    Steak frites - pretty tasty.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Burtons is at the better choice for upscale restaurants that are still offering casual dining and cocktails.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our reservation was right on time, and I would recommend calling ahead as they book up quickly. Our service was a bit below average, but the food was above average. The cocktails lacked a bit of creativity, but that was made up by the charming bartenders who were very attentive. We should've eaten at the bar as our server was the only downfall in a rather busy evening. He ghosted us for about 25mins between ordering and the food coming out. We would've ordered more drinks and a bottle of wine while we waited for our food but never saw him. [[HIGHLIGHT]]So they fell short on service, but the food was good and the bar was fun.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We will go again, and hope for a better server next time.

I met my girlfriend for dinner on Thursday night. We were seated quickly and greeted by the waitress. We ordered passion berry mock tails to start. They were pretty and delicious. We both opted for the fillet and crabcakes special. I have a gluten allergy and was happy to see so many gluten-free items available on the menu, including the crabcakes on the special. My fillet was cooked and seasoned perfectly. My GF had risotto instead of potato. She said it was lovely and flavorful. We both had dessert. I had the gluten-free chocolate cake and she had the Keylime pie. Both were excellent We both enjoyed our visit and I will be back. Highly recommend!.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambience, food and service were really good for a snowy day.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We went to celebrate my kids' bday with family friends. We got bread service which was delicious with 3 different dips. We also got bang bang shrimp which disappeared in a moment. For entrees we got chicken and mushroom ravioli which was the best, swordfish which was not great, papardelle pasta with meat sauce which is not my favorite. The kids got steak, ribs and chicken piccata with Alfredo which all seemed ok and less seasoned. But my drink was amazing, the blueberry hibiscus! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Overall, lovely ambience, warm service, good food.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

First time trying Burtons Bar and Grill. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Lovely place with a kitchen where everything is made from scratch and am impressive GF menu![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Server was lovely and attentive. I had the cheesesteak spring rolls. Three cheesy beefy spring rolls cooked to perfection with a side of onion straws. Perfect light meal!

What a solid choice that has absolutely amazing and efficient service with food that was 10/10! That steak was soooo good!!!! It was perfectly good the way I like it (well done) and topped with a delicious chimichurri sauce!! Them truffle fries were soooo good too!! (Imma get this dish again I swear) Side Mac & cheese was HUGE for a side and absolutely delicious! The grain bowl was a solid choice as well! Bangers around the table!

Absolutely amazing from start to finish. We chose this because of their attention to gluten-free and it did not disappoint! Everything was perfectly, a short rib grilled cheese melted in your mouth. My son enjoyed his burger. Reasonable price for an amazing meal. We will be back!

Burton's is one of those places that I've had bookmarked for a long time. We have walked by it many times while visiting Evergreen shops and the look of it, from the elegant seating, fancy people dining, to the captivating smells of delicious food draw you in. Unfortunately, that's kind of where it ended for us though. We came in for a late lunch around 2pm. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were seated right away and were really impressed by the interiors and serviceable wait staff.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] All of that is important but what does it mean when the food isn't that great? I'm guessing that maybe it's because there are so many older folks that dine here and maybe they take sodium into consideration but everything we ate was bland - I'm talking like not seasoned at all. I ordered the classic salad and added salmon, asked for it to be cooked medium and it was soooo dry and just not good. The salad was iceberg lettuce and a few tomatoes, a cheap sprinkling of cheese and maybe a piece of cucumber or two. I know that things are tough, and I guess it's reflected in the salad toppings cause I feel like I pretty much paid $26 for iceberg. (see pic) The Maxx burger was good, other than being underseasoned. My brother had asked for french fries and got green beans instead but they were quick about fixing the issue. Also, we had to wait for silverware and napkins as it wasn't on the table nor did our waitress provide it for us. The fried fish sandwich and fries was just ok, also underseasoned. Overall, given the allure of this fine restaurant, we were expecting more, especially with the pricing.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Burtons was a nice spot for a casual brunch.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My friend and I met there at 11:00am. We have similar tastes, so we both opted for the crab cake Benedict, except she ordered gluten-free bread and I had regular with greens on the side. I'm not always a fan of crab cake, but the waitress said it was lump crab, and we were both glad we went with her suggestion! It was the best crab cake Benedict I've had in a long time. It tasted fresh, lots of juicy crab and it just tasted good. We each ordered a latte (I had her add mocha to mine) and it was good. The serve was good. Our waitress was very friendly and patiently answered any questions we had. Based on my experience, I'd be willing to try lunch or dinner, and would return for the same brunch.

Had dinner here Friday night, this place is quickly becoming my wife and I favorite place. Food is super consistent and the service is great. We usually head to Glastonbury or West Hartford for a great dinner. But Burtons is very underrated choice

My third time here and it was really disappointing. I am not sure if they change the chef however my steak was burnt . I have ordered well done steak the last 2 times and it was never burnt and dry. We had a large party and the servers did their best however there was alot of complaints about the quality of the food. The mango lemonade was extra sweet and the blueberry hibiscus was weak and had an after taste. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The overall ambiance was really great. Very soft Christmas music and even though their was alot of people, it was not too loud[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] . A grear night for a birthday Celebration

