Love the restaurant in general but this experience was bad enough for me to have to post. We have literally been sitting for 25 minutes and have not even been greeted and had a manager look at our table 5 times and still nothing. They also left corn and all kinds of food in the high chair they gave for my baby and did not bother to clean up the mess underneath the table. I will be leaving now and hoping for better on my next trip in but I can't reward this with my business. I will be going to Another place instead. Thank you. read more

This was the worst experience we've ever had at a Cracker Barrel. We went to this location because the website stated there was only a 5-10 minute wait vs. 25-30 at other nearby locations. We informed the host and our waitress that we needed a child seat. We inquired two more times before finally going and getting our own child seat. The lady who asked for our drink order, said she wasn't our waitress, then later turned out to be our waitress. The restaurant is literally half full due to Covid and staff walking around everywhere, and everything still took twice as long as it normally does. After we had placed our order, another waitress came by and said she'd be right over to take our order, and we never saw her again anywhere on the floor, so thank god she wasn't our real waitress. We waited a half an hour for our food to come out, and with the amount of patrons there at the time, that's pretty inexcusable. We did get a ridiculous amount of biscuits though, which our waitress kept bringing, and I'm not really sure why, because there were still uneaten biscuits sitting there. We won't ever come back to this location, and I can't even imagine what a nightmare it is there when it's actually busy. read more

Horrible visit! We were first seated at a dirty table. Food crumbs all over the table and a very dirty floor covered with food and crayons ...had to ask it to be cleaned and they moved us to another dirty table. They had to. Lean the top of the table and the floor...food was very poor! Cold and slow. The French toast was just toast slapped on the grill. The hostess was HORRIBLE!!! She could care less. LOVE Cracker Barrel. This place is hit or miss when it comes to service though. Sometimes they take a while to come to your table or once the food has been brought out you never see them again. My family and I always visit this location since it's very close to our home. Lately I noticed the food has not been as fresh as the past years. This time has really done it for me. I ordered the meatloaf green beans and mash potatoes. The server was nice, he was kind and quick. When he brought my food and sat it down, I instantly noticed a long piece of blonde hair sitting right on top of my meat loaf. This was absolutely disgusting! What made it worse was I knew it was his hair but he definitely wasn't going to say that. He apologized and apologized and apologized. He brought back another plate and honestly my appetite was already ruined. I didn't want to complain to the manager because I didn't want to get him in trouble but he knew I wasn't a happy customer at all. My dad and brother enjoyed their meal I must say. I was at this store twice last week. The fried chicken I had for dinner was good, although I was served two thighs apparently in place of a breast and a thigh. The sides were skimpy, cold and not very good. Especially the hash brown casserole was dry and has gone way downhill from a year or so ago. My breakfast experience was worse. $13 including tax and tip for two small, overcooked eggs and two small slices of dry, flavorless turkey sausage. I guess guests are expected to fill up on the grits and mediocre biscuits. Even IHOP serves much better food for less money. Too bad, because I used to think Cracker Barrel was a decent choice for this kind of diner style food. read more

Cracker Barrel has fixed the problems that they used to have with carry outs. I wanted chicken and dumplings and I don't cook things that take over 30 minutes to make, at least not after working all day. But my father didn't want to go out to a restaurant so I resigned myself to experiencing carry out ordering purgatory again. But they now have an easy-to-use online ordering system that is really easy to use. So I didn't have to worry about my hearing loss and the lack of comprehension of the person taking the order. The estimated time to pickup is much more accurate online than it was coming from the order taker over the phone, and they check the order in front of you to ensure that you are getting everything that you paid for. 100% improvement, and now I can see me eating Cracker Barrel carry out more often. read more

