Twenty minutes waiting before someone asked if anyone had been there to help us. Crispy Fried Chicken was 1/3 breading and overly crispy. Mashed potatoes were lumpy and cold. Coleslaw was tasteless. The fried apples had black spots inside the slices. Server was terrific and running hard between tables. She was so busy we didn't want to complain and wait for fresh food. We were running out of time. The cashier asked how was everything and we told her just as written above. She just said sorry to hear that. On Tuesday 2/10, I met a friend here for breakfast. We both ordered their Momas Breakfast plus and an order of their biscuits that for me if the best part of the Cracker Barrel breakfast. We also had regular coffee to drink. Our server was Natalie who is outstanding, courteous and prompt. The food was delicious. I have pets at home and I understand that business have to comply with service animals. However customers abuse and take any small dog that is not a service animal and businesses let them get away with that. One woman sitting by the window had a small dog in a stroller and the whole time there she was feeding it. That is gross and management needs to stop that practice! The service at this place is a joke! We came here a couple weeks ago and were sat down and never saw our server till after our food was brought to our table. We waited 15 minutes before manager came and asked us if we had been served then another girl brought our drinks took our order and another girl brought our food. It was horrible. Today decided to go give them a try again and same thing no one came to sit us down the manager had to call someone then no one came for over 10 minutes then finally someone who was not our waiter brought us water and we ordered from whomever brought out water and then our waiter came and told us they were out of meat loaf so we ordered two salads then 10 minutes later he comes to tell us it will be an up charge for extra egg. read more

WORST BREAKFAST IN AMERICA right here. Wow this has to be the biggest JOKE of a restaurant I have been in quite some time. I travel the world and eat breakfast all over. I ordered breakfast at this place and holy moly. So.....just look at picks the hash browns are a 3 dollar upgrade. Look at this portion and look at the eggs. I mean I've never seen this. The hash brown amount is UNREAL. The eggs are like one egg beaten. The manager came out and just had a total attitude. June 10, 2025 terrible service. Let's discuss: Our food finally made it to the table 35 minutes after we ordered it on a definitely not busy Tuesday afternoon at approximately 1:35pm. Our waitress Meli D. brought our food out. Rating Reasons: 1) Meli brought us our drink order first. One water, one coke, and one mimosa. The mimosa glass had what looked like fingerprints and water spots. Meli apologized and said I'll place it in another glass. She took the mimosa and brought it back, grabbing the glass at its rim saying "it was water spots". No, the world didn't end, but, eh, you know, you don't place your fingers around the mouth of the glass. Further, you're not busy, and when you're not busy ,you may want to wipe those glasses. As a retired business manager, when I used to see employees standing about, I'd always tell them 'there's always something to do.' It's still true. 2) After waiting for 15 minutes we asked if the food was close to coming, and Meli responded "I don't know what's going on in that kitchen", paused and then said, "yes." 3) Then, 5 minutes later we asked, "could we at least get the muffins and biscuits so we can have something?" "After all we've been waiting awhile." Meli stated, "the customer normally asks us to bring them." I kept my cool, but I thought: Really? We've now been sitting here for 20 minutes and you didn't offer? Just left us here sitting for 20 minutes, no word, no checking on your customers?! You didn't ask "if there's anything I can do or bring for you?" during this long wait? 11 minutes later, our food came out, 2:11pm. I waived to what seemed like a manager scanning the floor, but I missed his gaze. Then it appeared another manager came out to meet and greet customers, but no one to address a more than 30 minute wait? No one asked how was our meal and service. But we heard those queries put toward others. The food was good, but not the best, our IHOP breakfast the day before was seasoned better, especially the hash browns and they had a better texture. My other friend did enjoy his beef campfire meal. The chicken fried pork chops were just okay having more salt than flavor. During our wait we purchased additional items from the store and another item upon leaving. This concluded our experience here at the Las Cruces, New México store located at 1409 Hickory Drive. read more

We are driving home to Texas and we were in a bit of a hurry. We were at Cracker Barrel for an hour & a half because our server (Waylon) was so slow. Worst Cracker Barrel I have ever been to. First, we ordered the southern fried chicken. About 10 minutes later the waiter came back and told us they were out of chicken. Half the menu is chicken. We ordered shrimp which was good. The hash brown casserole was not up to standards that I've had at other locations. The waiter told us he would give us a free dessert as an apology for them being out of chicken. We chose the chocolate Coca-Cola cake and took it to go. When we got back to our hotel, we opened it up and it was mostly icing. The icing was actually good. What cake there was, was very dry. We had two bites and threw the rest out. Service was subpar although the waiter was pleasant. Very long time to get our food and below average service from the waiter. The restaurant was half full. Very disappointing as I have never had a bad meal at any other Cracker Barrel. A suggestion to Cracker Barrel management. First, keep your original logo. Tonight Cracker Barrel was epic. The food was on point. We enjoyed the Roast Beef Meal with carrots, mashed potatoes, and Mac and cheese, the country fried steak with Mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, and fried okra as well as a child's Mac and cheese. Elena G., the best server I have had in a long time, brought plenty of bread, she watched our drinks carefully and treated us awesome!!! My last visit to Cracker Barrel was such a train wreck I didn't review. Honestly, I didn't want to eat here tonight because of my last visit. I am so glad I gave them another chance. We waited over 40 mins and their reasoning was they were down cooks, but the kicker was they kept telling us our food was next, Our food was next to come out, which means it was supposed to be fresh off the grill. Had to have a delicious home-cooked meal on my way from Tucson to Norman Oklahoma and stopped in Las Cruces for both human and automobile 'fuel'. It's always a great day when you can