This location gets a "C" on all around service. The food is just OK, but for some reason doesn't match up on quality compared to other Cracker Barrel's I've eaten at. Flavor is off on what seems to be everything I've had. Hash brown casserole, Mac and Cheese, Country fried steak, and Chicken and dumplings. It's just meh. I have been to this location in Lima several times as it is convenient to the nearby hotel, and each time the same results. Staff is friendly, and professional. Once a year might be too much! Traveling so stopped at a diner yesterday, which is my fave, then, today decided on Cracker Barrel. Big disappointment from the start. When we were greeted, if you can call it that, I felt like she didn't wanna be there and was just going through the motions. Once seated with our menu, our server came and took our drink order. Shortly after we placed our order and so far, it was fine. It did take a while for the food to come out, and the restaurant wasn't that busy. My wife got mama's breakfast, which came out OK with chocolate chip pancakes and scrambled eggs. The bacon was somewhat undercooked. I had the Cracker Barrel Boy breakfast. This came with two sides along with an order of biscuits and gravy. For the sides I got grits and hash brown casserole. When our meals come out, he gave me a side of apples, no biscuits and gravy and no casserole. At this point, my coffee was empty as well. Once he returned, we ask him about the casserole and replied he would go back and get it. At that point, I forgot about the biscuits and gravy. So when he came back out, we ask about that too, and he told us that they ran out of biscuits and we're making them. A little more time went by and then ask about the casserole again. At this point, my meal was nearly half gone. He told me they ran out of the casserole and we're making it. I finally got my biscuits and gravy and I could tell the biscuits were fresh. When the casserole came out, it was not hot so I knew it had been sitting back there and not freshly made. All this time went by and I still never got a refill on my coffee. At this point with the quality of the service, I was not asking for coffee and just wanted to leave. We discussed our issues with the manager, and they gave us a 15% discount. I'm never looking for a free meal, but with all these issues, I sort of felt the meal should've been comped like most other restaurants would've. I will not be back. read more

I'll start off saying that I do not typically eat at this restaurant. This is only my third visit in my entire life. I was in Lima to pick up a Sam's order and wanted some chicken tenders. The ads for this restaurant looked delicious and I decided I needed to give them a try. It's been more than ten years since I last tried the restaurant. I placed my order online and there was about a 40 minute wait. I got there early and wondered the store. Every time a customer came to pay, the cashier asked how everything was and every response was the food was slow and it was cold. The cashier kept stating they were busy and apologized. The parking lot wasn't even half full so the comment about busy was surprising. They definitely do a steady busy. My pick up time came and went. My food was brought out 2 minutes after it was supposed to be ready. I don't mind waiting for fresh food. This was not fresh or hot. I took it directly to my car because I had an hour drive ahead of me and I planned to wait on the way. Nothing even came close to being like warm. The chicken tenders were soggy and cold, cold. The tater tot hashbrowns were cold and horrible. I was really taken by surprise by how cold the food was. The first picture is the food I bought and the second is what I threw away. It was just terrible. I can't imagine that I'll ever go back again. Why the cold food? I figured I could eat the chicken tenders cold but they left a film in my mouth. The Cole slaw may have been fine but I tried it after eating a chicken tender and that could have distorted the taste. Overall, a terrible experience. read more

So I've just spent $15 for plate of dough and hash brown casserole sides. The TINIEST PIECE of chicken in my pile of dumplings. As in a piece about an inch in diameter. Shameful!!! Got a carry out order and had walked from a nearby hotel as I often stay in the area. After 40 minutes of waiting to get basically nothing, I didn't have the effort to walk back a 2nd time, and wait probably another 30-40 minutes. If you are considering applying to this location, hold off. I waited two separate times for 15-20 minutes for my second interview and was not able to have it. The first time after I had waited for 15 minutes, the GM sent another employee over saying we would need to reschedule because she was too busy to interview me. I rescheduled and the second time after waiting for 20 minutes, she had not even shown up to the store. The management is unprofessional and I know that others have had issues with the same situations. I feel bad for the employees that work under her. read more