Tuesday June 12th we had a party of 16+ we chose to go to Cracker Barrel for our Church monthly Senior Lunch. Of course we knew reservations weren't accepted but we called to provide a heads up for their unexpected planning. We were seated in a semi closed off area next to the emergency exit. They stuffed the room so full of other customers that our waitress could not put our meals in front of us but passed it down from the end of the table. The food came out COLD, we DIDN'T get our biscuits and refills were out of the question because there was no communication with the waitress. We usually have a good meal and experience here in Forest Park. Today it took 10 minutes to get a waitress; I watched 2 parties who were standing in line behind us get their drinks and place their order. It took 45 minutes total from sitting down to get our meal. THE MOST redeeming part of the meal was our waitress ANGIE who was bustin' her butt waiting on customers; the second redeeming quality was the manager profusely apologized to us when we asked to speak to him, and he said 45 min was certainly way too long to wait and he comped us our meal. Horrid. We were acknowledged by the hostess but she was incredibly slow. We waited about 5 minutes while she gathered menus and kid menus/activity papers. We were seated in a cramped section. The waitress asked for our drink orders while we waited for my in-laws, she never brought ours out until my in-laws arrived and gave their drink orders, then we waited again. Waiting for our food to come out was about 20 minutes, I walked my kids to the restroom while we waited. When we returned another family was seated next to us and it left no room for us to be able to sit down without my husband standing up and us squeeze into our seats. The guy behind me kept slamming the back of his chair into mine the entire time. I had very little space to be comfortable and it is quite a challenge to eat while someone is hitting your back several times per minute. The waitress brought out the food, we was missing one of the two kids entrees we ordered, she brought out 3 coleslaws that no one ordered. No butter for biscuits and corn bread. My food was room temperature at best and the kid entree was hard pancakes that I had to saw through with a knife but they were able to share so we didn't have to wait another 20 minutes for the other kid's meal of pancakes. The waitress didn't refill drinks unless asked, she put my mom-in-laws coffee on the edge of the table knowing she was near the end and everyone on that side would have to pass it to her. The music was very loud, this made for awkward conversations of having to yell at one another. The entire hour we was there, the waitress came by the table one time to check on us. We are on a schedule and wasted time coming here because we don't have time to stay and eat. For breakfast I had biscuits and gravy that was wonderful and my husband had blueberry pancakes that looked delicious. The blueberry pancakes were loaded with blueberries. Usually, I have a great experience at this location, but this time not so much. Granted we had a server with only one star on his apron, we still had to wait 10mins for him to bring one drink out of the two that we asked for. He came to the table and asked what she wanted to drink after brining me mine and forgetting hers. Everytime we asked for something it took a very long time. On top of all that, the food came out ice cold and again, had a long wait for the food to come out and nearly just as long of a wait for the condiments we asked for. With the above details our visit months ago was supposed to be addressed by a (simple) courtesy coupon(s) as originally offered. Understand that I was calling for reasons of improvement for your ICON business. You're apparently suffering from good 'ole hardworkers and quality products. Our entire table suffered from rock hard biscuits; late and cold center meat-loaf; scant few chicken pieces in the gooey dumplin's; Promise, our first server took forever for everything, including napkins!; the manager wasn't available to us... several more details... On behalf of all of us 6 senior citizens, I called on 4/6/22 and Manager Alicia was rough on me and yet assured me she'd courtesy mail me 6 coupons, not just for me as we were scheduling a return shuttle visit; when I called back on 4/22/22 and spoke to Manager Christopher... he unfriendly-like hemmed and hawed about it's 'up to Alicia' and then said she 'DID send it' and insinuated I was asking for another batch of free food!!; I still never received a call back or coupons... I called for those managers again on 05/13 & 14 - ignored further; called 800 # to your corporate 1/2 hour hold/no contact on 08/03/22... and numerous other times I haven't noted to myself... Today I'm finally online and able to write this out, so someone who MIGHT Care would pay attention to your downfall of Yummy Food and Happy Atmosphere with rocking chair, checkers and beautiful store features. I come to Cracker Barrel a lot because I love the atmosphere and coffee. Typically I'm not a fan of the service but today I had Erik Q as my server and he was fantastic. He checked back on my daughter and I multiple times and always was sure we had everything we needed. He was also very kind. Next time I come I will certainly be requesting him for my server. read more

The last two times eating here were horrible. Service has been terrible. Server didn't check on us after we ordered. We would have to flag her down for everything. The food was ok. Fried items were was to greasy. The portions have been cut so far they aren't worth the high prices. I love Friday fish fry but the small amount of fish is horrible. It's not worth the gas to go any more. They still charge up charges for a baked potatoes. $2.00. You can buy 3-5 pounds for that. read more

Dined here Tuesday evening 11/23 around 5:30pm. The hostess and server were both very nice. I ordered breakfast and was told they were out of hash browns but had tater tot style potatoes instead which I said was fine. When the food was served there was no tater tots and two small bowls of what appeared to be gravy and something else. The server tells me they were also out of tater tots and so she changed my breakfast to another meal and brought me biscuits and gravy and grits. I guess give her an A for effort in trying to make it right but I would have preferred being told they were out and given the chance to select something else. I do not like grits and also not a fan of the gravy. The bacon strips were very good and the eggs were good but could have been hotter. My dinner companion ordered the chicken dinner. Her chicken was not good, the breading was chewy and not crispy. Overall not a good food experience. Purchased some fudge from the general store and it was pretty bland, definitely lacking flavor. Doubtful I would recommend or return here to eat. read more

Ever since Ohio instated the no smoking ban, this place just isn't the same. Used to be that there was a smoking section and a smoggy less smoking section. Even considering this was Mothers Day this restaurant really missed the mark. We went on a 35 minute waiting list(no problem there) and 1 hour later of name for party of 5 gets called. We stand up by hostess table waiting to get seated when the hostess finally asks our name. After we tell her she looks at the seating list then goes and talks to another employee. When she returns we are informed that our table was accidentally given to another party and we would have to wait for the next opening. 20 minutes later we get seated. Our server was a pleasant gentleman but extremely incompetent. He had a hard time taking our orders. 25 minutes later he came back to the table and informed us that somehow most of our order had not made it into the system but that my steak was just getting put onto the grill. I will pause here to say the food, once we finally got it, was quite good. On the way out the door I spoke with the manager about what had happened. He confided in me that our server was indeed a liability. Really?? And you let him loose on the floor knowing that? I think I shall not return to the Forest Park Cracker Barrel again. read more
