I love Cracker Barrel. I literally have two of their rocking chairs on my front porch. The country music, the blend of young families, older couples and everyone in between tells me that a universal staple appeals to everyone. A simple menu of comfort food, a patriotic venue, a welcoming spirit, unique gifts , and vintage candy from years gone by and you get the appeal. I can sense they were all overwhelmed and still did their best to remain positive. The food was okay. White cheddar cheese bites, I do recommend. Scrambled eggs with the momma's breakfast was good. I prefer my bacon a little bit more crispy but it wasn't terrible. One of my pancakes was burnt. The caramel latte was good. Pancake Latte tasted like pure black coffee, we order it to-go. It was a long wait time due to being short staff from being seated and getting the food. I haven't eaten Cracker Barrel in years. The Loaded Shrimp skillet didn't come in a skillet, it actually came in a bowl: can be very misleading to customers. Overall; I will give it another chance if they can get more staff. First time trying Cracker Barrel, and got to say the experience was okay. Walking in you're met with like a snacks, merchandise, drinks, etc then you have the take out station as well a host station for people who want to dine in. The hostess didn't really seem like she wanted to be there at all. When seated down at the table it was okay our server took a bit of time which was fine. Upset that they didn't have any omelette but had an alternative. The French toast had way too much butter and was light with the powder sugar. My partner wanted her egg to be runny but not too runny but the egg she got today was veryyyy runny. But overall the experience was okay everybody finished their meal. read more

Our server seemed to be a little overwhelmed with her tables. Got our food an hour after placing the order and still didn't get any bread, and that they also didn't have any of the sides we orders with our chicken. Okay, I would have gone to Bojangles but now I get to pay extra for food I don't want! Food was edible. The mashed potatoes were cold, and the broccoli was limp and a little mushy. I ordered the fried chicken. It was hot when it arrived. It took about an hour after we ordered our food for it to arrive at the table. They blamed it on the chicken. When it came time to oay the bill, it took a while for the cashier to realize someone was waiting to pay. Service at this location is less than desirable. I wish I could say the food was worth it, but waiting nearly 2 full hours for a table at Cracker Barrel was one of the most frustrating dining experiences I've had in a long time. What made it worse was the complete lack of communication or urgency from the staff. We were told it would be a "short wait," which turned into 30 minutes, then an hour, and eventually just shy of two hours. There was no apology, no explanation, and no real effort to make things right. People who arrived after us were being seated first, and when we asked about it, the host just brushed us off. By the time we were finally seated, the experience was already ruined. The food was average at best--definitely not good enough to justify such a long, disorganized wait. If you're thinking about coming here, do yourself a favor: go somewhere else unless you enjoy wasting your time and being treated like an afterthought. This used to be a place we enjoyed, but after this experience, we won't be back. read more

It took me way too long to write this so I forgot our servers name however she was fantastic. She was very attentive to our large group and very engaging. The food was staggered throughout our time as it should be since we were a party of 8+. My fried okra was perfect. The baked potato was perfect as well. I have a missed bag opinion of this Cracker Barrel. Worked a long day at work, all I wanted was some good ole comfort food. I called in my order at exactly 630pm, received my order at 740p, no lie. I couldn't get upset at the nice ladies who took my payment. SMH, I get it, everyone is short staffed. But if you cant handle call in orders, just kindly tell phone customers the truth. I have absolutely no clue why this place has such a low rating ! I've gone here two days back to back and my god it's been so delicious every time Breakfast and lunch were beyond delicious! My wife and I met my son and his roommate last evening for dinner. I had the country fried steak with sawmill gravy, hash brown casserole, and green beans. The steak and casserole were delicious, but the green beans did not taste as I remembered them. I've always loved the green beans and their flavoring. The biscuits were as good as always. My wife had the fried chicken, but she was disappointed to learn they had taken the roast beef off the menu, her favorite. She also wanted greens, and the waitress said they were out. She ordered the hash brown casserole and macaroni and cheese instead. She liked everything. My son ordered the grilled chicken strips and enjoyed them. He had hash brown casserole and fried okra. His roommate ordered the smoky grilled chicken which looked like it had a good bit of seasoning on it, but he said it just tasted like grilled chicken. They enjoyed their sides as well. The waitress was very cordial and friendly, but we had to ask for refills on water and tea which is a no-no with my wife. We do expect the server to be attentive to when our glasses are empty. The restaurant was not really busy when we arrived around 5:00 PM Sunday, but got busier as we dined. We had a nice view of the roaring fireplace which made for a rather romantic atmosphere. One of the guys even added several logs to the fire while we were there. Overall we had a very nice time meeting our son who lives in Columbia and I'm sure we'll go back! Right off of Hwy 77, north of Columbia and south of Blythewood, is good old Cracker Barrel. What we like about this chain is the extensive menu, good food and very excellent service. Prices are very reasonable. It was close to lunch. Our server was Laqwell. We were hungry and had been driving for over an hour. A perfect place to stop. Wife had soup ($5.19) along with their great rolls. I got into a Friday special: Fish Fry ($9.99). I got the better part of the lunch...for certain. Four perfectly fried pieces of cod. Lightly breaded so as to be near unnoticeable. They were so yummy. The slaw was very good and I was happy. I will be sending a letter to this location on our server. Laqwell went out of his way to accommodate our questions and requests, was pleasant and genuine. A fine young man who did a great job for us. He certainly deserved another "star" from management. We have eaten here a long time, but haven't been on a while. Tonight's food was terrible. In neither of our two dinners was anything seasoned. Maybe it was just a bad Sunday night. Don't know, of course. I don't like complaining. However, this was not good. Cracker Barrel is still struggling with staff shortage and supply issues. I get it. But, I want management to hear this. If I could give this a zero I would. Half full dining room. Party of 3. Took 20mins to get drinks one was wrong, took another 15 to take our order. 35 mins later food was wrong. And inedible. Bathrooms were disgusting. I spent the last 3 days at a BMX event and the porta John's were cleaner. Pot roast has changed from usual recipe and is not as tasty and very salty. The fried okra was rubbery as if the oil was old or sat in grease too long. We waited 20 minutes to be seated.( as we were standing there waiting, there were several workers walking through and through, not even explaining that they would be with us shortly, etc. almost as if they were hoping we would leave. Maybe they were just too short staffed. ) We waited 35 min on food. Then never got the jelly we asked for. Waiter also had on strong cologne... bad for business. Food great never got salad or refill on drink. Once we pointed out we never got salad our server came back with bill any never saw them again. 3 servers and only 5 other tables . This the only chain food place that sits people on on top of each other then using the whole floor the 5 other tables were all around us. It wasn't just this location. All locations of crackler barrel do this. Super annoying bc some tables are louder then others. So you can tell they train them this way. Also 3 stall in the Ladies restroom lock was broken and it seems like it has been this way it was dusty rusty. read more

