Cold cheese on Egg N' Cheese Hashbrown Casserole
    Laura M.

Typical Cracker Barrel Chain vibe and decor. This one is slightly missing the mark. We ordered the cinnamon buns and the waitress came back and told us they were out. My guest was disappointed so she offered a piece of cinnamon pie but then came back 10 minutes later to say they were out of that also. There were no other options. It was Saturday morning around 10 am. The cheese on one of the dishes was cold. I had the Hashbrown Egg Skillet and it was good but the other plates didn't look as good as mine. Another strange thing was the items in the store, it looked like the exact same stuff they had last year. Nothing new, and that's was a first. Usually I can't leave without buying something but there wasn't a good selection at this one.

We've been coming to this location since the week they opened. We've always gotten consistently good food and service. Today was no exception. The newly remodeled dining room is bright and spacious. The place appears clean. They display a 95.5 sanitation grade. The restrooms were clean. The store is tidy. The service was fantastic. Our server made sure we didn't want for anything. Our water glasses never ran dry. I ordered the grilled trout. It was really good. I got pintos and grits as my sides. Our server brought me some chopped onions for my pinto beans. My wife got an egg sandwich. It was all good. We checked out the store before we left. They had some sales on Summer decor.

Always a pleasant visit here, friendly service and good food. I especially like their Campfire meals!

Food is adequate. Service is slow. Always a wait for a table. Ambiance is typical Cracker Barrel but updated.

Don't use the call center to place your order. You'll be reordering at arrival and waiting. In store are nice but wait is long.

It wasn't long before my server was over with a bottle of water and a glass full of ice. The reason I came here was because there was a salad listed on the menu that just sounded very refreshing for the hot summer afternoon. I ordered the chop salad with grilled chicken and it was out to me, perfectly plated, in about 5 minutes. The salad was delicious and the chicken was flavorful and hot. The restaurant is small and bright with tons of natural lighting. The bathroom is small, unisex, kind of dark and dim, and a little dingy. My server wasn't the most friendly and she didn't come back to my table after she dropped off the food. I had to go up to the front to ask for a side of dressing. I'd still recommend the restaurant and go back hoping for a different server.

A must stop for both dinner and Southern breakfast enthusiasts…read more On my way home from Charlotte, I used Yelp to find me a classic diner to start my day off right. I choose the Crack of Dawn Diner in Concord. I am so glad I did. Crack of Dawn Diner is the real thing--a local Concord breakfast-and-lunch spot serving traditional Southern fare at reasonable prices. The menu caters to local tastes, the dining room is filled with regulars, and the atmosphere is comfortable rather than trendy. Parking is somewhat limited. The private lot surrounding the restaurant was fully used so I parked in the lot next door that had signs that said private property, but it looked like other patrons were parking there also so I took the chance. As it turns out, it was safe to park there. The entrance is very welcoming, as well as the staff. Amanda was my very efficient and nice waitress. There is great teamwork here, and Amanda was well supported by, I believe, the owner who ran my food out and talked a bit with me. The menu is fascinating. A distinctly North Carolina menu. Several things jumped out: * Breakfast special for $6.59 weekdays * Breakfast plates mostly under $12 * Grits included as a side option * Livermush available * City ham and country ham both offered * Pork chops available for breakfast I ordered the country-fried steak with white gravy (essentially chicken-fried steak), along with two sunny-side-up eggs, perfectly prepared grits, a large buttermilk biscuit, and a delicious diner coffee. The restaurant occupies a stand-alone building with a warm, "come on in and rest a spell" atmosphere. Inside, you'll find counter seating, an open kitchen, and tables throughout the dining room. I chose a seat by the window overlooking the parking area. This was a great breakfast, that was reasonably priced, in a great atmosphere, with very nice people. It stuck to both my mind and ribs all day long. After breakfast, I continued on to downtown Concord and spent some time exploring one of North Carolina's most charming revitalized downtown districts. The breakfast was the perfect start to the morning. Crack of Dawn Diner has earned a spot on my repeat list whenever my travels take me through the Charlotte-Concord area.

I also ordered a side of green beans, they were also straight from the can. I also received a sweet tea, which was good but also how do you mess that up? And the kicker, $18 for that... should have stayed home. I was really hopeful for this place but after trying it twice and it was just as bland, I unfortunately will not be back.

There was no wait, so we seated immediately. Our waitress name is Imani. She is just cute as a button and very pleasant. She was patient as we decided on what we wanted off of the menu. I was impressed that they have a full bar. My best friend and I ordered espresso martinis which were compliments of another customer sitting in the bar area. The food was OK but not great, above all the customer service is what wins me over. I would actually come back here again and maybe enjoy a small plate and another espresso Martini. The only reason I wouldn't sit at the bar is because I would want Imani to be my waitress again. The bartender was super cool as well. Overall, I recommend this place as a casual spot to grab some breakfast. It's not over the top and the food is average, but the customer service is wonderful.
