of 9, seated at a table with 8 chairs. No one hung around so we took it upon ourselves to pull up an extra chair. We were then told that this was a fire hazard and had to split our party. When we asked to speak with a manager, the hostess came over to explain that their tables do not seat more than 8 people. Mind you, this was the person who took our name and party size, so why would you not know that upon check in? We again asked to speak with the manager who eventually did come over and said it was a fire hazard to seat 9 at a table. Our order was taken and we then sat for about a good hour before we got our food. My food was fine but my husbands chicken was over cooked. Absolutely gross. Ham had the consistency of beef jerky. My daughter's hot cocoa was watered down to just chocolate colored water. The biscuits were smashed and the bacon was REALLY under cooked. Ordered $50 worth of food. Everything was burned the bacon the sausage and the eggs were not scrambled medium as I asked. The eggs were hard and a sliced patty. On top of it all everything was cold. Disgusting!!!! I wish I could give this place a negative 100. Even the orange juice tasted like colored water...yuk.When I called to speak with the manager I was told he was the one on the line doing the cooking. This was a great option for a family lunch with my kids and grandmother. Very inviting and entertaining for us all. The nostalgia is the same as I remember from my own childhood and it's always nice to bribe my kids with "if you finish your meals we can get something from the shop".... And for myself as well because believe it or not you can find something super cute for your house or a gift for someone else. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because the service was a little slow for a Wednesday.. but we truly enjoyed our experience so it wasn't paid much mind to. Absolutely horrible ! Rude staff . worse management and the online wait List is a joke ! I called to see about a reservation on Sunday and was told to use the online wait list . I signed up for what was posted as a 15- 20 min wait ....I jumped right out of bed freshened up and drove up to the store ....I arrived in 20 . I was told a 2 hour wait ! I told them I was a sign up online for 20 min and the staff looked at me dead silent then said I don't know what to tell u and rolled their eyes ! They even confirmed I was signed up . I asked for a manager and they kept looking over but would not come to the front pffff .... I called as well but was just left on hold ! When I walk into Cracker Barrel, I love the smell of burning wood spewing from the chimney. I think this is one of the only restaurants I have dined at that has a large, burning fireplace. It's so cozy. Well, on today's visit, I called ahead for some fish fry. I ordered the cod with fries, cole slaw, biscuit, and cornbread. It was really delicious. Since I took it to go, the breading on the fish was a little mushy by the time I actually ate it, which was about 20 minutes later. However, the taste of the fish and the batter was delicious. The sides made this dish very filling. Actually, I couldn't quite finish the cornbread muffin, even though it was yummy. While I was here, I was thinking about my boss who is on FMLA and staying with her parents one street from my house. Christmas is coming up, so I decided to buy her a couple gifts and a Christmas card to cheer her up. I knew that once I got back to the office my co-workers would pitch in a couple bucks and sign their names on the card. This worked out as expected. Also, Cracker Barrel offers free gift wrapping! That was an added bonus. I've eaten here on several occasions and it's classic American fare that's always good. If you want an expensive rocking chair, this is the place. They have kids' rocking chairs for $79! Overall, I really like this place, but I don't visit often enough. read more

I ordered take out on June 14, 2020. I was shocked to see the store & check out packed with customers! Many picking up take out orders, and eat-in customers waiting to pay. NO ONE social distancing. Most were not wearing masks. No sanitizer available on the check out counter. A chaotic environment. Staff seemed flustered and no one attempted to direct customers into forming a line. The Old Timer is my favorite. You get your choice of eggs, hash-browns/Apples, biscuits and gravy, grits, and your choice of meat all for under $8.
