Not a five star restaurant, but a five star chain restaurant. Came on Thanksgiving 2025. Very friendly staff. Came at 11:30am They were packed but we only had a 10 min wait and got our food within 10-15 min of ordering. Staff was very accommodating to allergies. The store up front was amazing and had reasonably priced items. Highly recommend! The only thing I didn't like was the green beans. If you don't like ham don't get these. They are cooked using some sort of ham broth.

This lady came in with her DOG stood at the table ordering food to go. So why didn't she call it in or go to the counter?? This totally grossed me out and let's not mention the health code violations.

I ordered my favorite meal from Cracker Barrel, meatloaf, sweet potato, carrots and biscuits. Everything tastes like homemade. Like all Cracker Barrel's the food is consistently delicious and the same. The restaurant is right off 95, at exit 45. Makes it convenient when you are traveling 91. Service was great and friendly . I now a fan of the brand. ,

The waitress gave the wrong coffee and never came back to check on us. She finally did but it took a long time. The food was outstandingly yumm. There was unclean chair when we sat down but looks nice around.

that is supposed to count as a whole piece of fish in the sampler.

Terrible. supposed to be two pieces of fish the overcooked nuggets are smaller than a chicken nugget

My mom and I had a taste for Cracker Barrel. My mouth was watering for a mini blueberry pancake and their fried catfish. My catfish was fried soft and perfect crunchiness on the outside. My mini blueberry pancakes, were perfect as the blueberries were sweet & tart and the balance just works with their pancake mix. I swear by Cracker Barrel pancakes, they are the best. I was not impressed with their grits. It was very soupy, good grits thick like quick sand. You need it to stick to your gut on a extremely cold day. I do adore all the old time candy. It's very nostalgic. My mom and Iove walking around and checking out all the little trinkets. It's been over two years since COVID, so be patient as service may take a bit longer. I look forward to returnig. My waitress Michelle was very kind. To all my Yelpers let's continue eating our way throughout the world. #Foodie4life.

Made the trek to this little diner to give them a try. The space is small but spacious. Lots of two seat tables and a small bench. Place is cash only, so make sure to hit up an atm before going. Servers were very attentive and friendly. Made multiple coffee refill runs. The coffee is diner coffee, functional but not great. I opted for their French toast bake special, cause I'm a sucker for a good lost bread. No ice cream, so had to do with whipped cream. Had real maple syrup at an upcharge, but could get a half sized version for cheaper. Food came out quickly, took pics and dug in. The bacon was crispy, only a couple lighter spots towards the ends. Whipped cream was from a can, functional. The actual French toast was very well done. Custardy, not very sweet but consistency was on point. Berries were good, but not very noticeable in a full bite. The syrup really helped in getting that true French toast bite of savory, sweet, and warm custardy tastiness. Needed a little more cinnamon and nutmeg in the egg soak to give it flavor throughout, and coated the fruit in sugar or lemon juice to amplify the fruit sweetness. Price wise, was pretty affordable. Everything came out to about 17 bucks which was a good price for the quality offered. As a meal, it was a rather tasty dish for the price. It knows it's a diner style place and they take the same corner cuts that diners usually take. But this makes them a very good choice for locals to get a good breakfast. So I don't trek here for their offerings, but for the area they are a great choice.

The place was packed when I got there, lots of locals all enjoying their company and their dishes. Got a seat at the counter right away, grabbed a menu and checked through their offerings. Decided on French toast with real maple syrup and biscuits and gravy. Food came out quick especially with the crowd. Everything was cooked, the French toast was okay. Not soaked enough, toasted with butter but not a lot of cinnamon in the dredge. Not great, but very functional. The biscuits and gravy were very much a northern take on the southern classic. Grands biscuits grilled on the flat top with grey goopy gravy on top. Very lackluster. The staff was very friendly, and the price was very cheap. Even with the golden delicious branded syrup upcharge the bill was only 12 dollars. Which is very affordable given the quality was not so great. As a generic diner, it does basic dishes well enough. There's not a ton of breakfast spots around, so it does well as that local greasy spoon. Doesn't need to be fancy, cause it's one of the few places in town and they are serviceable. I wouldn't drop by on my travels, but if you need cheap eats then this place will fit the bill

