Walked in, we were seated immediately. The inside has country decor which was cute. It seemed a little outdated and could use a deep cleaning. The coffee cups had dents around the edges. Looked as if they were teeth chips. Yikes. Our server was awesome, friendly , smiling and very helpful. There was a lot of foot traffic of people in and out dining in and to go orders. It took a little while for our food to come out but not a big deal. There was absolutely no flavor or seasoning in any of the food. The food presentation was nice, but everything was bland, tasteless. Even adding salt did not help. For me, its a hard pass on returning. When we checked out, I noticed that their health score was a 90. We didnt notice that before hand and would have passed. Customer service gets 5 stars alone.

I ordered the 3 eggs over medium with bacon and hashbrowns. The eggs were almost overcooked but still good. Bacon was cooked perfectly, nice and crispy. The hash browns had a funny taste which I think was from the oil they use. My husband had 3 eggs over medium with two large pieces of liver mush and breakfast potatoes. He loved all of it.

A must stop for both dinner and Southern breakfast enthusiasts…read more On my way home from Charlotte, I used Yelp to find me a classic diner to start my day off right. I choose the Crack of Dawn Diner in Concord. I am so glad I did. Crack of Dawn Diner is the real thing--a local Concord breakfast-and-lunch spot serving traditional Southern fare at reasonable prices. The menu caters to local tastes, the dining room is filled with regulars, and the atmosphere is comfortable rather than trendy. Parking is somewhat limited. The private lot surrounding the restaurant was fully used so I parked in the lot next door that had signs that said private property, but it looked like other patrons were parking there also so I took the chance. As it turns out, it was safe to park there. The entrance is very welcoming, as well as the staff. Amanda was my very efficient and nice waitress. There is great teamwork here, and Amanda was well supported by, I believe, the owner who ran my food out and talked a bit with me. The menu is fascinating. A distinctly North Carolina menu. Several things jumped out: * Breakfast special for $6.59 weekdays * Breakfast plates mostly under $12 * Grits included as a side option * Livermush available * City ham and country ham both offered * Pork chops available for breakfast I ordered the country-fried steak with white gravy (essentially chicken-fried steak), along with two sunny-side-up eggs, perfectly prepared grits, a large buttermilk biscuit, and a delicious diner coffee. The restaurant occupies a stand-alone building with a warm, "come on in and rest a spell" atmosphere. Inside, you'll find counter seating, an open kitchen, and tables throughout the dining room. I chose a seat by the window overlooking the parking area. This was a great breakfast, that was reasonably priced, in a great atmosphere, with very nice people. It stuck to both my mind and ribs all day long. After breakfast, I continued on to downtown Concord and spent some time exploring one of North Carolina's most charming revitalized downtown districts. The breakfast was the perfect start to the morning. Crack of Dawn Diner has earned a spot on my repeat list whenever my travels take me through the Charlotte-Concord area.

I also ordered a side of green beans, they were also straight from the can. I also received a sweet tea, which was good but also how do you mess that up? And the kicker, $18 for that... should have stayed home. I was really hopeful for this place but after trying it twice and it was just as bland, I unfortunately will not be back.

Once seated, the service was friendly and attentive. The food did not disappoint! Generous portions, fresh ingredients, and flavorful breakfast classics. The omelets and French toast were standout dishes, cooked just right and filling for the whole family. Drinks were refilled promptly, and everything came out hot and well-presented. The atmosphere was lively and cozy, perfect for a weekend brunch. The only minor downside was the wait, but it felt worth it for the overall experience. Overall: 4/5, great spot for a family brunch with hearty food and a welcoming vibe.

It took about 20 minutes for two meals and a couple extra sides, which is not too bad since I'd ordered when I walked in. Everything was wrapped and still warm by the time I made it home and it was all under $40. Overall, the food taste like a home cooked breakfast - not a lot of razzle dazzle to it but the affordability and good service (even with providing a takeout order) makes this place worth it, imo. I'd give this place another try and I plan to go sit in to enjoy breakfast and atmosphere at some point, so I'll remember to not be greedy and take pictures (lol). #SupportLocal

Apparently their specialty coffee is only served iced, so the only option is regular brew. I opted out since I can do that at home. I really enjoyed the Morning Meditation fresh squeezed juice during my last visit but this location was out of ingredients and I was unable to get it. Water it is. For my meal I ordered the Biscuits & Gravy with eggs. I love how the gravy is made with turkey sausage. As a non pork eater I struggle to find places that serve non pork gravy and was so glad they had turkey sausage based gravy that I could devour. It comes with their seasoned potatoes but based on the reviews I decided to swap for grits. The biscuits & gravy were my favorite part of the meal. I wish it came with 2 instead of a side. I got my eggs scrambled. It was ok, typical container eggs. Next time I'll try fried hard eggs so I can have a real egg. The grits... they gave me the hard part that's usually found stuck to the bottom of the pan. Some parts were regular after I scraped the hard parts out. No flavor, I definitely needed to add salt & pepper. I'll be back for sure but will probably try to get the biscuits & gravy w/o a side.

Fresh Egg - Where Diets Go to Die (Happily)…read more Our group of 4 1/2 (yes, somebody only ate half their plate because self-control showed up late ) walked into Fresh Egg thinking we were just grabbing breakfast... and walked out needing a nap and a moment of silence. Let's talk FOOD. That omelet? Fluffy like it trained at egg boot camp. Stuffed with sausage, ham, bacon, cheese basically the Avengers of breakfast. The home fries were crispy golden cubes of perfection. Not soggy. Not greasy. Just straight-up breakfast excellence. The ham slices were thick and flavorful like they meant business. That biscuit sandwich? Soft, buttery, and holding everything together like a breakfast superhero. And those cheesy grits? Creamy enough to make you emotional. Add melted cheddar and it's basically Southern comfort in a bowl. Portions? Generous. Flavor? Elite. Coffee? Flowing like we were at a caffeine convention. Now let's talk about Jonathan Jonathan delivered AMAZING service. Attentive without hovering, friendly without being forced, and on top of everything like a breakfast conductor running a delicious orchestra. Drinks stayed filled, food came out hot, and he made sure our whole crew felt taken care of. That kind of service turns a good meal into a great experience. The vibe inside? Busy, lively, happy breakfast energy everywhere. You can tell this is a spot people return to again and again. Final verdict: We came hungry. We left full. We left smiling. And yes... we'll be back. Fresh Egg you cracked the code.

This spot delivers exactly what it promises, making it a reliable choice for the area. To start, the coffee was great--hot, fresh, and strong. For my main dish, I opted for a Western omelette. It was perfectly fine, a solid choice, if not spectacular. My husband had the egg, bacon, cheese breakfast sandwich and thoroughly enjoyed it. The only reason I'm docking a star is for the side of corn muffins I ordered. They were, unfortunately, a complete letdown. They were hard, dry, and truly tasted like small stones. Even piling on the soft, fresh butter couldn't save them. However, the excellent service and the positive experience with the main dishes and coffee easily outweigh one bad side item. We had a good meal overall, and I would definitely go back again (and just skip the corn muffins next time!).