I've dined here a few nights in a row-ordering from the gluten free section and NO ONE said anything about not being safe for me until tonight!!!! Wow! What a disappointing visit. Our last three visits have been horrendous. New and incompetent staff (waitresses). Our food took forever. Literally a family of 5 (different waitress) ordered their food at the same time as us and had finished their meals before ours came out! Quality of the meal was poor. Bacon not cooked crispy as ordered and my scrambled eggs were runny (nearly gooey raw) as were my husbands. Refills were given by another waitress seeing my husband without a drink (bless her heart). Order online for a curb side pickup. When I got to the location I checked in and they said food will be right out. I waited 5 minutes and then walked into the restaurant and found 3 employees standing around talking. I went to the counter and my food was sitting there on the shelf getting cold. I walked out with my order as I was checking the bag. Ordered apple cobbler it was not in the bag, asked for BBQ sauce and it was missing as well so I walked back into the restaurant. Asked about them and was told they were out of both. So with that said they knew it was missing and didn't say a word if I didn't check the bag as I was walking I wouldn't have even been told. Now let me add this was 3rd time I have ordered from this location and every time it has been the same thing that is why I knew to check the order prior to leaving. Now for the food; when I got home the food was so cold the mashed potato's were a sold clump. Our corn bread was so hard we didn't even eat it. The chicken dumplings were so cold they were 1 sold piece. French fries were soggy. I wouldn't recommend anyone ordering to go from the Lima Ohio location unless you want food you really won't want to eat. read more

Came to Cracker Barrel a while back because... well i missed Cracker Barrel. I used to live 15 minutes away from one down in Florida, now it takes me over an hour to get one while in Ohio. Still, its worth the trip. I absolutely love their food! Especially their chicken and breakfast dishes. The menu changed from the last time i went to a Cracker Barrel which was pre-pandemic. My family and i came together. My brother got this huge burger... with cheese, eggs, and bacon. My mother got a breakfast with pancakes, eggs, ham, sausage and bacon. She also got some biscuits with sawmill gravy as well. I got a breakfast that had pancakes, eggs, chicken tenders, bacon, grits and hash brown casserole. I gotta say, i love any place that makes some good grits. The food was delicious! After eating, my family went around and did some shopping at their store. What i love about any cracker barrel store besides their food is their store. Plenty of items for sale including home decor, candles, candy, craft sodas, and music. I have bought all of the above before and that day was no exception as i bought some candles, candy and craft soda to take home. The atmosphere and the place itself were quite nice to someone who has never been here before. The biggest disappointment was the food. The pancakes were more butter than anything else and it just all tasted very average or maybe even below average. For the price point, it's what you would expect, nothing too good, nothing too bad.Our waitress was okay although it seemed like she wasn't too familiar with the menu and missed a few things. Our hostess Shanna had no personality and seated us in seats crammed between two other tables while the other half of the dining room was practically empty. Our waitress Bridget stood at our table putting her tips into her wallet and rearranged her money saying money is hard to come by instead of taking our order. When I took my fork out of the bag it had food caked to it. Our eggs were bland and chewy. My biscuits were doughy and under cooked and my gravy was horrible all you could taste was flour and it was barely warm. My husband was never offered a refill on his drink that sat empty for at least 15 minutes. The two elderly woman behind us were there before us and still didn't have their food. They finally questioned their waitress also Bridget and she then retook their order and blamed the cooks for not having the food finished she told them they never told her she had an order ready, they still did not have their food when we left. This is very shameful and disappointing! 38$ for a meal that was very disappointing and horrible service. I had issues with the restaurant the previous time I was there as well but decided to try it again because my husband had never eaten there before. I won't inundate you with your standard Cracker Barrel recap... ya know, checkers, the fireplace, hashbrown casserole, stick to your ribs food and all for a super duper budget friendly price. Typically I'm a four or five stars vote on Cracker Barrel - I grew up on this stuff. It's sentimental road trip food for me. In case you're wondering, I order the veggie plate - with dumplings...because, ya know how dumplings are a vegetable? Unfortunately, my serve during this experience was a bit of a grump. In all honesty, I don't think I've ever had a grumpy serve at Cracker Barrel (flipping through my memory of 25+ years of hashbrown casserole and rocking chairs on the front porch...). It's amazing how lackluster service can leave such a tart aftertaste. It really seemed like she didn't enjoy her job and was ready to get rid of us. Good new is: the food is predictable every time. Group of 4 visited Cracker Barrel in Lima Sunday 6/11/23. Seated at 1:19 (per text) , left at 3:40 having never received our food. Seated in clear view of kitchen. Saw virtually no food coming out. One table would be served, eat, and leave before any more food left the kitchen. Asked waitress (who was one her 2nd day) over and over. She checked in the kitchen over and over. Asked to speak to manager. She acted surprised that anything was wrong, while clearly nearly everyone in our half of the dining room was waiting on food. She said she would check but then never came back and never came near the dining room again. At least another hour passed. As we get up to leave, they ask if we'd like it to go. Suddenly 2 of the meals came out in to go packaging. Asked if we'd like to "wait" for the other 2 meals. No thank you. BEWARE! read more