The biscuits and apple butter was really good! And the service was slower than I expected, but good. But they charge extra for the apple butter. This is unnecessary, and they also didn't tell us they were charging extra for it. And the portions were surprisingly small. It seems everytime we go, the food just isn't good quality and is kind of bland. I had meatloaf and it was mediocre at best, and we even found a bone in it. The mashed potatoes and my husband's sweet potato casserole were decent. My husband had the turkey and it was bland and tough. Last time we went my husband got the fried chicken and it just wasn't good! It was greasy and tough and lacked flavor. I think we're done giving Cracker Barrel new chances. read more

Big fan of cracker Bartels because I know I'm most likely going to get good food. Stopped here on the way back to Charleston after a panthers game. Probably the worst service I've gotten at any restaurant. Our waitress took our drink order right away but took over 10 minutes to get us the drinks. She took our food order when she dropped our drinks off and we did not see her for another 30 minutes which is because the manager came and got her. The manager walked by our table and saw that my husband looked upset. He stated that our drinks had been empty for 20+ minutes and we haven't seen our waitress since. He quickly went to the back and she showed up with drinks less than 5 minutes later. It took another 10+ minutes to get our food. Once we got our food we again hardly saw our waitress. I wanted to order a dessert but knew it would take too long so I didn't get it. I ordered the chicken fried chicken with fries and Mac. All of it was fantastic but horrible service. So we order and wait...and wait...and when the food arrives it is cold. So I ask our server to please bring hot food. When the food finally comes back out, it has been microwaved and left to get cool again. By this time the family was finished so I just ate what I could and let it be. When the server finally showed up again, she brought the glass of water I asked for when we sat down. She was rude and definitely not happy to be there. It looks like the Cracker Barrel off Legrand Road has went the way of the Sandhills Cracker Barrel. Sandhills closed down because of poor service and iffy food. The Legrand location had super slow service. We order the same breakfast and I guess our waitress picked our selection as we were not even asked if we wanted pancakes or French toast. Pancakes were cold and chewy. Last time coming here. Another Cracker Barrel which raced its way to the bottom of the barrel. Do not waste your time coming here. Cracker Barrel delivery drivers must have it pretty easy. Every location is right next to the Interstate. Even this one, which was a little further away than usual, must be a total lack of challenge for an 18-wheel driver! Once parked, it was the standard friendly service as at every CB. Gift shop selling trinkets and candies, lots of coffee refills, mildly greasy and salty meal (two eggs with sausage patties, biscuits, gravy, grits) and back onto the highway. Thought they were improving from a few years ago. Went to eat there twice a few weeks ago and had the same excellent waitress. Food was okay. Went back today and waited over 45 minutes for a simple breakfast order. A couple came in about 15 minutes after me, was served by another waitress, was through eating, and my order was still not served.