Mon to Sat they open at 5am. I was only 10 minutes away from 6 but I figured they look like a place I'd want to eat at anyway and fate brought me to this awesome establishment. Upon entering it's not too bright and not too dark especially for this hour. The place looks immaculately clean. It's your typical diner feel just a little more modernish with the color scheme inside. Two breakfast bars and the rest booths and tables. Round stools at the bar for seating. The waitress greeted me and I just sat at the breakfast bar. I got a a coffee to start, nice med - dark roast. Not burnt and tasted freshly made, good quality Java to wake you up. Better than Dunkin could offer lol. For my breakfast I decided on the Crazy Good Hash and a side of sausage (they offer links or patties, I love my patties so that's what I chose). First bite was just amazing. I wasn't sure what to expect .. I low key was just thinking it would be the stuff from a can like other diners use but no.. you will not get that here. It was legit fresh corned beef... griddled with hashed potatoes .. it was light and flavorful, crispy crust and soft interior. Not drowning in sodium like the can stuff. The corned beef really just melted in your mouth, so juicy and tender just like a properly cooked corned beef should taste. It was just amazing and I was completely blown away. Paired together with high quality eggs and perfectly toasted with butter toast, there was not one bite left. I couldn't stop eating it. I was almost sad with my last bite .. but I was about to explode anyway since it was a very generous portion. I'm just a glutton when it comes to good savory foods. The sausage patties were great too .. nice crispy and juicy, good flavor profile, not herby like some .. I don't like those but these were great. Please come give this place a try and go for the Crazy Good Hash and Eggs. You won't regret it.

"And there's fire on the mountain Lightening in the air…read moreGold in them hills and it's waiting for me there" (Marshall Tucker Band) Fire On the Mountain has one of the most unique menus I've ever encountered. Seriously, where else have you ever seen breakfast quesadillas, catfish and grits, cheesecake cornbread waffles, smoked brisket hash, deep fried pork ribs, catfish, mushroom, and alligator tacos, and a Puerto Rican Rice Bowl all happily living in the same menu's neighborhood? And then, the icing on the cake was our server - a charismatic and uber-friendly gent named Bromwell who lights up the room with his personality. He made my list of the five greatest servers I interacted with this year. The restaurant's location is as unusual as its menu. You'll find it occupying the front space at the Suffield Commons Senior Living Apartments! Yup, as you walk through the restaurant and out their back door, you actually enter a common space for the housing complex. The restaurant itself has two dining rooms with booths, tables, and chairs and a bar with dining room chairs. That eclectic menu is chock full of breakfast, lunch, and dinner choices with Mexican and barbecue flairs. We were there for lunch and ordered two things. The first was an enormous Cheese Quesadilla ($9.35) with pork ($3.12) on a grilled flour tortilla served with sour cream and pico. It was a thing of beauty, cut into five thick wedges loaded with smoked pork. Our second item was a Caesar Salad (Half size for $6.23) with a side of smoked brisket ($9.36). I passed on the croutons and Caesar dressing in lieu of barbecue sauce as my dressing. I gotta tell you, the brisket was GREAT, a big serving of tender and juicy smoked beef cut into four slabs that must have totaled close to a half pound. We loved everything about Fire On the Mountain and agreed that we need to return for a proper breakfast when we are out that way or making a morning airport run. PRO TIP The restrooms are located in the housing complex's common space I described earlier/ Just exit the restaurant by the door in the rear dining room, and you're just about there.

Sole server was hospitable. Lots of items were unavailable when I tried to inquire about them. Drinks were self-serve, but they did deliver food. I opted for the stuffed French toast and tried their home fries to see how they prepped them. Food came out with a little wait. Took my pics and dug in. The French toast, they did try but it was not the best. Cream cheese was as advertised, sweetened and smeared lightly between lightly dipped bread pieces which were grilled on a griddle. Lots of blueberries and a few sliced strawberries. And some powered sugar for decoration. Taste-wise was okay, but was way too bready and not enough seasoning. If I were to advise on how to fix this, make a cream cheese filling with the cool whip and cream cheese, and make it a substantial layer of filling. Macerate the strawberries, and soak the bread a bit longer so the custard can seep in. The home fries were lightly seasoned, cooked through but lacking flavor. I like my home fries to have a bit of a sear to them with crispy browned bits. I also like them to be seasoned a little heavier, or else all you get is a bland potato. Pricing was about 18.50. So not bad for the dishes I ordered. Portion was right, just the quality was lacking. As a little local diner, it fits the bill just fine. You can get eggs and omelettes and the space is nice. Just know it's very basic and you'll be just fine.

For the past few years, I've been giving it a pass... growing pains, maybe? But the food is not what it was. The succulent, juicy brisket that I used to dream of has been dry and cold for the last year or so (probably 3 or 4 visits). The burnt ends, which used to be as addictive, are now no longer made from brisket...but what seems to be cubed chuck...again, dry. Texas sausage and pulled pork are still ok, as are the sides. On top of that, they are always short staffed, and the staff that they do have is not helpful...not friendly.. Just a big NOT anymore. I haven't been to the Hartford or New Haven locations recently, but as far as Windsor is concerned, it will not be going back anytime soon. I don't mind paying the premium prices for quality food and service, but you are no longer premium. Please figure this out.
