I haven't been to this particular Bob Evans in many years and I know this because I'm a ten year Yelp writer and all the lousy reviews that I posted because I walked out of this place more than once we're gone or I can't find them. I didn't wanna dine at the dirty little Bob's big boy across the street and I was way overdue for my first dining of the day. So I pulled in here, hoping, hoping, hoping. walked in was greeted - for a change. Was seated right away and server was over in just a minute or two. I got Christina with a K. I asked for sweet tea less than medium ice and she came back with just the right amount of ice. I always get banana bread and it came over Perfectly prepared and the butter wasn't like a rock. The chicken salad fruit platter and the chicken salad sandwich are both back so it was an easy choice today. since there was no cooking involved I figured it would be over in no time, and it was, very nicely showcased--blueberries were huge telling me that they were not going to be sour and bitter The strawberries were. chunk sliced, and there was at least a whole banana sliced off to the side. Chicken salad was well seasoned and had just enough mayo or whatever they use and topping everything off with honey. roasted pecans was a good touch Kristina is obviously a seasoned server and and checked on me often, was very attentive and brought me all the accoutrements for a to go bag including a to go cup/straw for my second sweet tea. I'm very impressed with these changes and I'm hopeful that they can retain my business my reviews and increase the star rating. read more

Being a senior I didn't want to cook my Easter dinner for 18 people this year. I was making my grocery list and started to add Bob Evans microwaveable mashed potatoes because I have always served them at every holiday meal. My family loves them. An idea struck me that perhaps Bob Evans has a family sized meal deal! On the website they have Farmhouse Family Feast meals! I chose the premium option which feeds 10, which included ham, turkey breast, stuffing and 3 sides and 3 deserts! Seeing I was feeding 18 I also ordered a feast that fed 8. Being the day before Easter I didn't think I had much of a chance but I called anyway. The representative was so kind and helpful! She said they did have supplies and could fill my order! I was shocked when she told me the price! It was cheaper than what I would have spent at the grocery store! We set a pick up time and my order was ready when we arrived! Everything pre-cooked and ready to reheat the following day! The employee in the store was friendly and polite! Even offered help to get two big boxes to our car! I was a bit nervous that the food wouldn't compare with my home cooked holiday meal. I was, as were my family, pleasantly surprised! Not only stove to table in an hour but delicious! Amazing place and atmosphere, and man compared to IHOP this place wins by a mile matter of fact five miles they have fast service, great employees who have a awesome way of expressing themselves, and have a great attitude. Stopped in for breakfast with my grandkids around 2 PM, and it was awful. Food came out cold, sausage patties were burnt, and the "shredded hash browns" were basically a few scraps. The kids' mini pancakes were hard, and everything took forever. My order was delayed because they put it "in a to-go box," but it made no sense. The waitress tried, but the kitchen clearly didn't care -- no pride in presentation or quality. Even the bathrooms were a mess with no toilet paper. So ,this use to be a favorite for good ol comfort food . That being said, this place has gotten horrible, which I guess explains why there is rarely anyone ever there . The food is never the same . You can order the same meal on different occasions and it'll be completely different . Not better ,just different. The portions are horrible small . For example ,the turkey dinner . First time was decent at best , second time was so salty my lips burned, the turkey was a shredded mess and stuffing like soup . Third time which was last night . Barely any turkey , stuffing was wet salty mush and thrashed were watered down junk. The stuffing was 85% percent of the meal . My uncle got the chicken n noodles deep dish . I am surprised this Bob Evans restaurant got 2 stars? I was staying at extended stay in Brooklyn Ohio for memorial day weekend and originally was going to dine in for breakfast at Cracker Barrel across the street. I walked in and to much disappointment they said it was a 30 minutes wait? Ugh seriously? I noticed cracker barrels have been having this long wait because I went to one in Wisconsin for lunch just to find out it was an hour wait. Well I'm not going to wait and originally I saw this Bob Evans while googling it and it was 5 minutes away from my hotel and they were available to serve breakfast less than a minute. Other than that the quality is just as good as cracker barrel but not the disappointing wait since I had to go to the Rock and roll Hall of Fame later on today. Anyways I ordered a simple coffee black which I only care for and some orange juice to start my day which made me happy. Only disappointment was they forgot to give water on the table despite that I'm solo eating for breakfast. It's late breakfast because I live in Chicago and we're an hour behind Cleveland so 8:56 am in Cleveland is really 7:56 am Chicago. Ordered the classic breakfast as my breakfast to start my day off. If everyone is vaccinated Nation wide I don't know why they still have to practice social distancing but Bob Evans seems to be treating it normal which I like. Most of the time food from Bob Evans is o.k. I usually like breakfast. Some of the lunch/dinner food is really good, but like a grab bag...you never know what you'll get. Yesterday, my orders were missing rolls, the noodle soup tasted like a cup of oil, and the one piece of turkey was dried out (microwave?). The other dinner was ok, except no rolls. It was a chopped sirloin dinner, really good (best mashed potatoes ever). It's like you take your chances. I'd stick with breakfast. read more