enjoy a home-cooked meal to refuel your energy for a road trip. I walked in, sat down and had a meal I've never had before which was two rainbow trout fillets. The meal came out in less than four minutes hot and served with by absolutely stellar waitress. Nothing but praise at this location. Bathrooms are clean and the cashier recognized my military retirement hat and thanked me for my service (I never asked for a military discount and didn't receive one, just thought the comment was a nice personal touch!) I went to Cracker Barrel tonight with my family of four. Order drinks and food. We waited 30 minutes for our food. Finally the server brings out a baked potato for my son, nothing else. He proceeds to bring food to 2 other tables that arrived and ordered after us. When we asked when our food would be coming out his response was "your food is in the thing, I will go get it". After another 10 minutes of no food other than the lonely single baked potato and watching our waiter continue to offer everyone around us refills on drinks we left. Last time we were here (7 months ago) it was great! So on our way to Arizona from Texas, we were excited to stop back in since this was one of the best experiences we had at any Cracker Barrel. Unfortunately, whatever happened since the last visit was not for the better. After being seated, our waiter arrived shortly after and took our drink orders. No rolls brought to the table, but we figured maybe just an oversight. After receiving our drinks and placing our order, we waited. And waited. You get the idea. We watched as table after table left, and around the 40 minute mark after placing our order, our food arrived! Unfortunately, it was not worth the wait. My food was room temperature. When I ordered, the waiter asked what sides I wanted (it wasn't listed on the menu, I had the dinner menu and the breakfast sides aren't listed, even though breakfast is and it is served all day). so I asked what were the choices. After hearing our waiter list my options I chose the pancakes. Our waiter didn't mention that would be an additional charge. The pancakes were slightly overcooked btw, having a slight burnt taste and were visibly dark. Also missing was the biscuits and gravy. I mentioned this to the waiter after we were almost finished since he hadn't returned after bringing the food. He apologized and brought the missing dish quickly. The gravy tasted like water and flour mixed, and was not hot but slightly warmer than room temperature. Overall, a huge disappointment. On our last trip after our initial evening visit, we came back the next day for breakfast and again on the way back a week later for both dinner and breakfast. Family favorite! Love the atmosphere. Clean, orderly, roomy. Huge menu selection. We like eating here because of the very reasonable prices and it feels like a home cooked meal. This location is a tad bit hard to find, but with it. We arrived around 4:15pm on a Friday so there weren't too many people here...yet. Parking is plentiful and easy even if you have an RV. Each store has a very cute "country store" gift shop. Nice selection of toys, clothing, knickknacks, etc. Service was prompt and friendly. I ordered the new bbq cheeseburger. The bun was ice cold. It had a small amount of BBQ sauce right in the middle of the bun with cold onion strings. The burger patty was well done and I ordered it medium. I Returned it and ordered the sampler plate instead which included meatloaf, a chicken tender, and chicken and dumplings. It sucked too. The meatloaf was dry, tasted old and had no gravy on it. The chicken and dumplings were gross, no flavor, slimy and pasty. My husband ordered the fried chicken dinner which was tasty and saved the meal. I shared it with him. They are also getting really tight with the cornbread and biscuits. They no longer give the table plenty. They only give you two. Either two biscuits or one of each only if included with your meal. If you want more, you will be charged for them. Service was OK. We spoke with the Manager and she said sorry about the meal and only offered a dessert and to take the meal off the check. I said no to the dessert. The manager didn't offer more biscuits. So sad! We would normally come to this establishment for a nice breakfast, but no more. This place has gone to crap not worth the money you would spend. (Go to McDonalds). All the food was luke warm and for some reason they say the are short on butter knifes so we didn't get one and our server said she didn't know it would be an issue I guess it's normal to cut your biscuits with a fork or spoon and spread your butter and jam with the same. This was not our first time at this location and have always been happy with our meal, however on Tuesday, Jan 7 2024 we were very disappointed. We ordered ham, eggs, hashbrowns, apple side dish and the beignets. So, for the good stuff. The ham was presented with 2 large pieces and was excellent. The beignets were sweet and tasty and the apple side dish had just the right amount of spice. Our server was friendly. The bad news...my husband had dirty silverware and had to go up to find someone to exchange for a clean set. A server took his silverware and didn't return! After 4-5 minutes he found someone who could get him a new set. Unacceptable! Our eggs, hashbrowns and biscuits were lukewarm at best. Will we come back? Not for a long time. Usually Cracker Barrel is our go to breakfast on the road. This location was a big disappointment. They only had decaf hot tea. Both our meals came out lukewarm at best. Husband had biscuit breakfast. Butter served was rock hard. His grits were watery. I had two eggs with bacon, biscuits, and fruit. Fruit was marginal. Eggs were done correctly but lukewarm. This is the second time I've been to Cracker Barrel and I've had horrible service, We had terrible service, our server had came and asked us what we needed and continuously kept forgetting our table and hadn't come back to serve what we needed. Other tables around us had gotten more service and their food before our table when we had been waiting for a while. We were not rude or argumentative at all and when we had asked our server for something politely she had shook her head with disdain and attitude. After more than an hour of waiting we had received our food, our food had come out on dirty plates with purple markings and some of our food was cold while other parts were hot. I have been to Cracker Barrel's all over the country. This is by far the worst one I've ever been to. The bathrooms were absolutely filthy and no toilet paper. When the food came out, it was lukewarm at best. Service was good. The surprising part is I was there right after they open and there were three customers. I would've expected the food to have been hot. I certainly will not be go back to this Cracker Barrel again. read more