I was recommend this bar and grill by a sales person in a store up other road. I could tell they genuinely loved it so I figured it was worth the try. Omg it is amazing. Really good food, amazing quality and service was great on a Thursday afternoon. Will definitely come again when I'm in the area. The warm lobster roll was top notch, better than anything I had living on cape cod for 6 years.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Nice, casual place with friendly staff and an interesting mix of cuisine on the menu.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We came in for a late lunch and enjoyed our meal. Our son ordered a Shirley temple, and the waitress included 3 maraschino cherries! Starting with a surprisingly impressive bread plate that came with pesto olive oil, whipped rosemary butter and olive tapenade. The bread came out freshly made and warm- crisp on the outside and soft in the middle. Very good! Free bread refills too! The Maxx burger was "unbelievable "our 16 year old said. The Beet tower salad was quite nice with goat cheese and carmelized onions. The Fish sandwich was thinly battered but extra crispy. It had pickled onions and pickles which made it tangy and crunchy. The Veggie burger with special sauce had a little zip to it and the bun was freshly made. The burgers and fish sandwich all came with fries and we tried both the truffle and regular fries which were crispy and well seasoned. Overall, this is a good place for a tasty, hearty meal.

Ambience: they have a spacious contemporary dining room and a separate bar section complete with TV screens all over the place. Food: we ordered: Calamari - the portion size was average, but the squid pieces were small in size. 4/5 Pastrami Reuben - this was a bit too salty and oily. 2/5 Dry Age Burger - this was really good. The funkiness of the dry age flavor came through. The burger was moist and hit the spot. 5/5 Onion Rings - 4 jumbo fried rings of oniony goodness. 5/5 Service: super friendly and nice.

The ambiance was bright and lively (complete with a hearty crowd watching the England vs. France World Cup match), and our hostess was kind, welcoming, and sat us quickly with a smile. Our waitress was great. She noted to us that she was new and training, but you would have never known as she was extremely attentive, thorough, helpful, and knowledgeable about the menu and offerings. Our food arrived quickly, and each meal was cooked exactly as ordered. We had two Return of the Mac burgers - which were thoroughly enjoyed, a French Onion Soup that was delicious, a French Dip that was tremendous, a wonderful Southwest Salad, and I had the Teriyaki Bowl that was also outstanding. The price for our dinner for 6 was more than reasonable, and we received a great deal of value for the cost. Our waitress was also extremely helpful in helping us bag up our leftovers as most of our eyes were bigger than our stomachs, having filled up on popcorn at the movies. :) In all, a great experience....Service, value, food all combined to provide a great end to our family night. We will definitely return.

We got hamachi crudo and I don't know if the supplier of fruit is in cahoots with la Croix but I've never had a slice of citrus taste so bland. The dish was in desperate need of some acidity. Foie was great, I think the only plate aside from the halibut that didn't need any tweaking. We also got the pour over and over as our first drink -- I am fascinated how a cocktail can be both an espresso martini and not at the same time. I wanted to love it, then I saw it and wanted to hate it - then was left feeling perplexed and intrigued by the experience. I think that's a good way to describe the evening, perplexing and intriguing and I'm not sure how to feel but I do not think I will be back for anything other than cocktails because it is frankly a waste of time and money. The place itself is pretty and very Instagramable. The service was fine. You have to put in your entire order at once because that's what the chef prefers which feels a tad pretentious to me -- kind of the vibe of the whole place. Two key words as a takeaway: overpriced and underwhelming.

It's decent food but not the greatest. I get it, it's fine dining but not all the flavors were there. Three of us paid almost $800, so, yes, I was expecting to be blown away with my tastebuds in overdrive but my tastebuds were underwhelmed. Started off with canapés: east coast oysters (green grape granita); could've used sprinkle of salt. Beef tartar (green garlic kimchi aioli, lime, mint, anchovy breadcrumbs); needed more salt, very bland with little flavor & carrot veloute (coconut milk, red curry, cilantro, peanuts), very delicious and flavorful. 1st course: Hamachi Crudo (celery, sorrel, green apple), needed salt. 2nd course: Foie Gras Torchon (black mission fig, five spice, brioche bun). Brioche was extremely dry and cold, not buttery and soft like a brioche should be. 3rd course: Mackerel (thompcord grape, lardo, smoked yogurt); extremely fishy and unpleasant. Grapes were sweet and delicious and smoked yogurt and lardo didn't contribute anything great. 4th course: Chestnut Tortellini (browned sage butter) was great! 5th course: Dry Aged Rohan Duck Presse (beet, huckleberry, port jus) was underwhelming. Breast was cooked to right temperature but skin was super fatty and soggy. As an avid duck eater, I think a crispy skin and more seasoning in the actually meat would've been nice. It needed salt for sure to enhance the flavors but the roasted and pickled beets were delicious. The port just didn't do much for flavor and huckleberry was delicious and could've used more of it. 6th course: A5 Wagyu Ribeye (roasted daikon, black garlic bordelaise, hen of woods) very delicious in every aspect. The black garlic bordelaise brought this entire dish together with its incredible flavor! I wish the bordelaise was served with the duck as well! 7th course: Foie Gras Ice Cream & Apple Tarte. Interesting ice cream flavor by itself but eaten with the apple tarte it worked well. The tarte had crispy bits of caramel that added great texture and flavor. Ambiance is beautiful on the 20th floor overlooking Hartford. I'm sure it's beautiful during sunset. Again, I wish I was blown away like others have been. Maybe my expectations are too high, I'm not sure. I'm neutral as I am unsure if I would recommend this establishment. I do know that I wouldn't return.