Ehh it's been a little rough last few times we've ordered. Consistently missing items that are supposed to come with the meals. My boyfriend orders the farmhands breakfast and it comes with sausage gravy. They forgot it so many times he always has to check the bag now. They forget the cranberry relish with the turkey meal. Once they forgot his whole meal and he had to drive all the way back. They did give him some banana bread which was appreciated. I tried the crispy chicken sandwich which was missing the pickles and it was honestly inedible and I am not picky. The chicken was really rubbery and overcooked and weird texture. The breading was falling off. Honey mustard was also forgotten. I threw it out. They did send me a giftcard for that so at least they care unlike some other places. I don't know if they got a new chef or someone who doesn't know the menu but hopefully they get it figured out because we do like ordering takeout here. read more

Good most of time but you never know if you're going to get everything you are supposed to with carryout. Sometimes you get the whipped cream with your fruit topped pancakes, sometimes not. Sometimes you get your pancake toppings but the meat that comes with them is missing. They could use more quality control. read more

My sister in law and I had a few minutes to kill yesterday morning so we stopped in for breakfast. Was seated right away by a friendly guy. Not long the waitress came over and brought us coffee and took our order. Then tick tock, I don't know what was going on in the kitchen but we waited for at least a 1/2 hour 40 minutes for breakfast. The food wasn't that good, my potatoes were hard. Okay, we go to pay and waited at the register for a minute or two. The cashier said was everything okay, I said yeah okay except a bit slow. I like the Open-Faced Roast Beef. They also have a magician there on Tuesday nights from 6-8 who can do tricks and make balloon twists. He also spits when he talks and puts his gnarly hands on all the little kids who walk buy. His name is Vince Baginski. He dances and is pretty stupid. They were probably slammed, as they forgot both my mashed potatoes and chicken gravy AND a slice of cherry pie....BUT.....it was on time, cheap, and the chicken and biscuits were to DIE for and the cole slaw was sweet, but nice....manager assured me they would credit me and give me FREE pie the next time I ordered. The food was delivered by DoorDash, no problem. I used the 15% off coupon when I ordered online. The food was warm, not hot, but that's understandable. Everything was good; we received breakfast for four: scrambled eggs, 12 sausage links, 6 biscuits, lots of potatoes, and we received utensils and napkins. BUT only enough eggs for two people. Yep. I ordered out because couldn't find eggs at the grocery store, plus I figured it would be nice during these trying times to support the businesses that are certainly struggling right now. Don't bother. Go somewhere else for dinner. Bob Evans used to be our go to restaurant. Not anymore ever again. We ordered 3 different dinners, turkey with dressing, pot roast and a salad. The Pot Roast was the most disappointing. The meal in the picture is untouched. I complained to management and was told well, that's our portion. My mom inquired further and was told that they were instructed to give smaller portions. This is a kids meal! You shouldn't have to eat dinner after eating dinner. The chicken Cobb salad was also a disappointment. The chicken breast was over cooked. It was sliced very thin and then cut in half. They were very generous with the lettuce. I essentially had a head of lettuce with the equivalent of 3 chicken nuggets. I would have been better off with a chicken nugget meal. The turkey portion was slightly better but my mom said it wasn't good. I suspect that her portion was better because its not a item that moves fast. We should have gone to Cracker Barrel.
