Chicken tenders, Hashbrown Casserole Tots, broccoli
    Heather D.

I'll start off saying that I do not typically eat at this restaurant. This is only my third visit in my entire life. I was in Lima to pick up a Sam's order and wanted some chicken tenders. The ads for this restaurant looked delicious and I decided I needed to give them a try. It's been more than ten years since I last tried the restaurant. I placed my order online and there was about a 40 minute wait. I got there early and wondered the store. Every time a customer came to pay, the cashier asked how everything was and every response was the food was slow and it was cold. The cashier kept stating they were busy and apologized. The parking lot wasn't even half full so the comment about busy was surprising. They definitely do a steady busy. My pick up time came and went. My food was brought out 2 minutes after it was supposed to be ready. I don't mind waiting for fresh food. This was not fresh or hot. I took it directly to my car because I had an hour drive ahead of me and I planned to wait on the way. Nothing even came close to being like warm. The chicken tenders were soggy and cold, cold. The tater tot hashbrowns were cold and horrible. I was really taken by surprise by how cold the food was. The first picture is the food I bought and the second is what I threw away. It was just terrible. I can't imagine that I'll ever go back again. Why the cold food? I figured I could eat the chicken tenders cold but they left a film in my mouth. The Cole slaw may have been fine but I tried it after eating a chicken tender and that could have distorted the taste. Overall, a terrible experience.

So I've just spent $15 for plate of dough and hash brown casserole sides. The TINIEST PIECE of chicken in my pile of dumplings. As in a piece about an inch in diameter. Shameful!!! Got a carry out order and had walked from a nearby hotel as I often stay in the area. After 40 minutes of waiting to get basically nothing, I didn't have the effort to walk back a 2nd time, and wait probably another 30-40 minutes. Gonna make it very tough to consider giving them my business in the future. Seems to be this location that has issues regularly. Sad as I LOVE Cracker Barrel.

Yes! On a bitter cold, snowy morning I ask for the "warmest seat available" and I got the closest table to the fireplace! Perfect!

Wow! What a disappointing visit. Our last three visits have been horrendous. New and incompetent staff (waitresses). Our food took forever. Literally a family of 5 (different waitress) ordered their food at the same time as us and had finished their meals before ours came out! Quality of the meal was poor. Bacon not cooked crispy as ordered and my scrambled eggs were runny (nearly gooey raw) as were my husbands. Refills were given by another waitress seeing my husband without a drink (bless her heart). We are finished! It was our favorite place however the Lima CB has went downhill staffing wise (not only on the floor but apparently in the kitchen as well).

Eggs, hash browns casserole with cheese and bacon, ham and sausage

Came to Cracker Barrel a while back because... well i missed Cracker Barrel. I used to live 15 minutes away from one down in Florida, now it takes me over an hour to get one while in Ohio. Still, its worth the trip. I absolutely love their food! Especially their chicken and breakfast dishes. The menu changed from the last time i went to a Cracker Barrel which was pre-pandemic. My family and i came together. My brother got this huge burger... with cheese, eggs, and bacon. My mother got a breakfast with pancakes, eggs, ham, sausage and bacon. She also got some biscuits with sawmill gravy as well. I got a breakfast that had pancakes, eggs, chicken tenders, bacon, grits and hash brown casserole. I gotta say, i love any place that makes some good grits. The food was delicious! After eating, my family went around and did some shopping at their store. What i love about any cracker barrel store besides their food is their store. Plenty of items for sale including home decor, candles, candy, craft sodas, and music. I have bought all of the above before and that day was no exception as i bought some candles, candy and craft soda to take home. Love Cracker Barrel in general, and this particular store is no exception.

The atmosphere and the place itself were quite nice to someone who has never been here before. The biggest disappointment was the food. The pancakes were more butter than anything else and it just all tasted very average or maybe even below average. For the price point, it's what you would expect, nothing too good, nothing too bad.Our waitress was okay although it seemed like she wasn't too familiar with the menu and missed a few things. All in all, I would not frequent this location again.

    Ruthie!! Great waitress!

My nieces took me here for my birthday (my request) breakfast! The hostess was sick and the rest of the staff was picking up the slack! The food was great! Our waitress Ruthie (who had come in on her day off to help) was fantastic! She was still friendly even though she was busy. She didn't just give us our food and drop the bill like so many do!! She even got me a birthday treat! I asked to take a picture cause she was fun and I'm attaching her goofy one!! Great day!! Store was clean.