Ordered to go and when I got there at the specified time, I hit the I'm here button and after 10 minutes my wife went inside. They told her they were still working on it about 30 minutes late they gave her our Order. We only live 5 minutes from the restaurant, and everything was cold. I think they just left it sit the whole time we waited. One of the worst meals ever. I don't recommend you place a to go Order if you want good food! How much can you say about The Cracker Barrel? When you're on the road, and you need breakfast it's where you go. You can expect everything to be just like it was the last time you were there, even if the last time was hundreds of miles away! Atmosphere, hospitality, quality and service. I've never had a bad experience at one of these. But today was interesting. We stopped for breakfast, didn't order anything special, she had an egg sammich, and I had the double meat breakfast. 3 eggs, bacon, and sausage, with all the extra stuff, you know, biscuits, grits etc. . . When our server brought our food, I noticed only a single meat. . .bacon. I asked her about it and she apologized up and down and ran off to fix it. Then from the kitchen we heard her voice boom like thunder saying "YOU FORGOT MY SAUSAGE!!!" We giggled, she brought sausage straight away, and all was right with the world. read more

Words cannot express how deeply disappointed I am with the food we had received from this restaurant. ABSOLUTELY HORRID. The food had looked like dry sponges and nothing like the photos shown in the advertisements. The dish was fried turkey and beans, which was supposed to come with a side of a corn muffin or biscuit, which they had never given to us. But not only that, but, the food had taken over 45 minutes not including the wait to be seated when there were CLEARLY open tables that were not cleared. We also had the waiter bring out their manager, Heather, who was incredibly disrespectful and then continued not to apologize OR offer any sort of refund. If you are willing to wait for long amounts of time while also receiving horrible service from waiters along with the managers, then I suggest this horrid restaurant. We came for breakfast because Cracker Barrel is usually reliable. This was not good. Food was cold, bacon mostly fat, biscuits were hard and flat. First, the lady taking to-go orders felt the need to tell me the price to MY requested add-ons...as if I couldn't read or afford an extra $7 item. That ended her potential tip IMMEDIATELY, and I tip well. 2nd..I ordered the Thursday special which is Turkey and dressing..And there was Not one drop of dressing on the plate. It wouldn't have been a big deal.. except the manager had just literally came up to me 5 minutes before I received my order and stated that my Turkey dinner was being plated. Environment in this restaurant is great, to the shop they have and including the outside portion of the restaurant. Food was really good beside a hair I had on my plate. I'd just recommend better service towards the customers. Staff here was bland and showed no enthusiasm towards my family. Also including the drinks tasted flavorless. Went to Cracker Bareel in Lima Oh last night after getting seated we waited @ 15 minutes for waitress to tell us she'd be with us 15 minutes later she came back to take our drink orders but we ordered food at the same time After we finally got our drinks there were ppl coming in 15/20 minutes after us that received there food and left and we hadn't received our food yet ppl next to us ask the waitress about there food an she told them it was being plated we finally received our food which we had 2 of the Friday fish specials which tasted like cardboard and a hamburger steak I think I had 6 French fries with my food next time I want Cracker Barrel we will go out of town read more

I knew I was in trouble when I went to the bathroom and the urinal was filthy. I think if a restaurant is not run well enough to keep the bathroom clean you can expect other issues are lurking. Unfortunately my initial impression would be validated. After ordering we didn't see our waitress again for half hour. No drink refills here. Then our food came out, well half of it anyway, a little less than half if you include the wrong order. After finding the manager we asked four times for biscuits etc. I have been to Cracker Barrel's across the country and have never had such poor service.