The Met has a policy that your server gets to proudly wear a crown if their name is mentioned in a five star review. Love that policy!! Wear it proudly Ashely!! The Met is a unique building downtown Lima. It was built in the late 1880's and was originally home to the The Metropolitan Bank. It has since been morphed into a restaurant with very attractive original features. The wood floors and plaster ceilings...along with the attractive decor really enhance the dinning experience! The team here is very friendly, professional and welcoming. Ashley was outstanding. She hustled, knew her menu and had great recommendations. Ashley was very attentive and helped us enjoy the evening. I appreciated Liz stopping by and welcoming us. Liz shared lots of history and helped us appreciate the facility. The Met has a large food menu that has something for everyone. They have a large selection of beverages and specialty cocktails. All at reasonable prices. We started with a couple of Mule drinks. One was a designer St. Patrick's Day Mule and their specialty Met Mule. Both were very tasty, cool and refreshing . We started with the Focaccia bread appetizer. It had a lightly golden/chewing top with a soft and moist inside. Liz said that they make the bread fresh three times a day. The bread had a slight olive oil taste with a mild amount of Italian herbs. The soft whipped butter was a nice add. The side salad had lots of fresh spring greens. There was a few tasty tomatoes and lots of stronger tasting onions. The thin Parmesan cheese shreds were an excellent touch. The house ranch dressing was very smooth/light/creamy moderately thin with a mild ranch taste. My wife had the chicken bacon ranch flatbread. The crust was thin and crispy. She really liked the ranch house made sauce and how it accented the meat toppings. I had the Met Meatloaf which had an outstanding meat flavor. The meat was made with Italian sausage which had a slightly spicy kick. It was moist and tender to go along the beefy taste. The smooth red sauce on top was slightly sweet & spicy. It accented the meat nicely. The mashed potatoes were real with lumps, eyes and minute peel pieces. Very smooth and delicious! The grilled asparagus had a slight crisp to go along with the tender stalk. Not much seasoning detected...just a nice olive oil taste. Overall a fantastic dinner experience. We sat street level and watched the pedestrians come & go while enjoying the decor of this unique facility! The menu is large and the food and drinks are outstanding. A special trip to The Met in downtown Lima is worth a try!

Metered parking on the street and there was a free lot but it was full. Meters were $2 for two hours. Nice staff and there were no staff shortages! Lilly our server was perfect. If we pass through again we will stop in! The bar area is exquisite.

The people working there have never been served by Trump or the right wing agenda, and no one else appeared to be watching the those tvs. It makes no sense why they would have Fox News up anywhere in their establishment. Our server was nice, yet even though the bar was less than 25% capacity, it took 15 minutes to get an overpriced Old Fashioned which was not made correctly. It was far too sweet, had some sort of 7up-like soda in it, and we couldn't even taste any rye bourbon in them. There was too much ice in the glass and the cherries were the cheapest of the cheap. None of the other drinks available looked enticing, especially after that drink. The fried pickles were delicious and I also ordered a PBJ burger. The burger was well done even though I asked for medium rare. The overall taste was very yummy only because there was so much jelly and oily peanut butter to assist the dry overdone burger. The sidewinders were well flavored but could have been double fried to be slightly crispier. Partner also ordered a burger and typically prefers medium well done. Even they thought their burger was too overdone and dry. The floors were sticky and the place smelled like pinesol which was distracting from the food. Even though it smelled like cleaning products, the place felt dirty and sticky, not somewhere I would like to eat. I appreciate the divey, live music in the corner sports bar vibe, but the management and organization seemed off here, like a weird awkward silence. I wouldn't come back unless they make their drink game more professional, there was a very good special on beers, or a particular band I would enjoy seeing here.

Our absolute favorite has been the Burgers & Brew night on Wednesdays and Thursdays, specifically since they rolled out the smash burgers a few months back. They are easily some of the best in the area. The tabletop adverts and menus clearly state "$9.99 ANY Burger." Now, we're reasonable people. When we order the Double Smash, it usually rings up around $12.99 or $13.99. Even though the ad explicitly says "ANY" burger, we never complained about paying a few bucks extra for the double patty because it made sense. But last Thursday was a completely different story. When the bill came, both of our double smash burgers were charged at the full regular menu price of $16.99 each. When I questioned our waitress about it, she casually told me, "Yes, the doubles are always regular price and aren't included in the special." Excuse me? This "little side note" is absolutely nowhere on the menu, the flyers, or the Burger & Brew adverts sitting right on the tables. The ad literally says "ANY burger." We weren't even expecting to get them for $9.99--we just expected the $12.99-$13.99 upcharge we've been paying for months! To completely pull the special out from under us with zero warning or menu notation is just sneaky. It's incredibly frustrating to get nickeled and dimed when you're loyal customers. Out of principle, this bait-and-switch pricing left such a bad taste in our mouths that our weekly visits are officially over. Plenty of other places in the area value their regulars more than this. P.S. We didn't just rush to blast them online, either. We tried contacting their customer service message system through both the app and the website on three separate occasions. Every single time, we got an automated response promising someone would get back to us within 3 days. It's now been 8 days. Dead silence. Incredible "customer service."

The staff and regulars numbered five and were bantering about nothing at high decibel. I sat at the bar and grabbed a menu. It is a perfectly useful, simple, no-frills list of food and prices. The bartender/waitress was a tad slow to engage this newcomer, but finally got around to taking my order and delivering a glass of water. My second impression? Still dark. The BPTS arrived after the usual wait and was hot from the fryer. It comes with nothing, but the usual garnishes are available for an up-charge that seems a tad rich. $1 for a slice of winter tomato? Pass. $1 for a slice of cheese? Pass. $1 for a slice of onion? Pass. The bun was fresh and the pickle spear was beginning to trend from crisp and crunchy towards a hint of limp. I enjoyed the porky goodness and flashbacks to my childhood BPTS memories. Will I return? Probably. I hope that the kitchen will do breakfast-for-lunch. I am also curious about their hamburger ... $3.50, but the double hamburger is more than 2x the regular burger. What's with that?
